    These looked very lovely on the website--I had my eye on them over the last 1-2 holiday seasons, and finally caved when the price came down.

    They look absolutely enchanting on the website---but in person, they are OK but not quite as magical.

    The set that I just received suffered from some sloppy application of the painted finish, and colors that were substantially duller than what the website photo shows.

    For the price that I paid, I'm happy enough with them, and I'm sure they'll look very nice in a holiday display when the light is dim and forgiving.

    I am a budget shopper with very high-end taste. But these are so worth the money! These are lovely real-glass houses; well-made and larger than I thought they would be. I also have the other set and together they all make quite a statement on the coffee table at Christmas. They are extremely durable, as they accidently were dumped by our 2 Lab puppies on their first night. Other than cleaning up the melted wax (and putting puppies in time-out forever!) they were in perfect shape! My granddaughters LOVE Gramma's castles!

    I love the houses. With their intricate construction, they look much more expensive than they are. However, the LED tea lights are too short to illuminate them to their best advantage. The light doesn't reach the upper parts of the windows. I tried real votive candles, which looked great, but I worried about them being a fire hazard. I wonder if there are LED lights in a votive or taller size.

    From comments I head read about the glass houses, I expected them to be attractive for Christmas decor, but I never anticipated how cute they look mixed in with the Halloween decorations. I placed miniature jack o'lanterns around them. The gothic design of the houses fit right in with the 'spooky' theme. These are definitely all-season decorations.

    I've tried many different brands of candles in these laterns. All of them are lovely when they burn, and all of them leave a melted mess not only in the lantern, but all over the mantle. Its frustrating because they are so attractive.

    Gardener's Supply Company Response: We recommend using LED Tea Lights with our Glass Houses. The LED version remains cool and looks just like a regular tea light; it even flickers. Runs for 35 hours on replaceable lithium batteries.

    Because these look like churches we use them to decorate our church for the hollidays. They are beautiful setting on a base of Christmas greens or surrounded with fall flowers. We have used them as table decorations, in the church windows, and even on the alter. Several members have them so we can use them at home or bring them all together for a special decoration at the church.
