Love the size of this wrap, it holds heat well also. It does take a bit of getting used to when you put it on your back while seated, but it can be done and in no time you'll be expert. The only complaint is that the seeds are slipping out of a few sewn compartment to another, so you have some bulges and some are nearly empty. I wish the seams were double sewn to keep this from happening. Would I buy this for gifts, yes I will and if mine falls apart at some point I'll buy another. Really great product, almost perfect! I use my daily, some days several times.

This flax and rice pack warmed in the microwave is so much more soothing to the pain and spasms in my back and neck than a moist heating pad and I can use it anywhere. It is very easy to warm in the microwave. On very cold winter mornings I use it to warm the back of my car seat before I travel.

I love the size of this thing but it breaks down too quickly and needs replaced. The sewing on the inside that holds the beads rips apart allowing for areas to not be consistantly smooth and therefore some parts are warms but really lumpy. this item needs stronger reinforced insides so the product doesn't break down. This is the second one that has 'fallen apart' on me and I use it according to instructions so it is nothing I am doing wrong.

I purchased several of these for gifts and one for my own use. I've already purchased more again, and hope that they are still available next year for Christmas. I use this for myself, and even use one for my older cat - I put it inside a blanket and she lays on it. Perfect size - large enough to cover lower back/hips - but small enough not to be terribly cumbersome to microwave. Nice moist heat - can leave on without concerns over burning myself. I use this for RSD/chronic pain management. Only thing I don't like is the cover - that you have to take the pack out of the cover to microwave it (cover has a metal zipper) and that there's no button or anything to attach the pack to the cover (the warm pack can slide down to the bottom of the cover). - otherwise - fantastic!

I found this product to be well made, but it took longer to heat up in the microwave than expected. Also, it did not seem to retain the heat for long, considering the amount of time it took to microwave it in the 1st place. (I have to heat it for almost 5 minutes, and I have a brand new updated microwave!) Nevertheless, I really like the soft pillow case and the fact that it is washable, making this a functional product for the sale price.

Takes more time in microwave to heat than recommended. I do TWO times at 2 minutes. I'm always afraid to overheat one portion of this large warmer but will occasionally do longer. It's great; especially to cover the entire trapezius muscle from high in your neck all the way down between your shoulder blades. Other warmers are better for small spot heating. Good, moist heat.

This is better than the mat they used on my back during physical therapy! The weight is just right to help the heat penetrate and the size is big enough so it's easy to get onto your back independently. I would have liked the option for lavender scented. This product is wonderful. I have arthritis in my lower back. I heat this up in the evening and let it help relax my back muscles as I watch TV/read. my mother bought this and the lumbar wrap for my fiance and i for christmas 2010, and she's already gotten her money's worth out of them! my fiance (age 35) has arthritis in his neck, mild scoliosis and fibromialgia. he takes presciption medication for his arthritis, which helps a little. however, he noticed a HUGE change in how he felt when he used this combo on the couch and even slept with them last night. they are soft and comfortable enough for him to sleep on shirtless. he woke up this morning with almost none of his normal daily pain! he felt safe sleeping with them as opposed to other heat type products that can burn you if you leave them on for too long, which these don't do.

as for myself (age 29,) i have chronic back pain due to several severe back injuries and i carry a lot of weight in my breasts, which are a size "h." yes, that size exists! i see a pain management doctor and am prescribed a large amount of narcotic pain killers and muscle relaxers. i tried the combo of the 2 products first and was simply astounded at how quickly and how well they relieved my pain with no medication in my system. i plan on taking a nap with both of them today and can't wait to see how good i feel when i wake up! both products have been miracle workers so far and i am VERY thankful to have them! HIGHLY recommended!

my only 2 complaints are that a) i'd like prettier color options, like blue or green and b) the heat could last a little longer than it does without having to reheat.... but then again, if the heat lasted longer, there would be the chance of getting burned, like with other products, so perhaps that's not really much of a complaint! This is by far the largest mat I've found that you can heat in your microwave and then use anywhere on your body for warm, moist heat. And when I say moist, I mean it. When I first took mine out of the microwave, it was steaming! I use this product whenever my muscles are sore and crampy. I also suffer from chronic back pain and chronic pelvic pain, and heat helps both conditions. (Obviously it's hotter if you lie on it than lay it on you, so be careful when deciding how long to put it in the microwave for.) I loved this product so much that I have purchased one for everyone in my family and the friends of mine that I know suffer from some type of pain. All recipients loved them and have turned around and bought them for others! In fact, I told my pain clinic about these mats (they were aware of other mats, but none so large) and they now routinely refer people to Gardener's Supply for this item. Now all I wonder is whether I can get a commission for each one sold based on my direct or indirect referral??

I LOVE this mat! I have purchased two of them and find them to be very useful with post-workout relaxation. I also use them, during the winter, in lieu of an electric blanket in bed.

I like the fact that it heats quickly in the microwave, there's no electric element in the item, so it is safe to use overnight and with pets.

The only minor drawback is, of course, that it doesn't stay warm longer, but that is to be expected with an organic product with no wires.

This was a gift to a suffering relative; so far I don't know if has worked well for her. I warmed it in the microwave, which was tedious, due to folding and refolding, then microwaving in 30 second intervals for 4 minutes. I think having someone else warm it, then lay it out on your back would be best. However, it did hold heat well and I can see it is very useful. It came unscented, which was perfect for this particular recipient. I would have chosen a lavender scent for my own personal use. She really loved the aquamarine color, as her home overlooks the Pacific Ocean, in San Diego, California.

Absolutely love this item. The first time I took it out of the microwave, I knew it was a winner because it was literally steaming! I've found other flax, corn, or rice filled products that promise to provide warmth, but none provide the level of moist heat this one provides - and those of us with some types of chronic pain know that, when it comes to heat, moist heat is the best way to go. I also love the large size of this item. After purchasing one for myself, I've purchased three more for gifts, and each and every one has been used extensively. It's the perfect gift for you or a friend who has any type of pain - or just finds the heat soothing. I won't travel without mine (provided a microwave is available where I'll be). The cover comes off and is easy to wash.

I am now recovering at home from recent herniated disk back surgery. I heat this and spread it out on the bed just before I get in. I recently told a friend about it and she asked, "How long does it stay warm?" My response was, "I don't know because I go right to sleep." When I wake up in the middle of the night,I take about 4 minutes to warm it (and thus the bed)and go right back to sleep again. Obviously this helps my pain and helps me sleep--I don't think people heal if they can't sleep. I fold and turn it in various ways, microwaving it 55 seconds twice and 50 seconds twice. At first this seemed a lot of trouble--but since the results are so wonderful I don't care and doing so does not keep me awake in the middle of the night.
