I love the way the crock looks on my counter, it just looks like part of the decor. I would recommend to all of my friends.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Doesn't smell even in the brutal heatwave we are having. I only wish it also came in a larger size for times when I can't get to the community compost bin.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This crock is attractive on the counter, has a large capacity and with the filter there is no odor until you lift the lid! I love it!

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Excellent product with one caveat: the bottom is unfinished ceramic which is very abrasive, and I was concerned it might damage our countertops. The problem was eliminated by running a thin film of silicone adhesive along the bottom rim, making a cushioned anti-skid surface that is dishwasher safe.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I keep this compost crock on my kitchen counter. It's easy and convenient to use. I never realized how much kitchen waste my family generated. Now everything goes straight into our newly-purchased composter. Great product.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Has the best looks and does the job. The filter and the bags are a must.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I used to use used coffee cans to collect for my compost and it was kind of nasty. I cook professionally, using vegetables as the main portions of meals so I generate a bit of compost worthy materials when cooking for a family. There's where I found the only drawback to this item as far as size, second to the handle system. Could be better.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
such a pretty container for my kitchen scraps
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I use this product daily for gathering compost materials in my kitchen.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
What's great about this is that it works great AND looks great. I've actually gotten several comments from people who didn't even know it is a composter. I use it with the biodegradable bags which are really handy (but that's for another review...).
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Have been using the lid filter along with bio-degradable bag and I'm happy with how long the system has worked and hasn't become smelly or messy for over a month. Waiting to see how long it can go before it comes to that point; that is, if it isn't totally full before then.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
It takes us a week to fill it to capacity, so we don't have to run to empty it every day!

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Great looking compost crock, nice size. It is a bit heavy and the handle is noth trustworthy, it has nearly slipped off several times when dumping it outside. But all in all I think it is attractive and holds most of my kitchen scraps except of course, watermelon rinds and corn cobs!

