Plants thrive in these award-winning biodegradable transplant pots. Cowpots™ are the patent-pending invention of Matt and Ben Freund, two Connecticut dairy farmers who were looking for an environmentally responsible way to dispose of cow manure. The manure is dried, completely composted, mixed with natural fibers, and pressed into pots. Gardeners love Cowpots because they are odorless and free of weed seeds. Plants love Cowpots too, because transplant shock is greatly reduced. Best of all, Cowpots are 100% biodegradable. They last for months in the greenhouse or windowsill, but will dissolve within weeks after planting in the garden, providing essential organic nutrients. We are very excited about Cowpots, and recommend them to any gardener who wants to increase plant health and reduce waste.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I bought a bunch of these two years ago and used them for seeding, rather than the little plastic 6-packs. I found I these were sturdy and large enough that I could skip the transplant I had to do with the 6-packs. The cow-pots could go straight in the ground and the seedlings have always done well. I've been using them ever since.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Just the right size for transferring seedlings that have outgrown their APS cells. They're biodegradable and because they are separate units (unlike APS cells), they're great for giving plants away to others. When the degrade, they provide nutrients. Just right.

I'm using the cowpots to transplant my tomatoes from the APS system. The plants are healthy and thriving. I can't wait to plant them outside. I will definitely order more.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Used the smallest ones to start seeds and the larger for the transplants. Could put the smaller directly into the larger which meant I didn't disturb seedlings when I transplanted.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I love this the smallest size for starting seed and the larger ones for potting up/hardening off before the plants go into the garden. The roots have no problem growing through the walls and that keeps transplant shock to a minimum.
They fact that they get moldy is a bit of a concern, but so far it's been cosmetic and I have not had problems with damping off. The pots are also quite fragile when saturated with water.
I think they are a wonderful alternative to the peat products out there and a great use for bovine manure. My plants seem to love them!

Wish I didn't live 43 miles away in the CAP without ever having a drivers license, with best buddie passing away 5 yrs. ago, happiest in her car and would drive me anywhere. MISS my visits at the Intervale store where my same huge credit card "going nutz" for so many years, and allowing my son "sort of" free reign last spring to buy soiless product (needs many bags at [$] a clip)for my 4 tomato Gardening Supply, self-watering planters of years ago. Mega-bucks last spring, plus more for window boxes. Gardening is a great BLOOM in the country today, but at near 80 yrs. old, the prices in all gardening sources are astronomical and crushing us old gardener OUT!!But who cares; mega younger gardeners are coming in by the droves w/local food to plate which is a must, and becoming more successful.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Thanks for using what we have a lot of. The seedling grow quite good in the pots and easy to plant in pots or the garden

