In England, the gardening philosophy is simple: when something works, don’t change it. This natural jute garden twine is a perfect example. Sold in a patented, no-tangle tin since 1915, it’s softer, more pliable, and easier on plants than hardware store twine. A turn-of-the-century innovation that’s just as useful today.

Beans climb up the string so easily. It blends in with the garden [color]. And, it is biodegradeble at the end of the season.
{A little known secret, it it excellant to tie around your leg for nighttime cramping in the leg & calves. Old remedy from my grandmother}
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
I use this product in so many ways I've lost count. I use it to string my tomato plants, to subdivide my raised bed, to tie down tomato plant sheets and covers at night, to restrain my day lilies and peonies, and this is just the start!
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
Love the dispenser - no more wadded up twine!
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
As useful as duct tape - gotta have it with me in my cart of gardening supplies.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
Such a simple idea. Easy to find the twine now in my gardening tools basket. Also keeps it from getting tangled up. The only thing I would improve is to be able to buy a refill. My old, empty container was in perfect shape and seemed a shame to resycle it when it could be refilled.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
Came in a easy pop out can. The one's you buy at the store always seem to get tangled. It is great for holding tomato plants. I bought one and refill it with the store bought ones
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
This little can of twine has been wonderful. No more tearing up old t-shirts!
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
This natural jute is wonderful in the garden. Love it...
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
I have used it to make the grids in my square foot garden. Leaves more area exposed and available for planting.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
New to this product. Have used it in the greenhouse to tie plants to trellis and in the landscape to tie a climbing rose to an arbor. Very nice product.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
I love this twine. It does not get tangled up. It looks vintage in this old fashioned tin
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
as above...stong enough to hold a bale of straw
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
I like finding the end of the twine - don't like to hunt for an end in tangled mess of string/twine.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
Great idea to control string but the metal lid does fall off easily and the string gets wound up inside the can easily so that you have to remove the top, ease it loose and replace the top. Happened over and over again during one project I was tying up. Don't think I will order it again.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
I feel lost when I run out of this product. There is always something in the garden that needs to be put in order, and this twine is always the answer.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
The best thing about this twine is the container for storage...I hate it when twine gets tangled or unravels. This container with the dispenser lid keeps it neatly stored and easy to use.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
Great for everything from staking bushes to decorating during the holidays
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
This is a soft twine, easy to tie and seems gentle enough for tying up delicate plants. I've also used it for attaching netting for climbing vines, e.g. clematis. The can in which it stays keeps it from tangling, or keeps the user from inadvertently starting from the wrong end!
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
These come in a plastic wrapper that appears to be the packaging. After removing it, I realized it was what held the cap on, making it somewhat useless now. It should also have a built in cutter. The twine does seem nice and durable ans the green color seems like it will blend better.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
[...]avoids knots and tangles
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
I've used this product for years - there is no other like it; some of its uses for me:
To tie wayward branches of new trees and other woody plants to guide them the way I want them to grow;
To bundle old magazines for recycling.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
This twine has been out in the elements serving as a grid for my plantings in raised beds. It's durable, substantial, and its green dye doesn't rub off on surfaces (like my hands when I'm out weeding after a rain).
My only wish is that the container had a built-in cutter like a spool of thread has.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
This is wonderful string for my tomatoes and beans, but works very well for a variety of other uses in my garden.

This product could use a self contained cutting mechanism so you don't have to fumble with a sissors.

great to use on climbing roses and other flowering plants that need to be tied back or guided-the natural green color blends in to the garden

