Bought this as a gift for my father, he was excited and put it up right away. The only draw back so far is that it cannot be read at night and he works night shift, dark when he leaves and dark when he returns home, so he likes to know the temperature before leaving the house.

I placed this on the bedroom window that is opened a few inches at night. It shows a warmer temp that TV. This is logical, but it seems to do it when the window is closed. The basic thermometer is perfect for the gardener who tracks the weather. One of the best features is its reporting of the daily high and low temps. Easy to read, it's handy to glance at throughout the day to help you plan. Curiosity is not satisfied after dark, however. Since this is on my window, when the outside light goes, so does the ability to see what the display reads. Remember to remove the plastic film which has preprinted display info on it. I didn't and couldn't read it at first, because the film overlaid the actual readings! (Felt a little dumb about that.) Once I removed that, it was great. This is definitely worth the price. It is one handy gadget.

Love this thermometer. It is unobtrusive and sleek looking, barely noticeable but easy to read, even without my glasses. Yes, at night it cannot be read without some light behind it, but I have found that if you shine a flashlight on it the temp is read easily enough. One caveat: Think about how your window opens before you put it on. I did have to move mine because it was impeding the opening of the window, but the tape holding it worked just as well in the second placement. Very pleased with this thermometer.

I have owned this product for about 11 months. Up until a week ago I would have given it four stars. It worked great until I had to change the battery. After the new battery was installed, it worked fine for about 3 or 4 days, at which time the display went out. Thinking maybe I had gotten a bad battery, I tried inserting another one but couldn't get the display to stay on for more than a few seconds. The thing is still under warranty, but it would cost more to ship it back to the manufacturer than would make sense to pay. I can buy a similar product at a local retailer for [$]. I wouldn't buy this product again or recommend it to anyone.

Very nice unobtrusive design. The hardest part is to find a window that doesn't get direct sunlight. In direct sunlight the readings are far off, too high. But in a shadier spot, it is accurate.

Love this thermometer! Easily visible from across the room. Does not measure low enough temps here in western NY. Heat from house on single-paned window affects accuracy by several degrees. Unsure if adhesive will allow moving it without needing new adhesive. It was difficult to clean between the thermometer and glass when a bird collided with the window leaving a mess that ran under it. Pros really outweigh cons.

This thermometer has even been improved since I bought a one a few years ago. It's very easy for my elderly mother to read. However, my only complaint is that it cannot be moved successfully. Does the job well. No directions, but is pretty logical to assemble. Difficult to read when facing directly, easier to see digits when at a slight angle. Didn't understand the Max/Min (high/low) temps and went on-line to find out. They reset every 12 hours ... first the Max, then 12 hours later the Min. Kind of a joke. Unless you know "when" it reset, then what value is the reading? Looks nice.

This product is most helpful because I have orchids that cannot tolerate temperatures below 50 and even though I live in Florida, we actually do get nights that reach below that during the winter. The temperature reads both highest and lowest and I know right away if I need to bring them inside or can leave them out. The numbers are very large and easily read without having to find the glasses.

It is great when it works and I would buy it again and again. On one, after easily configuring, the temperature would not change. On another it did not work at all after needing a new battery and using three different ones. But the other 5 I have bought have consistantly worked great. I just shine a flashlight on it to read at night.

We have found this little item very useful. In Cincinnati, even an inch of snow, much less ice, can lock down the city, closing schools, etc. Normal outdoor thermometers here are hard to place because either they are in the sun or out of sight of the house. This one places easily on the outside of a window that is never in the sun and gives us the information we need.
The only drawback of the device is the fact that it is just about impossible to read it at night, when I sometimes want to see the temperature.

This is a nice little window thermometer that is perfect for my kitchen window. It also happens to be the window where the bird feeders are located so it is nice to check everything at once. It is sensitive to the sunlight so it needs to be located away from the direct sunlight. You can not read it a night. Can not beat the price.

I should believe the bad reviews on this product. The thermometer fell to the ground only after the 2nd day we installed it and it just went dead. My husband made sure that we clean the window well before he installed it. Before we installed it, we noticed that the adhesive seems a bit melted.

The thermometer was easy to set up. The batteries that came with it didn't work. The adhesive didn't work too well. However, with double-sticky tape and new batteries, it's been reliable, accurate and durable. That is despite a couple of tumbles it took before I changed the tape.