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I love the idea of these pots but I have found that they absorb so much of the moisture that the plants in the pots dry out and it is hard to keep them adequately wet and growing.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I have a seed starter so I transfer the seedlings to cowpots and let them mature enough to go out to the garden--no "shock" when transplanting, they are great--unfortunately just a bit stinky so I can't keep them indoors.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
This is my third year with cow pots and every year I purchase a larger number of them. At first I was concerned that they might not hold together until I got them into the garden, but that has not been the case at all. I have to be careful not to soak them, but that isn't a problem. And it's worth that one issue to know that, when it's time to put my plants in the garden, I'm doing so in the best transplant pot.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Cowpots-what a green, practical, eath-friendly way to go. No "ugly-throught provocing product". These pots are made from the same fertilizing products we use in the garden already so why not do the same to start seeds indoors. Because of the materials and use of these materials the seedlings do not have to be "pulled" from the pot, thus elimanting damage to the plant. Just plant the pot and water normally and watch the plants grow and know there will be not unused pot remains left to be a problem in the soil.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
This is the second year I will be using these to plant my seedlings into larger pots before putting them into a raised garden bed.
Last year the cow pots helped to produce larger tomatoes. I am using them on petunias this year in addition to tomatoes.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
These cow pots are wonderful! Used them to start my cukes, squash and green beans from seed. The plants are healthy looking and transplant into the ground easily. The only thing bad about them, and this really isn't bad, is they do have an odor at first but it goes away after you water them a few times. Anybody who is starting seeds should use these cow pots.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I'm trying to grow more naturally without chemicals and these are perfect. plant the seed in the pot, let it grow, and transplant into the garden without throwing out a lot of trash as well as natural fertilizing of the soil. great product.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Seeds germinated well in soil. Proof will come when the tomato plants are ready to be placed in the soil outside.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
It's too cold to plant yet here in Colorado but I am excited about using these pots for my transplants.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Love the pots. They make transplanting so easy. I had only one pot that was deformed and the bottom wouldn't sit straight. I am using a heat mat and a grow light to get seeds started. Gardener's Supply has it all!
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
To prevent seedling loss during spring planting, I protect the delicate plants by sowing indoors and transplanting the entire cow patty pot and plant outdoors when the weather has stabilized.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
First time user... unable to give accurate rating but if it is like every other Gardener's product i have purchased over the years, it will perform well!
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Purchased for my husband who refuses to buy established plants....seeds only! So far he likes these better than previous system.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Love these cowpots! Put in your seed starting mix, your seed, put several cowpots in plastic tray and water in tray. Your water will never touch your seed so they stay in place and germinate easily.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
The Cowpots fit perfectly in the TableTop T5 Grow light. It was so very easy to fill with potting mix and then plant my seeds.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
These cowpots are wonderful for seed-starting, especially because you can start seeds directly in them and don't have to worry about transplanting them to larger receptacles before you set them out. I have had no trouble with my seeds germinating, and I am a beginning gardener; it is possible that others who had difficulties with seeds germinating didn't keep the growing medium moist enough or warm enough, or that the seeds just weren't viable. My early-season seedlings (onions, peas, cabbage, kale, broccoli, lettuce) are all doing wonderfully in these, and the rainbow chard is just beginning to come up. I don't think that the mold that grows on the outside of the pot has any adverse effect on the seedlings, as mine are thriving. In fact, my pea shoots are getting so huge that I had to stake them, and these are supposed to be a dwarf variety! An added bonus to these pots, and one which of course doesn't occur with any other seed-starting receptacle material: my cats are freaked by the smell of the cow poo (I can't smell it, but they can), so they don't try to nibble the seedlings like they did last year!!!

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I grow my own vegetables and flowers from seed every year. I was excited to use this product — I love the idea of it. The last couple years I started seedlings in peat and cowpots as well as my usual plastic yogurt containers. The seedlings in the cow pots were drastically smaller and weaker than the seedlings grown in the plastic containers. Just as a word of advice, don't start all your seedlings in cow pots if you do try them out. Do half and half so you can still have some strong plants.I wish this product worked. I love the concept behind it!Here's my review:[@]
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Do not have transplant shock because can plant the whole pot with the plant.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
We use the product to start seeds in the greenhouse and to transplant outside. So far it has worked well for us.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I planted tomatoes in these pots and in my usual system in a side-by-side comparison. I used the same seeds, heat, light, fertilizer and garden placement when I planted them out. The seedlings in these pots were no hardier, nor did they grow larger than the others. In fact, I found that the soil in these pots dried out very fast and had to be watered twice as often before they were transplanted out. The roots were no stronger, the plants no larger, and the production no heavier. My regular, reuseable and inexpensive system worked a lot better. I will not be purchasing these again as I feel they are far too expensive and produce no results that justify their cost.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I loved this idea. No more little green pots taking up space. It also fertilizes itself.[...] I would definately get them again.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I just love these Cow Pots! I got them last year for the first time & have ordered quite a few this year. They are wonderful to transplant your seedlings into and then when they are ready for outside-just our them in the ground. It just does not get much better than that. You are not taking them out of whatever you had them in & taking a chance of breaking the stems or roots. They are the best things going for planting. Plus when you do put them in the ground they just compost. Do not hesitate to try these. You will love them too!!
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Well what can I say- I have all the sizes & will continue to buy them for next season! They are just the best pots as far as I am concerned. I could not be without them. My plants are doing much better since they are only transferred once or not at all if I start the seeds in them.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I think these pots are a great idea- they recycle, provide nutrients, & can be planted directly into the ground or larger pot. I used them this year to contain the seedlings I'd started with the API system. Using them was a bit difficult because they were hard to separate from each other & you had to be careful as you tugged them apart because they would just come apart if you pulled too hard.
The main problem was that the pots became mouldy very quickly after the seedlings were transplanted into them. They sat, mouldy, in my kitchen until they could be hardened-off outdoors before planting. It was not a lovely or appetising sight...
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
When I want to start just a few seeds of a plant, these are especially useful and adaptable. I tend to use them for most of my seed starting. I like that the roots are undisturbed. They make planning/planting a bed much easier.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Works great to start seeds.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Using these pots with the Organic Transplanting Mix has given me seed starting success every time. They hold moisture better than peat pots (therefore, be careful not to over water them). It is so easy (and better for the plants) to stick the plants, pot and all, directly in the ground. And it is also wonderful not to be using plastic-and to be using a "made in the USA" product!
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Excellent for transplanting seedlings, and no need to remove from pot before planting in garden.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I used the 5" to start seeds. I should have used the smaller size because the capacity of the 5" is more than I needed. But it was easy to tear off the top (since I didn't fill them all the way to the top with soil)and I just mixed the torn-off pieces into the dirt for added nutrients. I'll use them again next year - just smaller ones. Best thing about these is there is no plant shock!

