We bought this stool for my husband to use in an idustrial setting for use as a mechanics creeper stool. The construction is sturdy and the pneumatic tires are a huge plus. My husband is not a lightweight guy and the tractor holds him and the tools needed for the job easily. The height is perfect for the many jobs he works on (cranes, earth moving equipment, etc.). Why didn't the tool companies think of this first? Of course, if they had it would have cost 5 X as much!

I wish that it was a little bit closer to the ground but it will be used very much regardless for weeding and general yard maintenance. The hadle broke off the first time I locked it into an upright position. There was not any penetration on the original welds so I had to take to the local welding shop for repairs. Now that is repaired I will be using it when ever working in the garden.

I purchased this scooter to help with weeding my rose bed and around the backyard which is mulched. I've had 3 back and one neck operations hence it is hard for me to be on my hands and knees or to repeated bend over.Be aware that the lowest height is 19" which I thought would be good for me since I am 5'9" but it is just a tad too high but still usable. Also it is hard to steer with or without weight on it. Putting it together was not a snap but not hard either - I got it done in about 45 minutes. It is a great tool for those of us who are need a little help with the bending!

Would like to see a beefer handle. One that would lock when pulled out because when you stop or push backwards the handle slides in. Otherwise it's great - enjoy using it.

The new handle is awkward to use making the cart extremely unwieldy and causing pinched fingers. The steering is so stiff that it's easier to lift the front end up to turn the cart which is made very difficult by the sliding handle. A combination of good ideas which were very poorly carried out. For me it's back to the old lightweight garden stool which is light weight, easy to pick up and move and is about one third the price

The ability to adjust the seat one inch lower than the competition is an advantage when pulling up small weeds and planting seeds.

I breed zinnias as a hobby, and this thing is very handy to sit on and roll around on while I am cross pollinating my zinnias.

I bought the Tractor Scooter for my wife to replace an old, low to the ground plastic scooter that was causing her knee pain and trouble standing after long use. This is so much better on my knees. Kneeling just is not an option any more. I tried one of those seats that tilts and rocks, but i fell off. The tractor scoot is much more stable. Because of the swivel seat, I can work on two rows at a time.

This product is a mental health lifesaver for my husband who recently fractured his tibia. Product allows him to "scoot" along vegetable and flower beds and put his hands in the dirt. Lots of room to carry water bottles and garden equipment. Seat is comfortable and swivels where needed. The only problem is the pull handle. It slips, i.e., does not lock in place, which makes it difficult for me to maneuver the cart.

Helped hubby put it together. Not too difficult at all. One thing I learned is that it's difficult to steer if the bolt connecting the steering to the wheels is too tight. Just loosen it a little if that's the case. I now can weed comfortably as long as I want without getting too tired, or achy, or dizzy when I stand up. The tires are great on my uneven ground, and it's so convenient to just 'weed & scoot.' I'm very pleased with my purchase and I've been telling my friends about it.

Useful gardening aid, allows weeding and dead-heading from a seated position so it's easy on the back, less bending and kneeling. BUT, assembly was not easy, required two people and several wrenches. It is hard to steer while seated, the handle sticks in the lower position so one needs to get up to pull it out to steer. Moves very easily, watch out if you're on a downhill slope.

Take time getting use to the scooter and where you can use it. For example, it didn't work very well inside my flower beds but was wonderful when I was weeding the straight rows in my vegetable garden. My husband has countless flowers and plants in our yard and works with them everyday. His knee replacement and need of another prevents him from kneeling. This well made tractor scoot has been great for pulling weeks and other garden work that used to require bending or kneeling. It has saved a great deal of wear and tear on my knees and back. It's heavy enought to not topple over on uneven ground and the seat is big enough for my husband to use comfortably.

Took a little time to get together, but has a very solid construction. The handle is pretty awkward to use and doesn't perform very well - very difficult to maneuver. The price is very high for this item and the tray beneath the seat holds too much water and makes me believe that it will rust quickly. It looks great, is a perfect height, it has seems very durable and the seat rotation is a very nice thing to have. The price and other difficulties makes me rate it as average because I believe that they cancel out the great qualities.

