Comments about Bamboo Compost Crock:

Have this sitting on my butcher block counter, so easy to just throw kitchen scraps in it as I prepare meals. It looks great, is a good size, easily cleaned and makes composting easy and stylish! I use the bio bags in it to keep things even cleaner. So only improvements I can think of are: Make it a little easier to use with the biobags (more lip on the liner perhaps?), and come up with a way to deal with the lid if you are leaving it open for awhile. Perhaps have it hinged, have a hook on the side, or even make it so it can stack under the crock while in use? Just a thought.

Comments about Bamboo Compost Crock:

I previously had a ceramic compost crock that fell off it's handle and cracked. It was still usable for a while but in a matter of months it had stains on the inside that no amount of scrubbing could get rid of. I decided to replace the ceramic crock with this bamboo crock and I love it! The inner canister makes it so easy to take kitchen scraps to the compost pile and keeping it clean is a cinch. It's much larger than the ceramic crock but still works well on my counter top. I'm so happy that I finally replaced the inferior crock I previously had with this fantastic product!

Cons:
Bamboo split, Pail handle is flimsy
Best Uses:
Coffee Grounds, Ecological Waste Disposal, Fruit Rinds, Kitchen Scraps
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Bamboo Compost Crock:

I loved this at first, but then out of the blue the bamboo split. It is still functional, but not attractive if turned the wrong way. Plus if any compost touches the lid, you may start to get mold on the lid. The metal handle on the pail also comes off easily if you have a full load in it, so make sure to carry the pail with both hands. I will be returning this and getting a different type.

Comments about Bamboo Compost Crock:

I use this bamboo crock for kitchen scraps. I usually have quite a lot of veg. scraps because I cook fresh whenever possible, and if you empty every couple of days in a larger composter, odor is no problem. The inner container is dishwasher safe, and as a bonus, it fits in beautifully with my kitchen! You really can't get any better than that!

We bought this countertop crock to put our kitchen scraps in before transferring them to a compost pail with a filter that we keep under the sink. We were attracted to the bamboo design, as it matches our kitchen cabinets. It is indeed very attractive, plus it also has a good capacity, and best of all it is easy to remove the liner to empty and clean it. Excellent design!

Comments about Bamboo Compost Crock:

Such a big improvement from the plastic container I previously was using. It's attractive, holds a lot and doesn't look ugly on my counter. Doesn't have charcoal to prevent odor so when you open it up to add more it still smells a bit, but you can control this by emptying more frequently.

Comments about Bamboo Compost Crock:

This is attractive and useful, with a removable, easy-to-clean interior bucket. The first time we took the bucket out, the handle released on the way to the compost bin, dumping garbage all over the lawn. My husband was quite scornful of the compost bin after that, and now I always take the compost out. However, it was a minor matter to bend the handle into a place where it did not disconnect from the bucket. The only problem is that when you make it tight enough to stay in, the ends of the handle stick out just a little too far and scrape the sides of the bamboo part, and then the bucket doesn't fit right. So you have to fiddle with it to get it to work right. That being said, I love the way it looks and fits into the kitchen decor, and since I fixed it, it has been fine.

Comments about Bamboo Compost Crock:

Beautiful container with really easy to remove and dump bucket inside. No odor at all when closed. It looks great in my kitchen and doesn't look at all like a compost crock. Only drawback is that there isn't much of a finish on the inside. Am thinking about putting on a light urethane finish, just to keep moisture from the veggies from making it damp.

Comments about Bamboo Compost Crock:

My last kitchen scrap compost pail was red ceramic, and though I loved the look, it was breakable and eventually broke. This bamboo kitchen scrap holder is even better- I LOVE the removable liner with handle that you just grab and head to the composter. It has a bigger capacity too, and for some reason there is no odor! It has an attractive, warm look, which would fit into about any kitchen. I couldn't be more pleased, unless it was free!

Comments about Bamboo Compost Crock:

We eat a lot of fruits and vegetables so we fill this container about once a day. This bamboo container is the most attractive one I've seen and the price here is better than on some other sites for the same product. Buy the "bio-bags" to go with it, they fit OK and they make cleaning the plastic bucket a snap.

Comments about Bamboo Compost Crock:

I use this compost container for kitchen scraps. It holds enough and keeps it out of the way until there is enough to make a trip to my garage worm composting bin. It does take up some space on the counter but it is for a good purpose!

Comments about Bamboo Compost Crock:

This is quite large, would not fit in small kitchen. Looks good with
our oak cabinets. I wonder if the plastic/nylon liner will hold up and
what I'll do if I have to replace it. I like the simple design better than the
others on the market with their ugly knobs.

Comments about Bamboo Compost Crock:

This bamboo container was purchased for my sister-in-law who, at 83, is a surfer who still goes to the beach twice a week and spends part of every day in her organic garden. Until we gave her this gift, she kept a can under the sink for scraps. She is very set in her ways, and has little storage room in her small kitchen, but it only took her a moment to fall in love with this bamboo container and put it to work. Now her friends are asking where it came from. Thank you!

Comments about Bamboo Compost Crock:

Very attractive, nice size for a small family. I love the removable pail and with the lid I do not notice any smells. (I like the fact that I don't need to keep buying disposible filters.) Problem: after 10 days of use it split the whole way down the side and the bottom fell out. Seems there is a glue holding issue. I am hoping they make some changes as I have read at least one other reviewer with this problem. I am also hoping they will replace mine without a hassle... up until this happened today I would have given it 5 stars all the way. I did so love it :>(

Comments about Bamboo Compost Crock:

I have tried a couple of kitchen compost collection containers. This one is the best. It is easy to open one handed, but still closes conpletely. It has a generous size. The plastic liner is easy to empty because of the handle. IT is also easy to clean and I don't have to purchase additional bags.

This container is actually better than I thought it would be. Having only used an old bowl for kitchen scraps and coffee grounds for nearly ten years, this was a great and long overdue improvement, and looks good with the natural maple cabinets in our kitchen.
