Our Revolution® Planter Success Kit includes everything you need to grow great tomatoes: our updated Gardener’s Revolution Planter, 1 pound of All-Organic Tomato Fertilizer and a 20-quart bag of Self-Watering Container Mix. The planter is designed for healthy plant growth and easy maintenance, so you can get a blemish-free harvest anywhere in full sun — even on your deck or by the front door. The planter is sturdy and reusable, with a two-part, powder-coated steel cage and a woven poly liner that lets roots "breathe." The liner opens up for planting, then zips shut, so you won't injure the plant trying to push it through a hole. The planter hangs from our unique swivel hook that makes it a breeze to turn your plant. And now we've improved the top-down water delivery system to make it easier than ever to keep the plant properly watered. Even if you have a regular garden, you'll find that this revolutionary growing system is a fun way to get a picture-perfect harvest of delicious, homegrown tomatoes.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter Success Kit:
This item is time-consuming and expensive to use. I bought it so that I could plant a tomato plant which I also purchased from your store. The plant died and now I have an upside down bag of plant material just sitting outside my door. It was a total waste of time and money in my opinion.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter Success Kit:
easy watering for my tomato plants, no guessing needed for fertilizing.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter Success Kit:
For tomatoes, much more soil is required. I would be more enthusiastic about a larger, heftier product.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter Success Kit:
So far so good. Planted the tomatoes two weeks ago and they are doing great. However, they require a "heavy duty" plant hanger. Due to their weight a typical pole plant hanger will not work.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter Success Kit:
The only thing I did wrong was to get the soil too wet when first setting it up. Maybe those directions could be improved with something like "add a quart of water."
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter Success Kit:
A very well constructed, heavy duty planter! Everything you need to grow great tomatoes (except the tomatoe plant) comes in the kit. I am glad I ordered two of these rather than buying the cheap, flimsy brand advertized on TV.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter Success Kit:
I bought another upside-down planter last year, and this one is vastly superior. The zipper makes it easy to fill, it is not unduly heavy, and the reservior at the top holds a lot of water.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter Success Kit:
So far, so great. I'm excited to see how many tomatoes I get.
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter Success Kit:
Great item. Will order again for sure.

