I found it impossible to get the rings around my plants. The one plant that I did manage to get the rings around is apparently too heavy for the rings as it just flops over and pulls the rings out of the ground.

    Comments about Support Rings:

I bought these rings to provide support for large plants. They are not sturdy or strong enough and are very difficult to install if the plant has grown larger than the heigth of the support. A better design is to have a rigid support that does not collapse flat; sodder all connections (legs and rings) and use heavier weight wire. Perhaps they could be stored by stacking.

    Holding up Dahlias!
By noneVerified Purchaser from Silver Spring, Maryland on 6/11/2009
    Pros:

    Cons:
    Difficult to Store
    Best Uses:
    Flower Gardens
    Describe Yourself:
    Avid Gardener
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    Comments about Support Rings:

As soon as dahlias or peonies start to come up, I place the support rings around the young plants. As they grow, I adjust the rings to support the growing plants. At first, of course, there's a lot of ring showing, but by end of May, all you see is the plant. My only problem is folding them up for storage. The hooks keep getting intertwined with each other while in storage.

For Flowers that Fall Down on the Job

    Pros:
    Durable, Good Value, High Quality
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    Comments about Support Rings:

I love these supports because I can use them even when I've forgotten to place them in the ground early in the season. I use them on my clumps of hardy gladiolas and asters. They are relatively easy to set up and camoflouge nicely amid the plants' foliage.

    Comments about Support Rings:

I have used these rings to contain bushy growing Salvia nemorosa hybrids. Work well but the gauge of the metal could be heavier...seem kind of flimsy. Might order a few more for other plants with similar growing tendencies.

    Comments about Support Rings:

I much prefer your essex plant support which has fixed legs, is easy to maneuver and get into the ground around the plant. I kept having to fight with the legs on this product and couldn't get it balanced right.

    Comments about Support Rings:

I bought these plant supports for my Gayfeathers. The past 2 years, as the plants got bigger, most of the stalks would fall over. I put the supports in place in early spring so the plants would grow up through them. It is now summer and Gayfeathers are in full bloom. They are upright and beautiful!

    Best Uses:

    Comments about Support Rings:

I live in a very windy location, and like tall plants. My front landscaping has several heliopsis plants that were forever breaking and weeping under the force of the winds. These supports conceal nicely within the foliage of the plant, are easy to install, and fold flat for convenient winter storage. Some of my sets are now several years old, still in great shape and have no rust at all. I will order more as I increase my landscaping.
