These lightweight, flexible hoops provide a quick framework to support garden fabric, insect or shade netting to protect your plants. Smooth fiberglass won’t snag fabric. Placed over a 3' row or raised bed, the 59" long hoops provide 16" of headroom for plants.

I have found that if the space between the two ends is less than 2 1/2' the rods snap with changes in temp. I lost about 60% within two weeks.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
We're trying a parthenogenic approach to keeping squash borer away from our zucchini. These lightweight hoops are just right for our raised-bed garden, and we're hoping hard for a good zucchini crop this season. We'll also be using the poles for weather shielding early next spring--get a good start on early spring crops.

8 of 12 snapped within 36 hours of set-up. It was a brutally hot day -- but the whole idea of them is to support row covers to shield cole crops from hot sun. Will not buy these again.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
Hoops are ready to use to keep row covers or shade cloth in place and off young plants.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I got a set of these for my 3 X 1.5 ft raised lettuce beds. They seemed flexible enough so I tried to use them in the 1.5 ft direction and three of them broke in half and shattered in less than six hours. I now have them arranged in the 3 ft direction and have not had any more casualties. They do wobble back and forth especially once the shade net is clipped to them and the wind is blowing so it has taken some toying with to get them to stay upright and not all falling toward the center. Not as good as I had hoped they would be but hopefully, they will do the job.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I purchased a set of these to use as row covers. They seemed like a great idea - you can store them flat and use them as hoops when needed. The problem: When I inserted them in the ground to make what I thought a nice hoop, 1 of the 3 snapped. I replaced the 1. The next day 3 of the 3 had snapped. I replaced them again and while I was in the garden working I heard another one snap. Now that I read the reviews I discover that you need to insert them at least 2 feet apart, but this makes for a pretty low to the ground hoop.[...] I will definitely continue to shop with Gardeners Supply Company but I won't purchase the hoops again.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
Over half of the hoops have broken in half. Tried different techniques to prevent breakage but nothing seems to work.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I use these in my garden boxes and they make a perfect frame for frost covers to get an early start. They are easy to remove and store
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I ordered this for a quick way to keep my row cover off my seedlings. I had it installed with the row cover on and weighted down in less than 5 minutes! All you do is stick each end of the hoop in the ground at an angle. Can't get any easier than that.

I use these hoops to hold my netting above my strawberries to keep the birds out.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I love these !! They hold up my row covers beautifully which allows me to get a head start on vegetable gardening. They are flexible, strong and do a great job. I ordered a second set to use with my straw bales garden which is my experiment this season, growing potatoes in the wheat straw bales!

Got some chickens to keep the bugs out of the garden.. they like eating the little plants however. These will be perfect for the row cover I have to keep my seedlings safe!

We use these hoops to hold frostproof fabric and they are just what we need sometimes here in Central Florida

Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
These arrived just before an early frigid spell so I used them as season extenders for chard and spinach. Very easy to set up in raised beds. I had expected to have to insert them in PVC pipe but did not need to. Used clothespins to secure fabric to the hoops and that withstood some gusty winds. Bought these primarily to protect winter squash from squash vine borers but can't comment on success there til next summer!
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
It works. No frost damage to small citrus so far.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
A little longer would be even better
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I was so excited when this product became available. I had imagined using the flexible poles from my tent. I use these primarily as protection from my free range chickens. I can easily put chicken wire on top of them. Or garden fabric. I just wish more lengths were available.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
These are EASY to use, and are doing the job to hold the quilt fabric off the plants in my garden. I wish they were a bit longer to accommodate higher plants; but. overall they are good. Very easy to use and move around as needed. I would definitely buy these again.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
Easy to use. i wish they were a little longer for taller plants
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
These are easy to set up for a small greenhouse effect for light frost. Also stakes for plants!
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
Exactly what I needed to cover my fall crops that I hope to continue eating into winter. Flexible and easy to position but sturdy enough to hold the cover.

Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I thought this would be great for my row covers, and they went in easily, but two days later two of the hoops, out of four I was using, broke in the center. Very disappointing. I'm wondering if they'll all eventually break.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I used them to create quick and easy shade to keep my lettuce cool.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I love these fiberglass hoops, and this was a second order for me, as I can just picture this being very useful whether used to hold up insect barrier, bird netting or polyfilm to create a tunnel for season extension.
I have tested this out and with their strength and flexibility, these hoops are allowing me to create a cold frame with a series of hoops placed lower holding up polyspun fabric, and a second higher layer over that of Tufflite IV plastic film. I am trying a smaller version of the season extenders used by Eliot Coleman.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I purchased three sets of these to use with my various 3' deep raised veggie beds, and they arrived just in time for a near 100° heat wave. Paired with shade fabric, my garden breezed through with little to no effort on my part and nary a wilted plant in sight.
Installation/removal is a snap (just slip into place / pull out), and the green color blends without being hard to find.
To reach perfection, it would be nice if there were slightly longer version of these - my bushier veggies were just that little bit taller than the hoop height. They didn't seem to mind a couple of cramped days, but it might be an issue with longer spells under fabric.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I use these hoops to cover and protect Fall crops. They are easy to set up.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
In order to cover a crop of beans at full height, these need to be longer. I'll try to double them up and let you know how it works. Second crop covering is essential here in VT!!!
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
Love these hoops, as I can use them with all kinds of cloths to cover rows from insects, birds or frost. However, my raised beds are 8' x 4', so they don't reach across as well as if they were longer. Will store easily, as they spring back into a straight rod when released from the ground.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
This is an inexpensive way to get into the garden a couple of weeks earlier and stretch the growing season for a few more weeks in the fall. Perfect to use with a raised bed garden.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I used them both in my grow boxes and in the garden to support summer weight blankets. Seedlings had a chance to grow without being munched by bugs and rabbits.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I ordered these fiberglass hoops to use as a rabbit deterrent along with netting. They work well and are easy to install.