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
The compost jar looks good on the counter and is not too big to be obtrusive and big enough to hold a few days' worth of scraps. No odor with the charcoal filters. So far so good.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Bought to Replace a unit that got broken. NOw composters are made in China with obvious poor workmanship and cheaper materials, glaze is not as it was on original, wire handle is cheap and flimsy, lid does not fit correctly. If I had known thay had changed suppliers I would not have ordered this again. The original was much superior.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I love this crock mostly because it matches my kitchen perfectly. It conveniently sits on the counter looking like a decoration while waiting for my kitchen scraps. The filter that came with it keeps the smell inside the crock. The compostable bags I ordered are wonderful too. They don't leak and I don't have to clean the crock every time I empty it. The "newness" of composting became a lot easier.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
So much better than using a bowl
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This crock looks great on our counter top and makes saving kitchen scraps for the composter so easy! We did get bags that fit into it to make removal of the scraps clean and easy!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Really controls the odors. Sometimes bag tears when emptying. Wish to opening was the widest part of the container.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This sits on my kitchen counter and we add things from the kitchen to it and empty it into our compost bin when it is full. It is much more attractive than the ice cream pail I was using.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
neat,compact and portable.
doesn't smell! (using the carcoal filters)
looks nice on the counter.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
easy to use and convenient to carry to the backyard composting bin.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Nice crock!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
It looks really nice in our country kitchen & keeps fruit flies from reproducing in it & escaping. However, the handle is a pain to actually dump into our outdoor composter. I'm afraid it will fall right off & it doesn't dump with the handle, it's really only for carrying & then gets in the way when you dump the scraps. [...]but it just looked so much better than any others that we've seen that we bought it. Overall, really we like it, it could just use some design improvements.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
attractive,no smell,no fruit flies
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This looks great on my kitchen counter. In combination with the filters and the biobags, it is easy to collect kitchen waste and then add to my composter outside.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This is everything That I thought it would be. It's great. I was hesitant because of some of the negative reviews, but I'm glad that we got it. People are suprised to find out what it is. This crock sits on my kitchen counter and looks great.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Makes for easy convenient collection prior to putting into the garden soil
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Before I purchased this I was putting scraps in a plastic container. This looks much nicer on my kitchen counter and keeps the odor in.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
No more unsightly open containers, no more odors, no more doubtful looks from visiting friends.....
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This crock sits on the kitchen counter just next to our coffee maker. Great for coffee grounds. Wide mouth makes it easy to dump the filter!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Would have gave 5 stars...I use Biobags..and after it gets a little over half way full...its hard to get the bag out without wiggling it and tugging..but other than that..it's the best thing I ever bought!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I've only had the crock for a couple of weeks, but love it so far! It holds at least a week's worth of kitchen 'stuff' and no odor has escaped, even with very smelly contents (I could Really Smell it when I opened the crock to add more)! Hopefully there will be no problems with the handle breaking off as I have read others have had. I have the charcoal filter in the lid.
Rinsed out very easily after emptying onto the compost pile in the yard.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Looks great on the counter and holds a large amount. Really controls the odor.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
It is pretty enough to set out on counter and blocks the oder
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This crock is attractive and functional. It looks great on my countertop and makes collecting scraps for composting easy and odor free with the charcoal filter in the lid. Don't pack scraps in tightly though because the shape will make the bag hard to remove. I do have to be careful not to drop the lid on the granite countertop but it's much better than the metal can I had before.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
The jar just sits on my counter in the kitchen. It is attractive enough that my husband even noticed. It can hold a large amount of kitchen scraps and doesn't smell.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I have really enjoyed having this compost crock, it doesn't smell at all, and it matches the green theme in my kitchen. I used to not compost as much because it was inconvenient to walk all the way to my compost pile for a banana peel or apple core but now it is growing leaps and bounds.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I've used many kitchen compost containers, and this is by far my favorite. I like it so much, this is actually my second one ('cause my husband broke the first one!). It looks lovely on the counter, has a large capacity, does not smell, and is easy to clear.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I have been looking at this crock for awhile and decided to go for it. It's quite attractive and looks great in my kitchen. Excellent capacity.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I use this product to hold my kitchen waste such as coffee grouds, egg shells, veggie scaps. It keeps them odor free until I take it to the composter and it saves me trips. Wish it were just a little bigger.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I am new to gardening and composting so the idea of keeping food scraps for compost in my kitchen was an offensive idea to me. However, I must say, that keeping the scraps in this attractive crock next to my kitchen sink has eased the unpleasantness. At the end of the day I empty the crocks contents to the outside compost area, wash the crock and start on the next days scraps--no unpleasantness or odors.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
makes compost collection much easier
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I keep this next to the sink which is close to the stove and refrigerator. I use the Biobags, it makes emptying the crock easy.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This sits on my kitchen counter and does not look out of place.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Makes composting easy an dattractive.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
