Comments about Earth Staples:
Many good uses in the garden and yard - love it.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Great product & am back to buy more. They last much much longer than my clothes hangers bent into stakes. Deer have gotten the message to come here to eat so I must net everything. These staples keep the netting in place, are easy to see under foliage & last yr after yr. I just wish I ordered more in my first order. The disks work ok too.
Comments about Earth Staples:
These work great holding down the red film I have under my tomato plants.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Come out of ground easily when used with all purpose fabric
Comments about Earth Staples:
this product keeps the plastic cover from tearing.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Unless you have loose, good soil with no rocks, roots, etc., these require a hammer to get flush with ground.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Such a simple product but it had a million uses.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I've used these staples for years. They're a fast and easy way to hold down string when I'm making lines for borders or straight rows in the vegetable garden. They're useful for securing netting or twine to the ground for peas, beans, or climbing vines. I've also used them to hold row cover fabric in place as a barrier for some bugs. They're a very useful thing to have.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I have used this product in the past twice.
It ealy does the job.

Very helpful
Comments about Earth Staples:
Ued them to hold down the fiber edging in our community garden
Comments about Earth Staples:
These are a must have for the tomato towers listed on this site... the towers are so tall that a gust of wind could possibly lift them up. The staples keep the towers in place. I use the staples for the tomato towers and cages. They are sturdy.
Comments about Earth Staples:
These staples were extremely handy when it came down to covering all low ground entry points with our deer barrier. The one thing I was hoping was that it would not bend so easily when it hits a rock. We have a lot of rocks our soil.
Comments about Earth Staples:
After the need to hold the row cover in place has passed, the loop makes it very easy to extract the pins and remove the cover. They do not become loose by themselves and discourage the squirrelw & rabbits.
Comments about Earth Staples:
We often have high winds with storms. I fell confident that this product will keep the worry out of tall growing systems.
Comments about Earth Staples:
These staples were longer than ones available at local home improvement stores and nurseries. I am using them for the bean towers and a cucumber trellis. They have so far held up to a few wind driven thunderstorms.
Comments about Earth Staples:
these are very easy to use and hold well. Bought other ones in a home improvement store in the garden section and they weren't as sturdy as these.
Comments about Earth Staples:
They hold down my plastic securely.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I HAVE BEEN USING THESE FOR 3 YEARS NOW-IDEAL FOR SECURING TOMATO CAGES, FOR DIRECTING HOSES, AND SECURING SPRINKLERS. PREVIOUSLY I HAD BEEN MAKING THEM FROM WIRE COAT HANGERS. THESE ARE STURDY, LONG LASTING AND EFFICIENT
Comments about Earth Staples:
These are superbly sturdy for all vertically grown crops and related towers.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used these to secure my teepee and a light weight bird bath. Very effective

Comments about Earth Staples:
The Earth Staples help hold down our wire recycling bins. The bins have not been moved by the wind, etc.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use these to anchor garden art.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I bought these to use on my bean tower. I have found that these staples are very durable and also give great support to my bean tower. These are a must have if you plant to do vertical gardening.
Comments about Earth Staples:
A Good product for all gardeners
Comments about Earth Staples:
As soon as I plant anything, large or small, hardworking dedicated varmints rush to dig it up again -- but several circles of these staples somehow persuade them that the buried treasure (food) isn't right there under the new flower after all. And if you have a lot on hand, you can always use them as intended by the manufacturer too!
Comments about Earth Staples:
they are easy to use on all types of ground cover
Comments about Earth Staples:
Great for holding extra tall tomato cages.
Comments about Earth Staples:
We had a freak spring cold snap so I covered my vegetables with all purpose row covers and anchored them with these staples. I ran out and got another pack at a local garden store, They were lighter weight, shorter and somewhat flimsier. After just a couple of days the new earth staples were rusted but the Gardener supply ones were not.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Work great to hold down the netting over my new fig tree
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use the extra tall earth staples to secure all my vegetable plant supports. Between the already sturdy supports and the earth staples, they withstood the April 2011 storm season.
Comments about Earth Staples:
We ordered the compost bins that can be attached to make a three-part compost pile. It's neat, attractive, sturdy, and though the box came without the spindles to attach the separate bins, [...]
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used these staples to anchor a plastic chicken wire fence that I put up around some raised beds to keep out the raccoons. They were easy to use and they do the job. the raccoons have been foiled!
Comments about Earth Staples:
I ordered these to go with the extra long earth staples, but they don't fit - they aren't wide enough, so they tore. It didn't matter because the staples work just fine without them.
Comments about Earth Staples:
These earth staples are very substantial. They will do a great job holding down my tarps and row covers throughout the gardening season.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Great for holding down drip lines.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used these to hold down black gardening tarp material that I rolled down under the black raised grow beds Gardener's sell. These were quick and did the trick and seem to be a better price that what I can find in the local big box stores.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Helps to keep down the cover material. These are a nice addition to use with the earth staples.
