Please note: We are currently unable to supply our 9-quart Germinating Mix (03-199). As a substitute, we are offering our 30-quart Transplant Mix at the same great price. It has all of the important ingredients to produce healthy seedlings but has a slightly coarser texture than Germinating Mix. We’re confident that you’ll enjoy the same great seedstarting results.
When seedlings outgrow their original growing cells, re-pot them in our Transplant Mix, which contains sphagnum peat, perlite and vermiculite, and has a coarser texture than Germinating Mix.

The medium wet down easily and had a great germination rate on seeds..all seedlings look great, sturdy, healthy strong plants. They are now ready to start hardening off...good product I would buy again.

I've designed my own starting plan......i use the transplanting mix about 2/3 up the pot that my herbs are going to stay in on the windowsill and then the rest w/ germinating mix.......it's worked fabulous and then i dn't have to tranplant and disterb the little plants later.....thsi has worked for me with my windowsill herbs, but all the others for outside I've also done the same..
Love the self watering soils and baskets also...
