Comments about Garden Clips:

I had heard great things about these clips from other gardeners, so decided to try them. Yes, they are easy to use, and blend with the plants so they are attractive. However, I found that with some plants the clip was still too large (in diameter) to hold stem to stake. The clip would simply slide down the stake. It would be great if these clips had an adjustable setting. Then they just be the perfect thing in the garden...

Comments about Garden Clips:

Rightnow while my tomato plants are small they work great. I am not sure they will work as well when the plants get bigger. I do not think they will fit around both a tomato stake and the plant stalk as the plants grow bigger. You have to use both hands to open them which is little tricky when trying not to damage the plant while installing or removing. It remains to be seen how well they hold up after being exposed the NC sun for several months as they are plastic. It has been my experience that plastic becomes very brittle after prolonged exposure to the NC sunshine.I think it is great concept but needs to be bigger for use with tomatoes which is what I purchased them for, and is how they are portrayed in the photo with the description in the catalog.
I may use them for some climbing plants and go back to tying my tomato plants to the stakes with garden twine.
I gave this product 3 stars because I do not think they work as described in the online catalog

Comments about Garden Clips:

I used clips like these (from another supplier) last year on tomatoes in my new greenhouse, and was so pleased with the ease of use and effectiveness that I ordered more (at a better price) so that I could use them this year on more stuff. They do exactly what they are supposed to do, and they do it easily, and they are reusable. What more could I ask?

Better than cages
By DougVerified Purchaser from Durham, NC on 8/19/2010
Describe Yourself:

Primary use:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Garden Clips:

Tomato cages get in the way and once in place with a plant growing up inside cannot be easily adjusted or moved about to make access to the fruit more convenient.
I've taken to constructing a very simple overhead bar from which strings hang down. These garden clips attach in one motion to the string and snap closed around the branches doing zero damage to the plant. They are easily added to, moved, adjusted or removed as the plant ages. I've also used them on cukes and melons.
Great idea. Thanks GS.

I ordered these to replace the tomato clips I ordered from you last yearwhici were excellent. The ones this year were awful. They are much smaller, not as sturdy, harder to use and are just totally not a good replacement for the ones I received last year. Please go back to the original clips and do away with these flimsy ones.

Comments about Garden Clips:

IF these are used primarily with jute or string as the design dictates, they are outstanding. Folks wouldn't have the problems noted above with their being "too big" or otherwise not the correct size. Don't wrap them around stakes!
We are "stringing up" tomatoes and cukes that we have "caged" in the past and the result is better sunlight and drainage to all the plants resulting in greater yields with no problem about irrigation fungus.
Thanks for these. (Wish I could find them locally....)

Comments about Garden Clips:

This item saves me time binding up my floppy plants and they are strong and I don't have to keep stealing twist ties from the grocery store...:)) I like that they are reusable and I also use them to tie up my house plants that need reshaping. The only suggestion is I would like to have them come in colors instead of just the green. Would make them more visible.

Comments about Garden Clips:

The garden clips are great for my hanging petunia basket, after awhile the tend to droop so I used the clips to make it upright. I clipped the stems to the wire on the basket. I will also use it for my vegetables such as tomatoes and cucumbers to keep them from laying on the ground.

Securing plant stems to stakes
Securing vegetables to stakes
Securing vines to stakes
Can carry several in you pocket
Can do one handed while holding stake and plant
Plant has to have leaves to support holder or it slips to the ground.
Stake size determines if plant can be secured without being crushed. Test before you clip it closed.
