Upside-down growing is a fun way to garden that is also easy for tomato-lovers of all abilities. Hanging tomato plants don't need staking or tying. There's no weeding, and less chance of soil-borne diseases. Since the fruit doesn't touch the ground, it has fewer blemishes. And you can hang your upside down tomato planter anywhere that gets plenty of sun.
Hanging planters are prone to drying out, but our new Deluxe Revolution® Planter lets you garden without worry, thanks to a three-part watering system. Capillary strips carry water from the one-gallon reservoir to plant roots. A layer of plastic, sandwiched between natural coir Aquasav™ fibers, prevents rapid drying out. Even if you have a regular in-ground garden, we think you'll find that this revolutionary growing system is a fun way to get a picture-perfect harvest of delicious, garden-fresh tomatoes.

This is much more attractive than the green upside down things that I've used for years.I hung the planter yesterday. There was some difficulty inserting the plant, but got both through.I only plant cherry or grape tomatoes in the hanging planter.Larger tomatoes would be too heavy and drag on the ground.I placed 2 plants in the planter as I did with the green planters.
Comments about Deluxe Revolution® Planter:
Good idea, but it was just too big. When the tomato plant was small, the planter overshadowed it, not allowing the plant enough sun. I had the planter hanging from a cast-iron shepherd's crook, with a hanging flower basket on the other side for balance. But when the planter's soil was saturated with water, it bent the crook down. Also, as the tomato plant grew, it did end up touching the ground, since the planter was so tall.

Comments about Deluxe Revolution® Planter:
Bought two and was very pleased. Wrapped tomato leaves in heavy stock paper prior to inserting. Worked like a charm. Plants grew surprisingly well considering this odd NW summer weather.

Comments about Deluxe Revolution® Planter:
I purchased 4 planters and have 4 different types of tomatoes. I have grown tomatoes successfully for 20 years. This year is my very first failure. The plants are wimpy and are not producing well at all, which may be a blessing because the weight of the tomatoes is breaking the vines as it is. The plants want to go up towards the sun so they are bending around the bottom of the planter and towards the sky. Now they have tomatoes and the branches that are curved are being pulled down. I have lost several branches with tomatoes. The strips that are the automatic watering system they come with ends up being much more time consuming to manage than just watering. Plus the strips have to be changed every 4 weeks, something they don't mention until you get the planters.
They are great looking but don't produce great tomatoes.

I found it hard to get my tomato plants through the hole without destroying them. I went through several until I had one I thought would come back. The few times over the last 5 weeks that I have added water to the reservoir, it has dripped out the bottom.
Comments about Deluxe Revolution® Planter:
I love the hanging tomato planter concept, but think the green bag types are unslightly. This planter looks beautiful hanging from my home. It was very tricky threading the plant through the small hole. I should have tried threading the plant leaves into a paper towel cardboard roll and then using the roll to protect the plant while inserting into the small hole. Fortunately, my stressed tomato plants bounced back right away.
Comments about Deluxe Revolution® Planter:
this tomato planter is finally a great looking one - it looks natural - not the ugly green plastic for the other upside down tomato planters. It is interesting that the plants are trying to grow up - curving around the bottom of the planter, instead of growing down as you would expect. I am awaiting my first tomatoes to see if the weight brings them down.

Comments about Deluxe Revolution® Planter:
Impossible to stretch the coir to the top of planter. Coir insert smashed and sticky with glue and will not stretch. Sits 3" below rim and looks less than perfect. I thought a cover lid would have been appropriate also

Comments about Deluxe Revolution® Planter:
Just received 2 of these. One inner mat/bag was defective and I'm waiting for the replacement. I agree with other review that it is near to impossible to plant even the smallest seedling in this planter. The opening is small and does not open easily; much like the opening of a wet ones dispenser. I actually ended up using a cardboard TP roll;cut the roll, tucked it around the plant and gingerly pushed the roll through the opening. This worked okay, but otherwise I guess another pair of hands would be necessary. All else is in order. Now, just like any other tomato plant, we wait and see. I also bought the 4 armed hanger.it is quite sturdy and seems to be well built.

Comments about Deluxe Revolution® Planter:
The plants look amazing & the holders look oh so beautiful in our garden! If I could give them more stars I would. I am so excited about them! AND, I can use them again and again:)
Comments about Deluxe Revolution® Planter:
This planter is so much more attractive than those plastic bag upside-down planters. The reservoir capacity is great and I don't have to worry about the tomatoes drying out between waterings. As an added bonus, some of the birds love the improvised "birdbath" of the reservoir!
Comments about Deluxe Revolution® Planter:
I make my backyard look like someone is getting married - overflowing with flowers. My issue with tomatoes has been little critters who dine on my beautiful tomatoes. Finally - I can use this good looking tomato planter, because I certainly am not using that ugly one on the market! I think I will buy 2 more.
Comments about Deluxe Revolution® Planter:
Looks great in my kitchen window. Working well and like that I only have to water twice a week! Plant was stressed pushing it into the opening,so I put my planted the next one(I bought 2 planters) through the larger opening (pushing the leaves through the small opening insted of the whole root system) and then added soil. Much easier :)

Comments about Deluxe Revolution® Planter:
Although this product is attractive and easy to hang, I ruined several tomato seedlings because the feed through hole was too narrow and damaged my plants. The instructions say to feed the plant through the inside which I do not recommend. It wasn't until I shoved the plant through the bottom (outside) that I had a successful transplant. Use a larger seedling too, the small ones probably won't survive.
I also have the green hanging planter and with both I decided not to use the self watering bowl because it overwatered the plants.
Comments about Deluxe Revolution® Planter:
It's my first year to try one of these upside down planters, and I chose this one because it is more attractive then the other types of upside down planters, so far it is working great and looks great, I can't wait for the tomatoes, I think next year I will get a couple more!
Comments about Deluxe Revolution® Planter:
My first attempt with this product. I am getting vigorous growth of my tomato plant. I anticipate good success and many tomatoes.

Comments about Deluxe Revolution® Planter:
We wanted to try something different for our tomatoes and also wanted an attractive container to hang off our porch. These planters seem to be meeting all our expectations.
Comments about Deluxe Revolution® Planter:
I bought 2 of the regular green Revolution Planters and wish I had gotten one more instead of this planter. It looks okay on the website, but the green planters are so much easier to plant and look much better in the garden. More expensive is not always better.
Comments about Deluxe Revolution® Planter:
It;s almost impossible to plant a tomato plant into this thing without causing significant damage to the plant
