I have gardened for over 30 years and prefer verticle vines rather than ground runners. This trellis should keep produce off the ground, get more exposure to sun, and make it easy to pick. We'll grow cukes on it this year.

This is my first season to garden using cucumber trellises, and as the summer is just beginning it's hard to say how well they will hold up. I have a very large plot of land, all deer fenced, in which to garden, but finding really usable, convienent to use trellises is a real boone to gardening, in my book. Have had the trellis for 4 seasons now and it still does not show much wear. Versatile piece that can snap together to be a wide trellis or each half propped over a tomato cage for less space. Works well to keep the cucumbers off the ground...already bought one for a friend!

I purchased this for my 3'X3' raised bed. This is much larger than I was thinking it would be. The legs are extremely long. If you are placing this on pavement you will have to cut the legs in order for it to fit in the raised bed. Once the legs are cut down, be sure to tie it down to the bed so that the wind will not take off with it. I think it is going to work out great! Just a bit of extra work you have to do!

This product fits a 4x8 raised bed garden perfectly. It is easy to set up and take down. I have not had it long enough to see how it stands up to the weight of the cucumbers. I am also planting melons alonside of the cucumbers and am waiting to see if it will support them as well.

I planted cucumbers last year on my trellis. I was so impresed with my cucs that I ordered another one for this year to try mellons on it. I have tried to vine cucs on other trellises and had no sucess. I also was not bothered by the cucumber beetles as I have been in the past. I don't know why the trellis kept the beetles away but it did.

Bought this for container gardening on my brick patio. I put the stakes into some tomato pots to anchor it and cantilevered the metal trellis onto a built in feature of the patio, a sandstone and brick cooking area/grill. Seems to be fairly secure even under high winds (40mph).

There's also room to place some other plants under it if they need shade.

Placed 2 cucumber pots and an eggplant pot under the trellis. The tomato pots anchoring it also receive some shade.

Just planted veggies, and they're just starting to flower and touch the trellis, so can't rate how well it works yet.

I think it will work well though.

I just installed raised beds next to our house and we're using the trellise for our cucumbers. Since the bed is against the house, I've had to cut the stands down so that it will fit in the bed at the correct angle.

My husband opened this today, struggled to get the bag off, struggled to detach the instructions, and struggled to connect the 2 halves of the trellis together. As my husband's frustration grew, I had visions of Rodney Dangerfield struggling with this and in the end wadding it up and throwing it into the trash alongside the road. HAHAHA It was actually easily assembled, but the grids were a little warped so they didn't line up perfectly. Once we got it together. it seems terrific - sturdy and unobtrusive. I can't wait to see cucumbers scampering up this trellis!

These frames are fantastic. I've found scores of uses for them from cukes to peas to melons and flowers. They really are well made and easy to use. My only objection to them is the awful and unnecessary plastic wrappers they come in. I can compost the cardboard boxes, but the plastic really irks me.

This product was easy to assemble and install by myself, no tools needed. I was able to push edges into soft soil, but stakes or staples may be handy for more stability. My cucumbers haven't gotten big enough to climb yet, so it will still be some time before they test the trellis strength!

The length of the Trellis is short for vining cucumber. The length of the trellis could be extended without changing the current ones design simply by having a connector to extend the trellis to a longer length. The support legs would possibly have to be longer. I like the trellis's light weight and ease of assembly.

I started a raised bed garden this year. I wanted to have a trellis that I could place within the raised bed. I felt the description was a little lacking. When I tried to figure out the size of the trellis, it did not desribe it well. I thought the piece was more like a square but it is more a rectangle. The raised bed I wanted to place it in is 4X4 feet inside dimensions. It sits perfectly in that space. I am slightly concerned that their may not be anough height but I do have a bush variety cucumber to it will probably not be an issue. If you want a taller trellis, you can turn it the other way but it would limit the number of plants. It depends on what you want.

I built my own 4 x 4 raised beds, so the cucumber trellis was perfect for my space in its original size. I appreciate being able to grow pickling cukes vertically and allow their own vines to offer some sun protection for the fruit. This was always a challenge in the past, when I allowed my cucumbers to grow on a vertical fence. And growing lettuce or other veggies beneath the trellis is a great use of the space- no area goes to waste in my garden! I'm in zone 7b so lettuce in the late spring is already pushing the limits; summer is nearly out of the question, but with the trellis and a location that gets morning-to-early afternoon sun, I can extend my lettuce season, too.

bought this product last year and was not pleased with the effect it had on the plants when they grew over the top. the stems crimped and the cucumbers stopped growing from lack of nutrients and water. i plan to use this as the opposite side of the one from last year so the vines will have all the support they need. if you don't have the other one i would suggest you buy the new frame that has been added this year that is v shaped to begin with!

Kids go crazy when they easily see the cukes dangling from trellis and can easily help with harvest. No damaging vines walking on them when looking for the veggies. Also provides great ventilation to minimize powdery mildew issues.

Cucumbers haven't grown on it yet but it seems quite sturdy and will support them well. I wish the legs went straight down since having them at an angle takes up that much more space (I have it over the side of my raised bed) but oh well. Only using half of it right now to save space.

These trellises are great for allowing vegetables to grow and keep them off the ground. Fairly easy to use, but you have to place an anchor at the base of the screen to keep it from sliding and potentially bending the supports.
It holds quite a bit of load. Last season the trellises probably held 40-50 pounds of cucumbers at a time.
I liked them so much I bought 2 more for the 2011 season!

I bought this trellis with high hopes, but it has two things working against it: it's too small for cucumber vines, and when it's set out it hangs well over a Gardeners Supply grow bed. My cucumbers quickly overran the trellis, plus its legs/supports got in the way in the garden path. I've since decided that self-made A-frame pvc frame trellises are much more space and cost-effective.

This trellis now comes in two sizes. The first one was too large for my needs, but this is perfect for my garden. There's flexability in the angle in which it's set up and does leave room to plant vegetables underneath. Great space saver, too.
