(based on 187 ratings)
Located in: GSC Site Catalog, Gardening, Garden Essentials

We’ve found most knee pads to be pretty uncomfortable, but not these! They're so comfortable, it’s easy to forget you’re even wearing them. The soft and stretchy knit fabric encloses a 1/2"-thick gel pad that cushions your knees and helps keep them dry. Fully adjustable hook and loop straps don’t interfere with kneeling or walking.

  • Comfortable, durable and flexible protection for your knees
  • Can be worn over pants or with shorts
  • One size fits most
  • Choice of Willow, Rose or Indigo

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

I was very excited when I got these since I've found other pads to be too tight in the back of my knees. The weather was cool and I was wearing pants most of the time. The pads fit well and were so easy to use and very comfortable. But when it got hotter and I started wearing shorts, I couldn't get them to close so that they stayed in place. They fall down now. AND, something in the closure scratches the back of my knee making them VERY uncomfortable.
I would definitely recommend them to use with pants. But not with shorts.

Best Uses:
Gardening, Lawn Maintenance

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

Kneeling mats are not convenient to use. Most knee pads are too constricting for gardening. These are light weight, mostly stay positioned correctly, are comfortable to the knees, easy to get on and off and wash up nicely.

Great Product
By DeeVerified Purchaser from Bolingbroke, GA on 5/28/2011
Pros:
Good protection, Lightweight, Solid Construction, Washable
Cons:
Velcro not tight enough
Best Uses:
Anytime you need to kneel, Gardening
Describe Yourself:
Avid Gardener
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

These provide the best protection I have found for kneeling. Since you wear them, you are not constantly having to locate and/or move them. When gardening, I seem to do a lot of walking on my knees. They would be even better if there was a little more velcro so they could be tightened a little more. They are fine when wearing jeans, but in shorts, they are a little loose.

Not what I had hoped
By ChristyVerified Purchaser from Kennesaw, GA on 5/27/2011
Pros:
Comfortable Grip, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Solid Construction
Cons:
Too thin
Best Uses:
Gardening
Describe Yourself:
Avid Gardener
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

I had such high hopes when I ordered these knee pads but I found they slide down just as bad as the other brands I have used. The major complaint I have with this product is the padding is too thin - after wearing them the first day of gardening my knees where very sore and buised. I have gone back to the thicker pads.

pretty good knee pads
By PJVerified Purchaser from CT on 5/27/2011
Pros:
Easy To Use, Lightweight
Cons:
Deteriorates, Slips
Best Uses:
Gardening, Lawn Maintenance
Describe Yourself:
Avid Gardener
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

These are not as heavy nor durable as some knee protection but, much more convenient than carting a kneeler around. The velcro pulls all the way around, which is good for me as I'm small. I wore them while working in my gravel drive and though they did protect me somewhat they could be thicker and, unfortunately, the gravel tore them up somewhat. Tougher fabric would be a plus.

Very comfortable
By CasaLindaVerified Purchaser from Concord, CA on 5/27/2011
Pros:
Easy To Use, Lightweight
Best Uses:
Gardening, Photography
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

These kneepads are perfect for taking the pain out of kneeling. I use them for gardening as well as photography. I do a lot of macro photography, which often requires getting down on the ground and my knees can take a beating. I'm satisfied with them, but I haven't had to kneel on any rocky ground, yet, so I still have to see how the gel holds up with that kind of use. Their flexible comfort makes them a winner regardless.

Cons:
THEY SLIP DOWN
Best Uses:

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

I recently bought these to use while gardening. They're comfortable & light weight, but one tends to slip down. I have to pull the velcro tab past its counterpart & attach to the fabric portion. Too bad there's no other way to tighten them.

Best Uses:

Bottom Line:

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

I really was hoping these would be THE answer to my long search for a comfortable knee pad. They keep slipping off my knee whenever I stand up. I even made the velcro fasteners shorter... but the actual fabric of the pad is too stretchy to allow the pads to stay on my knees!

