We actually tied the two trellis pieces together long ways and used as a sort of tee pee for growing smaller Asian melon in our raised bed. Most of the melons when ripe simply dropped to the bed and we picked them up and enjoyed them.

I have three of these trellises now and think I might have to get another one or two for next year. The cucumbers grew right up the trellis and they hung down just as in the pictures. I did grow lettuce on the shady side of the trellis and that worked well. I am going to try growing other types of squash on the added trellis next year. These trellises are sturdy, easy to assemble and they were easy to take apart for storage in my shed for the winter. This would make a great gift for a gardner. Of all the things that I have in my garden my friends and neighbors were drawn to the trellis to see "how the cucumbers were hanging".

I used this for the first season this year and it worked great. The cucumbers grew through the grids and hung down. It was easy to see when they were ready to pick and there was no rotting issues. I used the product as recommended by the instructions. It worked pretty well until the midday sun here in GA heated the wire too hot for the tendrils. I would like to purchase the bean tower but I fear that the same heating problem will recur. A fibreglas material or bamboo I think would work better here in the south. After the leaves grow and shade the wire the problem was reduced. I tried sprinkling at midday and later but that was not effective.

This is my third season with my cucumber trellis (2). They are great! A real space saver. My only negative comment to share is that my cucumbers outgrow them. Taller trellis' would be better for me. I believe it is because of my partially shaded garden. My plants s-t-r-e-t-c-h for sun. Tomatoes surpass the 7' fence. So easy to find and pick the cucumbers. No more rot or critter nibbles from being on the ground!

In the past, I've used rope based climbing for cucumbers. And that was ok, but after seeing this product on the site, I decided to go with the angled approach.

Its not as efficient with space as a vertical climbing arrangments. But its much better for growing cucumbers. The fruit will hang straight down. They grow perfectly straight. The leaves get a lot more sun, than if they climbed vertically. Its a great value at that price.

My suggestions would be to make it 6 feet long. Its mid July, and my cucumbers have already grown past the 4 foot length. And they are still growing. It will make it easy for next year for sure, and I may get a second one for another bed.

I have the other trellises by Gardener Supply that work great with my peas and I have used them for the cucumbers, but I have to say these slanted trelllises are excellent. Since this is the first time I've used these, I had a hard time deciding just what angle to set them. At first, with a gentle slope, the support legs stuck out and could trip an unwary gardener (they are hard to see, too). So then I reset them at a much steeper slope, but added another support leg to the center for more stability. I don't yet know how effective they will be as my cucumbers are just starting to flower. I will have to train the plants to climb the grid.

These are wonderful. Throw out the poles with the plastic netting which are so cumbersome. Use 2 of these to make an A frame for your beans. Install the legs about 4 squares down from the top so they stand more upright and use for pole beans and bush beans. Use the same way for Sweet Pea flowers and other climbing plants in a small area. Use 2 about 1 foot apart (one slightly under the other) to double the number of cucumbers you can grow in a small area. And, they store neatly all winter in minimal space.

I am liking the cucumber trellis, unfortunately I had to get two because one really does not accomodate that many plants, I have 5 plants on each (4 cucumber, 1 zucchini). Some reviews had mentioned it was flimsy, but I can say we have had many thunderstorms and gusty winds so far this late spring/summer and we have not found it to be flimsy and we did not go to extra lengths to secure it. It is supporting our plants nicely thus far and I can see it will be very easy to store for next year. This was really the only product I could find like it, no nurseries or garden centers had any suggestions for cucumber support.

Planted 12 cucumber at base (staggered and wrapping alomst around to back side) and am waiting for them to climb. Seems to be enough space for all btu we'll see once leaves come out. Super simple to put together and stores flat. Stoof up to first very big thunderstorm we had so much steadier than I thought it would be considering it is supported by 2 wire rods.

i was excited to be able to grow crops under the trellis but thats not the case, at least not easily. The trellis needs to be larger to be an effective cover for sensitive crops. The trellis also needs to be larger in order to be able to get under it and harvest; i'm not the biggest fan of crawling on my knees. the size is really my only complaint. For the price it should be larger. My cucs took it over in no time and have reached the ground on the other side already and the seasons just gettin started, but my plants are some of the most vigorous i've ever seen. I would reccomend for the small garden or raised bed but not a large veggie garden, if you have a large veggie garden id go with something bigger.

