A rain gauge from Colonial times inspired this intriguing reproduction, crafted from brass and stainless steel. As rainwater fills the glass vial, a float and lever system displays the amount in 1/4" increments. Large, stencil-cut numbers allow you to gauge rainfall at a glance.

We live in the Sonoran Desert and occasionally get rain. I ordered this rain gauge and it arrived the day AFTER we received four straight days of rain!! Oh well, it'll rain again someday. We love the way it looks. Functional yard art -- very cool!!

I gave this to my sister who is a Master Gardner and she loved it. She has yard art all over her yard and this adds a purpose with an artful look. My hope is that the Jefferson Rain Guage will last many winters, springs, summers, and falls, and will age gracefully and beautifully and still provide its purpose.