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I put standard potting soil into the cowpots, then put my seeds in. The seeds sprouted, then shriveled up. That has never happened with standard plastic or clay starter pots.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
These cow pots fit into the seedling kit I purchased previously from Gardener's Supply. I just pulled them out when the seedlings grew to the right size, and stuck them in the ground. I could see roots coming out the bottom and sides. They are great!

So far, so well. Some of my cowpot transplanted tomatoes are in a garden next to tomato seedlings pulled out of plastic pots. We'll see which ones do better.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Haven't put anything in the ground yet because it's still too early in Minnesota. BUT - so far, the seedlings are all really happy in their cowpots! I did find something similar at the local garden center for less money though.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Worked best for me if I didn't keep the soil too damp, otherwise they would absorb the moisture and start to grow mold. Great product though!
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I received these pots as part of the seed starting kit. I sowed my seeds and watered as instructed. These pots grew mold within days! They are awful.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I filled the pots with organic seed starter. They are holding up well and will make transplant easy without distubring roots and continuing to feed my plants. i'll be buying more of these! Price is reasonable!
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
This is the first year that I have tried these pots.I love them because you can just put them in the ground and you don't have to transplant them in the ground. This is what I call recycling and using what nature has given us.What a great idea. Can't wait to put them in.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
First time I have used this and I like it very much. Ease of planting prodded me to purchase.
Along with using a waste product creatively
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
After germinating flower seeds in peat pellets in February/March, these cowpots are just the right size for a pre-garden transplant. The square size allows more seedlings per square foot under the lights than round pots.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
These are great for starting things inside that are tough to transplant, and to protect seeds from being dug up by squirrels. I've used them for peas (our Springs are fairly cool, but short. Once they sprout, it's not long before it gets hot!) Trying them this year for beets and melons. I love that they're made from poo!! :-)

