Upside-down growing has become increasingly popular with tomato lovers. It removes the need for staking, tying or weeding, and it significantly reduces the chance of soil-borne disease. Since the fruit doesn't touch the ground, it has fewer blemishes, and you can hang your planter anywhere that gets plenty of sun. Buy now and save 25% over the regular price!
Our Gardener's Revolution® Planter has a unique top-down watering system that delivers the right amount of moisture to the soil. The new, woven-poly liner opens up for planting, then zips shut — you won't injure the plant trying to push it through a hole. The liner is also air-permeable to aerate roots and prevent heat build-up. An improved, two-part powder-coated steel cage encloses the liner, and the planter hangs from our unique swivel hook that makes it a breeze to turn your plant.
Even if you have a regular garden, you'll find that this revolutionary growing system is a fun way to get a picture-perfect harvest of delicious, homegrown tomatoes.

I used the other type two seasons ago & I was highly disapointed I bought these at the begining of our last growing season & was amazed at the amount of cherry & grape tomatoes they produced My 4 year old granddaught was able to just walk up & pick them, it was a highlight of her day when she visited I used the meters to tell me when to water & that made watering alot easier I recomend this item to anyone with limited space or someone like me, with a large garden, just wanting the convenience of having the plant right off the deck

florida is hard on the outside fabfic, after 5 months it is falling apart and will not make another season.

This is a "no brainer" for those who love home grown tomatoes. Much sturdier than the flimsy models advertised on TV. Add plant hangers to fence posts or areas that get appropriate sun and these can be moved to take advantage of best growing conditions. Fertilization is a cinch by adding to water reservoir.

They say there's one born every minute, and the popularity of the upside-down tomato planter seems to bear that out. I bought two of these things when GS had them on sale a few months ago, thinking they'd be good to grow fall tomatoes here in the South. I was a bit leery of the whole upside-down concept of growing tomatoes, but since I had a gift card that I needed to use, I figured, what the heck. When planting time came, I managed, with difficulty, to get the things filled and hung. Can I just say, if you buy one of these things, be prepared to have dirt EVERYWHERE when you're filling them--on the floor, the counter, your clothes and anything else in the vicinity. But once I got them hung up, I figured it would all be worth it if they grew good tomatoes. Well, it's been a month since I planted them, and the poor tomatoes I put in them, which were perfectly healthy at planting, are now a sickly greenish-yellow and have grown no more than a few inches. I am certain they will never flower, let alone make any tomatoes. They have had adequate sun and water during this time. As a last ditch effort to save their lives, I am spraying them daily with liquid plant food, but I think it will take a miracle to save these babies. It's Buyer Beware on this one, folks.

This item is a wonderful concept. I bought 8 of them right away. It was difficult to put together the first one, but of course, since I had 8 of them to do it was a breeze...practice makes perfect. One broke within a week of hanging because the clamps that hold the cage around it is cheap plastic. I bought everything they suggested as far as the type of tomatoes and soil to use. They did grow like wildfire in the beginning, but the tomatoe size was a little larger than a cherry tomato and very few fruit developed. I anticipated alot of tomatoes to be canned. They will also be difficult to store unless you take them completely apart and dump out the dirt. I was very dissatified with the results needless to say. I'll give it another try next year. If I get the same results, I'll trash all of them. Not worth the [$] price tag.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Good idea for a hanging planter but the watering system needs lots of improvement. Our strips kept drying out so we kept putting lots of water in the tray and the strips became slimy. We punched holes in the tray and watered it that way. Tomato plant did not do well with a total of 5 tomatoes and they all had blossom end rot.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I had great expectations! The bag was easy to put together and plant but was difficult to water. We had a very hot summer here in Maine so my husband was constantly taking the bags down so I could water them. My plants only grew about 8 inches below the bag and tried their darndest to reach for the sun. Yield was pretty sad.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Assembly went well despite a misleading diagram in the instructions. I planted a Super Bush plant as advised by G.S. The first tomatoes to develop were very small and succumbed to bottom end rot, despite our best attempts to keep the soil consistently moist. A few larger tomatoes have formed but show no sign whatever of ripening. Meanwhile three plants in a raised bed and one in a container have kept us well supplied for more than a month. I see no advantage to using this awkward and demanding growing method.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I had high hopes for this planter, but it let me down. It was difficult to actually put together, took two of us to try to get everything aligned correctly and hung. The water-soaking strips were not sufficient to keep the plant watered. I would not recommend or purchase this item, there are other hanging tomato planters that I have tried that were better.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I enjoy the hanger idea. Had difficulty assembling the bag, the top holes were not in correct location to follow the instructions, had to cut 1 hole myself. I have had problems with water getting to the soil; I am on the 3rd and last strip. Plant doing Ok and is in my small greenhouse. Sid
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I like how sturdy the planter is and how easy you can plant your tomato in it. However, the water reservoir didn't work for me even after trying for several times wetting the wick and soil. I gave up on it and just water it every day. The holes where you connect the bag to hanging mechanism didn't line up totally. I can only get 2 out of the 3 to line up but it still holds the cage well. I planted a early girl tomato in it and it is doing well.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
The new revolution planter provides a significant improvement over the original. The zippered bag and split frame make it much easier to load the plants into the planter and also allow larger plants to be loaded.

Was skeptical at first. Have been pleasantly surprised and hope for long wear and use. Thanks
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
My tomatoes are still in the growing stage so I can't give my final assessment but so far so good. The Revolution Planter was extremely easy to assemble and since I'm using it at my weekend house, I am so thankful that there is a water reservoir. The plants are going strong.

So far so good. The plants look great. I am hopeful it will continue with a good harvest,

This year we are trying the Revolution Planter. We planted 2 pepper plants in the garden and 2 in your hanging planter. The hanging plants have peppers almost ready to pick - the plants in the garden are just beginning to flower. The hanging plants are also twice the size of the plants in the garden.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I used the previous version of this upside-down planter and destroyed the root system of my young plants when trying to insert them into the planter. The zipper system combined with a two-piece cage worked beautifully. It was well worth the expense of upgrading!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
This couldn't be easier. My tomatoes have never looked better. Because they hang upside down, no staking is required. I don't have to worry about slugs or any other ground pests. I've added one each year and now have three. I love them. I would and have recommended them to others. My neighbors are now using them too.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
My plants are doing better than the ones planted in the ground. I will buy more next year.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Redesign--the water bowl should go in and out without having to unhook the chain and support the entire planter. Have your mother try that by herself!
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
More expensive than other upside planter, the apperance and sturdiness justified my purchase over others. Instructions were clear and concise and easy to assemble. I am uncertain if the plant is getting enough water, have always planted tomatoes in pots and easy to determine if watering is needed. I do not check the water daily which leads to not knowing how long the resevoir was empty. If the fabric is dry I do soak to allow for proper wicking. Final opinion will be if the tomatoes are flurishing later this summer.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
Easy to use and very sturdy. Have to wait until the tomatoes are ready to pick to know for sure.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter:
I found the Revolution Planter easy to use. I do have the other Topsy Turvy planters, but the Revolution Planter is much easier to plant tomatoes. I like the way it opens up & I can lay the plant down. This way your chances of breaking the stem is almost impossible. I highly recommend this planter.