While I liked the design and look - the filters have a constant ordor - not strong, but there.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This composter looks great and works great--if only it were just a big bigger! Easy to pick up and carry out to the compost and also easy to pick up with the handle to clean underneath. I am very happy with this product and just wish I had purchased sooner!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Sits on my counter and is convenient to use. Filters keep the odor inside. Just take the bag out to the compost.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Peels, coffee grounds, egg shells...they're all nicely contained in the compost crock. Add the biodegradable bags and the charcoal filter and composting is so simple.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Nice enough to leave sitting on my countertop!!!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
It is a handy container for our compost scraps. It fits in nicely with our kitchen decor and is odorless. The only negative thing is the filter. It seems to have shrunk after getting wet and falls into the container.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This is a very nice crock. I'm not noticing any odor from it at all. It looks great and is high quality.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I love the size and look of this crock. Looks nice on the counter.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I love the looks and size of this crock. It contains odors and is a great size for my kitchen use. Only one thing to complain about--The handle on the cover is small and makes it easy for me to drop onto my granite counter. I've broken two covers and am switching to the stainless steel pail--less attractive, but more practical.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I've been adding to my compost jar daily as I prepare meals. The other day it was time to dump it into my large compost bin. I had been surprised by the "lack of smell" as the contents had not been stinking up my kitchen. When I got to the bottom of the crock WHEW! There was that smell! So the smell was there but this crock keeps it contained. LOVE THAT! Not to mention I'm not making 100 trips out to the large bin anymore. Once a week is fine with me. :-) I highly recommend this compost crock. Oh, and did I mention it's pretty too? LOL
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I am happy with this product. I love how it looks. I use it for kitchen scraps and empty about every 2-3 days. So far no odor problems. I had read the reviews so I do not use the handle I just carry it carefully to the compost bin leaving the lid inside. This product totally works for my needs.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This product has a design that is not conducive to using biobags. Because the top is more narrow than the body, it is difficult to remove full bags without tearing them.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This compost crock is the perfect size for your kitchen composting. We use it daily and about once a week we transfer to our outside compost tumbler. There is absolutely no odor thanks to the charcoal filter in the lid, which is a nice bonus. I would highly recommend this crock to anyone who composts.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Both useful and attractive
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This is great for kitchen scraps. We leave the scraps in there until it's full and then dump into our big composter. No smell so far.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
The handle of this crock can fall off, leaving you with a broken crock. Therefore, I recommend that you take the handle off and leave it off. Even if you decide never to use the handle, someone else may decide to help empty the compost and feel bad that they did after they break your crock. That's what happened to me. I'm buying another, but this time I'm leaving the handle off.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This is very pretty, it stays out on my kitchen counter. It holds a week's recycleables in a house of 1. It actually holds more than I expected. Wouldn't want to have to wash it, I use the bags.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I had been putting off using a countertop composter, but this crock matches my kitchen and really looks great. Combined with the liners and filters, it has exceeded my expectations--no odors! I'm extremely happy with this product.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Looks nice, fits into the decor and doesn't take up a lot of space. We use it with the biodegradable bags, which are a little big, but tuck inside to a nicer look.
MUCH better than the plastic container we were using or taking LOTS of trips to the garage, where we keep the composter. No oder as of yet, and the scraps have sat there for up to a week.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Fits great on kitchen counter. Compact, not too tall. No smell! Attractive with decor.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This compost crock is attractive and holds quite a bit of stuff and still fits behind my sink.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
The handle comes off too easily. Would be good for manufacturer to design a handle that can lock into place. Jar is much too heave to trust that the metal handle will hold in place while carrying. Also difficult to remove the eco liner bag.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
The crock is nice and does not smell. I don't like the handle, it does not move easily. The bottom scratched my counter, I had to put felt on the bottom.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
My stoneware crock looks great in my kitchen along with my collections of olive jars and pottery. I place all types of veggies, fruit peels, egg shells, herbs, and coffee grounds in the crock and it never smells. It has a high quality look. I love it!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I use this product to hold my kitchen waste. When it gets full, I put the waste in my large outdoor compost ball.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
We put all our kitchen scraps in it. Dump it into our compost pile. We have used one for a long time. We got the first one from you.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Looks great on the counter and has no odor!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
We use this container to store all of our kitchen scraps. It just sits on our counter and blends in perfectly! It is convenient and easy to use. The only thing we wish we could change is to make it bigger.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Get for kitchen scraps because it's very attractive on the counter.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
It is easy to use, and looks good on my counter.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
It's so attractive that people ask what it's for. Blends right in with kitchen decor.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This crock is probably heavier than one of the metal bucket styles, but if that is not a problem, it definitely looks better sitting out. The crock doesn't look like the one pictured that has the lovely graduated color change in the green glaze. It looks like the one shown in "other" views, with a thinner solid stripe of dark green. It has a more "mass marketed" look. But it still is a big improvement over yogurt containers. I like that there is no rubber gasket on the lid because you are able to use just one hand to lift the lid. It holds several days worth of scraps and holds the odor in just fine.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I keep this by my sink, it looks great in the kitchen and serves a wonderful purpose. No smell at all!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
We have always composted kitchen scraps in a large bowl. Our new compost crock is much more attractive and keeps down the odor until time to take the compost outside to our bin.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Pretty sitting on the counter and there is absolutely no smell or bugs with it. HOWEVER, the neck is smaller than the body of the container so it is difficult and messy to dump it out.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Good for house with small family. I empty it every 4-7 days and no odors in the kitchen. Handy and great for my composting efforts