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

I read the reviews and thought they would fit over my sweat pants without creeping down, but they did not stay put. If they can solve the fit problem they would be wonderful!

Pros:
Lightweight
Cons:
Difficult to Use, Fit
Best Uses:
Gardening
Describe Yourself:
Avid Gardener
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

I was really hopeful that these would be great knee pads, but I was very disappointed in them. They are comfortable for as long as you can keep them on! They are continually falling down your legs. Part of the problem is that you can't get them tight enough. It is like they are sized for MEN not women even thought the picture shows a women (I am an average size women, maybe even on the chubby side). Also, there is no right or left. One of them has to have the straps on the inside of your leg so they are forever getting unhooked as you walk. What a waste of money!

GOOD BUT NOT GREAT

Cons:

Bottom Line:

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

I WEAR MY KNEE PADS ALL THE TIME I AM WORKING IN MY GARDEN. WHEN PLANTING, WEEDING AND FERTILIZING, I DO A LOT OF KNEELING. UNFORTUNATELY, THE KNEE PADS TEND TO SLIDE DOWN AND LEAVE MY KNEE UNPROTECTED. I HAVE TO PULL THEM UP SEVERAL TIMES. THE KNEE PADS DO A GREAT JOB PADDING MY KNEES WHEN THEY ARE IN PLACE AND I WILL CONTINUE TO USE THEM

Pros:

Cons:
A bit large
Best Uses:

Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

I've had those carry along knee rests, which I never used. I have enough to carry from place to place without having to carry knee rests. I deal with flooring installers who depend on knee pads, so I thought I'd give these a try. They are very comfortable and not too bulky, which was my concern. I'm small, so they tend to slide down my legs occasionally. With that said, they have made my gardening much more comfortable and I plan to give them as gifts to my gardening friends.

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

My knees have an allergic reaction if I press too long into grass while gardening. I got these and I'd like them more if the bands could adjust for a tighter fit. They are constantly falling down my shins.

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

They are great and allow for a lot of movement in the garden.  I just wish they had better size adjustment.  The velcro strips are not very long so the straps stretch and are always slipping.  I have an average size, not small, woman so I assume many women have this problem.  The product was made to expand so they should have started with a smaller size.  I do love the freedom of movement they give.

I am going to get a pair to wash my cermanic floors. Ladies you do not have to suffer, try them!! you will be glad that you did.

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

Love that these are machine washable!
Very comfortable, easy to put on and just forget about them. I have a tender knee due to past surgery and these allow me to get on my knees to dig in the dirt.
There is no hard protection, though. If you get on your knees and land on a sharp stick, thorn, or nail, they might poke through. The knee pads are fabric with gel-like padding.

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

Product feels good to touch and comfortable when on, velcro great idea but will it get full of dirt? Colors super. Only con is that once you put them on and take a step they start and continue to walk down you leg. Or am I doing something wrong? I wear flannel lined cotton pants & jeans and it is the same on both materials.

Cons:

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

I'd been looking for good knee pads as I hate having to move knee cushions with me. I always get tired of it and end up with sorry knees. These gel knee pads are comfortable and always with me. My only beef is that some of the strap stitching came out first time I used them. By that time they were muddy and I didn't feel I could return them. I restitched by hand but was annoyed at having to do so.

Low back saver but needs longer velcro
By Miss EmVerified Purchaser from Southern New Hampshire on 4/26/2011
Pros:
Easy To Use, Lightweight
Best Uses:
Gardening
Describe Yourself:
Avid Gardener
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

I have slender legs and have found that the length of the velcro is insufficient for me to pull tightly enough to keep these from sliding down my lower leg. I have juryrigged them to 'fix' the problem, though it is not completely satisfactory. On the positive side, with these on and in place properly I find myself doing less bending over from the waist, which is better for my low back.

Pros:

Cons:

Bottom Line:

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

My legs are average size and I have used velcro strapped knee pads before with no problem keeping them in place. These pads are not stiff enough and because they have the same slippery material on the back side, they do not stay in place. I had them tightened as far as the velcro let me and they still slid down my leggs. They need to be re-designed.

