THIS PRODUCT IS MUCH BETTER AND STABLE THAN THE ALL PLASTIC ONE I BOUGHT SEVERAL YEARS AGO. THE HOPPER IS HUGE SO ONE FILLING GOES A LONG WAY AND THE DISPOSAL TUBE IS MORE CONVENIENT DUE TO IT'S HEIGHTH. NOT ONLY WOULD I RECOMMEND IT TO A FRIEND, I WOULD BUY IT FOR A FRIEND. IT IS PROFESSIONAL IN GRADE WHICH GOES TO PROVE 'YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.' IT WILL LAST ME A LONG, LONG TIME.
Comments about Tomato Press:
This product makes it very easy and quick to make homemade tomato sauce. The tomato press cut the time down to make homemade sauce by more than 1/2. Easy to use and a great time saver!
Comments about Tomato Press:
We love making our own tomato sauce and this tool makes processing the tomatoes an easy task!
Comments about Tomato Press:
I have been canning tomato sauce from my garden for years. I coveted this product and decided to buy it for this canning season. I hate the parboiling, peeling and it seemed this product would make these steps unnecessary. I got really thin juice when I put my tomatoes through, so I put them through a 2nd time. The result had no thickness, no bulk, no "meat". This isn't sauce, this is juice and there are a lot cheaper ways to make tomato juice.
So disappointed in Paeonian Springs, VA
Comments about Tomato Press:
Just a HINT for all of you sauce makers..if you roast your veggies & fruits in the oven on a cookie sheet, before using the press, the flavor is more intense & THE SAUCE IS THICKER WHEN YOU USE THE PRESS. You can also use herbs & spices when roasting for added flavor!
Comments about Tomato Press:
I use the product for removing seeds from berries, for jams and jellies. I use it with different screen for different jobs. I can't think of anything I don't like about it. I bought the one from you for a gift.
Comments about Tomato Press:
I had a huge tomato crop this year and was able to prepare the tomatoes for sauce in record time.

Comments about Tomato Press:
Fantastic!!! After losing over 100 lbs of tomatoes to the Blight last year, waiting for all the fruit to ripen, we decided to take another approach. This tomato press is the answer. After carefully reading and following directions for assembly, we were ready to go. It's easy to set up, easy to use, and easy to clean. We just processed the tomatoes that were ripe into sauce and storing the sauce in the freezer until we have enough to process a full run of Spaghetti Sauce. I was skeptical, thinking this was too good to be true. Boy, was I wrong. It was better than expected and made processing tomatoes fun!.
What a delight.

Comments about Tomato Press:
Does not work well with dense fruit (apples, plums). Used also with tomatoes, but removes too much flesh -- you end up with too much juice. Leaked around turn handle and where metal cone attaches to base. Plastic waste funnel very flimsy. Very difficult to disassemble after use, in order to clean. I do not recommend buying this product.

Comments about Tomato Press:
This press is fantastic! I was actually able to assemble it all by myself which is saying something since I am NOT mechanically inclined; but my husband was on a business trip, and the tomatoes couldn't wait. A job that normally took me all afternoon before was done in about an hour. My kids are very finicky about not wanting chunks or seeds in their tomatoes, and this produced a beautiful juicy pulp perfect for sauce or soup. Cleanup was super easy also. I'd give this item ten stars if I could

I purchased this for my daughter for Christmas so she hasn't had the opportunity to use it. I'm unable to rate this item at this time. It looks like a great item that she'll be able to use for her abundant harvest of tomatoes and apples.

Comments about Tomato Press:
What a terrific time-saver! Gave as a gift to our Oklahoma daughter & son-in-law who home can upwards of 80 quarts of tomatoes each year (plus lots of other stuff like pickles & okra)& they love it! No more blanching, peeling skins & dicing, which loses alot of the juice from the tomatoes. They like the salsa screen to get a "chunkier" style product & the standard screen for a sauce style product.

Comments about Tomato Press:
I've only used the Tomato Press once so far but really like it. We've had a Squeezo strainer for decades but it has some down sides (juice squirts during pureeing process, very hard to clean the strainer part and it gets plugged up when doing large quantities). We like how it has a splash guard and it didn't get plugged up. We are hoping the plastic parts will last but the price was much more reasonable than a Squeezo.

Comments about Tomato Press:
This was actually fun and easy to use. I decided not to waste my bumper tomato crop so I made tomato juice and tomato sauce which definitely tastes a lot better than commercially canned products and I know no chemicals were ever used. Worked great to make applesauce without all that peeling and coring nonsense. And if you have kids or grandkids, they will think it's really cool to help.

