I placed the four water stakes in random places around a very large planter. Some of the plants didn't survive a long weekend on their own. The stakes could be larger.

This item is easy to use practical, great for plants that tend to need watering all the time since using these creates a bit of time release watering. Also great for pots without drain holes helps prevent overwatering and run off in pots with soil with poor water retention qualities.

I use these water stakes for my indoor and outdoor potted plants or flowers in conjunction with plastic water bottles. I place the water stake in the pot, take a used plastic water bottle, fill it with water, and then place it into the water stake and it slowly waters my plants. These are wonderful if you go on vacation or if you are forgetful when it comes to watering your plants.