Tried the others. This is far superior to others on the market...
Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter Success Kit:
I have started a Sweet 1000 tomato in the hanging planter. So far the plant looks healthy and green but hasn't put on much growth yet. I like the idea of the water reservoir but haven't been able to make it work consistently without having to climb up and manually soak the feeder strips to start the soaking process. However, once it starts, it gives a long slow watering to the plant which is much better than the old planters where the water just ran through in 10 or 15 minutes. I have great hopes for this planter. I also love the metal cage which is included with the planter. And the fabric the planter is made of is much more sturdy than the old style plastic. Also, the zipper to insert the plant is a much better arrangement and gentler on the plant.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter Success Kit:
I purchased four upside down tomato planters, and stand last fall. I read what others had to say about the problems watering, so I tried something a little different. I drilled holes in the bottom of the water reservoir, then threaded the fabric strips through. The size of the holes are slightly bigger than a 1/4" drill bit. Two holes-one strip. Four holes seem to be good for my experiment. When I planted my tomato plants I made sure to thread the strips around the soil. At this time it seems to be working GREAT, I will let you know at a later date, if it continued to work this well.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter Success Kit:
Interesting idea poorly executed. Watering was a problem, the bags tore and the iron hook bent under the weight. Tomatoes withered.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter Success Kit:
In New Mexico we have a lot of wind in spring and summer, which dried out the container quickly. I often had to add water directly to the soil, since the wicks couldn't keep up with the task. I'll try again this year, but plant on top and hand water. I'll also stick with the smaller cherry tomatoes.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter Success Kit:
This is a great improvement over an earlier version of this item. The older one had a plastic instead of canvas container which barely made one season. I also like the fact that this one opens to divide into two halves making filling and planting much easier. Now if you can just find a way to keep the squirrels from eating my tomatoes this will be a perfect product.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter Success Kit:
This is my second time using this. Love it, it is very heavy so make sure you have a hanging device that will hold 40+. I see the new version has built in watering strips, hope I can purchase that for my older model. I have given 2 out as gifts, they both love theirs also. Nice to have toms right there hanging to pick.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter Success Kit:
I BOUGHT 8 OF THESE TO HANG ON MY PRIVACY FENCE. THE FIRST ONE WAS DIFFICULT TO PUT TOGETHER UNTIL I GOT THE HANG OF IT. WE HAD A STRONG WIND ONE DAY AND THE CHEAP PLASTIC CONNECTORS BROKE OFF. WE DID EVERYTHING IT SAID TO DO ON THE INSTUCTIONS, BUT IT DIDN'T PRODUCE VERY MANY TOMATOES ON ANY OF THE PLANTS. WE HAD HOPED TO GET BUSHELS FULL LIKE THEY CLAIM IN THE ADVERTISEMENT SO WE COULD CAN THEM, BUT ENDED UP ONLY GETTING ENOUGH FOR SALADS. IT'S A GREAT CONCEPT, BUT NEEDS BETTER ENGINEERING AND THE HOLES DIDN'T LINE UP WITH THE SUPPORT HOOKS, SO WE HAD TO CUT NEW ONES. IT'S VERY HEAVY SO YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GOOD HOOKS TO HANG THEM ON OF THEY WILL FALL OFF. I HAD WROUGHT IRON HOOKS WITH 3 STRONG SCREWS IN EACH ONE AND STILL ONE OF THE PLANTERS BROKE THE HOOK OFF. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE END RESULT OF SMALL TOMATO SIZE. WE PLANTED LARGE BEEFSTEAK TOMATO PLANTS ALSO AND THEY WERE JUST A LITTLE BIGGER THAN A CHERRY TOMATO. CAN'T COMPARE TO GROWING THEM IN THE GROUND. DON'T RECOMMEND THIS ITEM AT ALL ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY AREN'T THAT CHEAP TO BEGIN WITH[...]

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter Success Kit:
I was enthused to get started using this product so off I went placing the plant and dirt into the vessel. I could hardly lift it once I watered it for the first time. You need to hang it high enough to allow growth of the plant, yet low enough to water. It took tons of water after the first time to keep the plant watered at the roots sometime bending my hook right down. Maybe I got tired of watering it, but all in all I got just one delightful tomatoe. I purchased two of them initially and they are in storage now.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter Success Kit:
I loved the look compared to the local store selection, topsy survy, I emptied it and stored it hoping to use this year. The bag fell apart, now I have a great frame and no bag. I put a coconut fiber mat in it, and used it for herbs.I really thought the canvas bag was going to last. I would puchase a replacement bag if available.

These require very strong supports and tall to keep from leaning close to the ground where critters climb on and have lunch.Stagnant water for mosquito breeding. Did not like.

The capallary strips did not work. The soil mixture dried out. I drilled a few small holes in the bottom of the water container. I had to continure checking to see if the soil was geting too much or too litle water.

Comments about Gardener's Revolution® Planter Success Kit:
This was a great piece for my postage sized backyard. I found a sunny window to hang it from and viola, instant beautification. However, the "basket" was so heavy I needed another strong back to lift it to the hangar. The only other problem I found was the water delivery system. This is where some more engineering needs to come into play. The fabric watering wick dries out before the water gets to the plant. I finally had to "overwater" the plant to get my toms water. By this I mean I had to put enough water in the reservoir to overflow down into the sides of the planter. Only then would the water get to the plant roots. This became more important on hot summer days when I would have to water again in the afternoon or the plant would wilt from the heat on the roots. I did find it convenient to hang it above a potted tree; the overwatering wasn't wasted onto the patio, I watered the tree too. ;-) I did this for two of my toms and patio trees. They ended up looking great and didn't waste as much water. To aide the watering I think next time I will drill a couple of small holes in the bottom of the reservoir and thread the fabric through the holes instead.
