Easy to set up andtake down. Stores easily. Keeps the rabbits out, too.
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
It was actually much bigger than I thought it was going to be SHould have ordered the smaller size.
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
The frost pop-up net is easy to secure over my garden. I've used it several times already this season. It's saved my plants on numerous occasions. It folds up and doesn't take very much room at all during storage. Great product!
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
Flimsy, doesn't stay up. A waste of money!!!
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
what a joke. I have 4 of the 3' by 3' raised beds and have both the small and large netted covers that fit perfectly. I get this thing and it should read 2' 11" by 2' 11". It doesn't fit over the 3' by 3' beds. Then how in the world do you fold it back up again to get in that tiny box to send it back? It is probably going to cost me more to mail it back than what I paid for it and it is useless. Also, binding already coming off on the side.
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
Very poor quality materials, ripped the first time trying to set it up. Even though it comes with stakes which I used, it pulled up the stakes blew off and all over the yard. Difficult to set up, won't stay in shape and you'll definitely never get it folded back in the storage pouch once you open it and take it out.
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
This product extends the season of my kitchen garden and protects it from the critters in my yard.
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
This ripped in 1 day after set-up and within days was totally torn through. I do not recommend this flimsy product. Doesn't hold up at all.
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
This product was a disappointment. As noted by other reviewers, the fabric tears very easily--mine started to tear just unfolding it. And even moderate wind is enough to pull it off, even when staked down. Not up to Gardener's Supply usually good standards. Do not buy unless you are using in a very sheltered environment, and even then I doubt you would get more than a season out of it before it tore and became useless.
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
Slightly unstable in heavy winds but with a couple of angor lines, worked great.
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
Would be almost perfect if it had a zippered top for easy access after setting up.
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
Have had the product only since March 17th on my boxes and already has torn...I have purchased many products from this company and this is the first one I have been totally disappointed in.
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
Very good at keeping plants from freezing and animals and birds can't get to the plants.

I used the 3' X 3' cover on my deck which I guess is a poor idea. I unfortunately lost all my plants that I had started indoors from seed.
Maybe if I had laid down black plastic under the plants, it would help.
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
LIke other reviewers, we found the fabric on the tall pop up net to be way too flimsy. The net did get our two citrus trees through a cold N.C winter, but it developed several big rips, so we've had to throw it away after less than 5 months of use. Too bad, because it was easy to set up and did protect our plants for a while.
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
I bought 3 of the tall 3 x 3 pop-up frost protectors, because I did not like pushing down my plants with the large frost protection sheets. They did the job really well. Sat on my begonias and herbs in the garden, in large pots, through frosts down to the teens at night. I found rain
water did not filter through them, though, and puddled on the top, weighting it down. When I removed one of them, it just ripped down the side where it was sewn to the frame, giving it a "fragile" comment. The tie down ability is great, as they are so lightweight and blow over in a light breeze. Kind of expensive for what you get, though. Would like a replacement for the damaged one. Will try...
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
Got the 3 X 6 low version last year for early season use and the product worked very well. The fabric is very low quality and basically disintegrated on one entire side rendering the product useless. It's a great idea and can work well but for only the front half of one growing season? If it were made with the Garden Quilt Fabric, sold separately in the catalog, it would probably have been worth it.
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
Needs to be securely held down or it blows away. Great for it's intended use.
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
I really liked these when we first set them up, although we replaced their stakes with real tent-pegs to make sure they'd stay put in high winds. They can collapse in the wind, but it's easy to pop them back up again. Aside from that, they did fine until we got some freezing rain and snow... the fabric tears easily if it gets wet, so brushing the snow off and wind movement afterwards ended up with large holes in the top and sides.

Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
Using the frost covers on my 3X3 raised beds. They have good frost protection, but they also shred very easily. Because I am constantly removing and replacing due to the frost cycles, I have torn most of these covers in one season. Going back to plastic covers
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
I can't evaluate the sturdiness of the 3x3 and 3x6 pop-up covers I bought as I have only used them twice. However, they are precisely what I needed to protect plants that would not survive a temporary freeze; I remove them when temperatures are less extreme. The rigid seams allow me to quickly cover plants without a preexisting frame. However, this is also their weakest feature as the "splints"in the seams must be rigid yet flexible enough to be collapsed: a truly difficult task. I am storing them semi-collapsed as 3x3 panels leaning against a wall in my garage. I will not attempt to return them into their cases until the Spring. Furthermore, I found that clipping a dowel onto the outside of any seam that wasn't straight helped the pop-up stand up. Doing this to the adjoining 3x3 panels in the larger pop-up was especially helpful. Both remained in place despite a moderate breeze.
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
Only complaint is that there is a slight kink in one side after unfolding. Doesn't detract at all just looks a little off kilter.

I have a Bay Laurel Tree that is not supposed to be planted outside in the winter in North Carolina. I planted it and I have kept it alive by covering it with straw in the winter. It is now 4' tall. I bought this to help with the winter weather. It is light weight and a snap to install. My precious Bay Tree is ready for winter. Fantastic product!!

Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
The idea was great. However, it collapsed in any wind, and I could not refold it easily. Perhaps snapping the centers together, instead of folding? The idea behind it is great... but in Bend, Or, where we can have winds all the time, it is not practical

Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
I was very disappointed in this purchase. Living in the Colorado mountains at 8000 feet, frost is a constant threat. I though this would be a handy item to have. The first time I lifted the velco strap the fabric ripped off. It also folded in 20 mile winds. I had all the stakes in place and the top folded over on top of itself. The corners of the net have also ripped.

Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
[...]The item pops open and covers an area 3 feet high x 6 feet long to protect plants from frost. There are metal stakes similar to tent stakes that can be placed into openings in the corners of the open unit to keep it from blowing away. If you have room to store this plant cover it will provide coverage for your plants. I did not have an opportunity to use it in temperatures below 30 degrees; however, no frost was present on the plants I used it to cover for one night. The fabric will tear if you do not handle it with care. I would suggest purchasing the smaller sizes and covering one or two plants with each unit or gathering several potted plants together and using this cover over them. No matter which size you buy, the cover will require a minimum storage space of 3 x 3 feet. Smaller covers should be easier to handle when popped out to their full size.

Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
We bought these frost nets to provide early spring protection to our vegetables and herbs from frost and hail.
They are difficult to keep in place. Even with stakes, they tend to blow around and collapse on themselves in wind and rain.
With the stakes in place, it is difficult to monitor and water the plants underneath. It becomes a huge task to unstake the net, remove it and then try to get it back in place without it partially collapsing. Perhaps the corner areas could be made of transparent plastic for a sort of "window"?
Although the nets have a tendency to partially collapse, when it comes time to store them I anticipate problems in collapsing them easily to put in the storage case.

Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
I placed this cover over my pepper and tomato plants on my deck. We had a very light frost and all were killed.
Maybe it was because I used it on a deck or that the plants were wet from the accompanying rain, but I was a bit dissapointed to lose my healthy plants.
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
worked great to cover tender plants when they were calling for a late frost. popped up quick and was easy to fold and store

Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
In the catalog I thought this pop up frost protector had a zipper to get access to the inside..it does not and I put it up and the wind blew it over and ripped the stake tabs..
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
I have two 3X6 garden boxes and use a Tall Frost Cover on each one. I am able to plant earlier and protect the "starts" and seeds from extremes, including heavy rain, unexpected cold, wind, and my soaker hose watering system keeps them damp longer. Great product!!!!!
Comments about Frost Pop-Up Nets:
I plan on using this with my 3x3 grow bed to be able to grow spinach and lettuce into the winter. It seems well constructed so I'm hopeful it will work well. Folds-up nicely for storage.