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
This is the first year I have used the cow pots. So far I am more than satisfied.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I use all sizes of the cowpots for all seed starting projects. They hold water and absorb from capillary matting. It's so easy to transplant them directly into self watering boxes or directly into a garden bed. I like knowing the roots of the transplants are not disturbed and actually are fed by the pots.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Indoor seedlings just a few weeks out but the pots are holding up fine. I have not transferred them to the soil yet.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I started my seeds this year in these cowpots along with the organic seed starter. All seeds germinated within a week and some did on day 4. They are all tomato plants so that is very quick. Great product, will use again next year.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I plant tomato seed in my cowpots. I keep six pots in a large tupperware tray. I fill the pots with seed starter. I add water with a small amount of liquid fertilizer, keeping about a half inch of water in the tray. When the plants are four to six inches tall, I bury them in my square foot garden, leaving two inches of tomato plant above ground. The pots fertilize the tomatos.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
nice product,very sensible
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
-Transplanted tomato and pepper seedlings into these pots - so far, they are doing great!
- Pots are lightweight, but seem to hold water well
- Attractive - plan to use at our upcoming Plant Sale!
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
So far so good but they haven't been planted outside yet.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
No fuss, no muss! Just a great product to insure seeds go right to in-the-ground healthy plants.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I like to plant rare, expensive seeds such as Holland cucumbers and Carmello tomatoes. To protect my investment, I need a pot that transplants without endangering tiny, fragile seedlings. Last year I used the small cowpots. I am delighted that this year five-inch cowpots are available. Thanks Matt and Ben
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I bought these because they were natural, and from what I heard a good company, within 2 weeks they turned all my seeds and soil to mold and they are all falling apart. The container itself has turned moldy also...I have never seen this happen as I sow my own seeds every year.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
You are wasting your time and money if you don't use the cowpots for your plants. I can't even compare with the other seed pots.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
These are the best biodegradable pots I've ever used. They held up well during the seedling stage and transplanted wonderfully to the garden while being fed with the manure in the pot. Wonderful product!
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Using to start seeds for pepper, eggplant, tomatoes and some of my annual flowers. Like that it is made with cow manure & is earth friendly. These 3" pots look more like a 2" size. I'd tell everyone that you are better off with the 4" one, saw ones a friend bought. They would grow any thing from start, to putting them right in the ground when it is time to plant in your neck of the woods!!
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
My cowpots grew green mold after a week or two under my grow lights. I bought the whole kit, placed them on the capillary mat, and not only do they not suck up the water from below, they grow green mold since I have to mist the pots to keep my seedlings most. I don't think it is hurting the seeds so far, but it's kinda gross. My peat pots not only suck up the water from the capillary mats, they also are mold free. I never even have to water them. I was appalled when I thinned my seedlings and the dirt a couple centimeters below the top of the cowpots was bone dry despits being on the capillary mat and having me water every day. Anyone have a suggestion as to how to remedy this? I am not a beginner by any means.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
This is a great idea. I've started plants and they are thriving in this. Can't wait to get them in the ground.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
There was just a slight smell the first day, but since then, no odor. I planted 3 seeds in each pot like I usually do with regular growing pots. In previous years it's been hit or miss on seeds taking. This year I have had to pull two seeds out on each pot because they all sprouted. (I used the same seeds left from last year). All plants are thriving. I was amazed in the short time how much root growth there is on the ones I pulled out. They looked so healhty I hated to thin the pots out.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
We have winters with frozen ground and lots of snow, especially this winter. Just about the time I couldn't stand not having my hands in dirt, these came! We are SOOOOO excited to get our garden started in these! My kids LOVE pumpkins but with the shorter growing season here, they HAVE to be started indoors. Here is the perfect, nurturing, root gentle solution to that delicate process! We also love growing flowers and these will help up have color sooner and for a longer time! Can't Wait!
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
PERFECT for transfering a little sprout to, letting it grow under lights, then transfering the whole thing to the garden -- OR to a bigger pot. Unlike "peat pellets", which I am still finding in my garden 3 years later, these DO disappear by the end of the season, AND there were MORE roots out thru them than any other "peat pot" (of whatever material) I have tried.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
the 4" cowpots give seedlings better room for germination and nutrients for growth