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

I am in my early 40's and in good shape so I can usually garden for 6-7 hours at a time. My back hurts horribly afterwards, and it takes me a day or two to recoup. I used these the other day, for this time span, and my back did not hurt! The gel allows the body weight to shift while I am on my knees, and somehow that takes the strain off my back. I just bought a pair for my mom.

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

Since so many people have repeated many pros and cons I will not continue to repeat HOWEVER it would be nice to see some adjustments to your nice product. I've now purchased two pairs and am thinking of another for various use. I have two knee replacements and these pads have been helpful in doing floor exercises in my yoga class BUT since I have larger knees and calves than some women and the straps with the velcro part are short they have tended to pop open in yoga, housework and gardening.

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

Pads slip down all the way off my knees. Need to be offered in smaller sizes and to have the items marked for top and bottom of pad, as well as a RT and LFT pad. I'll try to criss cross the velcro straps like another review recommended she had to do, but will probably return item.

Too big; won't stay in place
By KarenVerified Purchaser from New Mexico on 11/9/2010
Pros:
Lightweight, Reasonably comfortable
Cons:
Padding could be thicker, Too big, Won't stay in place

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

These seem to be designed for people with really thick legs. I can't get them tight enough; the straps need to be shorter or have longer strips of velcro. Ended up using safety pins to hold them in place, otherwise they ended up around my ankles within minutes.

Pros:
Easy To Use, Lightweight
Best Uses:
Gardening
Describe Yourself:
Avid Gardener
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

Haven't actally used these yet. There is not much adjustment room with the velcro fasteners for size. I may spend a lot of time yanking them back up because I can't get them quite tight enough and it seems they want to slide down my leg. They will serve the purpose of protecting my knees while I garden in raised beds surrounded by aggregate here in AZ where everything is hard. They are made well enough to serve the purpose, though the stitiching is a little irregular. I like that they are light weight and very flexible.

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

The two pads are identical instead of being a left and right so the loose ends of one pair of Velcro straps is between your knees and keeps rubbing as you move around. I have solved the problem by turning pad one upside down, but they do have a top and bottom so that's a little weird.

Pros:
Easy To Use, Lightweight
Best Uses:
Gardening
Describe Yourself:
Avid Gardener
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

They can be challenging (but not impossible)to wear with shorts because the adjustable straps don't get small enough for me. I usually criss-cross the straps in back to take up a little of the length. If I'm not walking around a lot it is fine. This weekend I was on my knees for over an hour spreading bark mulch under winter creeper on hill and would not have volunteered for the task if it wasn't for these knee pads. Over pants they are great.

Don't yet know how they will hold up to use and washing.

Comfortable but not "stationary"
By Rosie the gardenerVerified Purchaser from Woodbury, CT on 8/18/2010
Pros:
Lightweight
Cons:
Difficult to Use
Describe Yourself:
Avid Gardener
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

While the "stretchy" knee pads are, indeed, lightweight and comfortable, they do not stay in place. No matter what trousers I used them with, the padded area constantly moved from the knee toward the side of the leg. I had to continually "reposition" the knee pads every few minutes when working on any project.

At this point, I've gone back to using my old, uncomfortable but stationary knee pads.

I could not recommend this product to other consumers.

Like the item, definitely comfortable to wear. But will probably use it only indoors from now on. Knees were uncomfortable, could feel every rock and clod through the lightweight material, and movement actually rubbed my skin raw. Machine laundered very well.

Bottom Line:

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

This product looked like a great idea since I am getting calluses on my bare knees after a lot of weeding on my knees. These things will not stay put on bare legs. Use over pant legs is not much better. They keep slipping down unless I fasten them so thight that it cuts off circulation. No, I am not big. Not surprised to see them on sale, but they are still not worth the $$.

