I've been looking for thin glove with a good grip for some time. Cloth gloves are just too bulky and hot in the summer in Texas, for weeding. These allow a good grip on the weeds even when wet. They are Nitrile so your hands are going to get hot but being able to feel what your doing means more to me.

I usually use strong leather gloves that I can wear out in a season so I wasn't sure about these thin gloves. I love them for simple weeding. Before when I was wearing the leather gloves I would remove them to hand weed so that I could get a better feel for the weed to pull it or dig it up and my hands were stained and a mess at the end of the day. With these gloves I find that I never have to remove them for these chores and the back of the gloves breath making them comfortable.

Needless to say, the nails suffered as did the skin, what with scrapes, splinters and brambles. These gloves are WONDERFUL! I would not recommend them for any heavy chores, but they offer good, lightweight, all around protection with enough flexibility even for delicate weeding. I also wear them with minimum discomfort on even the hottest days. I like these gloves more than any other gardening gloves I've ever had. I use them when running and working on the tractor, and got a couple of more pairs for use when working with my horses. They keep my hands clean, but are light enough not to interfere with what I'm doing. I have no hesitation getting them wet, unlike leather gloves I've had in the past. I have not used them for protection from thorns and other sharp things, because I don't think they are quite tough enough for that. I have washed them when they get too dirty and that has had no ill effect. The cloth backs keep them cool, while the nitrile palms protect the part of your hands that touch things. These are a buy-by-the-bulk item in my house. Although they aren't the best for heavy laboring, e.g. digging ditches/extensive shovel work or wheelbarrow/pushing heavy things around, these are my everyday gloves. I will wear out a pair at least once a season (or three if I get to play outside a whole bunch) they are worth every penny. I can work delicate jobs without any fear of injuring small plants and work medium jobs without hand fatigue or callouses. These really are quite great - buy at least two. OMG, these have got to be the best gardening gloves i have every used. they are thin enough so you can feel what you are working with but very strong. usually i go through several pairs of gloves by the end of spring, but these are still going strong! because of the rubber coating my hands do get moist and the water doesn't wick away, but just taking them off for a few minutes (a good excuse to get a drink anyway) takes care of that. i would highly recommend these gloves.

I've had thicker nitrile gloves before and thought that these thinner gloves would have holes in no time. I've put them through the ringer with digging, weeding, and debris clean-up...no problems. The tops are fabric, so they aren't the best if you want your hands to stay completely dry...but it hasn't bothered me. Just throw in the washer and hang dry.

I put these on before I do anything in the garden. They keep my hands and nails clean while I'm potting plants, they keep me from getting blisters when I'm using a shovel or rake, they give me a good grip when I'm carrying around moderately heavy and slippery pots, and I often forget that I'm wearing them because the fit is so good! I just ordered another pair (just in case) for myself, and a first pair for my DH.

The only thing that I wouldn't use them for is working with very thorny plants. I broke out my leather gloves when I took out a bougainvillea the other day, but I didn't expect these wonder gloves to protect me from the 1 to 2 inch thorns . . . most gloves won't.

These are the best gardening gloves I've ever had and will use no other now. I wore them putting 41 perennials in wet, mucky clay. I washed them once and they still look new. I am very pleased with these gloves. The most important feature to me was that they fit tightly and even though they appear thin, that they protect from splinters and thorns. And they have lived up to it! When I use them for gardening, pruning, and harvesting, I forget that I am even wearing gloves. They are very comfortable, flexible and not bulky like I've found other gloves to be. Bulky gloves tend to compromise your grip and end up crushing delicate work, but these do not. I was pleasantly surprised that they are quite waterproof. The entire palm is completely waterproof, which makes gardening in even a muddy area clean and efficient. I even rinse my hands with the gloves on and I'm still almost completely dry - only a little water gets in from the top mesh material, but so little that it really isn't a problem.
