I ORDERED THESE FOR THE MEMORIAL WILDFLOWER GARDEN AT OUR LOCAL LIBRARY. THEY ARE IDEAL. DURABLE, LARGE ENOUGH, AND TALL ENOUGH TO SEE AND TO PUT THE COMMON NAME OF THE FLOWER AND THE LATIN NAME AS WELL. WHEN COMBINED WITH THE PAINT PEN, THEY SOLVED A MAJOR LABELING PROBLEM FOR US.THEY WERE REASONABLY PRICED AND CAME VERY QUICKLY.

2010/2011 WAS A BAD WINTER ON LONG ISLAND. SOME TAGS BASED ON LOCATION COULD NOT WITHSTAND SNOW, ICE AND SALT PILED IN GARDEN AREAS FROM FRONT DOOR TO GARAGE. BUT ALL IN ALL, I DID BUY AGAIN TO REPLACE FOR THIS SEASON

Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
These are my favorite plant labels. I ordered them with the pen and so far the labels are very clear and go into the ground well. I will be curious to see how long the writing stays on the label, but my past experience is that the label itself lasts forever.

Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
I needed plant markers so that visitors could identify our native plants during a garden home tour. Our local nurseries don't have anything this sturdy or this large, or this well-priced. I bought the marking pen from Gardeners too, and that worked pretty well, although I'd prefer a finer point. Still, it was easy to write the long Latin and common plant names on the large markers. These things are tough; I'll probably never need to buy plant markers again! Thanks, Gardeners Supply!

Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
I am not sure if I can leave these out during the winter months as the snow gets very heavy. They look very durable as far as the lettering staying on with the pen that I purchased also.

We plant a lot of different vegetables in our garden each year and it can be very challenging to remember what every thing is until it matures. These make it so much easier. Our children (7 & 5yo) really enjoy reading them and knowing where every thing is too.

The markers are easy to use with permanent marker and sturdy enough to stake into hard packed clay. My nighbors commented on the markers and actually refer to them when walking through my new gardens. Very nice. I bought a second package.

I like these so much I gave them to my Mom as a gift. I mostly use them in my veg garden. The angled face helps me to read without bending over. The only con is what to use to write on them. I reuse each year so a sharpie works ok. It can fade off by the fall. This year I am going to try my label maker and see if it works better.

Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
The signs hold up amazing well. When I first started using them I would spray them with clear lacquer but I have discovered that that is not necessary as they weather very well. I have bought many of them and will continue to buy them as I need them.

Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
These are large enough to print all the information you need about each plant; name, color of bloom, size, rebloomer or not, etc. I love using them for my daylilies. When people stop to look at the garden, they can read the label and all the information is there at a glance.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
So easy to use. I would put in a new plant and forget the name. Now when people tour my yard and ask the name of a plant, it's right there. If purchasing, also get the Paint Marker. Great combo!!

Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
I find it useful to spray a coat of rustoleum on the wire and I letter stamp the plant names on the nameplate for permanence. They last for many years when used this way and help me remember what is planted where when the plants are not in bloom.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
i plant a lot of bulbs and need to know what is where in fall/winter when i decide i will rearrange everything for the spring. i have tried other markers but these are still legible and sturdy, year after year. sometimes i touch up the marker to keep it visible. there is plenty of room on label for comments about bloom time, height and color if needed
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
Generous Room for those Latin named plants!
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
I have a garden set up to attract butterfly s and humming birds with several plants and need to know which is which so I can care for them. The markers are a big help.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
We really like these plant markers. They are not flimsy and stand up well to our windy conditions here. The permanent markers that came with the set are just the right size to write on the plant markers. I put tape on the plant marker and wrote on that so I could reuse with another type plant at a later date. I got the large ones -they are easily read as you walk through the garden. When we relandscape the front of our house, I will use them to mark the various new plants we put in there - maybe I will use the shorter ones for that.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
I just started putting them in place, but I think
they will be just what I have been looking for.
Now when someone asks me "what is that plant" I'll be able to tell them. I hate it that my memory is not what it was when I was in Junior Garden Club!
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
great for marking my flowers
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
I have ordered 250 in 3 orders so I must really like these and I DO!
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
I bought these markers for my husband's garden. He had been using wooden stakes with the seed bag attached to mark his vegetables. After a few weeks, the markers were faded or washed off.
These new markers are so easy to put in the ground. They are tall enough, large enough, and best of all, reusable. He loves them. I am so happy I found them in your catalog.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
These markers last way longer than any others I've ever tried. The plastic ones degrade or slip out of the ground. The other metal ones with the wrap-around label space at the top come UNwrapped in a year or two. And the legs are long enough that they stay put. If you really need shorter legs, you can just clip them off with side-cutters. And I've found that the best labelling is with Brother's Extra Strong/Industrial Strengh tapes - either black on white, or black on clear. Enjoy.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
Enough for both winter/summer gardens - store when done for next season. Can check to know what we had in garden previous times.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
I have a large collection of Hostas in our landscape (70 plus varieties & still adding) and need to to keep them labeled. These labels are large enough to read from 10' away and are durable. They will last about ten years and we live in Oregon which is wet much of the year. I have had the bottom of the wires rust out, but, because they are tall I just cut off the rusted portion and push them back into the ground. These markers are a good product and a decent buy at Gardener's Supply Co.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
I am using these in our new community garden. They are very easy to use and everyone in the garden wanted to know where I got them!! Best of all I can reuse them again next year.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
Sturdy and lasting product.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
Ordered these for our Vegetable/Fruit garden this year. They serve the purpose very well and I think will hold up better than other types/styles. Only downside with our order was that 25 stakes came with the order but the order was short 4 of the actual metal parts that display your veggies name! I'm sure that was just an isolated incident. Also, the black marker worked great - must order separate.

Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
With a very large garden and many family members working in the garden, the markers have made it easier for everyone to identify what has been planted in each row. We have become dependent on them! I would, perhaps, like the plates to be a bit larger.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
One of my greatest parenting joys is the rare and unexpected learning opportunity. These simple markers provide just that. My children now recognize garden species and as my 13-year-old claims, "Latin makes me look smart."

I'm using these to mark some herbs I'm growing and a few small vegetables. I wanted something large enough for the lawn and pesticide people to see, so that they wouldn't spray around the edibles. Cannot find these anywhere else but Gardener's, and the quality and ease of use are top notch. These are large enough to be noticed, and it is exactly what I need. And...they are of good enough quality so that they can be used from season to season, to last for several. Thanks for such a good product.

Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
These plant markers are larger than many I've seen allowing plenty of space for plant names. ... I used a fine point sharpe marker for some and a fine point enamel paint pen from a local craft store for others. Too early to tell which will last longer. A tip -- put the plant name on the backside as well as the front. That way if the sun and elements cause the writing on the front to fade, you still have the name on the reverse side for reference.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
I will be using this product to help identify by name my tall plants such as tomatoes, pumpkins and squash. I usually place a plastic marker telling me the name at the base of the plant but by the time the plant is full grown I either can't find the marker or it is broken or faded. I can't wait for Winter to end so I can get back in the garden.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:

Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
Stays in the ground during even in the cold Illinois winters
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
I use these all the time now. It helps others identify plants in my garden, helps me to keep from digging up/planting over a plant after it's died back... I use a DYMO label maker on plastic tape and affix to the marker. Stays on through any weather, and easy to peel off to re-use the marker. These are much better than plastic or wooden markers and more attractive. I have also used the standard size markers, both are good.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
As I age it seems to be easier to forget the names of flowers and other plants. Now I have no problem remembering what I've planted!!!!
My sister in law had them in her garden and I had to order a couple of packets as they really made her garden look professional.

Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
Great for marking my hosta.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
I have a huge variety of perennials and vegetables/herbs in my garden, and people are always asking, "what's that"? These markers make it easy for them to see what each plant is. I am hoping it will also be a way to remind me over the winter what was growing in a particular spot once it has died back. I used a Sharpie permanent marker on mine, but do not yet know how that will hold up. It did mark well without smearing, so I am hoping it will withstand the elements.

Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
I really like the markers the look so professional

Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
These plant markers are a wonderful product. They are sturdy and easy to use.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
I used the large markers to identify about 90% of the plants in our garden for the Garden Tour last weekend. That made it easy for the tour guides and visitors to discuss plants and make recommendations, rather than spend time trying to identify the plants. Now the markers will make it easier for us to keep track of our plants and their requirements.