By Chris the GardenerVerified Purchaser from Auburn, Maine on 7/19/2010
Cons:

Describe Yourself:

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

I like the style and the gel to kneel on, but the left knee keeps getting caught because it should attach on the outside, so there would be a left and right knee pad. The fabric dents into my knees and it ends up burning and hurting my knees.

Very lightweight. Not so easy to put on and stay on. Knees are sweaty when I take them off. A lot easier than trying to place a kneeling pad where something is planted. I think the velcro straps should be longer.

Pros:
Easy To Use, Solid Construction
Cons:
Warm when worn for long
Best Uses:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

I use these any time I have to get down on my knees--weeding, planting, cleaning the pond. They are easy to strap on and off, they don't shift out of position when walking, they're thick enough to protect even when kneeling on rocks. I like them much better than my kneeling bench, because I don't have to get up and move the bench each time I need to move to a new spot. Only drawback is, they tend to make my knees perspire when I wear them for long periods of time--a minor complaint.

Best Uses:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

I like them but these knee pads are made for only big people. I'm average, 6'3" and 121 lb. Cannot use them. They slide down my knees so easily no matter how tightly I wrap around. Finally, I sewed the Vel Crow part so they can be tighter, but they still slide. Wish the shape is little longer to accommodate some sliding, also wish the Vel Crow parts are attached to not too near knees where there is too much movement. It is also not water resistant. They get wet and so are my knees. I love everything else about this product though - material, color, ease of use, durability. Please keep improving this product.

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

I finally decided to give my tired old knees a break and invest in a pair of quality knee pads, hoping they would be more convenient than having to tote around a kneeling pad. Well, unless your knees have the girth of a Giant Sequoia, don't expect these to stay where they are most needed. They seem to want, more than anything, to be ankle gaitors--and very ungainly ones, at that. Don't waste your money on these, unless, as I said above, you have really large knees (For reference, I am 5'7", 140 lbs with average size knees) If you can keep them up, they are very comfortable. But, as I said, IF YOU CAN KEEP THEM UP!

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

The material is great. The concept is great. They're very comfortable to wear and wash up beautifully. But the material is so soft and shiny that it slides down your legs, no matter how tight you cinch the Velcro. It's annoying. I glued some rubber shelf liner to the back of each one, and that helps somewhat. Great concept on the product -- not great execution. :-(

When I used them, they kept slipping off knees so put on tighter then it cut off circulation. Plus it bunched up behind your knees which hurts while you are working on down on your knees.

Don't skimp on the velcro
By Judy - average kneesVerified Purchaser from Alameda, CA. on 5/7/2010
Pros:
Lightweight
Describe Yourself:
Avid Gardener
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

The pads are great - lightweight - wellmade -
dry quickly - However, and this is a huge
HOWEVER - the straps just don't do what they are
supposed to do and that is HOLD ON!
Now I don't have unusually skinny knees but
the velcro runs out way before they can grip -
leaving me with the feeling that they are slipping down - and they ARE! What's wrong with
continuing the velcro the full length of the strap
(which is pleasantly shorter than most kneepads)-
to have a more useable "grip zone"??? As usual I
will have to add my own velcro to the area that is
lacking. But I shouldn't have to if the manufacturer had some idea of sizing.
Would I buy or tell others to buy? I'll probably make my own the next time I need a pair.

My kneepads are great. They protect my knees & provide a gel cushion that is comfortable. I love not having to carry a large pad around with me, just strap on your kneepads & keep them on as you work, it's so easy.

I used these kneepads for the first time while painting the bottom rail on the fence around my yard. My knees never felt a thing. It was amazing! I could concentrate on my painting and not on my knees.

I've used other kneepads before (the kind that were made for men who are carpenters/masons) so I had something to compare them to. There is no comparison.

Now I can't wait to start my stone sidewalk. Nothing will stop me now!

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

These knee pads are incredibly comfortable and cushion well without bulk. Bending your knees doesn't require readjustment of the straps like other knee pads. You put them on and forget about them, literally.