Comments about Earth Staples:
These hold down the row cover material very well and help keep out critters and insects.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I ordered some of both the short and long earth staples. Neither one bent when I put them in our rocky mountain soil. The long ones were great for holding down the frames for my row covers and to secure fencing around the vegatables.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used these to hold black paper down all winter long in order to keep cats out of a barren garden. Worked grerat!!
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used staples to hold the line in place to mark my garden off, the rubber top hold the knot on top of the staples so it doesn't go down into the dirt
Comments about Earth Staples:
great for staking the reemay but also great for staking home made milk jug cloches.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I have reused these staples for a few years. They last. Other brands rust out and you have to replace every year. I would recommend these.
Comments about Earth Staples:
great for keeping the red tomato mulch in place.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I bought these extra-long staples last summer to anchor my metal supports that I use for growing peas, beans, and tomatoes. They were very effective in stabilizing these supports. I liked these staples so much that I purchased more this year. If your garden is in a windy area you will still need poles as additional insurance.
Comments about Earth Staples:
The plain u staples worked best when holding down plastic mulch/landscapers mulch in your garden with the disk so they don't disappear into softer soil. It's better to keep them flat so you don't trip over them when moving through the garden. They hold the mulch perfectly. No shifting what so ever. Softer sandy soil is another matter.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I find these so usefull. I use for weed barrier.
But they are great to hold down yard art.
I use them on my arbors, and also on my removeable
rabbit feninching. These are long and strong, I have found so many uses for them in the garden.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Holds plant cover staples in the ground and keeps them from tearing holes in cover.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Have not yet put these into use, but what's not to like. Sure they will work well. Have seen others at less money, but they seem flimsey.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Used to anchor plant supports, cold frames, and irrigation systems. Very happy with the product!
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use these stakes to secure garden frost cloths, edges of bird bath stand, many other uses.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Works well to hold the bottom of the fence I put in. Keeps the animals from lifting the bottom up and going into my garden.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I won't know how well this product holds up until I use it for an entire season but for now the earth staples seem sturdy enough for my use. They were not difficult to place with a soft mallot and I have a lot of clay. They will also be useful for anchoring Christmas decorations so they will get year round use.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used to use old hangers but they bent too easily and rusted something awful. These new "earth staples" are a lifesaver.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used to use old hangers but they bent too easily and rusted something awful. These new "earth staples" are a lifesaver.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Very east to use. Holds the row covers down very well. Even in high winds we get,
Comments about Earth Staples:
Use to hold mat around herb garden.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Great staples used with Roc-Kloth.
Comments about Earth Staples:
These earth staples are great for anchoring down landscape cloth or insect barrier cloth to the ground and are much more effective than the rocks I was using (rocks can harbor insects or slugs). They last forever and are very cost effective. Being rust resistant, they shouldn't rust like other stapes I've bought in the past. I bought two sets of the extra tall ones, which are more than enough for my small garden. I can also use them to anchor the drip hoses in the soil.

Comments about Earth Staples:
Bought 1 pack of 10 last year & they worked so well in my sandy soil that I bought 2 more packs this year. Other staples that I've tried just pull away, but these are very long and very heavy duty. I use them to fasten down my bean towers and my pea fence against summer storm winds. I even used them to stabilize outdoor Christmas displays in December. At the end of the season, they were just as good as new and I plan to build up quite a stock of these!
Comments about Earth Staples:
The winds of spring don't abate here in the Rocky Mountains until the snow is off the nearby peaks of the San Juan mountains, and the winds have no respect for row covers, tomato cages, newly potted plants, and almost anything else that bares its face to the incessant flow of fury that seeks to frustrate the gardener. Anything that can hold things in place are a must have!
Comments about Earth Staples:
I have used these staples for the last couple of years in my garden. They are perfect for fastening fabrics such as row cover, as well as heavier materials like plastic mulch. They don't tear the fabric as much as the lighter staples. Neither does the wind rip them up. However, when you want to remove them, they come out with no tugging, no digging or leverage required. I highly recommend them and they are emminently re-useable.
Comments about Earth Staples:
These are terrific for holding down netting or weed fabric so it isn't blown off on a windy day.
Comments about Earth Staples:
The staples were quite short, the plastic would be practically on the ground, very disappointed, the picture appeared they were longer, and logic would assume they were longer.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Glad you had just what I needed.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I recently used them to fasten landscaping fabric on my raised garden beds for the winter (to keep my cats out!). I was able to insert them easily, despite the soil being partially frozen.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I've been using the Earth Staples to hold down plastic in the garden, I also used them to anchor some yard decorations. When I used them all, I looked for something locally, but all I found were anchors that were so flimsy, I decided order more.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I am using them to hold cages around my rhododenruns to keep the deer away
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used them for the rubberized mulch trim and the river stone edging. Works great and keeps things in place!
