I expected to use the grids to build a leaf composting area. Since it was mid-summer when I ordered them, they ended up serving as cucumber supports and tall fencing support prior to being utilized for compost. They bend pretty easily. That is helpful when you need to bend them, but when they bend on their own, it is kind of a bother.

I purchased these trellis for my new Clematis to climb....they are perfect.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
Good for climbing plants but didn't come with ties or instructions how to coach plants to use it. So far only minimally effective.

The product is especially helpful for my green beans and I will probably
come up with other uses next year. Should have bought these earlier
in the year to take full advantage of their flexibility.

These grids can be used as fencing to keep plants in their place along pathways and in flower borders. They can be curved and used to keep gladiolas or any tall plants that might become top heavy from flopping over.

I use these grids on my Square foot garden beds. I have not only snow peas growing up them but Cucumbers and even melons!.

I'm still finding ways to use my grids. I'm always impressed with Gardener's quality but these things have so many applications. You'll love'm if your a veggie gardener.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
The product looks great and is easy to assemble. I like the fact that it comes in panels and is expandable to your specific needs.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
love the grids but the spring-like connectors will not fit around two pieces.. got some ties to use.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I figured out how to use the green metal coils that are supplied with the grids, using them to link the grids together. I stood the grids on the ground, side by side, and held the coil above where the the two sides met, right at the corners. I used the coil as a corkscrew (sort of) and began turning the coil clock-wise, I think, catching the 'side' of each grid as I turned the coil, connecting the grids together. Hope this makes sense! Keep trying, they worked very well once I figured out how to use them!
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
Excellent product and very easy to use.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I love these grids! The green color makes them blend in, and they're great for climbing or vining vegetable plants! Good price too for what you get.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
This is the perfect solution to help my clematis climb the nearby telephone pole. It looks neat, and is not damaging to the pole.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
These looked quite attractive upon arrival, but came without instructions. Coils are provided to be used to 'supposedly' connect 2 frames together. The problem is, they are wound so tightly that you end up destroying the coils and the coating on the frames.
I called customer support and she said they should easily coil around the frames only if I stack the frames vertically. I need to connect them HORIZONTALLY! With my arthritis and even with other people's help we can't get the coils to work at connecting the frames horizontally AT ALL! Why not just explain how they're to be used in the catalogue? I wouldn't have wasted my money.
What an appalling situation, poor design and the this company's 'incredible' catalogue description' which proves incredibly FRUSTRATING.
REMEMBER TO SEND INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE WITH YOUR PRODUCTS!
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I purchased several sets of these grids to use for support of various vegetables. Right now I'm using some in earthboxes to provide support for pole beans.
I tried again and again to figure out how those dang coils are supposed to work and ended up tying my grids to support poles.
I would love to extend the height, but without some sort of directions that make those connecting coils useful, they're useless.
Like the grids - hate the coil things!
Please design and provide better connectors or supply directions on how to make these work.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
Easy to set up and won't take up space when growing season is over.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
Even though I decided to keep these, they were not what I had expected. It took me a while to determine how to put them together - no instructions.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I like the grids but I don't understand those springy looking connectors. You need to provide instructions on how those are to be used. I tried several times to use them to connect 2 panels together and the only place I got was frustrated. I ended up using zip ties to connect the panels together. I would still like to know how to use the springy things.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I've been using the old standard conical tomato cages which are not sturdy enough without adding multiple support for my plants in containers. These do the trick alone.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
Yes

Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
Had to cut down legs with hacksaw in order to get correct height. Tried using with stemmed plants but they don't fit well through grids. Works better for shrub-like plants

These grids are just what I have been looking for.
My blueberry bushes are in cages to protect from the animals and these grids allowed for extra space for growth. I have many neighbors who want to invest in this grid. I originally purchased these grids for my vegetable garden. They are fantastic and I reccomend them very highly.