I was looking forward to this as the answer to knee replacement. It is much more substantial than it appears. The size is good as is the design except for the blunt somewhat sharp leg edges of the seat. It needs a mat or large towel if you are wearing shorts. It is very stable and does not scoot or at least not in my yard. I accumulated a set of childrens gardening tools to use while on the scooter. They have between 23 and 27 inch handles and are just right for my raised beds. I really like the upright stable position of the handle which helps one rise from a seated position. I would buy it again.

One of the first uses of this product was to help my husband cut back the Peony flowers that had "blown". We have over 50 feet of Peonies and it has been a back breaking job to cut them back, until now!

It could use a retractible handle,allowing it to be both pulled and steered. Locking features on the wheels (similar to those on wheel chairs) would keep it staionary while one is working. Grips on either side of the seat would aid dismounting. It is well-made and very sturdy, but somewhat frustrating to use without the above features.

Those tiny screws that attach the black carrier to underneath the scoot are a joke. I had to go to the hardware store and buy some 1/2 inch ones. The scoot came with the rectangular rubber piece unglued. Now I am trying all sorts of glues to get it back on to buffer the handle against the steering mechanism.

We are really enjoying this product, and I think we may need to buy another. I use it in the garden patch, and it's perfect for raised boxes...the perfect height to stake all the tomato plants, without having to bend over again and again.

This product moves well and the adjustable seat makes it very comfortable. The handle came off and had to be welded back on because it was really weak. That is the only issue with this tractor.

The manufacturer evidently never tried to bolt this item together as several bolts were too short for easy assembly.. especially on the tray ..
I had to use my own bolts to get this tray with steel support bars installed.

The ad said the tractor was "back-saving". More than that, it has saved my knees. I have bad knees which has made gardening a wee bit difficult. The tractor scoot helps me to stay off my knees while allowing me to get the work done. The four wheels make it especially stable. It is the best gardening tool I have!

I have used the garden scoot in my greenhouse and for working in beds outside, too. It really does ease the stress on my back, knees and feet for this type of work. The only complaint I have about it is the rubber pad that is glued onto the structure at the bottom of the handle to enable use of the handle for backing up and steadying oneself while getting up or down isn't glued on very well. I am going to have to find some stronger glue for it. Otherwise, I love it!

I use this scooter for planting and weeding my beds. Have tried plastic scooters and they just don't have the comfort or sturdyness of this all metal scooter. I used it for planting the 40+ large containers I have for display of flowers, round about 12" tall.
Great for easier bed prep. and planting. However due to a bad weld, the weld that held the ring for the handle broke right away, I had to pay to have it welded. I also then modified it to pull behind my John Deere Gator CX. This was a MAJOR IMPROVEMENT !! I'm happy with it now.

Being in my 70's, it's not easy to kneel and bend to do low level chores (planting, weeding--even sitting to scrub baseboards, etc.). The scooter made these chores a lot easier. The tool storage makes it all the more handier. Downsides: the handle cover would not stay on; it's difficult to turn the wheels while sitting.

It seems very sturdy and holds a great deal of the small equipment I need for gardening.
HOWEVER.....Even at its lowest, the seat is a bit too high for comfortable bending (weeding, planting etc.).
So far it's difficult (stiff) to scoot along while weeding and gradually turn as needed.
I'll have to wait to see if I'm able to adapt to these problems or if they improve over time before recommending to anyone.
I have high hopes however. It's just so cute!

This was purchased for my 84 year old Mother. I was looking for something durable, safe and easy to use. The locking handle is a very nice feature which allows her a safe way to sit down and rise. The 360 degree turning seat means less time she has to get up.

Overall, impressed with the heavy duty construction. Regarding assembly, I did have to drill new holes for the front steering mechanism as the pre-drilled holes would not line up correctly. No big deal for me since I have the tools, but could annoy someone who doesn't. Great for mid-level gardening tasks which would require stooping, but too high lower level tasks like pulling weeds by hand in beds.

I have major back problems and this thing makes it much easier to enjoy gardening. For me it's just a little difficult to get up and off of it. Some kind of brake would help to keep it from moving when I stand up. Storage areas are handy and maybe I'll make a wheel block to carry along.

My gardens are extensive and on terraces, it's light enough to drag up and down stairs from level to level and makes sharp turns. Pull handle is a little weird.

