Rather than throwing out my expensive "Moisture Control" potting mix every year and repotting with brand new mix, I simply mix in container mix booster when I replant in the spring and my dozens of annual containers do well every year. And for those plants I overwinter in the basement, I give them a boost every spring with this product as I set them outside for the summer. I barely disturb the roots as I mix this product in the top inch of potting mix, and they are off for another year of growth. It's so much less stressful for the plant than completely repotting the it to replace depleted potting mix.

The ingredients are great, but it's quite expensive for what it is. Because it's used 1-2 cups/gallon, if one is rejuvenating a large container (>10 gallon) it would be much cheaper -- albeit more wasteful and eco-unfriendly -- to just get new potting soil. I can see this working quite well for 1-2 gallon pots, but I grow vegetables in ~30-gallon pots.

I think this product's only drawback is it's labor-intensive to use when you have a lot of big containers. I may try not emptying the entire pot and mixing it into all the contents this year, but maybe dig it into the top few inches of the larger pots.
Last year, when the harvest from tomato, eggplant, and pepper plants in my community garden plot was heavily impacted by disease, my plants at home were flourishing. People couldn't believe it when they saw completely disease-free six foot tomato plants loaded with fruit into October!

It's Great for adding YOUTH to old soil rather it be directly into the old yard soil oR pots when the soil needs a good lift.
This Booster MIx is like finding the:
Fountain of Youth for soil that needs a GOOD BOOST. Being I have limitations with disablilites I'm unable to turn over & work my yard, or even empty an old pot of soil that has lost it's life.
All I have to do is add afew Tablespoons of Booster Mix, give a few turns of the soil, then moist it down alittle.
It's great when wanting to re-add new bulbs oR re-plant the season's before. Same goes for adding it directly to the ground soil that needs a GOOD BOOST. It's too early to tell because I just used this product. However, I like the concept. I have two decks on the upstairs part of my house and they look lovely with pots in bloom. I've added this Booster Mix to potting soil in my deck containers for three years and really like the results. It makes getting ready for the growing season quick and easy, without the need for new soil each year. Plants can struggle up here (I garden almost exclusively in containers at 8,000' in the CO Rockies), but this mix keeps my potting soil viable. Many of the containers I use are Self-Watering from Gardener's Supply, and I use the potting soil for the self-watering containers, as well. It's a relatively thrifty way to enhance tired soil, and my plants seem to love it - making me a happy gardener!

It's great to be able to reuse the potting soil. It obviously works well because my cucumbers are already on their way to the neighbor's yard. My sister dubbed me the cucumber queen last year, and after using the booster mix, I've retained my title.

Can't actually say I noticed a huge difference, but I had good results using it in conjunction with last year's soil, so I'd say give it a shot -- especially if you're not going to supplement your soil in any way (peat, etc.)

My garden consists of a large third-floor balcony with window boxes and hanging baskets. I like this product because I can reuse potting soil. It keeps me from lugging heavy bags of potting mix up three flights of stairs whenver I replant a container. I can refresh used potting soil and save a lot of work. It's a good substitute for a compost pile.

I have four whiskey barrels full of colorful summer flowers accenting my backyard patio. I added new soil to 2 barrels and used the container booster mix to the other 2. I use the Container Booster Mix every spring. I have 4 huge pots (1/2 wine barrel size) that would be really expensive to refill with new potting soil every year. Instead, I leave in the old potting soil and mix in the Booster Mix. I have beautiful flowers in these tubs every year and out of the 3 years I've used this product I have never been disappointed.

This product is fantastic. I added some to my outdoor pots when I planted annuals this spring. I've never had petunias with so many healthy, colorful blooms. My geraniums and impatiens are blooming like crazy too. There is absolutely no need to add any of that blue granular fertilizer to my watering can any more -- it simply is not needed when you use this product at planting time. Also -- the plants stay compact and healthy, not leggy like they can get with the blue fertilizer. You won't be disappointed with this product.

I use the container booster mix to replenish the soil in large containers where it would be too expensive to replace all the soil. I remove the top couple of inches of spent soil, mix the booster mix into the next several inches and replace the removed top few inches with fresh soil.

With 3 little kids an alot of yard chores, I haven't found the time to invest in creating my own compost, which is why I LOVE this product, especially for my pots. I skip the fall ritual of dumping out a million quarts of potting soil--just clean out the old plant material and next spring, add the Container Booster mix and I'm off to the races.