I haven't actually put them out in the yard yet, so don't know how they'll hold up over time... but I like the size. They seem very durable and heavy.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
The markers are excellent for marking which seeds I planted and where. They are better than tacking the seed packets to a post.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
With many plantings, the markers allow specific identification and therefore individual care and planning.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
Grease markers are the best way to write names of plants , but...they fade and sometimes the plants name is lost forever...
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
I have a large vegetable garden with 35 16-20 foot beds. Before things germinated and I wanted to keep track of what was where, I had to stop and count rows. Drove me crazy. I used these and the durable paint marker to number each row. Even now that things are growing I still use the row numbers to keep track of what variety of each vegetable is planted where. They are big enough to read easily, but not obtrusive. In my father's words: "the cat's meow!"
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
When I plant a perennial or bulbs, I always use the marker with the date planted, item planted & where purchased. This helps with the location after die back and durability of plant. If the plant does not survive, then I have a record of where it came from & when.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
Large enough so that they are very easy to read.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
Lets me know what plants, seeds, bulbs I have planted.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
Use for marking all the plants in my garden. Works well with my garden p touch. Labels lasted thru the winter so I didn't have to redo them this spring as well as knowing where my perennials were.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
This product is all I was looking for looks good and durable
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
These sturdy markers frustrate our tree squirrels who dig and play and tear up those cheap plastic stick markers. They can't fling these around: too tough. Only problem, I haven't figured out how to make the markings remain clear; they fade. I use these in front of plants such as irises and peonies and veggies. But I find the metal tags on which I use a ball pen to make the impression of the plant ID better for plants that have branches from which to hang the tags.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
Was looking for something practical and sturdy and these fit the bill.

These have been a saver for me and my husband, sometimes we forget what we planted, these help us keep things in order.

I am a teacher and I use the markers to put the name of each child in front of their plant. I type their names on stick paper and attach them to the marker, the children love them. So far they have resisted the children manipulation and I am planning to re-use them.

I ordered these markers to prepare an I.D. for a second Lenten Rose plant from my garden to accompany a friend to New Paltz, NY--the first plant had been dug up and discarded by her garden helper who didn't recognize the foliage (ouch!). Thus, this past Oct. 30, my friend had a second Lenton Rose, complete with "insurance" marker, to plant as a memorial to her late husband in her garden in New Paltz, NY. I was thrilled, and so was she! Thank you for this sturdy, attractive product and waterproof-ink pen.

I love these markers. They help me greatly in the spring when new growth is just starting. I have a tendency to forget what is planted where and with these markers I don't have to worry about that anymore. Also, neighbors love to peak at my garden and see the names of my plants right there.
Comments about Large Markers, Set of 25:
Have them scattered throughout garden for esay identification when observers are going through.
Of course it helps us as well when we forget from time to time. And they are wonderful for springtime when things are just beginning to pop.

these have been very useful in differenciating one plant from another in my crowded garden beds. they are durable and survive the winter well. my only gripe is that the panels can slide down the shaft some.

I love to mark all my plantings in my 6 flower gardens, herb garden and veggie garden. Of all the markers I have tried, these are of the best quality and price. Very sturdy and attractive also.

After I identified the perennials with my gardening books, I used the markers to remind me next spring what the plants will bloom into. I am thinking this product might make nice Christmas presents... something my friends can really use.

Great Product that you write on before you add the steaks. Easier for people who's hands are "gardening" weathered. Small animals can't knock them over.

when your garden starts to get too large, sometimes you forget the variety of a plant in your flowerbed - these labels really help with that.

Glad to find these. Very useful in locating rows when vegetable garden starts to get overgrown. Wife uses them to mark plants in her flower garden.

I was recently on our local garden tour and since I have so many varied plants, I mark them all. Nothing but positive comments about the great markers.

I have a lot of perennials and need to know what is planted where. I also leave these in during the winter so I know what to watch for in the spring. If something doesn't come up I know what it was and can replace it if I choose.

I was too stupid to realize that the holes in the back were to for the stake to thread through. I bent mine around the stake instead. I guess I'll be changing them around tomorrow!! By the time I got them I had thrown the catalog away, although I don't believe there was a picture of them put together in there either. Maybe an enclosed complete picture would have helped!

I have purchased and used 75 of these, expecting another 75 in the mail. Nice, neat way to label all my plants.

Labels stay in place and writing does not fade in
the rain!

I use them throughout my garden-woods, beds, landscaping. I normally use a labeler with clear tape/black writing, but a black charcoal pencil also works quite well. The vinyl label can be peeled off and the markers used again. The charcoal washes off with soap and water, but not with the weather. Whatever you write with on plastic markers, the writing eventually fades and the vinyl labels won't adhere. They don't glare at you like white markers that look like little tombstones where plants have died or take away from the plants that live; these blend in with the surroundings. They don't become brittle over time as do the white plastic markers.

Easy to use. Look good. Don't know how they will hold up over time, but for last 2 months out in weather they are doing well.

I use these large markers to label the plants in my yard & in my school garden. They are large enough to put both the common & scientific names, which is what I need for my students.

I use the markers to mark my perennials to educate my neighbors as well as folks out walking by the yard in the evening. I use them in my vegetable garden as well to mark my herbs. I find the markers very helpful to guide my husband so he doesn't pull a plant he thinks is a weed. I like to encourage the assistance in weeding without having to worry about losing valuable plants.

I like the larger size as you can get full names on the tag. Also, I am hoping they will stay in the ground over the winter.