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
this container looks good on our kitchen counter, and we've had no odor. However, ceramics around helpful children can result in cracks/chips, so you may want to consider pails made from recycled/recyclable materials. We have to empty it daily, but that has become part of our routine.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This is an attractive and effective recepticle for kitchen scraps...and it matches my kitchen colors!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I even bought one for my Dad.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This kitchen compost crock has eliminated the mess and odor we had from other vessels. The size is perfect for kitchen scraps and waste and the clean up couldn't be easier. It's large enough without being unwieldy to keep clean.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Looks good... works great... especially appreciate the charcoal filter.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I really love this crock!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This is my second crock like this because the handle easily comes off and I was left with the handle in my hand and a broken crock on the ground.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
The crock is great but if you use the bio-bags with it be careful not to fill it up. Due to the smalller neck of the crock it becomes difficult to pull out.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Excellent item for households that collect kitchen scraps for outdoor composting
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Convenient to use, solidly built and a nice glaze, attractive in our kitchen. We've had no odor problems since we bought it and we add things to it on a daily basis.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Makes me feel like I'm doing something good for the environment by composting. Less wasteful since I can use the compost in the garden. Reduces my curbside trash volume. After seeing my compost crock, my son-in-law asked for one for Christmas!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This product looks good, provides odor free storage, and has adequate capacity for minimum trips to our outdoor composter. Great value!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This crock fits in my kitchen like it belongs there.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Great product, I love it!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Attractive and functional
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This compost jar works great, looks great, is totally odor free and has a pretty good capacity. I'd definitely recommend it.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I've owned this crock for several years and it still sits on the counter...but we use other containers to collect the compost. It is an attractive crock but I agree with another customer that the shape does not work well with bio bags. The neck of the crock is much narrower than the body and it just makes it difficult to get the bag out when it is full. Also, the handle does not stay put. I do not carry the crock by the handle for fear that the handle will come off and the crock will break (this happened to the same style crock I had at work)
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Best thing about this crock is no odor. The charcoal filter really works!
You do have to empty it weekly to prevent lots of slime from forming under the scraps, since this can leak out of the compostable bags, and possibly could cause the bag to break. The glazed interior means this crock is very easy to clean, and the construction is solid. Good value, and looks fine on the countertop.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Love the looks of it, very attractive unless there's a bio bag inside. Then the top edge of the bag has to hang over the top edge of the crock, unless the bag is entirely left inside. TThe bio bags are great though they don't seem to break down in my compost pile. The bio bags are hard to remove from the crock when there are bulky rinds like citrus inside. Struggling to pull the bag out sometimes results in holes if there is a sharp edge like a stem inside that pokes through. Also the filter does not stop odors like onions or mildew. If not used for a few days mildew can build up and collect on the filter. Crock doesn't seal well. It is easy to clean, but I don't like messing with the filter when mildew builds up on it. I would not recommend this to anyone else without telling them the problems with it.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Use for daily kitchen scraps, fruit and vegetable trimmings. Egg shells, coffee and tea grounds can be discarded for yard flowerbed fertilizer production.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I like that I can collect several days of kitchen scraps before I have to take them outside. There is no odor or bugs.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This is a really attractive composter for the kitchen. The design is very nice. we have been using it now for about 2 weeks and have not had any problems with odor.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Nice size and look great on our kitchen counter
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
We set it on the kitchen counter so that it is right there and ready to throw biodegradable scraps into. The filters do a good job of keeping the smell down. It is large enough that you don't constantly make trips to the compost pile to empty. My daughter liked mine so well that I gave her one for Christmas and she was excited to put it to use.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Looks like a nice piece of pottery.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
It looks good in the kitchen
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This compost post is very attractive, much better than our old one. It cleans easily, too.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This container is very attractive and goes with the color scheme in my kitchen. It looks very attractive on my counter. It saves many trips to the composter in the back yard. So far haven't found anything I don't like about it.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I bought this for my boyfriend who composts/recycles everything. He loves it! No more trudging out to the compost pile in freezing cold temps. It works great and no noticeable odor.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Attractive and nicely-sized container to collect kitchen scraps for a few days before transferring outside or to a larger compost bin.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Looks great sitting on the kitchen counter. Wonderful addition to our kitchen and will look much more attractive for compost scraps that container we were using, plastic coffee can.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my sister. I was very disappointed to see that the lid has no gasket for a tight fit. I do not feel this will style will contain smell as promised. Unfortunately I do not have time to have the item exchanged, and so I had to find another gift for her elsewhere.[...]
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I have a new kitchen. My compost pot looks great and it is very handy. I had company for Thanksgiving, left it on the counter top and no one even noticed what my little green pot was for. Easy to take to my comp.area, rinses clean so far I can't find anything about it that isn't great.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This looks great on my counter, but I have had to adapt a plastic container to fit inside which is what we use to take scraps outside. We live on a farm, and there are too many ways the original container could break on our trips to the chicken coop while doing chores! It would be absolutely perfect if you provided a removable, non-breakable insert...