Comments about Earth Staples:
Being my first year with blankets and stakes I don't know how they hold out regarding rust but I first put them in the ground in September. Some have been removed for the winter and some remain in the ground. None show any indication of rust, discoloration or corrosion of any kind. I use them with the disks. I believe the disks spread the pressure on the various levels of blanket and have not had any tearing. I LOVE the loop at the top. It's easy to grab and pull. Absolutely excellent idea and design.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I loved the fact that there is a loop that makes these easy to pull out. Be careful using your foot pushing them in though...I had one bend on me even though I think they are very sturdy.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I find them a little soft, but they do the job. Perhaps there's a reason they're so soft, but they do hold down the cloth efficiently.
Comments about Earth Staples:
These little paver holders really do thier job nicely.
Comments about Earth Staples:
the staples and rings are grate it holds tarps and tops down without tearing though item
Comments about Earth Staples:
They are easy to use.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use them to hold down plastic mulch tree rings and hold soaker hoses in place.
Comments about Earth Staples:
The staples were shown with the bird netting I purchased first. I tried using bricks but needed so many more than I had. I bought the extra long staples and they install and remove easy to gain access to the strawberry plants.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used the extra long earth staples to lay rubberized mulch walkway between my raised beds for vegetables. They have been doing their job for a whole season. Occasionally I've bonked one back down with a rubber mallet as it worked its way upwards, but only a tiny bit rose.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Used one staple with each tomato tower and even though my plants were over 6 feet tall, the towers did not blow over and very heavy winds and rain.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Last year I bought the regular earth staples at 3 inches to hold down weed barrier and they were great. When I reordered this year, the regular staples are 6 inches and cannot handle the job. They bend out of shape when they go in the ground.
Also the currently sold weed barrier is inferior to the one sold last year. It is wispy thin and difficult to install. Last year's product was superior in every way. Easy to install and did a great job.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I like the easy out staples the best, especially with the bird netting. Use the extra long staples also, because I ordered them first and were very helpful to stake supports.
The easy out with disks have helped protect from tearing the cloth covers.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I get weeds in my landscape from my neighbors' yard. Using landscape fabric and these long staples, I created a barricade along my fence that saved me hours of weeding.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use these to hold down the bird netting that protects my strawberries. The circular top remains visible and doesn't tangle in the netting when I lift a section to harvest the berries.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Purchased to hold down weed mats and they are working nicely.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Very easy to use. Holds my red tomato mulch down. I have lots of tomatoes.
Comments about Earth Staples:
To help hold tomatoes cages in place - worked much better than the regular earth staples
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used the deep earth ground staples for my heavier garden support structures like the tomato towers and the cucumber trellis. Helps to easily anchor the structures without unsightly ropes/twine. I used the regular earth staples for the smaller garden support structures like the veggie cages. Both earth supports are strong and easy to use.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Love shopping here!
Comments about Earth Staples:
Use them to secure tomato cages, trellises or weed covers.
Comments about Earth Staples:
These are also great for stabilizing landscaping lighting cable before using weed block and mulch.Good
Comments about Earth Staples:
These stakes are nice that they go in the ground easily but they also bend rather easily and don't straighten out nicely afterwards.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Holds down weed mats & is easy to remove to use over & over.
Comments about Earth Staples:
We use the extra-long staples in our windy vegetable garden to hold down weed block fabric. The staples go far enough into the clay ground to hold the fabric securely.
These staples bend in clay that hasn't been worked or tilled.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I won't need these until next year but I was happy to recieve the shipment promptly and in good shape. The products were exactly as depicted in the catalog.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Used the staples to hold down 4' tomato cages when my plants grew to 8', as well as reinforcing the trellis for my cucumbers.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Installed easily and look to be effective.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used the staples to hold down the strip of mulch, they are doing their job. We have had high winds recently and the mulch stayed in place.
Comments about Earth Staples:
USED TO HOLD DOWN DEER FENCE.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Used to secure ground cover fabrics to control weeds and make area to set large containers where grass or weeds are not right up against containers. Also used to secure shepherd hook that has 4 legs. It was secured to the ground rather than making bolt holes in the patio.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I live in Hurricane zone and had hoped they had something that secured the unit more.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Hold weed fabric down to ground.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Used it to put mulch down, fiber mulch,so it would stay put.
Comments about Earth Staples:
as a hold down for a multitude of things
Comments about Earth Staples:
These earth staples are excellent! They last for years and are really easy to use.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I have created a small 9'x3' veg bed. Slugs, snails and flying insects are all BIG problems. Covering the bed and edging it 3" deep on all sides seems to be working quite well. About every foot in goes one of your staples. The cover is holding well in wind and rain and the vegs are popping up!!
Comments about Earth Staples:
Disks were bigger than I thought they would be. I thought the disks came with pins but did not; advertising of product not clear and confusing. I did like the disks because they make it easier to locate the pins.