I may possibly find a use for the "connecting" coils one day - but it sure won't be for connecting the grids. I find them aggravating and I am unable to attach them. If anyone has a helpful hint I would appreciate it

Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I found them to be less than I expected. I planned to use them to support morning glories.I found netting to work better.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I bought these for some cucumbers that went a little crazy this year. I couldn't figure out how to work those little springs that are supposed to connect them, but, I never throw anything away, so maybe I'll try them again next year. I got some bamboo poles, tied 'em up with about 6 inches sticking out of the bottom and basically just rammed them into the dirt. They held OK, but probably would have been stronger if I had staggered them somehow, or maybe built little teepees. Next year I plan to get another set and make an actual PLAN. All in all, I'm quite satisfied with both the product and the price/value. Just, keep the little springy things. I'm afraid they're going to get sucked up into my lawnmower and hurt someone.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
Once I got the hang of connecting I was good to bo. I'm going to purchase more.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
Works great for a single trellis for vines in a garden.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
The grids themselves are pretty nice - actually a little stronger than I expected. I think I would need some tools to get these to bend like the pictures, and the little arch over the lettuce - I'd be afraid it would SPROIINNNGGG right back up, even with earth staples. But I tied some bamboo to the sides and stuck them in the dirt, and they seem pretty sturdy. After I did a few I had the idea to use them like little teepees, and probably will next year, but this year my cantaloupes and cukes are already established (and a knotted viney mess) so I was just trying to work them into an already existing vine melee.
Separately, those weird little coils mystify me. Not big enough to loop bamboo through, barely big enough to get on one piece of grid? This is where a little diagram might have been helpful. But, some gardening tape worked just as well, if not better. I just hope that one coil I lost doesn't get sucked up into the lawnmower...

I haven't used them yet , but I plan to use as trellises as well as fence in a small portion of a raised bed to deter deer. I'm sure I will come up with many other uses as issues arise.

Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I love these! I am using 5 in my squash raised bed (also a Gardner's Supply product!) and they are fantastic! The squash is off the ground and growing like mad. I ordered 2 sets (for a total of 8) and made a fence for my peas and beans out of the remaining 3. My only negative comment is that the wire spiral connectors which come with the sets don't seem to work- they aren't easy to use and rip the plastic coating so I recommend plastic ties to attach more than one grid- easier, faster and effective.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
We were really disappointed with this product - it was flimsy and not what we expected.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
Absolutely perfect for both our cucumbers AND watermelons!! They were so easy to use, I immediately ordered more!

Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
This is my maiden year growing vegetables in a raised bed (I've grown tomatoes in the gardener suppy tomato growing kit for several years.) I bought the garden grids to support my green beans. I was concerned about the spiral connectors after reading the other reviews, and did feel they wouldn't work at the beginning. I didn't know how to connect the lower parts of the grids. The connectors twisted on nicely at the top, but then I thought they stopped at the first intersection. But, au contraire, you just keep twisting and they move on down to whatever level you desire! I bought some slim metal poles at my local hardware store to support the grids, and now I have green bean tendrils curling up the grid.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I am using the grids to keep my squash from running over the ground. I folded the grids so that I didnt need stakes and have trained the vines to run across from grid to grid. It is seeming to keep the powdery mildew to a minimum and makes weeding much easier.

Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
i purchased one set and used them for snap peas. It worked great. The peas were easy to harvest, no tangled mess, no pods lying on the ground. I only bought one set, but am ordering more sets to use for cucumbers, flowering vines, and more snap peas. I found the connectors easy to use after I figured out the first one. It did help to read the instructions and look at the pictures, which I did after I had alittle trouble figuring out how to use them.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
Really has a lot of versatility in the garden -- I use mine to create a tunnel with floating row cover over the top for delicate crops like lettuce, etc. it works extremely well. and then you can reshape it for other uses. The little clip fasteners don't work as well as they could, but overall a great idea for the home gardener.

Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
Used with the faux baboo poles to allow my vegetables to climb on.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I can't believe how great these grids are! I'll be ordering another set. They're completely versitile. I'm currently using 4 to cage cucumbers that I have growing in an old whiskey barrel. I need some more to extend my bean trellis.....
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I needed something to hold my growing cucumbers on. This was perfect since I'm using a small area along a wooden fence. I'm planning on buying some more.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I use the grids to support container-planted tomatoes on my deck. Love the grids; hate the connectors. Spiral Connectors are too tight; they tear up the grid's wire coating by 3rd revolution (less than half-way on). Serious design flaw in an otherwise wonderful product. Solve that connector problem & these become 5-star rating.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
These have been great for my green beans and cucumbers. The wire is covered in a green coating and they blend right in.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
using for green beans
ability to zigzag the 4 pieces is practical
The accompanying spiral connections are TOTALLY WORTHLESS. In fact, they dont even fit. Why bother. We used ties instead to hold the 4 grids in place. A bit pricey
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I bent my grids into an arch to provide support for the bush beans. The plants have grown up through the grid and I expect that the grid will support the plant to keep it off the ground while the beans hang down. So far, so good. The grids seem sturdy and are just the right size. I like that they come in a set of 4.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I recently planted 3 Carolina Jessamines along a brick wall in front of the house and needed a long trellis, rather than something tall. I bought 2 sets and secured them side by side, using the supplied connectors and some bamboo poles I already had. It went together very quickly and seems that it will do the job very nicely. The panels are easy to work with, and with the coating on them, seems like they will last a long time. I like that they are green, and will blend in with the vines once they really grow.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I could never figure out how to get the connectors on the grids to attach other grids-so used cording to tie instead. Disappointing. The grids are fine-as long as are held up by something sturdy-and the faux bamboo poles I bought for that purpose are too short and cannot be connected to be made longer.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I like this product because it keeps the produce off of the ground, thus reducing loss from both bugs and rot.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
We are using these for tomato plants. Because they are durable & hold the plants vertically, we can plant more in our small area.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I purchased another set of these and that sez it all!
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
The metal "curly" ties or attachments are useless so I used plain twisty ties. Also no way to stake it in the ground so used long staples to anchor it. My first time to try them so will see how my climbing vegetables do on it.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
Veg. garden
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
Very sturdy, maybe even too much when it came to trying to bend them into a semi circle. Should of let my husband do it or used a mold to bend them around more uniformly. The connectors were a little tought to get on but prove to make a very sturdy support for tomatoes & they look a great deal better than traditional tomatoe cages. Let someone with strong hands do the work.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I'm using this product for the first time as a trellis for my pole beans. In the past I've used the white trellis netting, but I like the idea of a resuable product that stores easily and is versatile.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
A little pricey, but so easy to use. These work great for my bean plants. They bend so easily, but no worries of them straightening themselves out. The spikes could be longer due to my sandy soil, but they work. My 11 year-old daughter and I set these up so quickly and easily. I can't wait until they are covered in beans!
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
This product has many uses. Great for all climbing plants. Ground use and also container.

Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I got these grids yesterday and got round to looking at them today, I had been a little worried about the connecting parts, as so many had had problems, but looked at them, and thought, easy! well after mangling the plasic and getting nowhere! for 10 mins, I thought, I'll use cable ties!
Solution- told hubby, he said he would have a go, did exactly the same as me on the first attempt, and said "this is stupid unless...! and he took the connector and screwed it from the ends of the grids! and just moved through the sections, until it was where I wanted it! so don't start in the grid space you want it to finally end up start at the end.
can't understand why there are no instructions! we can't all be stupid?
and now I have to suffer a smug hubby all evening!
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I'm using them on end as trellises, and on their sides as "fences" to keep wandering plants where they belong in the garden!
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I live in a city where backyard space is limited. The versatility of the garden grids allows me to get maximum usage of my garden boxes.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I like the versatility of this product. I would consider buying more as we add to the garden in the future.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
We put two panels together and secured them in the ground with bamboo poles to use as pea trellis in raised vegetable beds. It was easy to install, looks neat and atractive and is sturdy.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I used this product in containers built around support beams for my addition that were not attractive. It was extremely difficult for any climbing plants to climb successfully up and around the beams - I wrapped these around each support beam and my Mourning Glories are joyfully reaching for the sky!! Super Easy To Use!
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
MY HUSBAND PUT THEM AROUND OUR GUTTER DOWN SPOUT FOR CLEMATIS TO GROW AND THEY SEEM TO LIKE IT.
I ALSO HAVE THE BEEN POLES AND TOMATOES POLES AND THE BUSH BEAN STAKES, LOVE EVERYTHING IN THE CATALOG AND EVERYTHING HOLDS UP REALLY WELL.
THANK YOU FOR SUCH GREAT IDEAS

Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I use these behind my self-watering troughs and they are great. My cucumbers, peppers, and bush beans are climbing right up them. I'm not sure how to use the curly Q's that came with them, so I'm just using gardening tape to support the vines.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
These grids were very flexible and sturdy! I bent them and they stayed exactly as I bent them. I used them for a support in my vegetable garden.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I like this product! I used it as a tomato cage, a trellis for beans and snap peas as well as melons and cucumbers. The connectors were difficult to use with my aging fingers, and scraped the coating off the wire. Generally, I'm quite happy with the product and I'm looking forward to the results.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
These worked out great but I had to use bamboo stakes to keep them upright and sturdy. Loved the little spriral connectors that were included.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I used this product to build a shade for my orchids, summering on a balcony with full sun. I covered the 4 grids with shading material, attached with plastic cable ties. Then I attached 3 of the grids to each other to form a 3-sided box, and I bent the 4th grid to make a cover for the top. I couldn't use the connecters that came with the grids as they didn't fit over the material, but larger cable ties worked fine.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
The grids work great as a cucumber trellis, but the connectors that are supplied to hook the grids together are worthless. Cable ties are much easier to attach. Buy the grids, throw the connectors away.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
Using for beans and peas and working well.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
Every year I plant sweet Peas (flowers) and these sturdy grids are perfect...after use, they are easy to store and reuse for next year.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
Use product in a self watering container to hold up my tomatoes. Easy to assemble and tie plants too.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
The spiral hinges are really hard to get on- and there were no instructions-I gave up trying to get them on all the way and sort of stuck them on partway and made do.
The panels were also smaller than I expected them to be--but I should have paid more attention to the dimensions. I needed more than four attached together for just the peas.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
The flat design allows one to use this for any number of purposes, many unexpected!
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
These could benefit from an included staking system.

Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
Used these for the first time, so can't comment on durability. They bend easily, yet retain shape and are a manageable size. However, the catalogue shows them connected with provided connectors (I bought an extra package!!) to make a variety of sizes and shapes. The connectors are VERY difficult to use; cannot put them on by hand. I had to use a vice grip and was only able to "screw" on half of the connector to join them. The frames are great if you don't plan on making a lot of connections. Otherwise.......
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
Last week we got to find out how durable this trellis could be during a wind storm. Our expensive wooden trellis from a local garden shop, blew apart but not our Garden Grid. When pea season is over, I will use these grids for other gardening needs.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
These are just what my garden needed. Very versatile, flexible and so far appear very durable. Great for squash, cucumbers etc. to keep them off the soil and prevent rot

Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I got these to trellis my cukes on my balcony. I couldn't figure out the spiral connectors, so I just used twine to tie the panels together in an 'H' shape, with the fourth panel on top. My planters fit underneath, and my cukes will have room to grow.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I originally bought the grids to train sweet peas up a porch railing, but after planting tomatoes and having some rather cold weather, I took the grids and folded them in half to form a triangle, placed over the small tomato plants, and covered with plastic. Worked perfectly. I can see many uses for these pliable grids.

Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
The grid is going to be good for my purposes, but the coils that came with the set to fasten them together were terrible. They are too stiff to bend around the wires. I ended up using cable ties, which worked fine. I suggest that you change to such cable ties, as they are easy to use, have flexible lengths, and are strong. Also cheaper for you to produce.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I recently put two of the garden grids in my vegetable garden to support my cucumbers this season and can't wait to see how they work out. The weight and durability of the fences are excellent and I plan on using the remaining two grids in other areas of my garden with some climbing annuals. The coil connectors also appear to work well but I chose not to use them. To provide additional support to my cucumbers, I attached the garden panels to poles with zip ties. I would highly recommend these garden panels - they are well designed and very versatile in the garden!
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
Just received this Spring - easy to put up - product seems a little flimsy but for my use should work fine - as far as longivity - time will tell. . .

Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
My main complaint is the spiral connectors they sent. They give no information as to how to use them and their diameter is such that you can't get them around two pieces of the grid. I ended up actually scraping off the protective rust-resistent coating on one grid in an attempt and finally gave up and used zip ties.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
i really like the grids, once they get there job to do they,ll be fine

I used these for my peas and beans to grow up. They are attractive and easy to install; however, the coils that came with them to connect/hinge them together were impossible to use as I could not get them to fit around two pieces to create a hinge. Instead, I used zip ties and stabilized them with bamboo at the hinge. They work great and look good too!

Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
There were no instructions on how to get the product put together. We eventually figured out how the corkscrews went on it and using the picture in the catalog I figured out how to set it up -- used for my cucumbers to climb and to shade my onions.
Comments about Garden Grids, Set of 4:
I had been looking for an arch to support blackberries. The arch was to be connected to two structures 36" apart. The garden grids worked perfectly and were easy to use. They look great. We only needed 3 grids, so we used the 4th one to strengthen the rounded arch.

I've used mine for pea support. to stop my critters from getting into the raised beds and when I plant my cukes they'll be supporting them and shading some greens.
