This marking pen is a great companion for any zinc-plated or steel plant marker. The fiber tip is better than the felt tip found on other markers because it won't "mush-up" with use.

Comments about Marking Pen:
I've been using this brand of gardening marker for years and it is hands-down the best permanent marker out there. Long after Sharpie's have faded away, this marker withstands a lot of abuse and time in the sun. If you want to still be able to read what you planted months later, this is the tool for the job.

Comments about Marking Pen:
Marker works fine on the plant tags I ordered, but it makes a rather thick line, so a light touch is needed when writing the plant info on the tag.

Purchased this garden marking pen in search of a "permanent" one that will withstand the test of time and weather. We'll see. Just getting them in the garden today. Will keep u posted.
Comments about Marking Pen:
Nice marking pen, writes with ease. Has sharp point that makes for easy legibility. Haven't had it long, but hoping the markings will hold up under the Florida sun conditions.

Comments about Marking Pen:
Fine point great for using on small spaces. Seems to be holding up with all the rain we've had so far.
I did encounter a smearing problem when applying ink to the stake at first not sure if it was the pen or the plate. Corrected when I laid stake flat on the table.
Comments about Marking Pen:
This is a really effective marker that definitely works better that regular permanent markers.

Comments about Marking Pen:
I found the pen point to be too broad for effective lettering on small stakes and plates.

Comments about Marking Pen:
It faded from one year to the next. This meant that I lost all the informaton identifying my hostas
Comments about Marking Pen:
The only thing wrong is the broad tip.I found a fine tip garden marking pen with a fine point, that works great. [@] Give it a try, it worked for me.
Comments about Marking Pen:
the marking pen's tip is too broad for writing on the plant tags I bought. I bought a fine point sharpie instead.
Comments about Marking Pen:
need permanent marker for labelling
Comments about Marking Pen:
Best marker I have found so far, would be perfect if tip was fine, for smaller writing.
Comments about Marking Pen:
Makes my flower markers easy to read, and so far have not faded from the sun. I plan to use it for other outside projects.

Comments about Marking Pen:
use on dry plant marker. I mark inside on a lap board so plant marker won't move as I write. If you make a boo boo, don't worry, a metal scrubber will clean off the zinc marker

Comments about Marking Pen:
The labels made have not run or faded even though July and August have been rain/hail filled.
The tip doesn't dry out either which means it lasts longer.
Why not offer a small/fine tip instead of the broad tip? That's my only complaint.

Comments about Marking Pen:
They should make this pen in both normal and fine tips. I would have opted for the fine tip since if I write more than two words on my "standard" markers it's almost illegible. The letters bleed together. The quality of the ink is great, from what I can tell -- it's outlasted rain and other weather -- if they could only improve on the preciseness I would be a fan.
Comments about Marking Pen:
The pen point is too thick & "heavy" which prevents clear writing of lengthy plant names.
Comments about Marking Pen:
Has broad point, can't write legibly on smaller plant labels.
Comments about Marking Pen:
Does not fad in the sun.
Comments about Marking Pen:
Simple, functional marker
Comments about Marking Pen:
Makes marking on labels easy.
Comments about Marking Pen:
I used this marker with the vertical and horizontal plant stakes I bought from gardeners.com. The marker hasn't smudged in the least from the torrential downpours we've had this season.
Comments about Marking Pen:
Pen has been used on 75 zinc plant markers and is still going strong. Fits perfectly in my 4 x 6 card holder (used to store the plant labels).

I USE THE PEN TO PLACE NAMES OF MY DAYLILIES ON THE FRONT AND BACK OF THE MARKERS. IT WRITES EASILY EACH TIME IT IS USED.

Finally a marker whose ink stands up to our Colorado Sunshine, and snow covered winters! Would like to color code my plants if they ever come out with colors....