FOR ALL PLANTS AND FLOWERS. IT IS STURDY AND IT DOESN'T TANGLE OUT OF THE CAN.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
Great product, indispensable in the garden and yard. I keep it on hand all the time and use it often.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
i was ordering this product from england-i could not be without this product.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
We love this product and just ordered two more. It's biodegradable, nice looking, and versatile. The only issue is you have no idea when it's going to run out - it just does. But it's our favorite plant support material.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
Best all around tie-up there is - comes out of the can nicely, blends in well, is strong enough to tie up those limbs that are the legacy of many years of too-timid pruning, and it holds up well through at least a full four seasons. And I rarely find the remains of last year's twine, suggesting it gets a second life in a bird's nest somewhere - though I may be reaching with that one.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
...a garden plot, that is. We have found countless ways to use this twisted green twine in our gardens and greenhouse. It hides well. It is soft, yet strong. It is the only twine we use to tie up our tomatoes. And, the metal canister makes it easy to dispense and store.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
Great twine, and the best container ever. No messy splls of twine in every direction, and you are always in control of how much you need to use. Also, I like the quality of the twine and there is a lot in the container. Every gardener needs this.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
I've yet to see how color-fast this string is over time, but I really like the stuff. Plenty of it too. The lid is somewhat loose fitting, and a built-in string cutter would be helpful. Apart from that it's a good product at a reasonable price.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
Does everything it claims and needs to do.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
This twine is so easy to use and store. No more messy and tangled twine for me! It is strong (I even use it to tie cardboard and newspapers for recycling), blends in with the plants and easy to cut.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
So many uses and love the color, green!
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
This is the best gardening/landscape twine I have ever come across. We use it to provide a trailing source for hanging pots of passion flower vine and mandevilla. We also use it to tie up our foundation plants of Arborvitae for the winter to avoid snow splay.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
I use the greentwist twine everywhere in my garden. It's great for giving plants support. The green color lets in blend in so you don't even see it.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
I have extensive perennial gardens, and staking is one of my least favorite chores. While I like to use the grow through stakes for some plants, there are others that require bamboo stakes and twine. This product stays neat in its container, can be easily pulled out to the needed length, and because it is green, blends nicely with the plant foliage. I have tried many other twines, and always come back to this one. Please keep it in your catalogue!!
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
We used the Greentwist to tie literature to the sapling trees we purchased for Arbor Day. We handed out 1000 trees and handed them out to employees and 150 school children. We used 1 foot pieces from two containers and had just enough. The containers are recyclable, the label is recyclable and a product that is compostable...it meets my requirements for purchasing!
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
Absolutely no tangles coming out of the container. Easy to use.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
I've used this product for a long time, primarily in vegetable gardening. It has never failed and I find it much more effective than newer synthetic products.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
This past summer, for the first time ever, I got one can of twine that broke so easily I could pop it with my bare 65-year-old hands. It couldn't hold up roses or daisies, much less the fall-blooming clematis that really needs training. So I've bought two more cans, but I'll be sending them back to you if the breakage continues next season.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
This is my second can of twine and I love it. It is easy to use and has enough twine to last me 2 seasons or more. Makes stringing my pole beans easy.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
Tin is larger then the picture looks. Numerous uses. Use it to hold up flowers and vegetables. When empty the tin makes a nice display!
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
I haven't used this yet, but am anxious to get rid of all the other strings and ties tangled up my my gardening shed. This is so handy is this can.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
It is the most naturally colored twine available.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
Just a little bit tied around my arborvitaes keeps their shape through the winter and never shows in the summer, last a few seasons...
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
This garden twine works & stores well. It's easy to use when your hands are full, trying to prop a wayward branch to a stake while cutting twine. I plan to get more!
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
Ties up tomatoes well, also overabundant flowers
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
The twine is colored green so it becomes invisible against the background plants. It's very durable. The canister is great for keeping the twine tangle free.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
This twine is wonderful! It's gentle on plants, virtually disappears when in place, and is highly versatile in that it can be cut to any length (using the no-tangle dispenser with its handy top cutter -- no more searching for a sissors for a quick tie up). For eco-responsible gardening this biodegradable green jute cannot be beaten. Accept no substitutes!
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
The storing is very handy but it is not quit durable enough for the vegetable garden.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
They could add a cutting device on the can to make it more practical. Using yarn in the garden would be comparable.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
Great product
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
I use this twine for everything from tying my newspapers for recycling to providing runners for my honeysuckle and clemantis. It's also great for keeping flowers under control-I use it to hold up and tie back my dahlias and perennial sunflowers-it's green so it blends in. It's also easy to use-just pull! No more twisted twine!
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
This twine holds everything green up, over, and sideways without being seen. I's the only twine I've ever used that didn't become a ball of knots immediately.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
It does exactly what I anticipated. Glad it is green so it blends in with plants. Love the storage & ease of use. Generous quantity that will last me a long time.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
Using this saves plants from from cuts and bruises as it is very soft but strong. It is also not as visible like some other plant ties are. What's great is that it is all natural jute, so you don't have to worry about polluting anything.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
this is always in my garden cart. I would not be without it!
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
I am so happy that I tried this twine. It is very easy to use and feeds right out of the can. The twine is soft and does not damage the plants.
The container is easily stored and makes dispensing the twine effortless.
Comments about Greentwist Garden Twine:
Convenient. I carry it in my gardening bucket and use it for trellising or staking flowers.