Comments about Tomato Press:
Great for separating skins and seeds from tomatoes.
Refeed seeds and skins to get maximum pulp & juices. No need to precook or blanch your tomatoes. Just cook down the residue and get great smooth tomato sauce. Real time saver. It would be nice if alternate screens came with the base package

Comments about Tomato Press:
This works GREAT!! I bought this with making salsa in mind for next year but we were able to use it this year after I purchased the additional parts for making GREAT grape juice from our own grapes. We canned the juice to drink and also made some jelly with some of it. It is very easy to assemble to use or disassemble for cleaning. I am completely happy with this and would highly recommend it to anyone that grows their own fruit and vegetables.

Comments about Tomato Press:
I couldn't be happier with this product. It was easy to set up and use. It was a great timesaver for me -- in the past, it's taken me 2 full afternoons to make spaghetti sauce, but this year, I got it done in just 4 hours! The suction cup realeased a couple of times, but it was easy to reset and get going again. I've recommended this to several of my friends.

Comments about Tomato Press:
Thus far have used this to process tomatoes to make sauce. Fits many pieces of tomato at once, so the work goes quickly. Unlike the product I used previously, this one leaves ample room for the two bowls that must be part of the process - one for the sauce to drop into and one for skin and seeds that will be discarded. The lever that is used to lower the rubber suction cup fell off and I could not figure out how to get it back on so it would work. But the clamping option is better anyway. Some pieces of tomato, more than on my old tomato press, remain stuck inside when the job is done, so I used a little extra to make up for that. But that is not a major drawback, because the amount remaining inside would not increase as more tomatoes are processed.

Comments about Tomato Press:
For anyone who grows more tomatos than they can consume, this appliance works wonderfully to make tomato sauce. Easy to set up and use. The sauce is a little "soupy" but tastes wonderful.

Comments about Tomato Press:
I've used it to make applesauce with apples that have been steamed, i.e. soft. It's difficult to put together, and if it's not done correctly it will separate from the pressure/force of the apples being processed. Hard to hold down and push fruit down at the same time. End product however is just what i was looking for. Should I look at an electronic juicing machine instead?

Comments about Tomato Press:
Had an abundance of tomatoes this year from my small garden. Helped me to use the tomatoes I could not dry. I was able to juice enough for about 30 cups of juice for future uses. I hate cleaning the thing though. Use a large bucket to catch the remnants as you wash and clean it. Dump bucket water into compost bin.

Comments about Tomato Press:
The puree was very watery, with very little pulp with the screen provided, so I bought the salsa screen. The results were chunkier, although some seeds remained. All and all, a lot quicker and easier than the blanch, peel, squeeze, chop method, so I'm very pleased with it.

Comments about Tomato Press:
After using this machine for about a month, I have a revised review of it. Don't ever totally disassemble this machine. Getting the suction cup to slot correctly into the plastic cup is enough to try the patience of Job. If it is not inserted just right, the unit will not provide suction to the counter. I hope it doesn't get a patent. It needs serious redesigning. And now, I would not recommend it to anyone rdgless of how fast it processes tomatoes. Overprice for the quality of the machine. Why designers have plastic parts screwing into metal is beyond me.
Comments about Tomato Press:
This product is great. Easy to use and works really well.
Comments about Tomato Press:
I have mainly used the press to make tomatoe sauceand am thouroughly plesaed. Easy to use and clean and makes the process go quicker.
Comments about Tomato Press:
I have used a tomato press like this for years, and I love how easy it is to use. I have a suggestion if you are making spaghetti sauce....if you cut up the tomatoes first and place them in a microwave safe bowl and microwave them for a good 10 minutes, then dump them into a strainer in your sink before running them through the press. This will remove a lot of the water and saves time cooking. Plus they are softer and easier to run through the press.
Enjoy!
Comments about Tomato Press:
Processed 100 poounds of tomatoes in less than an hour. Easy to use, easy to clean.
It is a little bulky but WOW I'm impressed with its stability and versatility.

Comments about Tomato Press:
I agree with another reviewer in that you need one person to turn the crank & another to shovel tomatoes into the hopper to really quickly process the tomatoes. It took a bit of adjusting to get the unit secure on the granite countertop, turn the crank & push the tomatoes into the hopper's hole. A spike on the end of the plunger would be nice to pierce the tomatoes rather than cutting beforehand. This would be esp. helpful for cherry tomatoes. I processed about 1 1/2 gal. of tomatoes in about 1 hr which is great vs. cooking on the stove. I would recommend this to a friend with the above stipulations. I was, however, a bit disappointed in the quality for the price. Too bad it is made in China.
Comments about Tomato Press:
I bought this to puree tomatoes for freezing from my huge garden. It works just as advertised--separates the skins and seeds from the pulp--and was easy to assemble and also easy to take apart and wash. I will probably buy the salsa screen so that I can also preserve my tomatoes with chunks as well as the puree.

