A joy to use

Cons:

Best Uses:

Bottom Line:

Comments about Winged Weeder:

I love the way you can stand and skim away small weeds. Need to rake up the weeds after cutting but that is simple. Most times you could just use the tool on it's side to gather the weed heads.

Not good for removing dandelions, deep rooted weeds, or large clumps of crab grass. Haven't tried digging with it yet though.

Lightweight, sharp, durable and just an overall pleasure to use. I am sure I will find more uses as time goes on but only have had it a few weeks. Have already loaned it to family members and friends.

It is a treasure to have in my tool arsenal...don't ever stop making it so that others can discover its wonders.

Comments about Winged Weeder:

I had one of these weeders years ago and lost it! I have purchased what I thought was the same only to find they only had a one way weeding capability - one style cut on the push and another style on the pull. This one gets weeds just below the surface in both your push and pull! Love it!

Comments about Winged Weeder:

After searching with no luck all over N. Georgia and Florida while on vacation, I was excited to find the exact scuffle hoe I need on your website. The weather on the Gulf Coast of Florida is finally cool enough to get out and attack the bazillion dollar weeds that have crept into the garden during the hot summer months. This style hoe is perfect to slide under and lift those runners. It is a perfect fit to get in between tight fitting garden plants. I expect to be a "bazillionaire" soon. Thanks.

Comments about Winged Weeder:

this is a wonderful labor saving device! I had one before and lost it in my divorce, but I have been looking for a replacement for years. I haven't used Gardener Supply's version yet, but I will tell you how my old one worked: it slid smoothly just under the soil surface and cut weed stems on both the forward and back strokes: so easy! the cons are that tap roots remain to re-sprout on things like dandelions and of course the disruption of the soil surface can lead to dormant weed seeds sprouting later. it provides excellent and efficient superficial cultivation in a relatively smooth open area (i.e.between rows in a garden, or preparing a lawn for seeding). don't forget to mulch after use in your beds, to keep new weeds down...

Comments about Winged Weeder:

This is the only tool my arthritic hands can use for hours when gardening. It does anything I want or need it to do. After 20 years of use I broke one of the wing tips. Had a local company make a new wing for me. They had to do it twice to find steel strong enough, And it cost me $20. This tool is a bargain and at a bargain price. Every woman and/or man should have one. Great Mother's Day or Father's Day gift.

Why did I wait so long to get a Winged Weeder ? Besides this purchase, I also ordered the Hula Hoe...with these two tools, weeding the garden is NOT the chore it used to be! Both of these hoes get in and around your crops and in no time at all,the weeding is done. Highly recommended, you will be very satisfied with the results. Gardeners Supply is great to do business with!!

A multi-purpose tool that is more effective and easier to use then any of the host of other tools! Light, durable, self sharpening and ergonomic in design.
Stand upright and easily slide the Winged Weeder any direction and have it weed, till and manage the soil. Roll the handle in your fingers and change its function. It replaces virtually all other tools. (except the spade) And... it is affordable!!
I have yet to find a problem with it.
I have sold this tool in Canada for a number of years and have a multitude of testimonials as to its value and merit

Comments about Winged Weeder:

I've been using the Winged Weeder for many years. I have metal edging between my grass and planting beds. This tool is the best for scraping along the edging to remove the grass that manages to jump to the other side. When planting, I use this to make furrows and then cover them. It goes right up next to bushes and plants to get rid of weeds. I love my Winged Weeder.

I was lost! It is not available in my area so i am grateful to find it here.

Comments about Winged Weeder:

I wore one of these out. Several years we attended a home and garden show and they were selling the winged weeder, we needed a new hoe and took a chance. We loved it, can't imagine gardening without one. It cuts thoese weeds off and makes planting seeds easier because you can use the tip to make a small furrow to place the seeds in, then gently cover them up. I'm so happy Garden Supply started to carry them because the one we had is worn out. They also make a small one that is purfect for flower gardening.

Comments about Winged Weeder:

Picked this up at a garden show a few years ago. I wanted to be able to weed standing up. It does slice the weeds OK. Can be used like a hoe. I used it alot this winter to break up the ice - use the point to break or slide it under to lift.

Comments about Winged Weeder:

I wore one out. I had it for at least 10 years before it just wore out. These are the best hoes, you can dig out deep weeds, dig holes for potatoes, trans plants, or for fine seeds like lettuce. It Will just role out chick weed and with care get close to growing plants. It is truly the best hoe I ever used and I was thrilled when I saw you were now caring it. They also make a small one that is nice for flower gardens.