We originally ordered one and after we got it, we decided to order another one to hold our cucumbers all the way across the bed. So far it is really doing its job. We have little cukes hanging all over it! We did wire it down both at the top and bottom as we have a lot of wind here and I would hate for them to get pulled out of the ground at this point.
The gauge of wire is good and it is up to you as to the incline of the trellis. We actually planted our cucumber plants under the trellis so we did not get to take advantage of the space underneath for lettuce, etc. Maybe next year.

I purchased one unit last year for the community garden project we were starting in our condo association and it worked very well. We doubled the size of the project this year and I ordered 2 more, they were on back order so I didn't get the plants started on them as soon as should be but they are still usefull. Next year I will have them at the beginning and it will be even better.

They store well and I use the unfolded
cardboard packages as a staging area in my garage for delivery of veggies.

The only issue is my inability to get the curvy end piece on the wire without trying 10 times. My problem, not the product.

Great idea for keeping cukes off the ground and providing additional growing space! Our cukes seem to love this trellis as they are climbing all over it! However, we ordered a divided, raised bed from Gardener Supply (8' x 4') and the trellis just fits within the width, so this works better with larger gardens or installing out of the garden bed. Also, our trellis came with 1 or 2 securing stakes -- I think it needs at least 4 stakes. We ended up purchasing separately earth stakes.

This year is my first attempt to having a little garden in the yard vs the patio. The cucumbers are just coming up so not climbing on the trellis as yet. But I truly believe they will be making their way up there and hopefully I will get a good harvest. I thought the idea of the trellis was great...why let the cumcumbers lay on the ground to increase the chances of rotting. I also planted leaf lettuce under the trellis. This cucumber trellis will improve the number and quality of my cucumbers this year. Currently my seedlings are about an inch tall and planted adjacent to the inner and outer wire frame. I may suggest adding an additional wire frame to make an A-frame trellis avoiding the need for the metal legs and increasing the surface area for vines to climb. This is a fantastic product and real space saver. I would recommend it to anyone who loves to garden.

I have zucchini, yellow neck squash and cucumbers on this trellis. It is sturdy and fabulous to look at as the vines grow up it. Hoping they add one to the line that is 6-8' tall to expand out further over the garden area. I will likely buy another one for next year. LOVE IT!

I love my cucumber lattice and it works great in the container garden that I have. I am using one for a large batch of cucumbers and I am using one for icebox watermelons. This design allows me to grow lettuce and other greens underneath without them getting burned in the sun. Great product.

We currently are using the trellis (2) in a limited space garden. Extremely good quality. We are growing cucumber, yellow and zuchini squash and snap peas. After the season is over the product is easily folded up and put away for storage. The only improvment is I would include 2 or 3 stakes to secure the trellis in the ground.

This product turned out more versatile than advertised. It ships in two pieces, intended to be joined together for a larger support stand. It met my usefulness better placed in two locations. The metal is heavy gauge and attractive. I expect to use this item for several years.

I AM TRYING THIS OUT BECAUSE LAST YEAR HIGH WINDS KNOCKED HEAVY TOMATO PLANTS ON MY VINES AND I LOST MOST OF MY CUCUMBER PLANTS. WHAT WAS LEFT SPOILED ON WET SOIL IF I WASN'T CAREFUL. The trellis was easy to assemble and is very durable. It stormed the night that we put them in the garden, and they were still standing the next morning. We did anchor them down with some stakes because we are in the a high-wind area. I'm planning on buying some more next year for the cantaloupe. I am amazed at how much additional space this product added to my small garden area. I was able to plant bush beans, peas and cucumbers on the trellis and cantaloupe and multiple varieties of zucchini under it! Amazing the added space it provided my garden!!

