Although we now live in a condo with very little space for flowers, we do have Knock-Out roses because of their hardiness. They are care free---almost. I loved these gloves and I'm not even a rose gardener, but they were great when working with grasses and other items that are potentially irritating to your skin. However at the end of the season, I washed all my garden gloves and these fell apart completely at the tips of the fingers - the green suede just disintegrated completely. Sad part was they weren't even that dirty - I just wanted things clean for storage and they did say they were washable. Since these came at a quality item price I expected them to come through the same single wash as all my inexpensive gloves did.

My husband laughed at the long sleeves on these gloves. But as soon as I was up to my elbows way down pushing fall leaves into the tall paper bags that the city uses for leaf collection, he recognized that my arms weren't filthy dirty and wet (like his).

I purchased to protect my fingers, hands, arms while cutting back blackberries and wild roses. The gauntlet is great at protecting arms, but the fingers are much too thin and the tiniest blackerry and wild rose thorns stick right through. Ouch! Needs to have thicker leather in the fingers!

My husband and I are clearing some land and I chose these as my Christmas present. I started using them the day after they arrived. I am no longer hesitant to tackle the wild thorned vines, wild rose bushes or blackberry canes. The protective padding has exceeded my expectations. My old rose gloves wore out. These new ones are great because they cover the forearm. I am looking forward to using them on my roses, which I have been avoiding because of the thorns; but I have used them on the "picky" Christmas tree which has been a pleasure. The only drawback is that without a sizing chart I ordered a large so they are a little big.

I love these gloves. I used them in July to dig out shrubs. I didn't get all scratched up and I forgot they were the rose gloves that I was wearing (as opposed to short gloves) and dug in the dirt to pull out roots etc. I worked over five hours digging out roots and my hands didn't sweat even with it being hot outside. Washed up beautifully. Well made. Got another pair for a friend.

I have a Ponderosa lemon tree/bush that has 1 inch thorns. The lemons are as big as, or bigger than grapefruit. The gloves allow me to reach into the bush without getting stuck by a thorn and give me enough grip to pull a large lemon out.
