For 25 years, our garden carts have been a beloved tool of gardeners everywhere. That’s because they were designed specifically to meet the needs of gardeners, not adapted from an industrial "utility cart". The big wheels with pneumatic tires roll easily over rough terrain. High sides prevent loose loads like mulch and compost from bouncing out. The axle is positioned to distribute the weight and balance the load. The long handle lets you push or pull with equal ease and has a comfortable neoprene grip. Once you own one of our carts, it’s hard to imagine getting by without it. In fact, many of the original carts are still out there, working hard.

 • Holds up to 500 pounds — as much as 10 wheelbarrows!

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart, Red:

[...]The biggest problem with this cart is the assembly. There is absolutely no reason why it can't come with all of those T-nuts already in place. The instructions, too, would be more helpful if they stated that step one is to pound all of those nuts into place before doing anything else; otherwise, you have to flip the whole thing over and over again which is awkward and weakens the completed construction (the sides, in particular). I've had a few problems with balancing the load. Take care when loading or the cart will tip and possibly injure someone. I had expected to be really excited about this cart but I find myself thinking that it is better than nothing.

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart, Red:

I owned one of these carts 30 years ago and I loved it. I had a little hobby farm and used the cart for hay transport and, best of all, cleaning out the barn. My only criticism is the assembly process. ALL the T-nuts should be installed in the factory. They are very difficult to hammer into the wood. Some go in easily, but most will not go all the way in. As a result, when the screws go in, they push the T-nuts out. Very frustrating.

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart, Red:

I'm happy with the cart but the assembly instructions leave MUCH to be desired. I think it would be helpful to most customers if you identified the assembly pieces with a picture - especially of the various sizes of bolts. The instructions should be very clear as to which bolt is required. First of all, the first step should not be placing T-nuts and bolts into the side panels. The first step should be to pound T=nuts into almost every hole you find. I don't understand why the T-nuts weren't installed at the factory. It would certainly simplify things (You wouldn't have to be flipping the cart again and again to complete the bolting.) Seconldly, the angle irons do not fit into the corners of the U-joint piece. They should be aligned with the front edges of the side panels and then the U-joint aligned with those pieces. I spent hours doing this step alone - even though I knew what it should look like, the holes simply wouldn't line up. It would be helpful if the curved metal legs were marked "left" or "right". Why is one end of the handle tube open and the other closed? I was not able to insert bolts into two bottom trim pieces because they just didn't line up. Whatever you do, DON'T misplace a single bolt, nut, or T-nut. You have only enough to do the job! I have my cart at long last, but if I had to do it again, I would buy one that is already assembled or one that comes with far, far better instructions. Overall, the instructions could use better illustrations and, perhaps, more of them. I've had considerable experience assembling bookshelves, file cabinets, entertainment centers, etc. I should have been able to assemble this project with greater ease.

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart, Red:

I love my cart but the assembly instructions were not clear and we all were very frustrated; and I am a person that reads instructions and don't mind the assembly process. Could these be assembled and then broken down before shipping? (To confirm alignment, supplies etc.)I love the ease of push or pull and my back is much happier. I look forward to years of use!

Have not used it yet since it took a long time to get it assembled. Screw holes were not properly aligned for the handles. It took three people to bend and muscle the handles into place.

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart, Red:

This cart is great! t's heavy duty, extremely well made and should last a lifetime. It's easy to use and very well-balanced and carries everything I can think of in the garden. It's been a great asset in building the retaining wall in our front yard because those blocks are very heavy and a person can only carry one at a time. With the cart, you can carry a whole load. It's been such a big help in completing the project.

It is so much more versatile than a wheelbarrow. Easy for an old lady to wheel around, doesn't tip over and is easy to dump out. A great height to shovel into and out of.

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart, Red:

While this is a great cart functionally, the wood is of poor quality, pre-drilled holes not right, horrible directions for assembly. Definitely not what these carts once were...unfortunately. I am still unable to get the rear panel all the way down. Cart is "whopper-jawed". I will need to re-drill holes to move a bracket to allow rear panel to slide up/down/remove. Presently, the bracket does not clear the bolt that is placed into the pre-drilled hole. None-the-less, we are using it "as is" and it is great for easily hauling all kinds of heavy items. The wheels are great!! Handle is nice. Would not buy again though...until it is returned to its once fine quality. Disappointing.

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart, Red:

#1 - it took forever to actually get it - I ordered on 3/27, didn't receive until 5/9. I would have purchased a different cart this Spring had I known it would take 6 weeks to receive - every 10 days I rec'd another e-mail saying it would be another 10 days - it was a little ridiculous by the beginning of May.
#2 - I was so excited to finally receive, but it was one of the most difficult things I've ever had to assemble - it took me 4 hours and I had to tear it apart twice, and I've built a lot of things - I'm not an amateur with projects like this. Directions are horrible and very hard to follow - throw them out and follow the picture on the front. This would be a MUCH better purchase if it came with most of the fasteners already inserted or the boards themselves were marked. Directions absolutely need to be improved - lengthened with more detail and better illustrations - too many steps were combined and it was very easy to do them incorrectly or in the wrong order.
#3 The wood itself does not look to be the highest quality - it already has 2 big cracks in the base - I hope it holds up after all this waiting and work!
#4 After points 1 - 3 it does seem like a big sturdy cart with great wheels and pretty durable construction (of which I'm painfully aware), I'm excited to finally get to use it - I seem to still have Spring clean up to do even though it's now May!!!

The Dec 08 ice storm simply destroyed our yard.
We have huge limbs that needed to be cut as well as smaller branches, sticks and twigs. The garden cart has been terrific for this clean up. The capacity is ideal. It traverses well over the brush laden terrain. We love the red color!
It's a great product.