I bought a blue denim pair and the green and found that I've often gone off to run errands still wearing them because I forgot I had them on. The blue ones blend in with light jeans which are great if you prefer discreet. The green work well if you don't want to forget you're wearing them over jeans. lolol

I'd recommend these to anyone who does a lot of low work and wants a comfortable cushion without the uncomfortable bulk. I love the velcro connections and the straps are spaced nicely so they don't bulk up behind your knees.

Thanks for a great product, Gardener's Supply!

Would Not Buy a second pair
By Barbara the GardenerVerified Purchaser from Bellevue, WA on 7/15/2009
Pros:
Lightweight
Cons:
Dont stay in place
Best Uses:
Gardening, Land Development
Describe Yourself:
Avid Gardener

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

These kneee pads may be comfortable but I spend so much time pulling them up from under my knee cap where they slip while I garden that I benefit only slightly from the comfort. They cannot be adjusted any tighter as the velco fasteners are too short. That means I need to add velcro to the product to make it work. And I HATE having to do this to something I paid good money for that should work. I am not a tiny skinny person so I think my knees are average in circumference. I would NOT buy a second pair.

They are ok.
By sunloverVerified Purchaser from Nashville on 7/15/2009
Pros:
Comfortable Grip, Lightweight
Best Uses:
Gardening
Describe Yourself:

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

These are pretty and easy to wear, more comfortable than some kneepads. But not enough padding. My 40+ year old athletic knees do a lot of bending and kneeling for weeding and planting and I needed more. I will keep using the bulky macho kneepads. Also, not sure if they came in different sizes but these were too big in the sense that they wrapped around my knees and the velcro strips way overlapped so there was not much way to secure them.
I wanted to love these kneepads but they dont work for me.

Stretchy knee pads
By RaineyVerified Purchaser from Chicago, IL on 7/6/2009
Pros:
None for me
Cons:
Tooooo thin
Best Uses:
Only used once
Describe Yourself:
Avid Gardener
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

Not thick enough. But I guess thickness was not one of the things mentioned. The ad said they were comfortable, but I did not keep them on long enough to evaluate that. They serve no purpose for me if they do NOT cushion the knees.

Alot of Pros, One Con
By pbVerified Purchaser from Flintstone, MD on 7/3/2009
Pros:
Comfortable Grip, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Solid Construction
Best Uses:
Gardening, Lawn Maintenance
Describe Yourself:

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

Very comfortable, and really helps the knees. The only "con" is the textured material. During a long day of gardening, the textured material irritates the knees.

They are way too big
By MartyVerified Purchaser from Wichita, KS on 6/22/2009
Cons:
Too Big
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

Before I can use these supposedly ladies' knee pads, I will have to cut the straps and sew them much shorter. They are way way too big for my legs! They slide off. My rating might change once I get the modifications done and can actually try them out.

They'd be great if they only stayed up!
By Dirt DevilVerified Purchaser from Easthampton, MA on 6/20/2009
Pros:

Cons:
Holding tabs too weak

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

Because the holding tabs are too weak too keep to keep the knee pads in place, these knee pads are useless

Stretch kneepads are disappointing
By Rose ladyVerified Purchaser from Frederick, CO on 6/20/2009
Pros:
Coverage is good
Cons:
Elastic straps too long, Pads slide down easily
Best Uses:
For gardening and weeding
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

The straps on these so-called adjustable knee pads are too long. I added some additional velcro so they would be tighter on my leg, but they still slide down. The coverage of the pad is good when the pad is in the proper position, but it is not in the proper position very much. I have to keep pulling it up. The gel in the pad provides adequate protection.

Not a fit
By Nancy in NCVerified Purchaser from Siler City, NC on 6/17/2009
Pros:
Good idea, Pad is comfortable
Cons:
Much too big, They fall down, Velcro not adjustable
Best Uses:
Over long pants
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Stretch Knee Pads:

Over bare knees, these simply didn't stay put when I stood up and moved around. Couldn't make the attachment tight enough. Nice idea, faulty execution. Should work better over pants.
