    These do feel true to size. No need to size up, I think, even if you want to wear a sock. They are, however, tight in the calf and somewhat stiff. I haven't used them in the yard yet, but I think it might be uncomfortable to squat in them for weeding and the like, but they seem very durable and comfortable for walking around in my somewhat mucky yard.

    Our soil has some clay content that creates big wads of mud on my feet when it's wet. It's great to have some wellies that are really adorable, but also hold up well in the garden. These don't appear to be as tough as my old british style green wellies, but even if they only last one season, they are well worth it (and so cute!). The sole has good sturdy tread on it, so it's useful in the garden, although it would be nice if it were a little tougher in the middle of the foot where I tend to push on my long-handled shovel.
    One problem was that the tops did rub against my legs, so I recommend you have long socks that are high enough to cover your legs where the boot tops will contact them. My first socks fell down and the boots did leave a welt around the top edge.
    I'd also like to add that these might actually be a little bit bigger than true to size, which was wonderful for me, because my feet are long and narrow and many size 11's will be too short. These were perfect, and I can even fit a lightweight orthotic in there to give my feet more support.

    For the wet weather we have this year, they are excellent in the yard. But wish they had come in narrow and in 1/2 sizes. Feels 1/2 size too big because it is! I had to get a 10 when I wear a 9 1/2N.

    I am hoping these last longer than the typical "not rubber" rubber boots... those only last me one season. I've heard that real rubber boots like these last MUCH longer. So if I pay two or three times more, but they last 5 or 6 times longer... that ought to be a good deal--besides creating less trash for the landfill! They weren't quite as pretty as I thought they were in the picture, but I like them all the same--prettier than plain black with red soles!

    These wellies are wonderful for working in the garden, walking through tall grass and any time you want to keep your feet dry. Don't go commando in them though because your feet will sweat with nothing to absorb it. I wear long cotton socks under them and it works great.

    During rain storms in Florida we have lots of flooding which are difficult to naviate without waterproof gear. The boots are just the right height on your leg and comfortable to use during those times. Also, they are great for washing the car/dogs/house without getting my feet drenched. After getting them my girlfriends have been so jealous so you'll probably be hearing from them soon. Love my boots, love the brightness of the sunflowers.
