The best garden tool I own. Don't waste your money on any other cart or wheelbarrow. It has a million uses. One of the best: make a chickenwire screen to fit over the top and use it to sift compost.

As mentioned, the directions for assembly were difficult to understand and the illustrations were misleading. Additional tools were needed; not sure the "average Joe/Josephine" would be able to get through this frustrating experience!

Purchased it to cart heavy bags of mulch, top soil, compost, etc. I also use it to move rocks, which I use as border for my beds. Moves well over grass, even with heavy load.
If I am moving rocks, I put down something to cushion the inside of the cart, since the inside is made of wood, and the rocks would dent it. I use a heavy tarp for this purpose, but old towels, etc. would also work well.

Nice cart. I use it for transporting everything. Looks great in the yard, too.
Only thing I would change would be to have fenders for the tires. They seem rto get caught on a lot. It was a little diffecult to put together. Patience!

The cart itself is perfect for all the gardening we do on our property. No issues with that. The instructions for putting it together were difficult to understand, and the pre-drilled holes did not always match up like you would expect. We had to improvise and drill our own holes. If you can get past all that, the cart is great, and the third we have ordered from Gardener's.

We have a u-pick berry farm and large veggie patch.
This cart replaces one that we "inherited" when we bought the farm. It is showing its age and best guess is that our old one is 20 years old or more. Many handy uses. ONE UNIQUE USE..(When our children were younger they gave each other many "buggy rides" in the large version of this cart.) Holds up to all kinds of use.

The assembly was a little tricky for me (woman in late 50's)but my husband came to my rescue a couple of times and it went together well.
I love this cart, the balance is so good that the weight distribution for heavy items works perfectly!

Haven't used the cart yet. I'm not a whiz at assembling stuff, but this one was tedious and a bit confusing. The bolt assembly doesn't provide a nice flush fit either. After assembly, I applied 2 coats of a satin clear urethane coating, which doesn't take long, looks good and I think will give the plywood extra life. Overall, looks like a good cart.

My husband and I are farmers and we want to buy American products. We deal with difficult assembly and disassembly of equipment on a daily basis. Little did I know that a little garden cart would just about beat us. After I swallowed my pride and asked my husband for help, he had to put the pieces aside until he has time to drill additional holes that will line up with the aluminum trim holes. (Particularly right side piece). Also, the red stain is missing on the edges of the bottom piece. We can certainly reconfigure holes and restain pieces ourselves - but where is the company's quality control and pride?

Beats wheel barrows hands down. Saved me from buying an ATV. Makes hauling loose items such as firewood, mulch, soil and sand a breeze. I can also haul large landscape items like trees or fountains. Hex or allen bolts would be a better choice for hardware I believe, as it would allow you to tighten things up more firmly. This is a minor detail though. I can't believe I waited this long to get one.

Haven't had a chance to use it for gardening yet as it's December in New England but we've trucked fire wood from the wood pile to the house--so much better than a wheelbarrow.Also, the driveway is quite a distance from the house so every Thursday my husband takes the cart out of the barn and leaves it where I park. we load it up with groceries and make one trip to the house instead of multiple trips carrying bags by hand.

Directions were not real clear. We ended up taking it apart to re-do the tali gate. Otherwise, I love the cart. The grandchildren even use it to haul chairs and firewood for our campfires in the back yard and have no difficulty pulling it.

The directions were easy to follow, all the parts were included, plus extras to allow for misplaced or striped screws (didn't need, however) but I put it together in the house and had to wait until I got it through the door before putting on the axle and wheels. It works great and my gardener friend is already planning to get one too. Should I apply spar varnish or leave it natural?

This cart has turned out to be one of the best investments we have made. It can haul everything from boat motors to yard clippings. An added bonus is how easily it can be stored. Takes up very little room when stored on its end. Wish we had gotten one sooner!