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Yes, this is an attractive crock, but I have had trouble with the lid and the little spot where the handle fits into- breaking. They do not offer the lid seperately (for when it break- and it will, just wait and see). I have used so much super-glue repairing this and that over and over again. I always hand washed it, never exposed it to the heat of the dishwasher dryer. The crock just is prone to breaking.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This is exactly what I needed, looks great on the counter, no odor, cleans easily and has a handle for taking the compost oustide. No complaints

PRODUCT IS USED DAILY --EMPTIED EVERY 2 DAYS
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This crock is so pretty, looks great in the kitchen and has a large capacity, but does not get stinky. Love it.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Great Capacity Beautiful No smell No flies
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I had the one that looks like a white ceramic trash can and opted for this newer one to look much better and more decorative on my counter right by the sink. I love it!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
When I opened the box, I was glad I purchased this compost crock. It was very nicely made and was glazed on the inside and out, so even if I don't use the biodegradable bags that I purchased, the crock will not absorb any liguid that may be at the bottom.
The lid is slightly out of round so it doesn't fit snug but I have not had any problems with it so far.
I would buy this product again.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
this is really a great idea...it saves time and i dont use the disposal as much

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
the pail looks great on our counter top, is well made and durable. But we can't easily get the bio bag with the scraps out. So we're buying a different design, not worth the aggravation!

It works with my kitchen decor, cleans up easily, and has NO odor! I love it.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
look's good but handle comes off to easy and breaks.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I love this crock and find it very attractive on my kitchen counter. It is great to not have to run out to the composter every day. The odor absorber works great (and even washes out for reuse). I just wish it was tiny bit bigger. I don't suggest actually carrying it by the handle either, support it from the bottom.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
can only be used for very small scraps
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I have found nothing negative. There is absolutely no odor until I open the liner. It is so convenient to have it right there for onions, fruit, veggies. I'm thrilled with it..just ordered more bags and filters for it. Besides that, it goes perfectly with my color decor. Thank you for a superior product.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Looks great on the kitchen counter and doesn't smell so you wouldn't even know what was in it!

This compost crock is simply perfection. Make sure you purchase the Bio-Bags with the crock.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
My only complaint is the shape of the crock makes it difficult to remove the biobag liners when full. I find I cannot fill the crock to capacity if using the liners.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Pleasant addition to the counter top. Looks great, works great.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
It does it's job unobtrusively and blends into the backgound
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
A beautiful addition to my son's kitchen, so I had to buy a second for my daughter's birthday. She's very happy with it.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I AM A NOVICE COMPOSTER BUT SO FAR MY NEW CROCK IS WORKING OUT JUST FINE. IT LOOKS NICE ON MY KITCHEN COUNTER AND THERE IS NO ODOR AT ALL. MY ONLY CRITIQUE MIGHT BE TO INCLUDE SUGGESTIONS FOR COMPOSTABLE ITEMS IN THE PACKING LITERATURE SO THAT I KNOW I AM USING MY NEW CROCK TO IT'S FULLEST. I REALLY DO LOVE IT.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This is a nice little composter. We've forgot to get one years ago and I'm embarrassed to say that we always had a bag of kitchen scraps on our counter waiting to go to the big tumbler outside.
Now we have a nice little crock sitting on the counter where it all goes.
I think this item is pretty sturdy as well. I was hesitant about the metal handle but it's heavy duty.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Our compost pot is so beautiful that we have it set out just to admire. Any day now it will get to replace my mother's old stoneware jar.
Better than we ever imagined.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Attractive place to put scraps and it doesn't smell. Easy to clean.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Absolutely beautiful on the kitchen counter. No more bags in the sink to catch scraps and no running out to the compost bin multiple times a day to get the waste out of the house. Wonderful!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Product is great to hold and transport kitchen material to compost. Holds enough to cover most jobs.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This product is great. It can sit on the counter and blend in. No smell even though I don't empty as often as I should.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
great for the kitchen
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This is an attractive crock that takes care of a week's worth of kitchen scraps and no one knows it's anything other than a pretty piece of pottery on my kitchen counter.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
The unit works good and keeps fruit flies from breeding on the fruit in the jar while waiting to be taken out to the compost pile. Cleans up easily and the carbon filter keeps odor down.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
For my composter
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
For an article that serves such a utilitarian (and potentially unattractive or odor-producing) purpose, this crock fits in nicely with our decor, holds plenty, and discretely serves to collect a few days worth of compostable material in our kitchen.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Just need to remember to empty it before the fruit flies find it!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I liked it so much I bought one for my daughter.
She is in an apartment and it fits well in her kitchen.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This is a lovely compost crock and the charcoal filters work well. The only problem is that the biobags cannot be filled to capacity because then the contents can't get through the neck of the crock.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Needs to seal better around the lid to keep gnats away. Other than the gants, it's great!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
looks good
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
We bought this as a gift for some friends that we visited. Before they were using a plastic tupperware for their kitchen scraps. Let's just say this was a major upgrade! :) It's attractive and easily accessible when working in the kitchen. I want one now!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Only thing I would add is that the rim of the lid should have a rubber seal. I'm always fearful that I'm going to crack it when placing it on the pot. Also, it is odor free until you lift the lid, depending on what is in it. I think this is much more attractive than the stainless steel or the plastic type.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
The compost jar sits on my counter and looks very attractive. No one would know what is inside unless I tell them- don't ask, I don't tell! It is a real time and step saver. Instead of running out to the compost pile to dump table scraps, etc daily, we save in jar until nearly full and do it all in one trip. I love it.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Matches my kitchen decor perfectly. Doesn't look like a counter composter. Doesn't smell. Sometimes little fruit flies get in, but no harm. Easy to carry and clean after dumping the food scraps in the backyard composter.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Purchased as gift for someone looking for attractive container for kitchen to collect compost
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This is great!! Makes me more aware to save scraps for the compost because I can just put them in the crock and take them out later!! And NO smell!!