Comments about Earth Staples:
work good
Comments about Earth Staples:
Use these to hold down the cucumber trellis, and red plastic "mulch" used under tomato plants.
Comments about Earth Staples:
i like the round disk that prevents it from tearing through fabric and makes it easy to remove.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used the 10" extra tall earth staples to secure an armillary in my front garden. My husband drilled small holes in the feet of the armillary to accomodate the insertion of the staples. The armillary now stands without being blown over in strong winds and has a little extra securiy against theft.
Comments about Earth Staples:
We use garden cloth and staples under mulch for paths around my yard. It is very effective.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I have sandy loose soil and these hold much better than the shorter staples
Comments about Earth Staples:
I simply LOVE these little things. I have some strawberry plants which I've just started I and didn't want the birds to eat them so I took a milk crate and placed it over the strawberry plant and secured the crate with the staples. So easy to pull out and reuse! I'm sure I'll find LOTS more great uses for these staples. They're a must have for any gardener.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I gave these as a gift to a gardening friend who was having trouble taming ivy in her yard, and she loves them! They are strong enough to keep the ivy where she wants it and easy to move around as the ivy "learns" where it's supposed to be!! Also, unobtrusive, so you see the yard and garden, not the hardware!
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use these to anchor the wire fencing around my vegetable garden--keeps the rabbits from sneaking in underneath.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used the shorter staples and the earth disks to hold down row cover; I used the longer earth staples to anchor tomato cages. They do what they are made to do. The only reason I marked a 4 instead of a 5 is that they seem a little on the pricey side; on the other hand, they seem like they should last a long time, so if you pro-rate the cost compared to having to re-order a bunch of flimsier ones, I have to say you get what you pay for.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Used them to hold down landscaping cloth in my garden-works great!!
Comments about Earth Staples:
Very effective in stabilizing the weight of a fruiting tomato plant
Comments about Earth Staples:
Attach netting around blueberry bushes to the ground to keep birds out of bushes
Comments about Earth Staples:
Easy to use and remove quickly!
Comments about Earth Staples:
I actually found that I didn't need them as laying a piece of rebar or pipe along the edges of my garden fabric worked faster, simpler and easier
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used it to hold down the bottom of your plastic fencing
Comments about Earth Staples:
After using all around the cloth covered areas of the garden I found rocks easier to move away and just as effective for keeping cloth in place
Comments about Earth Staples:
Easy to use.
Comments about Earth Staples:
The size is great!!!!! and the staples are very strong......
Comments about Earth Staples:
Used with plastic fence. Keeps my pepper robbers (My two Huskies) from my garden.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I bought the disks and staples. I don't often remove garden cloth. After the area is established the staples can be easily removed from the garden cloth using the disks and reused elsewhere. Very handy to have around. I know they will be useful for other than their intended use.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I planted some new shrubs and ornamentals this summer and used the staples to secure my soaker hoses around the new plants. Very efficient; they keep my plants from drying out and save water. I would definitely purchase this product again. I also purchased my soaker hoses from GSC as well.
Comments about Earth Staples:
These are nice and long, not about to 'pop' out easily
Comments about Earth Staples:
stakes are a must with the frost proof cloth. We put cloth over a frame and attached it with these stakes and also up them in ground for stability of frame. Held up in high winds way up in Mountains!
Comments about Earth Staples:
Earth staples are very helpful in securing weed blocking material or mulch mats. It adds a safety feature by securing material that can easily roll and become a hazard. I always keep a supply on hand as they come in handy for a number of garden uses
Comments about Earth Staples:
I am using the extra long stakes to hold my extra tall bean towers in place. So far even in high winds they have held. We'll see how they do now that the plants have reached the top of the tower.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Product provides for secure tie down of heavier cages and towers. Invaluable to those who live in windy areas.
Comments about Earth Staples:
They only last for 1 season, as expected
Comments about Earth Staples:
The long staples hold the double tomatoe cages in sandy soil easily.
Comments about Earth Staples:
perfectly fine stakes - using to hold the wire "tunnels" in the kids' gardens - but after ordering found basically the same thing at [...]for less.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I have used these staples for holding down plastic mulch and routing hoses through my lawn and garden. Perfect for both.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I love the extra-tall earth staples. I have used them to keep weed block fabric and flat border edging in place.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use them to hold down landscape frabric between my veggies in my garden. Then I don't have as many weeds.
Comments about Earth Staples:
The staples don't fit that well through the holes of the composter I bought, though I was told to use them to secure it to the ground. They were hard to put through the holes on an angle and some of them bent. But I guess they are holding OK. I would recommend but not glowingly. Wish there was something more specifically made for this use.
Comments about Earth Staples:
This product has so many uses. I have used to keep animal pests from my garden, by anchoring my net fencing along the bottom. These staples are handy to keep small irrigation hosing in place in flower beds. I have used it to anchor tarps for cover on the ground. I am sure I will find many more uses as I work in my yard and garden.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use these to hold down the medium expandable willow trellis that kept going over with the wind. They work.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used to use rocks for holding down garden horses, but not any more. The Staples are very sturdy and long enough for stay.