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I just tried these pots this season & am happy with the way they are staying moist. Also like the fact that I can put the plants right into the garden when the time is right & there will be the fertilization factor kicking in.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
These pots look like they will help transplants form the starting bed develop great roots and transplant to the garden well.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I have just started my seeds. so I can"t comment on these yet. The only thing I notice is they are hard to get apart to use.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I'm using these to start my seeds indoors while it's still snowing outside. I'm looking forward to being able to plant the pot which will also fertilize the plant once it's in the ground and begins to decompose - certainly good for the ecology.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
These are great for Begonia Cuttings, especilly canes, as they can be put directly into the ground or pot and need no further transplanting.
We just did not buy enough of them for all our uses.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Easy to see the difference these cow pots make - worth the money without a doubt.
Go to the manufacturers website and see how they are made - its amazing!
I use nothing but these now.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I first tried the cowpots two years ago and was so impressed the seedlings being healthy and grew so well.Last year I didn't order any due to time and I couldn't believe the difference in the regular fiber pots and cow pots. Trust me you'd never use anything else to start your seeds after trying cow pots.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
These are great as they minimize transplant shock while adding nutrients to the soil.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
It is still too early to plant seeds, but I love that this product will feed my plants, even after transplanting into the ground. I also like that individuals are being creative and seeking good choices or alternatives.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I thought they would be bigger so that the root system, and stalk could develop longer before having to transplant. The next day after I had ordered I saw the tv show "Dirty Jobs" with Mike Rowe, they did a story on the invention of the pots as a way to use a natural by-product of the dairy industry that makes a lot of sense to me and is sure to be a big seller. Congratulations on the national media attention.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I like the idea of using this material instead of it being left to lay around a farm. The pots held up well to the time of tranplanting into our garden. A few fell apart when we tried to move them after they got soaked. It has really nice not having to take plants out of pots. Now we have the added nutrients through the pots.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
This product was perfect. I used the pots to start seeds. They held their shape through many waterings and germination. When the plants were big enough to plant, the pots were starting to decompose. All I had to do was gently lift the potted plants and set them directly in the ground. The pots started breaking down as I pushed dirt around the plants, forming a layer of compost to feed the root systems. They worked out perfectly and my seedlings are growing beautifully!

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I planted my vegetable seeds in cow pots, plastic planters and peat pots to see which kind of pots worked the best. The only seeds that failed to germinate were those in the cow pots. None of the cow pots produced seedlings, even after replanting. Seeds tested fine. All seeds in the other pots sprouted. I noticed that the soil in the cow pots was bone dry every day. These pots may be OK as a transition medium before final transplant, but they are not good for starting seeds.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:

Great root protection for planting in the garden.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I used these for the first time this year and I will never use another type of transplant pot again! My plants are so healthy and strong and the pots are holding up beautifully. My friend had given me some of her seedlings in other biodegradable pots and they are falling apart already - not mine! I also love the fact that these are a "green" product - so clever and eco-friendly to use cow manure! There is absolutely no odor. The only two kind of negative things that I can even think of about cow pots is that they are a bit on the pricey side (although that won't stop me from buying them next year!) and that some of them were a little hard to take apart, but that's it! I highly recommend this product!!
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I love this idea. I started my tomato plants and some peppers in the cowpots, and they germinated nicely. The pots retain moisture well, yet do not deteriorate significantly. It is too early for me to plant them in the ground, so I rated them 4 stars simply because I don't know how well they will perform in that process. My goal was to avoid transplant shock, and it appears that these cowpots will accomplish that.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I like the idea of giving young transplants a boost in preventing transplant shock while fostering a stronger root system
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
live in WV and not going to start seeding until middle of April. then in May 15 going to tran plant using cow pot hope they work.If so i will buy them again. The peat moss pots hold to much of water and did not drain well.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Love the idea of being able to plant the pot and all. In our humid climate, the pots did develop some mildew during the hardening off process. I decided not to worry about. The pots held together nicely until I got ready to plant them.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
The cowpots are sturdy compared to some others I've tried and they stay firm, hold water well, and have good drainage. I'll be transferring the pots to the garden later so I'll see what happens as the season progresses.

Something was needed for starting melons in and these are good! My sister also has beautiful tomates started in them.

started cucumber and tomato seeds
they are thriving!
great product
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I was sorry i didn't get the larger size. The bulbs i put in took off like lightning. I used the drought resistant soil and hoped the plants would be ready to transfer to the outdoor garden by the time it warmed up. Between the soil and the pots the bulbs got ahead of me and need to be moved to bigger pots for at least 2 weeks. I am just more then pleased with both items i purchased.