USING IN MY BEDS TO ADD PEST SCREENING
HOWEVER, COULD USE LONGER ONES, RIGHT NOW I IMPROVISE BY INSTALLING POLES TO GET MORE HEIGHT
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I bought these to go with the shade netting. They work great! The perfect size for my 3 1/2 ft wide raised beds.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
The hoops are very stiff and much more difficult to bend than the aluminum ones I own. I will probably use them as tall poles for beans, peas, etc.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I would have liked them to be a little longer, but I made them work for me
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
This produce saved my lettuce garden from certain destruction in the strong 90 plus heat wave of late June/early July in NY.
The only con I have is bees and other insects get caught in the netting so be careful when harvesting. When used along with the hoops and the clothes pins - these were attractive, and productive. Would hightly recommend.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
Supposedly made for the 3ft grow beds, but by the time you bend them in place, there's not enough height left to be of much use. Also, they don't stay in place well.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
The fiberglass hoops combined with inexpensive netting saved my kale plants from those miserable worms that had infested previous plantings. Many thanks for this great product. Helen P.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
The fiberglass hoops work very well in my raised beds....as long as they aren't bent too tightly. A tight bend will have them snap. A light bend...and they will do an excellent job holding up garden fabric which keeps out most bugs.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I have several uses for this product. [...] I am using them for insect pest control on my vegetables by covering the hoops with floating row cover and clipping the cover with clothes pins. These hoops also serve to keep the deer and bunnies from eating my vegetables when I cover them with the row cover.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
For years, I had been making my own hoops with straightened coat hangers and duct tape. These fiberglass hoops are the perfect size, and so much neater and easier to use. Now my garden really looks professional!
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I wish they were a little longer so they would create a slightly larger or higher canopy. But I staggered them to make the canopy deeper front to back, I just couldn't make it a little higher. Regardless, it does a great job with the shade net of protecting my lettuce from the harsh rays of summer. If you check the weather in Virginia for June into July of 2010 you will see constant temperatures above 90 and into 100+ on some days. The lettuce keeps growing even though it looks wilted or frail but it keeps going none the less. We just clipped some of the leaves for a salad tonight and after washing and rinsing you would never know how limp they looked just an hour before. The salad was great and without the supports and shade net we wouldn't have our own lettuce for dinner. I would recommend this product to others without hesitation.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
Can be used with all weights of remay and shade cloth. Easy to store and I need more!!
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I was expecting something more sturdier, but they work nonetheless. My raised garden bed is 4ft wide, so to make them work, I tied the ends to some garden stakes, otherwise they wouldn't have been tall enough. I couldn't find any other product like this for the price, so they are a good deal.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
The two ends of these hoops should not be placed any closer than 2 feet apart. If you bend them any tighter, you will find them broken on your next visit to the garden.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
These work as advertised: they don't snag the fabric I use to shade my lettuce, nor the netting over my strawberries; they were easy to set in place; and they are lightweight yet sturdy. I'm very happy that I ordered two sets.

Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
Love these, I can put them in or take them down with ease, then drape whatever you need over them ie: Nets or Cloths to protect from Sun or Pests.
I have a self made raised box that is a bit longer and wider that most and it still worked great.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
The lettuce, spinach and other greens are quick to bolt when the weather goes from winter to summer seemingly overnight here in the south. I purchased these, along with the shade cover to help expand the season.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I need to cover my crops because the deer eat too much and the cats don't use good judgement regarding where to [*]. These hoops give me the option to cover with heavyweight frost cloth and lightweight summer cloth.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I use these to keep my dogs from diggning, running through, or lying in my planter areas. They almost disappear!
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
These fiberglass hoops have come in real handy this year with the temps going up and down so drastically here in the northeast. I wasn't sure they would stay neatly in the raised bed but they went side to side and I could also shorten them up over particular plants.

Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I have used these in my raised flower beds. I would like them better if there was a place to insert them in the sides of the beds. Because there is considerable tension on the hoops, they tend to draw in and disrupt plantings. Also when used to support a cover in high wind, they tend to tilt one way or the other. I wish they were not made in China, so that I could use them in vegetable beds.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
Very easy to use for draping netting or cloth in the garden. Don't know about durability yet. Need a longer size to use for the blueberries!
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I love the fiberglass hoops. They are great for using the row cover material to cover my plants. I have never had it so easy to cover my spring plantings. The hoops bend really easy and are sturdy enough to poke in the ground so they don't fall over. Thanks for this product.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
One of them broke into when I made a small arch. But, I love the way it keeps the garden cloth off. I have able to extend my lettuce a couple of weeks so far and I live in Florida where it already getting hot.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
Living on the eastern plains of Colorado, its never a sure bet that the weather will be warm and dry enough for planting when I want it to be. We've had hail, wind, snow and rain in the past 6 days, so these hoops are wonderful to use to support floating row cover or in my case, garden quilt to keep my garden plants free from wind damage and from frost. Buy these, you'll find a reason to use them.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I love these - I just ordered 2 more sets. I use clothespins to attach my fabric to them. It makes setting up row covers a breeze.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
These are great for those who want to spend more time in the garden. Any gardener could extend their "season" with some more accessories. I should have bought these a long time ago.
Comments about 59" Fiberglass Hoops, Set of 12:
I've put these over my 3x3 beds to cover my crops and they work wonderfully. Also used them on my 3-tiered strawberry planter, so to put cloth to keep out birds!