Comments about Earth Staples:
WORKS GREAT TO ANCHOR TOMATO CAGES AND MY WIRE FENCING AS WELL AS KEEPING THE SOAKER HOSE IN PLACE!
Comments about Earth Staples:
Suggested in your catlog to help secure/anchor the towers, but they came with no instructions how to use them, if the postage wasn't so expensive, I would have returned them.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Use them w/ my weed mats to hold down.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Keeping the floating row cover on my plants has never been easier. the combination of the staple and disc is keeping the covers secure and haven't torn the fabric. Really pleased with my purchase
Comments about Earth Staples:
I love these 10" staples! I have used them to secure tall gazing ball stands to prevent them from tipping and you hardly see them once they are in the ground. I have also used them to secure poultry netting to the ground around our chainlink fence to keep rabbits from coming under the fence-works great!! I just wish they would be manufactured in the USA!!
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use them to hold down the chicken wire cages, to keep the rabbits and squirels away!!!
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use them to keep strings in place for my peas and beans. I use them to tack down my winter protective covers which allows me to garden right through December.
Comments about Earth Staples:
great for holding down landscape fabric.
Comments about Earth Staples:
They seem to be holding down my rubber mulch well as long as there are an adequate number placed, particularly around curves. The lawn mover can then ride over them without movement.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Used last year with tall tomato towers, however towers have such long spikes they hold well (even in heavy wind), without staples. Purchased more this year to use in anchoring a metal outdoor puppy pen, as these staples are much better than the ones that came with puppy pen.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Just what I needed to maintain the curvaturaes in the rubber mat for lawn & garden edgeing.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Perfect for holding row covers and drip hoses in place
Comments about Earth Staples:
They are sturdy and hold up to being stepped on. However, the one improvement would be that they were sharp points on the end to get into heavy soil easier.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Works great for holding down matting in the garden. very easy to push-in and if nessary to pull out to be set and used somewhere else.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use these to hold down fabric row covers (tunnels) - they work well.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I am using the earth staples with the earth disks to hold down weed cloth between two raised beds. They are holding beautifully, the weed cloth hasn't come loose and I haven't tripped over it. I think that's as good as it gets.
Comments about Earth Staples:
These work as intended.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Heavy duty, hard to bend, long enough to keep wire cages securely pinned to the ground. I'm so glad I bought these!
Comments about Earth Staples:
Easy-out staples are the best. I use them with row covers to extend my gardening season. I already have flowers on my pepper!

Comments about Earth Staples:
Works great to hold down many things in the garden - soaker hose, weed control mats, newspapers, etc.

Comments about Earth Staples:
These are a great anchor, the extra tall is my preference .
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use them to hold down my red mulch that I use for my tomatoes
Comments about Earth Staples:
The Easy out Earth Stplae combined with the disk is a wonderful way to hold down netting over strawberries and remay over my currants. The disk prevents tearing of the remay at the ground.
Comments about Earth Staples:
They keep the remay from tearing in the wind
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used the earth disks in conjunction with the earth staples to hold down the landscaper's fabric I placed along the walkways in our garden. Thus far, the disks are working and prevent the fabric from tearing.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use them for holding netting over my strawberries and remay cloth over currants. They hold well and are easy to put in and take out.
They don't leave a very big hole which is nice too.

Comments about Earth Staples:
Staples work well, holds down landscape fabric even in Kansas winds
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used these to stabilize my 4 sided trellis after I kept finding my clematis laying on it's side and crushing all the lilies under it. I tried various remedies but these were the best and even held up in a horrific thunderstorm with awful winds. I Love them!
Comments about Earth Staples:
These 10" staples work great to hold down soaker hoses in the garden.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I bought the earth staples to hold down strips of rubber mulch around new beds. Later, when I build still more beds, I was delighted to find something similar locally. The ones I bought at Gardener's Supply were sturdier. Those I bought locally rusted before I finished installing the rubber mulch. Both worked, but the first are better quality and will obviously last longer.
Comments about Earth Staples:
These are very easy to use and very effective.
Comments about Earth Staples:
We have sandy soil so the stakes go in very easy. Hold down plastic mulch in the wind. Also use the long stakes to anchor our tomato cages.
Comments about Earth Staples:
The Earth Staples hold mulch and border materials in place and require no maintaince or work at all, They are great for my use!!
Comments about Earth Staples:
can be easily removed
Comments about Earth Staples:
Keeps down covers from wind and growth
Comments about Earth Staples:
These staples cost considerably more but won't rust like others on the market which makes the staple near useless for using over once rust sets in. This makes them ideal for using over and over; as well they can be easily disinfected. Used mostly for securing weed block/plants around garden, trees, and shrubs.
