I don't have a built-in shower seat, which I need for sitting down at times, to shave legs, storage, etc. The stool is built extremely well, like a high-end piece of furniture. It fit perfectly in the shower corner. The shades and grains, and artistic design of the stool is gorgeous. I didn't really want to spend as much as I did, but after seeing it, it was worth it. We had a new large shower built, and we wanted a stool rather than a built-in bench. We bought this teak stool, and it was so great that we bought a second for the other corner. We use one to sit on or rest our foot on, the other for holding shampoo, soap, etc. (we preferred matching items to a teak shelf stand). Only minor issue is that the legs are perfectly level, but the shower slopes slightly. A simple solution was tapping in a circular chair slide in the bottom of the front leg, which leveled them perfectly (I bought it at the local hardware store). We are thrilled with the benches. I originally purchased this to use in the shower after I had foot surgery. However, after it arrived, I liked the wood so much I didn't want the color to change. Since I didn't have time to varnish the wood, I ended up using the stool in various places in my apartment that I needed to sit to perform various activities (laundry, putting on shoes, etc.). The sloping seat helped me feel more secure.

I bought the stool with the intent of placing it in our newly remodeled shower...a shower with a floor that slopes toward the drain. While the stool looks great in the shower, it's utility is limited. The legs aren't adjustable, as a result unless we figure a way to modify the front leg the stool will not meet our needs, and it will not be safe. And for the price, that will mean money wasted.

Have been waiting to buy a bath bench til I found the right one and this is it. Quite sturdy, came assembled, is rather heavy, and looks like it will last years and years. Kind of pricey, but worth it so that's fine. Also fits nicely in the corner of our not so big walk-in shower. I added a hammered in chair leg glider to the base of the center front leg so it will be level on our sloping shower floor and it's perfect.

I purchased the teak stool for our new XL shower. I felt it needed something and the teak stool was perfect! It just the right size, perfect height. It's a piece of art, it's put together in such a way that the wood grain is used in the design. Very nice finish, I hope to keep it conditioned so it doesn't silver, silvering is a nice feature for outside but not in a shower. I think my new bathroom is now magazine cover quality. The only thing I think could be improved is if it had rubber pads on the bottom. I have a pebble shower floor and it might be hard on the bare wood. We'll add the pads ourselves. We are about to remodel another shower in the house and I'll be ordering another stool. I have to add kudos to Gardener's supply, I placed the order on Sunday and the box was on the porch on Friday when I got home from work. I live in Hawaii, that fellow online shoppers is unheard of in Hawaii!! The best we can usually hope for is 7-10 working days!
