Great tool. I could have used this many times over the years. In New Jersey we have clay type soil and digging in can be rough. The serrated edges make it a piece of cake! The scoop is great to add amendments in after you've dug the hole.
Comments about Soil Scoop:
I love it! It digs the holes, it cuts through root balls and tamps in the finished product. Voila!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Comments about Soil Scoop:
I ordered this on a whim, and have been glad ever since! My front garden has a lot of roots from older shrubs and trees that previous owners planted. This makes digging small holes for annuals and bulbs a breeze.

Comments about Soil Scoop:
This scoop is great! It easily cuts through weed roots, hard soils and allows removal of a significant amount of dirt per scoop! Not like a trowel where the dirt just falls off the sides. Liked it so much I started buying them as gifts for other gardeners I know.

Comments about Soil Scoop:
I seem to lose my share of hand spades and the like, but will definitely try to keep this one. It's new to me, but I think it seems built to last. I've had cheaper ones which break right away and others which blend in so well that they rust before I can find them. This one will last and I have pledged myself to take of it.

Comments about Soil Scoop:
This was a Christmas gift to my husband--the gardener. He was delighted with it. Obviously--living in Maine--it has not yet been tried out. But I know it will be well used.

Comments about Soil Scoop:
I can't plant pots without the Soil Scoop. Well, I could. But without it there's that pile of perlite and potting soil that slips off a trowel and falls on the patio, making a big mess.
The curved shape of the soil scoop is perfect for scooping up potting soil, potting up plants and topping off containers.
I like the Soil Scoop so much that I used it for the first product giveaway on my blog, The Garden Buzz. I feel that strongly about it.
Happy Gardening!

Its a little strange at first because you don't use it like a typical planting spade. However once you get the hang of it you'll wonder why no one thought of this before. Great for planting and transplanting of flowers or veggies.

I have found that for the claims of this product, the cobrahead weeder is a more effective tool. However, I plan to use my soil scoop in my seed starting room this winter.

I use the Soil Scoop every day. Sure it is great for scooping soil to fill pots, but it also has serated edges so it is excellent for digging in the ground and even cutting roots. Yesterday I was using it to help with weeding chores. I own two of these and I could not garden without them.

Comments about Soil Scoop:
I am always on the lookout for perfect gifts for my family. My Mom is a big gardener, and had just broken her third trowel! I wanted to get her something that was super strong and versatile. This did the trick! She has used it in rocky soil, sandy soil, and clay-like soil, and it comes through every time.

I've used this tool for everything from uprooting a stubborn weed to mixing dry rose food into the soil and more. How in the world did I ever get along without it? The handle is really neat, too. Good grip!
