When Native Americans sowed their crops, they didn’t use tractors or plows. To keep valuable seed from blowing away or being eaten by birds, they often hid it inside little balls of clay. The same method works well today: just scatter these seed balls on prepared soil and water well.

    Comments about Flower Seed Balls:

Got these as a gift and wasn't too sure how they'd work. They sat around for weeks and finally after everything was in we threw them in a pot without much enthusiam. I had to search the internet to figure out where they'd come from so I can get them again!!! The pots we have them are a delight. They're packed with blossoms and a variety of colors textures and heights. We love them and hope they're back in stock soon. I want to give them as gifts also as we've enjoyed them so much.
We are desert gardeners and put them in pots so we had more control over the amount of sun and water, and that may have contributed to our success over some of the other reviewers.

    Comments about Flower Seed Balls:

This was a gift for my mother, who was excited and nurtured these seed balls. I was disappointed at how few of the seedlings survived with all of the pampering. Also, the seedlings that did survive were all growing in one small clump. They didnt disperse as expected. I had purchased some seed mats for myself from another company and had much better results.

    Comments about Flower Seed Balls:

This year we went all flowers in our raised beds. Thought using the seed balls would be an easy way to get started. Unfortunately the squirrels loved them also. They were easy to carry and extremely tastey! None of them were around long enought sprout so I can't really say much about them.

    Comments about Flower Seed Balls:

These seemed like a great idea--set out seed balls, let nature do the rest. Unfortunately, we're in our 3rd year of drought, and the seeds don't get enough constant moisture to germinate. May try again when and IF we ever get normal rainfall again, because it's an idea that SHOULD work.