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This is so much better then trying to find a container to put all your kitchen scraps in; odor free makes it great and no fruit flies either. I should have gotten the disposal liners, they would make clean-up easier.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Just the right size for on the counter so it is convenient
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This is our second, due to the handle comeing off.
It doesn't pass the gravity test.
Other wise it's attractive and works well.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
It sits on my island along with other pretty things. It is great because I can fill it up and not walk out to my large compost every time I cut up vegetables. I don't smell it at all! When it is full I just walk outside, dumb the contents into the compost and rinse it out. Suits my needs perfectly.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Solves problem of odor when collecting scraps and looks great on the counter.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I have composted kitchen scraps for years in a variety of containers kept under my kitchen sink. Always problems with fruit flies, mildew, odor. This has solved all problems & I keep it on the counter!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
My brother-in law was thrilled to get it. He liked the way it looked in his kitchen and is becoming an avid composter. Thanks.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Looks great on the counter, we use it for kitchen scraps. Good capacity and no odor!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
The size is just right for the kitchen counter
Filters are easy to change
Not easy to keep clean as ceramic will stain
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This is an easy way to be sure that you are getting your vegetable scraps and coffee grounds into your compost pile. Just put the crock by the kitchen sink and place all your vegetable scraps in it. Then once a week, empty it into your compost pile!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
A friend received one and I liked it so much I got one the next day. Wish it came in colors. Easy to clean.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
great product, perfect size, odor free
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
this attractive container keeps kitchen odor free and holds kitchen scraps from 3 to 4 days worth.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I like that the jar holds a few days worth of scraps that get deposited in our yard compost pile. It's convenient to use, unobtrusive and with the companion bags, totally disposable. For our needs, it is the perfect size/capacity. I like that the opening is large enough so taking the full bag out is not a struggle. Would like more filters with initial order or less expensive replacements is my only negative.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Love having it on my kitchen counter to dump food scraps etc into. I'm down to one bag of trash a week between composting and recycling ... and I'm a Republican!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This was a gift to my daughter who up till then used an old plastic container. She loves it and it
matches her kitchen. I'll be getting one for myself soon as I decide what color I want.
Thanks for offering so many great products.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This is an attractive, counter-top ready compost bin for the kitchen. It is not huge, and needs to be emptied regularly, which can be a good thing as it also does not get too stinky before needing to be emptied. Not sure it would be good for a large family, however. The charcoal disks in the top do a great job of eliminating odors and keeping bugs away. I bought 6 when I bought the Crock, and the first one has lasted at least a month with no sign of stench. I think they last longer than advertised!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
attractive container and color that goes well in the kitchen. However, it appears to be lighter material than the previous one I bought several years ago.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I have 2 of these - one for my chicken scraps and one for the worm compost bin. My chickens now come running when they hear me take the lid off the bucket.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
The size is just right. I was worried that it would be too small for my needs but it turned out that it is perfect. The urn looks beautiful sitting on my counter. I have had some staining on the interior which surprised me b/c it is glazed inside. I use the carbon filters in the lid so there is no smell whatsoever and no bugs either! I really like this product and would recommend it.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This crock is wonderful- looks great on my counter ( I'm just waiting for someone to think it's a cookie jar and stick their hand in !!)and has a generous capacity so I'm not running out to the compost bin all the time..
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
We just got into composting and this compost crock is the perfect solution for our kitchen-to-compost pile. I find that I am dumping material about once every two days which is about what I expected. And there is no smell and it looks great on the counter.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
It looks good on the counter. The handle does not rotate freely enough and looks like it might pop off (although it hasn't) which makes emptying it over the compost pile a little difficult.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Great looking countertop collector of kitchen scraps. Bio-bags make it easy to transfer to outside composter. Cleans up nicely. Couldn't ask for anything better.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I bought this to replace an identical one that my son accidentally broke when something dropped on it. It is great, no odor and a pretty large capacity. Looks good on the kitchen countertop. Highly recommend!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
My son accidentally broke my last crock when he was dumping the contents into our compost pile. It was white ceramic. I was secretly glad becuase I saw this one after I bought the last one and have coveted it since! It looks great in my kitchen!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I love the look and functionaliy of my compost crock. It is very attractive; however, I don't like that the opening is smaller than the body, so when the bag is full it is difficult to pull out. In light of that, I wish I had bought one that didn't get smaller at the top. I LOVE the bags that decompose. They work great and make taking stuff up to the composter easier.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I bought this as a gift for my daughter in law and she really liked it. It looks so nice in her kitchen. She is just starting to use it but really likes it so far.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
With biodegradable bags and filter for the top/makes a great gift
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I have been looking at this crock for compost in the catalog for the last two years and couldn't decide whether it would be big enough. I got tired of my family leaving vegetable and fruit compost materials in containers on my counter and having containers stained with coffee grounds. I only have to empty it on my compost pile every other day or so. We are big veg. and fruit eaters so I am pleasantly surprised at the capacity. No odor either with the charcoal filter in the top. This would be a great gift item for someone on your list. And the best part, my kitchen has olive tile and counters. It matches perfect!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
this product is great expecially with the compost bags. it matches my kitchen so it doesn't seem out of place, it catches all my kitchen scraps and the fruit flies are gone.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I haven't had any problems with the handle. It looks great and with the filter there has been no smell.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I love not having to use plastic bags for my kitchen scraps anymore.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Placed on counter for kitchen waste/scraps. However, due to container shape, the biodegradable bags can be a little to remove, depending on amount in bag. Think other style that is not larger at bottom than top would make bag removal not as hazardous (chance of bag tearing. But really love looks of container on counter.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This item works perfect; use the bio bags with it.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I love it- I have it on my counter on the side of my sink. I've gotten many complements on the attractiveness of the pot and most everybody is surprised when I tell them what it is.
I don't notice any smells from it either. I do dump it out in my compost bin almost daily.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This was a gift for Mom on Mother's Day. She REALLY likes it. It is a very attractive container that she doesn't have to hide. Nobody guesses it's a compost container!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
No mess, convenient, and hidden from others-I was tired of looking at scraps that needed to go out to the compost pile. This way we can accumulate and take out all at once.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I have had this on my kitchen counter about 3 months now. We empty it about every 3 days. The second time I emptied it I washed it out and put the filter to dry (somewhere). Can't find the filter, but is does not smell at all. I just love this!!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Love the design.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This is a wonderful product. The crock looks nice on the countertop and holds 2-3 days worth of kitchen scraps. There is no odor due to the fitted lid and charcoal filter. The design is robust and very easy to clean.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This is an attractive way to accumulate compostible materials -- simple to carry to the composter, cleans well and is very "easy on the eyes".
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
So many reviews of other products had me worried about all the potential problems. I chose this crock because its design and colors were different from the others, but once I started using it, I knew I made the right choice.
First worry: smell. I never have a problem with smell. A big family and hot climate mean it doesn't sit long enough to get smelly, but just in case, the crock comes equipped with a charcoal filter in the lid which I will probably never replace.
Will it be hard to clean? Nope. The inside is finished smooth so it's very easy to empty and clean.
Will the handle be so flimsy that I drop it the first week? The handle is very sturdy so I'm not afraid of carrying it out to the compost bin. I even add some water before I head out to help empty it and add a little moisture to my compost. The extra weight is no problem at all.
Will it look like a garbage can on my counter? Again, no chance. The style and colors look great in my kitchen. It's pretty enough to leave sitting on the counter.
I wasn't sure if I would like a crock, but now that I've been using it for a couple of months, I'll never be without it again.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
My wife really liked the pot whiich I gave as a gift about 2 months ago. The only discouraging thing I heard was ,"it could have been about twice as big". We use It everyday. Overall great buy.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This crock looks great and there is no smell. I recommend using the soapstone fruit fly catcher, though. We had a problem with fruit flies.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Nice container to store kitchen scraps.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Goes with my kitchen decor and is easy to use
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This sure beats the plastic bowl on the counter and the filters really keep down on the odor
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Like the way it looks pretty well. It needs some type of insert to hold the bag so that it doesn't stick out under the lid or collapse completely inside the jar. Since I like the bags, I might have chosen the under cabinet one that holds the bags better.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
The crock looks just like the photo and blends in nicely on our counter without screaming "compost!" The first charcoal filter I used (fits under the lid) got wet and moldy, so I am using none right now and there is no smell. don't know if the filters always get moldy or if it was just my cleaning the top and wetting it. I have loosely drapped a bit of plastic wrap over the top (which now has tiny open holes) to keep away fruit flies just in case. I will reinsert another filter; they are not especially expensive, I'm just testing without them until the weather gets very hot.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
no one knows that the little crock is full of kitchen waste untill I tell them - great product would buy it again -
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Having the crock in the kitchen makes collection of scrapes so easy. Every couple of days it gets dumped into my garden composter. There is no odor when used with the filter.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I'm very happy with this product. It's made well, fits perfectly with our kitchen color, country kitchen! Sooooo...much better than the old white one. Thanks for giving me choices!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Within less than a month of purchase, the metal handle unhinged while I was walking out to the composter causing the crock to fall and shatter into a million pieces.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
The crock is convenient and attractive. It makes composting easy. My only drawback is if you use the biodegradable bags with it, do not fill it up. The opening is smaller than the crock itself and makes removal difficult and a bit messy. I have given this as a gift also.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Alot better than what we used before .
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Love the colors, very attractive. Unless you saw me putting food scraps in it, you wouldn't know it was for compost. Reduces unwanted odors!