Every year I usually build a cucumber trellis out of materials from my yard. This year I decided to try this 48" square folding trellis and I have to say I really like it. I haven't gotten through a whole growing season, but so far it was easy to set up and put in place, it looks nice (I imagine it will look great covered with cucumbers...) and it will store flat for the winter, a real bonus. It feels sturdy.

My box gardens do not provide enough room to grow cucumbers and squash along with the other different vegetables Your trellis has solved my spacing problem. The base of the trellis is in the box garden but the remainder of the trellis and supports are located outside. The cucumbers and squash are now growing along the trellis with only their root system in the box garden. This allows a lot more room for planting other vegs.

Last year I bought my first cucumber trellis and absolutely loved it! This year I ordered a second one for growing squash. I have four grow beds and a limited amount of space for growing large, vine crops and these trellises make it possible. They store easily in the garage during the winter and are easy to mow around in the summer. Overall, a great product that I highly recommend!

When my M.S. became debilitating I quit gardening. With some rearrangement I can get dirt under my nails again. But I need to use less space and this cuke 'rack' is just the thing. Cukes staying clean in the air and spinach underneath.

I haven't had much luck growing cucumbers in the last couple of years and hope the Gardeners Supply cuke trellis will remedy that. I really like that it does double duty and will shade my lettuce, hopefully extending the season. The only flaw is that the legs twist on and for some reason that was kind of hard for me to do.

I bought 2 and they're worth every penny! I have raised vegetable and flower gardens in Florida. I was able to fold them Teepee style and now have summer squash, tomatoes and peppers and cukes growing through them, with plenty of room underneath for petunias and peppers. Nicely made, and well designed, we got good quality cucumbers using this trellis. I recommend planting seeds back a bit from the trellis as even our "small space" varieties wanted to grow beyond the trellis. This product worked so well for us, we have purchased three more! They store well and are sturdy (we had a pumpkin vine sneak onto ours and it held up a large pumpkin with no problem).

I was disappointed in the two legs that support the trellis. We had to use rebar stakes to support it or it would have fallen to one side or the other. For the price the support legs should be designed much more efficient. It was flimsy even with nothing growing on it I can't imagine how it would be when loaded with cucumbers. Anyway, if I had saved my boxes I would have returned them right away. I will not purchase them again.

Just like another reviewer, I used it for butternut squash which is both a heavy plant and a heavy individual veggie. One caution: on return from vacation, I found one squash had bent two rods by wedging itself between them. I am waiting for it to ripen to cut it out. The cucumbers just seem to drop through the grid nicely. Also, in this season's unusually prolonged heat with nights in the high 30's to 40's, I find some of the cool weather veggies facing east(bok choi and kale) planted in the shade protected from the western sun developed a heavy aphid infestation. I suspect this was a combination of planting them too far underneath the grid in a relatively high humidity and lack of air flow (wind comes mostly from west) micro-environment. Chard in the same conditions did fine.

the stays that hold the trellis up need supports b/c they go in the ground. i have little rubber feet using rubber stoppers. also it was hard to set up alone at first. but once i got the hang of it it was okay

For the first time since growing cucumbers, mine were perfectly formed - long and straight. With this trellis I was able to monitor their growth (because they were not hidden by leaves) so that the cucumbers were picked at precisely the right time. I certainly plan on buying another!

I bought two cucumber trellises at the beginning of the season. I have had so much success with growing big, juicy, straight, blemish free cucumbers that my family can't keep up with them! We have donated dozens to a food pantry. This product kept the cucumbers off the ground so we no longer have losses due to voles and rabbits...pesky varmints. I have bought another and if I expand my garden I will buy more. After seeing my garden my neighbor wants them, too!

The Wire Cucumber Trellis needs one minor fix:
The supporting foot sinks into the ground when the trellis is covered with the plant (weight sinks the foot in the ground).
Will be a plus to weld a cross wire, 4 inches long - the same size as the foot - about 6 inches from the bottom, making like a "cross" so it stops sinking.