It was a little difficult to put together because the nuts would not turn on without two wrenches. The seat tilts so you slide forward. Steering from a seated position is problematic. The handle is fine for pulling, but in the way when steering from the seat. It is still a little too high to work easily pulling weeds and/or planting. I am so pleased to have a Garden Scoot! I am handicapped - I use a cane for every step I take, but with Garden Scoot, I can continue to enjoy doing things in my garden! I was very excited to get this cart because I have health issues that don't allow me to bend or kneel. I'm not sure how difficult it is to assemble because someone else did it for me, but it didn't take them very long. The steering is somewhat difficult to handle while pulling or sitting. i have difficulty pushing along while sitting because the wheels don't move as easily as I would like. Also if you are on a slight incline you have to angle it quite a lot to keep it from rolling down. I am still grateful for the steering because otherwise it would have to be dragged or lifting to turn.
Overall I am happy with the purchase, but if I knew I would have to get up every time to move it I probably would have gone with a cheaper option like the rocking one. I do like the seat though, it is relatively comfortable.

I have arthritis in both knees and the scooter allows me to work in my flower beds again. My daughter gave me my first one a few years ago for Mother's Day. I am on oxygen, and the back basket is the perfect size for my little Helios tank.
The steering, however, is the first thing I noticed as a problem. I agree with the reviewer suggesting the handle style from the 'little red wagon', or perhaps even some type of wheel for turning while still sitting on it. And,if you stand up and it's on a hill, it WILL take off downhill!! The only issues are these two, neither of which would prevent me from highly recommending it. The seat is WONDERFUL!! I really like this little scoot! It's small but well-built and durable. At first I thought that the scoot would be a little too high for planting and close-in weeding, but I was wrong. The scoot is a good height and the seat itself is adjustable. Another feature I like is the movable stake in the front: you not only use it to pull the scoot around, but to get up and down. Trust me, when you hit your mid-40s, you look for stuff like that! The scoot also has two carriers for tools, gloves, etc., plus it's easy to store. Finally I have found the seat that is right for me! This scooter lets me get down to a level where I can weed and plant and I no longer have to contend with an aching back from bending straight legged or worry how I'm going to get back up from sitting on the ground to garden. As a person with advanced arthritis in both my knees I had been starting to think gardening was going to be an activity of the past. I had purchased other garden seats with poor results - one seat broke off and another is way too low. This scooter lets me adjust the seat to a height that is comfortable for me. The tires make rolling through the grass easy and the basket and tray come in handy for stashing tools and empty planters. The handle is nice not only for pulling the scooter, but also as a help to stand back up. The construction seems sturdy and my son had no problems putting it together. Great product that really makes my 10" high raised beds easier to handle. There are a few minor things that could make this product perfect:

1. Two screws that hold the plastic tray (under the seat) on need to be longer by 1/2". (These are easily found at any hardware store.)

2. Some kind of wheel lock for use on steeper slopes would be helpful; it tends to roll a little on steep slopes. (Bricks or large rocks work!)

3. I'd like a handle more like a children's wagon handle. This is just a personal preference; the one on the Scoot works just fine.

I use a walker and can't bend, so this garden cart was a dream come true as it gets me back out into my garden! The wide wheels keep the cart from sinking into my soft top soil. However, the first time I used it the pull handle broke right off. The weld was incredibly flimsy, so I'm afraid the next handle they send will have the same problem. Also, the screw plate attaching the basket to the cart is not lined up right, so it has to be bent to fit. Then the basket tilts back and forth. However, customer service, as usual, was great and replacement parts were sent out immediately.

The Large Phillip Head Seat Screws that attach the seat to the cart are made of soft metal and easily strip, making it difficult to attach the seat to the cart. The bottom of the screw has a a non slip nut that requres a very large phillip head screwdriver to hold it steady while tightening. The screws are easily stripped. The sets screws should be replaced with stornger steel and have a hex wrench fitting in the top in order to hold it steady while tightening. GS should supply the hex wrench with the Tractor Scoot