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This looks great on the counter, and it holds tons of kitchen scraps. It cleans beautifully either by hand or in the dishwasher (after taking out the charcoal filter). I highly recommend it to anyone who does composting.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
We just use it to hold compost in the kitchen until we are ready to transfer outdoors to the large compost area
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I would definately recommend this product.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I really like the appearance of this compost crock. It's nice enough to have out on the counter, and if you diligently empty it, it doesn't stink up the place.
The one awkward part of the design for me is that it's barrel-shaped. So, if you want to use a liner for ease of cleaning, like we do, it makes it hard to empty by pulling out the liner because it's bigger in the middle than at the opening. We gave up on using a liner, and because the item is glazed ceramic on the inside, it's not hard to clean.
I have not had the problem with the handle yet that other people have mentioned.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I love this little compost crock pot. It is exactly what we were looking for for our kitchen. It looks great and does not smell at all! I wish it were a little bigger though.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This product is not only useful but a beautiful addition to my kitchen decor! I would have liked to have a larger capacity but this is my only negative comment.
Thank you
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I am very happy with this crock. I love the looks, the filtered lid keeps odors out, and it holds just enough scraps before things start getting gross. Others have complained about the handle and I don't know if it was fixed or not, but mine has given me no trouble.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I love the look and the convenience.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
In the summer I collect mostly food scraps. The crock is a perfict size. I don't have to empty it each day. It looks so much better on my counter than the old Tupperware lettuce keeper I was using.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This crock is pretty enough to leave out on my counter where it is a reminder for myself (and my family) to compost our kitchen scraps. I used to do this using an uncovered plastic container but stopped as it was unsightly and smelly. This nice container has gotten me back on the right track.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
easy to use and fits in with my kitchen decor
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Attractive composter that looks nice and is readily accessable to put my kitchen scraps in before taking them to the compost pile- which is quite a walk from my house.
Filters keep it odor free and biodegradable bags keep it neat and easy to dispose of it!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I love this Compost Crock. The size is perfect and it is very attractive.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
The stoneware crock blends right in with our countertops and looks decorative rather than functional. Our guests had no idea what was in it until I lifted the lid to add more scraps.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
ITS JUST WANT I WANTED GOING TO BUY MORE FOR GIFTS
WISH IT CAME IN DIFFERENT COLORS
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
The hardest part was getting in the habit of placing unwanted scraps in the crock instead of the trash. Is great at keeping all orders trapped inside.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Composting is about stewardship of resources so I would do it anyway, but it's nice to have a collector crock in the kitchen that's attractive as well as utilitarian.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
My wife uses it to keep all our compost until it is full, then she brings it outside to our compost container. We used to use just an old tupperware, but it was not very good looking, this however is just what she wanted. Very nice.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
great size, needs to be emptied every few days, but doesn't smell and looks great in my kitchen
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I ignored other reviews and purchased this crock. It is attractive on the counter. However, it is shaped in such a way as to make it impossible to pull a full compost bag out. In order to pull the bag out, you must rely on the metal handle, which slips off the crock. It broke in the first month. What a waste of money.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I use it mainly for coffee grounds, fruit rinds and egg shells. The best thing is no odor.
Nothing bad to report
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This crock looks great on the kitchen counter, behind the sink, waiting on scraps, grounds, etc. The capacity is great for us -- a week's worth of compostable materials and no odors. I highly recommend it. Thanks Gardener's Supply!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
The compost crock matches my kitchen perfectly. So apart from being a very useful container to gather and dispose of my kitchen waste, it looks fantastic.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
My husband and I just started composting and I wanted something to store our kitchen scraps in before they went out to our tumbler. I needed something that would be pretty enough to leave out on the counter, big enough to store lots of scraps, and completely odor free. This is ALL of the above!!! Absolutely, the best product I found on the internet.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I just love this jar! It holds a lot of kitchen scraps and the best part is you don't smell a thing even when you're standing right in front of it!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This product works great! It looks like a trendy cookie jar, and there is no smell whatsoever. The only problem is if you don't use a bag, it's tough to get all the scraps out when you dump it.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
We use this to hold kitchen scraps until we take them out to the composter. The biodegradable bags are a BIT LARGE FOR THE CROCK AND IF THE CROCK IS FULL, THEY DO NOT FALL OUT into the compost when you upend the crock to dump its contents into the bin; you have to manually remove the bag & contents. The crock works much better without the bags. Then it empites easily. It also is nice to look at on the counter and NEVER smells.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I was concerened about odors with this crock, but there are no problems with odors. We empty it every day to every other day. We rinse it out after dumping it into the composter. It works great, and it keeps food scraps out of our trash. Just wish we had started composting sooner!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Nice product for kitchen waste. Larger than expected but is good for its use.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Keeps Kitchen looking tidy--GR8 capacity--Odor free. I have purchased several as gifts.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I bought one for myself and another for a gift. Love it!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This is an attractive compost crock with a good capacity. There is no odor when the lid is on.
Happy with this product.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
you can't keep the bag in for more than about 4-5 days b/c the container will get damp and kinda smelly... the charcoal filter helps while it is closed but we'll see how long that lasts. so far it seems ok at about 4 weeks... very attractive piece prettier than many others i have seen online and in stores and very comparable price wish
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Having bought a different style for myself a few years ago I bought this one as a gift for my daughter in law after a conversation we had about composting kitchen scraps, fruit and vegetable peels. The colors of this compost crock match her kitchen perfectly.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Finally a kitchen compost container that doesn't look like an industrial trash can. Capacity is good size, you don't have to empty it every day.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I love the fact that I'm composting yet have no smell in the house. Plus, it's attractive. We can leave it on the counter.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
We love our compost crock. It is an attractive addition to our kitchen. We chose it over the stainless steel product, because it looks more attractive on our kitchen counter. Now that we are retired we have started our own large garden. Instead of throwing away our kitchen scraps, coffee grounds and tea bags, we now have an odor free container to put them into until we transfer them into our home made compost tumbler, constructed from a 55 gal. plastic drum. It just doesn't seem right to throw our food waste into a smelly old garbage can anymore, when we can recycle them into the earth where it all started.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Must empty every other day or will start to get gnats, and poor odor. The filter helps some, but when you open to add more scraps, the smell quickly permeates the air. The gnats crawl through and around the filter. I tried keeping it outside, but it made it even worse. [$] down the drain. Think I may drill a hole in the bottom and use as a planter.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
It was simple to put this crock to use; it's the right size to fit under the sink or on the counter within easy reach. Always right there when I need it!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I've just begun composting, and looked at several kitchen storage solutions for the scraps and grounds to be collected and dumped into the composter. This is not only attractive, but the charcoal filters work very well at keeping odors away. The crock is large enough to hold a couple of days worth for us, yet isn't so big that it presents an issue when emptying into the composter. And it cleans up nicely!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
There is a problem with the design. The handle easily slips off, which it did when my husband was emptying it. It broke into a hundred pieces, making us very sad.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This looks really nice sitting on my kitchen window ledge. No odor at all.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This was a great product but unfortunately the compositor that we purchased to put the things into came to us broken. We had to tape it together in order to have it stand up.
We were very disappointed in it. I had given it to my husband for christmas and did not open it up until this spring. All the bottom edges were broken.
Thank you
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I wish I could afford to purchase these for all my friends. This is an attractive composting pot that can be left at counter top for those of us who use it constantly! I've seen other pots, most of which are good for undercounter use. I can't be bothered with that, it's one extra step. This is convenient and far nicer looking than the usual tupperware container that I used previously.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
It has lots of room and it easy to clean after each use.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Good-looking container for keeping on the counter during food prep!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I use this everyday. The smaller mouth makes it difficult to pull the bag out if you fill it too full. Also if too full the food touches the filter and may start to mold. It looks great on the counter and I don't smell anything.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
An attractive and handy way to collect waste products from the kitchen and add them to the composter. Size is great so that you are encouraged to deposit items into composter often.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I keep this by the kitchen sink and use it daily -- every time I cook there is something to go into it. It holds a lot and doesn't need to be emptied daily since the filters really do keep it from getting smelly, and let's be honest sometimes you just don't want to trek out to the compost bin -- especially when it's raining. I'm very happy with this item.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Ths is very attractive on my kitchen counter. I have forgotten to empty it for a few days and there was no odor. I am very pleased with this item
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Great in the kitchen for scraps and minimizing garbage output. Looks so much nicer than tradjitonal waste containers.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Very useful and easy to use but the crock can fall off the handle when emptying. It should be secured by bending the ends more fully.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Use it in the kitchen and then it's contents go into a large composter outside. It came with a cracked rim and I had already thrown away box and packing slip when I noticed it.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Looks great! Works well...what else can you get from a jar??
I'd buy another but Paula has one!! (har)
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Keep it right next to kitchen sink and coffee pot, thus easy access.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Great substitute for a food disposa.!

