Really cute, the directions are not correct as to how to put it together, but I realized you need to put one nut on, then the propeller THEN the other nut...it spins great!

I gave this as a gift to my chicken-loving Mother, and it looks great in her little vegetable container garden, BUT it doesn't actually "whirl." Even a pretty stiff breeze doesn't turn the propeller, and it doesn't turnn on the upright pole easily in response to the wind like a weathervane, so I'm not really sure why it is designed to rotate at all.

Since deer eat most of my flowers, I wanted to "decorate" the flower bed with colorful attractive items. This Whirligig does not move with the wind, even after my husband oiled it. The chickens are cute, and it will be easy to store, but it is a disappointment.

I admit I was disappointed with this whirligig. The multi-part support is wobbly and comes apart whenever I move or adjust it (ie individual pieces are very short). The design seems alright, but construction is shoddy, and it is neither sturdy nor well-balanced. It also doesn't work (ie whirl) unless there is a gale force wind. I have tried placing it in different locations in my garden, and the only time I have seen it moving was during a huge thunderstorm. Paint job is sketchy. Overall, I think it is flimsy and overpriced. I may repaint, use a different stake, and get a mechanically-minded friend to tweak it.

I didn't return the product because it is attractive and I didn't want to incur the return postage fee. But I am disappoined in its construction because the shaft does not spin to cause the peeps to move. I had tried several ways to assemble the propellor and nuts along with the direction specifics but no luck :(

It never really worked --even tho I tried to balance it, and we have some good wind here, but never really spun around.
Then it broke at the welded point, where it fits into the pipe. Really didn't do what it was designed for.

Loved this product, however, the fan portion has already screwed off with the wind so i'm worried it will continue to happen and the posts are pretty flimsy and can easily come undone from one another.