My tomatoes and cilantro are already sprouting!
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
These have really made my seed starting efforts easy and successful. I've had excellent results with all the vegetable varieties I've tried.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Use for starting vegetables, houseplants, and outdoor annuals. third year that I have ordered them and have recommended them to many friends.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
A couple of the pots were a little difficult to pull apart, so be careful in that respect. Otherwise, I think they will work great.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Great, natural way to start seedlings and then transplant them to the permanent garden after frost. Highly recommend!
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
these are real nice .my plants grow real good in these pots .the cow pots do it all .
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I transfer my seedlings to cow pots while nurturing the plants indoors. I find that the seedlings do very well, and the cow pots do not fall apart before they are planted outside. As a matter of fact, I find that the cow pots are more sturdy than regular peat pots. I find that the peat pots have a tendency to begin to disintegrate before I am ready to plant outside. I also like to encourage small business people and buy their products.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I used this product for several vegetable plants and planted the seedlings and cow pot together into the soil. I also transplanted, side by side, similar seedlings directly into the ground and the growth on the plants in the cow pots developed much, much slower. Unfortunately I won't use these again. I truly wanted these to work because I think the concept is wonderful!
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I used the product last year to transfer seedlings from jiffy peat
discs after they got too big for the discs. I also put the cowpots right
into the ground when planting time came in the spring.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Great for transplants to the vegetable garden.
Alternative to endangered peat and good use
of a readily available source.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I had many small cacti that needed to be transplanted (grown from seed). Fill the cow pot with sand mixture. You only have to handle the cacti once. They are ready to drop in a hole and are ready to grow. How easy is that?
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Great to use to transplant either into pots or outside.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I started my vegetable plants from seed this year. Using Cowpots made transplanting a snap. All my plants survived and are growing like crazy. I have lots of blooms already and that means lots of tomatoes soon. The best thing is no plastic pots to store or throw away!
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I gave this as a b'day gift to my daughter who is an avid gardener. She used them to start her seedlings for her vegetable garden. She was very pleased with the gift.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Not any better than a regular peat pot. Paid extra for this product and expected better results. Seedlings did not thrive and your pot did not crumble easy.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I had seedlings in Cowpots and in the regular peat pots and the Cowpots were 10 times better when it came time to water. The regular peat pots would dry out much earlier than the Cowpots and I found that the water was absorbed better in the Cowpots. Great idea for a product, will definitely purchase more.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
These pots are the perfect size for transplanting your seedlings into, when its still too cold to plant those seedlings outdoors. Outdoor planting is easy too since the entire biodegradable pot can be planted directly in the ground.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I planted tomato seeds in the cowpots, then when weather warm enough and plants bit enough, I just put the cowpot in the ground and the tomato plants did not have transplant stress. These tomato plants are bigger than last year!
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Great way to start seeds or seedlings and no shock transplanting into garden or a pot.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I used these pots to start my melons, squash, and gourds. They tended to fall apart before I could get them in the garden and the plants didn't do as well when transplanted as those I started in regular peat pots.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I've used the poo pots for two years now for tomatoes that I grow in containers on my patio. The pots feed the tomatoes which makes them happy. The pots break down quickly after planting and watering. These are going to be part of my regular tomato growing regime as the results are fantastic!
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I use the Cowpots to start my seeds. These pots don't smell and are quite sturdy. I like them better than the peat pots because they break down better. I like the fact that they are made from an organic material and it's a bit of fertilizer.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I used them for my pepper transplants this year. Plants are in the ground, very healthy and strong, and have peppers ready to pick a couple weeks earlier than usual.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I really like these pots to transplant my seedling into. They are a good size which allows the plant to grow to a nice size before transplanting to the garden. They held up very well outdoors even with daily waterings and once planted in the garden they broke down quickly and did not seem to inhibit the root growth.
I highly recommend these over peet pots.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I use these cowpots to tranplant my daylily seedlings. The pots plus your transplant soil will allow for an easier transfer to an outside bed of stock daylilies.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
These pots worked better than any others I used this year for transplanting seedlings. Becaause you can plant the whole pot, there is no transplant shock. I recommended them to several friends who grow seedlings, too.
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
The best thing about these is they are from a renewable resource (not peat) and biodegrade right into the soil. I can feel good about using them, knowing that cows have contributed something to the health of my soil.

Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
Used them for my seedlings. They did not disintergrate. The roots grew through the bottom hole but did not do as well as plants I planted in plastic and removed from the plastic pots for planting
Comments about Biodegradable Cowpots™:
I used cowpots to pot up my tomato plants that I started from seeds. The plants grew fantastically, and were very easy to transplant into the garden. The plants continue to do well, even though I started my tomatoes later that usual I have ripe ones already! I don't have any cons for this product. I will use them again!!