Comments about Earth Staples:
The Easy-out staples are great for holding garden plant cages & grids in place. No more digging to pull them back out to relocate or at the end of the season!
Comments about Earth Staples:
Invaluable for holding down garden mats and securing tomato cages.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Ordered the Extra-Tall Earth Staples for our Tomato Towers, and they worked so well, I also used them to secure an obelisk tower in our perennial beds. The staples did well in anchoring the obelisk and towers in 30-35 mph wind gusts!
Comments about Earth Staples:
Used with tomato towers. They held securely through 2 storms, so far.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I needed these for use in my raised bed. The dirt in the raised bed was soft but below it was a little harder. I noticed as I tried to pound the stakes in with a rubber mallet they bent. I ended up cutting the ends off to make them shorter.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use the ground staples primarily to secure fabric cloth, which we use under small sized stones (pathways/foundation/drainage areas).
I also use the staples to secure soaker hoses in my raised beds.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I've use these with my frost blanket, and to secure a wire fence around my garden. They are fantastic!
Comments about Earth Staples:
Easy to use and gives that extra stability where needed.

I used the staples to hold down tomato cages, to hold the cover over my little green house and presently they are holding in place my lawn edging that I did not get dug into the ground quite far enough. They are very helpful.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used them to hold down the cat scats and when we had flash flooding they did not move.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used these to help anchor the bean towers. We have a lot of wind in our area and these made me feel more confident that they will not blow over in a storm. They could be a little heavier to make it a little easier to pound in without bending.
Comments about Earth Staples:
These are sturdy clips that are well made and easy to apply, not flimsy and subject to bending.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Used these recently to keep deer fencing in place around two young oak trees that my children received last year for their Kindergarten graduation. The deer fencing had blown over repeatedly due to all of the storms this spring and the young trees got chomped by our resident deer population. Thanks to these stakes the fencing has remained in place and the trees have grown new leaves!
Comments about Earth Staples:
Use the rubber gaskets for best performance.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Also bought the willow trellis, and am using the staples to keep it steady.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used 2 of them to secure the cucumber trellis in my raised bed garden. I have arthritis so I thought easy out loop would eventually help me.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used these staples to secure bird netting over my strawberry plants, and to also hold my ground cover to control weeds. It was also possible and easy to remove to gain access to my plants and replace after harvest.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used Earth Staples to secure an inexpensive soaker hose in my flower bed. The hose curled, and would not lay flat or stay in place no matter how hard I tried. Earth Staples to the rescue, along with Earth Disks, and now the soaker is permanently, unobtrusively placed to maximize the use of water.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I'm using it to hold down the willow teepee which will have Morning Glories climbing through it.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Helps to keep the ground cover down in the wind.

Comments about Earth Staples:
The easy out earth staples are easy to work with. There are a few applications I should have used the regular earth staples so that they are flush with the ground, but these work real well for the projects I am working on.
Comments about Earth Staples:
The staples were sturdy and long enough to hold down the red plastic mulch even with a strong wind blowing. In addition, they were easy to push through the plastic mulch because of the pointed ends.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Holds the weed mat securely.
Comments about Earth Staples:
So easy to use with a weed block, and can find them again at the end of the season.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I like the staples with the rings because they are
easier to find and pull out
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used these to secure our garden irrigation system to keep the hose under the mulch. Works perfectly and as expected.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I bought these to hold down the willow trellis and they were easy to use and effective.
Comments about Earth Staples:
These hold the grid in the soil very well.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I also use the metal holders to secure my "soaker hoses" in my raised beds. Works very well.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Used to hold down nylon mech to deer proof bushes over winter. Easilly applied and removed.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use these staples for a lot of different things, holding hoses down, anchoring my vegie supports, etc.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Easy to apply and remove. Buy earth disks to go along with this.
Comments about Earth Staples:
The staples work well keeping the red mulch film in place around my tomato plants
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use these to hold down my willow trellis and weed mats. They work very well. I do not use them in my vegetable beds, as I dislike putting metal next to my food plants.
Comments about Earth Staples:
a simple solution to anchoring row cover. It does make holes in the fabric, so care must be taken to re-use the holes made by the first "stapling"
Comments about Earth Staples:
So far, no ground hogs or rabbits have slipped under my fence stapled down with this product.
Comments about Earth Staples:
NOT ONLY GOOD FOR LAND SCAPEFABRIC , BUT GOOD FOR HOLDING DOWN HARDWARE CLOTH.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Used these to hold down the Eco-composter & rodent screen. The 3 products work great together. The pins hold excellently.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used these earth staples to secure a fence purchased from the same catalog. These staples were very heavy duty and exactly what I needed. They were easy to push into the ground and secured the fence I had just put up around my garden. My black lab dog tried to get under the fence and she finally gave up because these things do not move!
Comments about Earth Staples:
earth staples are very sturdy think they will last a long time

Comments about Earth Staples:
Easy to insert but a little difficult to remove unless you use the ring top type or the ones with the grommet.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use the tall staples to anchor irrigation lines and to hold down wire cages in my windy SC coastal garden, as well as an easy anchor for bird netting over my blueberry plants.