The cart is just the ticket for many uses. It has been used to mix soil, to carry concrete blocks, and to hold plants while hardening off before transplanting. The cart has handled some fairly heavy loads that were easy to move once the load was balanced. It is more stable than a wheelbarrow and the tires don't go flat like purely pneumatic tires will. Its wood construction makes me think it will handle hard use better than the molded plastic carts available at most garden stores. The difficulty for assembly is moderate. It took about an hour to assemble by someone who is fairly handy with tools. But, since I don't think I will have to assemble another for a while, it is a small inconvenience. The medium size fits through gates well.

I'm going to preface this review by saying I am a 32 year old guy that is more handy than the average person, and also a father to a 1 1/2 year old so I'm constantly putting new toys and equipment together. I was so looking forward to getting my new cart, but that joy turned to extreme disappointment when I started reading the instructions and seeing how I had to assemble this. Not sure if the instructions recently changed because I am shocked not more people are complaining about this. You have to hammer in more than 30 T-screws into the wood which is a total pain. For this amount of money, why wouldn't the manufactuer just do it? Also, my instructions were completely wrong with several of the steps. The diagrams don't match up to the pieces of would I got so I had to look at the pictures of the cart of the website to see what I need to do. And I also made sure I read the instructions several times before posting this review. Bottom line is the assembly and instructions are absolutely horrible. The cart is actually fairly nice and I do look forward to using it, but definitely be prepared for a frustrating time of putting this together. I would only recommend this cart if you are a patient when putting things together. Otherwise, you'll hate this!

This is a hugh improvement over the wheelbarrow. It doesn't tip from side to side. It rolls over rough spot more easily with taller tires. It holds more. And the benefits go on ....

Received the Garden Cart today. Extremely well packaged. Assembled it in about 35 min, very easy to assemble. Will use it for firewood (3 cord a year) also very useful for my greenhouse. Easy to carry a HEAVY load very well balanced, it moves very easily. Handle height is just right. If your reading this review don't hesitate, order one you won't be sorry. Will recommend this to anyone.

I purchased a garden cart about 25 years ago. I sold my home in 2004 and moved to Maryland and gave the cart to a friend. They are still using it in 2008.
We bought a new home and purchased a cheap knock off well in did not last very long, I gave it away. Than I purchased a Rubbermaid cart to bulky and hard to handle at times. I happy to say I finely purchased the red medium garden cart. It was shipped promptly with no problems. Looking forward to many years of service from my garden cart.

People have raved about these carts for years and when our old wheelbarrow finally went to wheelbarrow heaven, I decided to purchase one. I wish I'd done it years ago! I've used it for everything from hauling stonewall stone, mulch, shrubs for transplanting and tree trimmings. Oh, and giving one of our dogs a ride. This thing carries heavy loads with ease and is so well balanced and sturdy.

The quality and design seems even better compared to a similar cart I've had in use for over 20 years that I've used for moving heavy garden materials and one to two cords of firewood every autumn.
The option that allows for a length extension of the handles is a very nice improvement for a tall user, too.

We use for EVERYTHING. How did we managed so long without it? The only very minor negative was the assembly. Some of the holes didn't quite line up and had to be "fiddled with" making the assembly time longer and peskier than we had hoped. A VERY MINOR problem when stacked up against the positives.

This item was purchased to replace a simular cart I have had for many years and my husband rebuilt as those I found in stores did not have the solid base and sides. I use this cart to haul almost everything from plants to yard debris. It is also convenient to mix planting medium--soil and fertilizers--before adding to the garden. I found this cart to be much better built than my first as metal edging has been added to the side walls and the grip on the handle is more comfortable as my old one did not have any padding on the handle. I expect to get many years use from this cart and recommend it to all gardeners

I really enjoy the capacity of this cart. It can bring all my garening tools in one trip. Unfortunately I have "overloaded" the cart, causing difficulties pushing the load uphill or stopping it when going down. It really is a beautifully constructed cart that will give me many years of gardening pleasure.