I bought this product to use in weedy areas in the back yard, The seat-to-ground height is perfect for me. Since I am somewhat handicapped I need to sit to weed and plant. But I thought that the handle which extends would lock and be used as a support to help me up when I needed to stand. It is too awkward. The whole handle assembly is not a good fit for me, it is hard to steer from a sitting position. It works very well if one is pulling it behind like a wagon, but not while on the cart. I think I would rather have a steering wheel than the 'stick' and perhaps larger tires for easier turning in soft dirt. I love that it is lightweight. The swivel seat is great! And I am very happy that it is weather proof. We bought the item to help my wife work in the garden. She would easily be termed a master gardener. (I dig the holes, etc.) Following knee replacement and multiple surgeries on her other knee, it became very difficult for her to work in the garden. Our first step was to build raised gardens. Then we bought the tractor scoot which makes it possible for her to continue gardening.
We were disappointed, however, in the quality of the product. The frame was welded with large pieces of welding material causing gaps between pieces. As a result, the rear axle appeared to be too short. I had to grind down one of the spacers in order to get the wheels mounted. This should not have happened. As a result, even though we find the product useful, we would have to think twice before recommending it to anyone else.

I was very excited about this product, but it has had a few problems. The big thing, it doesn't stear at all. That was one of the big reasons for the purchase, ease of use, but I end up having to drag and lift it, to get it to switch directions. The handle grip is very cheeply made. My flexibility has never been great, so when I spend very much time bent over pulling weeds or picking produce, my thighs are tight for several days. This seat on wheels helps so much. I spent a full day last weekend working in my flower-beds. I did notice after a full day, the metal seat was getting uncomfortable. Improvement idea: I have a bicycle seat that has a gel pad for the top of the seat and material that wraps around the side with a draw-string at the bottom to keep it in place. Something like that would be an ideal addition.

My neighbor's 13 year old has been helping me in the garden this year. It took all of 30 seconds for the neighbor's 3 and 13 year olds to start to covet this little beauty, which is MUCH studier than my Red Rider (so I don't need to supervise)and more fun for all than my garden cart. The only draw back we have found is that the handle does not lock in place so it is cumbersome to push it backwards.

Easy to assemble, took about two hours. Self locking nuts are a bit of an effort to tighten for an old guy like me, but glad they were used, no loose nuts later.

The only thing I am worried about is whether it is weather resistant. I was keeping in the garage, but ran out of room. Now it is outside covered with a bar-b-q cover, so I hope it doesn't rust.

Since my recent knee replacement surgery-and perhaps having my other knee done in the future. This is a great seat for me to work in the garden to plant and weed. Due to my surgery, it is hard to bend my knees. This will be a great help to me.

The steering could use some changes such as longer bolts with bushings in the steering mechanics. Also if the user had the ability to lower the extending handle so the cart could be towed by a lawn tractor that would make it much more mobile.

tire was flat when product arrived. We had to purchase an inner tube before it could be used. We had purchased it as a gift and were very disappointed.

Works just as advertised. I've even used it to haul 40 lb bags of soil/compost to my garden beds. Only improvements needed are a lockable handle and a brake for when using on an incline.

The seat is wonderful, the height is just right for an adult to use in getting close to areas that require a lot of bending and stooping. My husband plans to use it for working on and repainting baseboards in the house.

I have severe osteoarthritis in both knees and the "Tractor Scoot" allows me to finally get close enough to work among my many flower gardens and landscaped areas. The swivel seat is terrific for changing seating directions. The storage area is handy for most everything you need to garden with even my garden spade. My yard slopes and hand breaks would stop the slight rolling. An ergonomic (sticky rubber) handle would give a better & larger secure grip.

This Tractor Scoot was taken to two meetings and everyone thought it was so neat. It will be nice for someone with bad knees or hips too as you can sit on it and weed or plant.

in a formal garden with established paths, it works great. certainly saves the back, knees and eliminates any difficulties getting up or down. but in a garden that is being established, freshly plowed or on a hillside, dont waste your time with this thing.

overall this is a well built item, though the front axles are made of high grade steel, they were welded to their carriers at an odd angle. the wheels had to be FORCED onto the front axles. this will lead to front wheel wobble and front wheel deterioration - with ultimate failure.

if you spend a significant amount for an item such as this thing, be aware that you are buying a product with a fairly short life. those front wheels just wont hold up. too bad really because it is based on an excellent idea - at least in concept.