Comments about Earth Staples:
These were great for holding down the rubber mulch but didn't take away from the look of the mulch.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Saves money...You don't have to keep on buying them year after year. They are small but do a big job!

Comments about Earth Staples:
The earth staples are made of high quality steel, easy to push into garden to hold down ANYTHING ... trellis, ground covers, you name it ... great quality at a great price. Very happy with purchase.
If you buy them, buy the disks also ... a must.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I really like these staples. Like everything else these days, they seem expensive, but I do like them and I love the ease with which they come out and can be reused.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Works great to hold the rubber mats.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Granted I've now used only the easy-out staples, but their ease of use makes them seem well worth the additional marginal cost over the regular earth staples. Just in case it's not to clear to someone else, the earth disks do not come with the 'Easy-Out Earth Staples' (guess the picture on the left threw me off, plus I didn't read the item description closely). I'd recommend purchasing the earth disks as well though, they really help to hold plastic mulches in place.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Worked well with the Recycled Rubber Walkway that I purchased. easy to remove and move if needed.
Comments about Earth Staples:
These really work, best I've ever used
Comments about Earth Staples:
I got these to go into tight spots cause they will be easy to pull out and reposition. Use other staples and discs to hold down newspapers, rubber walkway and your Proffessional Weed Mat. Am so happy I found your company cause it gave me lots of ideas and products I had never seen!
Comments about Earth Staples:
They are great for securing soaker hoses to the ground. The garden area in which I use them get nicely watered. They are also great for use in securing garden border fences. They keep the fences securely in place.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Recycled rubber mats are secure with these staples.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use these in the fall when I put chicken wire around newly planted cuttings/trees/shrubs. They stick in the ground and stay put so the rabbits and deer don't eat the new plantings.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use to hold down the cover for my raised beds.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I love this product, it keeps the plactic or cloth from tearing larger from the holes the staples make. Easier to pull out too.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Used to hold down my Tomato Cages and my garden hose.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Anchor for trellis and ladders/top heavy plants
Comments about Earth Staples:
The Extra Tall Earth Staples are well made and easy to use.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Great for securing veggie cages and the wire compost bin. I used the Extra Tall for the compost bin and the Easy Out for the veggie and tomato cages. Very satisfied with this inexpensive purchase.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I have only used two at this time and they both seemed to work well.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used these to keep our drip lines under the mulch in our natural area.
Comments about Earth Staples:
great for holding soaker hoses in place.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I wanted to cover a weedy bed with black plastic to kill the weeds before I planted. These Earth Staples made the job go quickly. The plastic is secure even in strong winds.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use the Easy Out Earth Staples to hold down the irrigation drip tape on my eleven, 180' blueberry bush rows. They are larger and more sturdy than expected and very easy to use.
Comments about Earth Staples:
We put the reusable matts down between the rows of veggies - the staples hold them in place. Some of the matts we've used for specific things for serveral years (e.g., inbetween rows of peas with holes to plant broccoli or cabbage that does better in the shade once the peas are established.
Comments about Earth Staples:
The perfect way to keep mats in place.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Great parduct, uswed to hold net in place over water garden during the winter. Easy to use. Also used to hold tomato cages in place over summer.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use these staples for so many things . . . even to anchor an unruly trellis. They are versatile and tough.

Comments about Earth Staples:
I use children wire around my roses and other bushes to protect them from rabbits. The earth staples hold the wire to the ground so that the rabbits can't sneak under
Comments about Earth Staples:
I have been using these staples for years. In New York I used them for landscape fabric but in AZ it is too windy so I found other uses. I use them to hold my drip system in place, keep plants in place, use them as markers because of the wind and many other uses.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I live where the wind blows, the Santa Ana's, and these staples really work.
Comments about Earth Staples:
The catalog doesn't say what the earth discs are made from (I wish it did) - it looks like recycled rubber. If you are putting landscape fabric in an area where it will be walked or driven on or equipment will be moved over it, these will reinforce the staples and keep the fabric from tearing. And as the catalog says, they make it easy to pull staples out without damaging landscape fabric. I have not seen them for sale anywhere else. Have been using them for several years. They are a functional and useful product with a moderate cost.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I use these in combination with Earth Staples and weed block fabric on paths in my gardens. I believe they hold better that the staples alone and, after a year in use, have not loosened at all. I can get the staples locally but continue to buy the discs from this great company.