Comments about Tomato Press:
Your tomato press turns a big job into a simple one. I made the most delicious applesauce which was far superior to purchased sauce and much more nutritious. I'll be making tomato sauce when my tomatoes are ready. I know the press will provide a good quality sauce.[...]

Comments about Tomato Press:
This press is amazing - I easily processed 40 pounds of tomatoes. It is, in my estimation, flawless. Easy to put together, easy to take apart and clean, NOT messy.
Comments about Tomato Press:
My husband and grandchldren make a date to make applesauce after going to the orchard to pick apples. They enjoyed it so much we had to get one for their Mom. Be sure to put newspapers on the floor..the enthusiasm causes some spillage. I also use it to make tomato sauce in season
Comments about Tomato Press:
I used it to can tomato juice, it was a real timesaver and greatly reduced the effort compared to other saucer gadgets I've used. Clean up is easy. I plan to use it to make applesauce next... having to NOT peel or core the apples will save so much time. Coolest kitchen canning tool ever!!

Comments about Tomato Press:
The great thing is that not only does it have a suction base, it also has a clamp to secure it to your table.
Comments about Tomato Press:
Canning tomatoes was much easier when I used this machine. I loathe deseeding and peeling tomatoes. With this machine, the work was cut in half.
Comments about Tomato Press:
I was able to process 40 pounds of tomatoes very quickly, on two occasions. This press does just what it says it does, and easily. I have enthusiastically talked it up to my friends. Easy to put together and use, easy to take apart to clean and store.
Comments about Tomato Press:
I used this to process our tomatoes this year. It was much easier than the blender and food mill that I have used in the past. A few seeds got through, but they always did any way! I haven't used it for any thing other than tomatoes yet, but can see myself processing other produce with it. The press stayed put on my ceramic stove top and didn't slip. It is a little high for me, but stood on my kitchen stool and it worked perfectly. I loved it. I would definately recommend this to others!
Comments about Tomato Press:
This item makes it so easy to get tomatoes ready for sauce...a one step operation. No need to peel, and after the first use thru the pump, you can put them back thru to get every last drop of goodness out and leave only the seeds & skin!

Comments about Tomato Press:
We had a ton of tomatoes from the garden that I wanted to turn into tomato sauce and store. After some research i decided to press and freeze them for later use. this machine made the task so easy. My four year old was in charge of turning while I loaded the hopper. we now have fresh tomato sauce ready to go for use this winter. I love this machine.

[...] I purchased it as a gift for my mom, and unfortunately, it fell apart on the first use! The casing thatheld the crank cracked in the first 5 minutes of use, as did the plastic waste dispenser.A great idea, but you get what you pay for. Beware.

Comments about Tomato Press:
I am enjoying using my tomato press and freezing the sauce--cooked or just plain. Roma tomatoes work best. It's best to reprocess the pulp several times to get out all the juice. I'm afraid that the spout attachment will break easily. right now it's working well.
Comments about Tomato Press:
After years of processing garden goodies and making messes this is a delight.
Comments about Tomato Press:
This product was easy to set up and use. I had my four year old son turn the handle while I guided the tomatos in. We were done with about 15 tomatoes in 10 minutes. Clean up was really simple too. I can't wait to do my next batch of ripe tomatos. It was exactly the tool I'd been looking for,
Comments about Tomato Press:
This has saved us a tremendous amount of time and mess this busy canning season!! I can't believe how quickly tomatoes are skinned and seeded and how much sauce is wrung out of each tomato.
Comments about Tomato Press:
I have used a Victorio Strainer for years. I gave mine to my mother after hers broke after decades of use. This is my replacement.
I like the guard around the strainer cone...it keeps stray squirts to a minimum. I am satisfied after one use. It was a little hard to put together the first time. My husband had to muscle on the strainer, but I think this will work out after a few uses.
Very similar form and function to the Victorio.
Comments about Tomato Press:
Easy to use once assembled. Suction cup could be better, but clamp works well. Smooth tomatoes with easily disposable waste. Real time saver!
Comments about Tomato Press:
Used for tomato sauce, easy to clean, no negatives