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I really like this crock! It looks nice on my kitchen counter and it holds quite a bit. The charcoal filters really keep odors at bay. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because the unglazed bottom of the base scratches countertops. And, as others have reviewed, the handle is really only for looks and not for actual use. I would definitely recommend this to a friend!

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Looks great on the counter. It would be helpful to have pads on the bottom so it doesn't scratch. I put clear nail polish along the bottom rim.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This thing is beautiful! I have it sitting on my kitchen counter instead of in the garage where we kept the old, ugly plastic one; and my husband and I both compost everything we can now. There is NO ODOR with the great filter in the lid and the biobags that fit inside keep me from having to scrape gunk out of the crock all the time. I really love this product!

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
We had one of these before, but an inquisitive cat knocked it off the bench in our kitchen. We wanted the same one, as it matches our kitchen perfectly and is the right size for our use.

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This crock is not only attractive, but makes composting so easy. It is very handy to keep right on the kitchen counter and add coffee & tea grounds, egg shells, fruit & vegetable rinds, right as you're preparing a meal. I know compost is not supposed to smell but I always expect it to anyway...I'm very pleased that so far I've noticed no smell from the crock...a definite plus!

Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This crock is great! I love the choice of colors and the charcoal liners in the lids makes the kitchen scraps virtually odor free, even onion!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
So cute. It doesn't even look like a compost container. It looks like a cookie jar.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I keep this lovely compost crock next to my sink to toss all fruit rinds, coffee grinds, egg shells, etc... into. It is just so pretty and compliments my kitchen beautifully. It's very convenient to have something in the kitchen that I can toss my garbage into and not have to make a ton of trips out to the composter in the yard. It has a filter in the lid so that your kitchen wont get sinky either. Great product, I love it!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
looks nice
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
This is very good looking and fits in nicely on my countertop. The colors match my kitchen and it is handy to use. The only drawback is trying to remove the biobag from the jar after it is full. The inside of the jar is wider than the opening, but this is a minor inconvenience.
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
I had been looking for a product that would be attractive on the counter to place food scraps, coffee grounds, etc. on their way out to the compost bin. This is a perfect solution!
Comments about Green Stoneware Compost Crock:
Exactly what I needed. Holds my kitchen scraps without any odor, and looks better on the counter than the old tupperware I was using. I typically leave scraps in the crock for a week at a time before I head out to the compost bin to dump it. I fill it to the rim and it never stinks up the kitchen. Its great!

I abosolutely love the stoneware compost crock. It is very decorative on my counter, oderless, non offensive to the eye and nose. It makes a great place to keep left overs for my chickens and also for composting. It has not attracted any insects or other pests. I may order a second one just for the chicken scraps. I thank you and my happy, healthy chickens thank you.

We enjoyed having this attractive crock on our kitchen counter for the collection of scraps for composting. However, on a number of occasions the metal handle easily came loose from the crock. Ultimately, despite attempts to tighten the attachment loops, I was left holding the handle with the crock shattered on the kitchen floor. Please redesign the handle for this item!

This is an attractive counter top container for garden compost scraps. The odor control in the top works well, and everything about it is ideal. Sometimes the handle is a small hassle, but not a big deal, and the non-conical shape means you need to shake it sometimes to empty. All in all, a much more attractive and very good solution to alternative containters.

This compost pail replaced a plastic, lidded container and sits on our kitchen counter to collect kitchen scraps destined for the outdoor compost bin. We like its look, its capacity, and we appreciate a lid that simply lifts off. But, goodness, it's made in China. like everything else! Might there be an American pottery out there that makes crockery?

This looks so nice sitting on my counter. No one knows it is a composting container unless I tell them. It looks like a nice cookie jar or flour canister. Thanks for helping me keep my kitchen looking nice