Comments about Earth Staples:
My soil is heavy clay with lots of pebbles and cobbles. The staples I received looked to be made from aluminum or some soft recycled metal. They bent double at the first whack of my hammer. Have no idea why these are described as "heavy duty". If you have a loamy or sandy soil with no rocks these will work just fine, but I would recommend these only if the soil conditions were other than clay and rocks. (I have to buy 6 inch steel staples, which can be pounded in the ground with no problem.) In my opinion Gardener's Supply should put a caution statement in the catalog to advise customers where these may not be usable - it cost me $15 to return my packages for credit.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Used staples to hold plastic prongs in place to deter my cats from digging in my house plants.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used these in largest planter and have had no problem with cats defecating in soil. Cat alarms, tape, drip trays etc. had not been successful in keeping them out of soil.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Being used to stabilize an inground planter pole that also has and augar base with ontop of ground arms that the stakes can hold tight to the ground.
Comments about Earth Staples:
The product is fine. I purchased a similar product, but the pins were made in the USA. Was expecting the same online.
Comments about Earth Staples:
The staples will be used to hold red mulch paper around tomatoe plants.
Comments about Earth Staples:
It's hard to say anything bad about yard staples. I have ordered many items from Gardener's Supply in the past & have always been pleased with service & quality of product. I will continue to be a customer of Gardener's Supply
Comments about Earth Staples:
I have bought over the counter staples but they are difficult to locate when you want to remove them and they rust a lot over one season of gardening. The Earth Staples with the loop on top are easy to find to remove and they are not very rusty at the end of a season.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I love the easy-out staples. They hold the ground cover in place securely and are easy to spot and remove at the end of the season. I won't use any other ground staples.
Comments about Earth Staples:
So easy to use when installing protective cloth to your garden and easy to remove. Wish I had ordered more.
Comments about Earth Staples:
These Earth Staples are a must have in the garden! I use them with the fabric covering my "just sprouting" plants to keep the bugs and beasties off them. Also for plant ID. Take the info off the seed packet and spear it next to the planting. Truly very useful and a multi use item!
Comments about Earth Staples:
We're on our second year of a raised-bad garden 4x48, and these anchor the landscape cloth, and the row-cover very well. With the spring winds in Texas, anchoring is important!
Comments about Earth Staples:
This works well with staples to secure plastic or landscaping fabric. It keeps the fabric from tearing and can be reused over and over. Mine have lasted for years.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used these to anchor the garden grids- they worked great. I'm sure I will find other uses for them in the garden also, like stabilizing arbors and trellises.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used the earth staples to hold down a row cover under my low tunnel. They are very sturdy and long enough to go deep into the soil. I know they will last a long time.!
Comments about Earth Staples:
Great for plastic or fabric row covers.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I always took these Earth Staples for granted until I tried a cheaper version from a major home store chain. Compared to the Earth Staples, the others were flimsy--they bent easily if they came in contact with a rock when I was putting them into the ground. The only downside of the Earth Staples is that they're silver, so they're noticeable against the brown rubber edging. But I've found that if I color the tops with a brown permanent marker after I hammer them in, they blend in very well.
Comments about Earth Staples:
These Easy Out Earth Staples worked well, lasted more than 1 season (other staples that I bought at a hardware store rusted after 1 season and had to be thrown away). I used these along with the Earth Disks which made them very easy to pull out. Earth disks may have also helped to keep the Weed Mat from fraying.
Comments about Earth Staples:
These work very well with the composting bins that they sell. They keep them in place. I would highly recommend to use.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Very handy for holding down garden covers and anything else
Comments about Earth Staples:
These are so much better than the ground staples my neighbor picked up at the local big box hardware. They go into the ground easily (as long as I miss the rocks in the bed), even tolerate hammering in. I'm pleased.
Comments about Earth Staples:
The photos and the description are misleading. It appeared to me that the discs came with the medium length staples, so I did not order the staples separately. So now I have the discs but no way to use them.
Comments about Earth Staples:
When mulching mums for the winter, I cover them with leaves then yard cloth. I used the stakes, rather than lugging the bricks as I have in the past, to secure the cloth. They held well in 30 mph winds.
Comments about Earth Staples:
We use this product to keep our ground covers down. We also use to keep our watering lines down in our raised beds. The only complaint we have is it rusts out after a couple of years.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Very useful item for many different uses.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Used to secure mulch sheets to ground.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Used these to hold down landscaping fabric. They were easy to insert and I like having the loop at the top so they can easily be removed/moved.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Useful for weed reduction in walkways between raised beds in the garden.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Very easy to use
Comments about Earth Staples:
I am a salvage gardener and I use these for everything from stabilizing small trellises to securing metal garden art.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Well made. Should last a while.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Easy to use to anchor wire compost bin
Comments about Earth Staples:
Using earth staples and eath disks made it fairly easy to pull out after cleanup.
Comments about Earth Staples:
I used this product to reinforce the bean towers I purchased form Gardeners Supply. I also used these staples to put down landscaping fabric. Very effective.
Comments about Earth Staples:
Staples are useful for holding garden supports in the ground.
Comments about Earth Staples:
We are using these to hold down landscape cloth where we walk a lot. These are so long that we will probably never be able to remove them. (Slight exaggeration, but not by much.)
