    I have never ordered any type of veggies on line,I have ordered flowers on line, but never veggies, these asparagus plants had VERY established root systems so i am very optomistic that in the next 2-3 years we will be picking aspargus from our own back yard, thanks for a great product once again !

    These crowns came up so fast it was amazing. This is their first year. I didn't know much about asparagus, they ended up taking up an entire grow bed which I was not counting on, but we'll see how they do next year overwintering and when we finally get to harvest them.     Asparagus roots arrived a little early for my 5,000 ft elevation but stored well. The planting instructions were excellent and the plants are beginning to grow well.     I planted these one Saturday and they were a foot tall by the next weekend! I hope they do well down here in the heat and humidity, although our winters are getting colder. Twenty-five plants is a lot, so I shared them with another gardner. They do need watering EVERY day. I missed one day and one plant died (it might be still alive underground however.) Can't wait for next spring when we'll be able to harvest a few.

    The roots I received were huge, and very healthy looking. It was about 75 degrees when I planted them, but a week later when they had sprouted to about four inches tall and I had filled the trench for the first time, it snowed about four inches, and the temp hovered around freezing for several days. Typical Northern Michigan weather. Once it warmed up a little again, those plants EXPLODED! Every single one has come up, and most are about three feet tall. All this in about four weeks! I have recommended these plants to every gardener I know!

    These asparagus crowns were quite impressive. I ordered 50 crowns thinking that, like everywhere else, half of the crowns would be puny and dehydrated. Not the case! Needless to say, I had way more than I needed. I am glad I held out from my local garden supply stores and mail ordered from Gardeners Supply. If you are looking for asparagus, look no further.

    The only real down side is that you have to plant these guys right away. I planted about half of crowns during the first week after I received them, and those plants are going strong. I'm not quite sure how the crowns I waited to plant are going to fair, but if I were to do it again, I'd play it safe and plant them all immediately.

    We could not believe after planting the Asparagus that only after 2 weeks, they are about a foot tall!     Easy to follow instructions. I was surprised it recommended waiting until it started growing to put compost/manure on. All of the books I have read said to put the compost in the trench first, but I followed the instructions it came with, and so far so good. About 65% have sprouted already and are still going strong.     The roots took off quickly. All of them were healthly, although I wished they were all uniformly large roots. Some of my roots (about 40%) are rather small, resulting in rather thin and scrawny
    ferns. I have yet to see if this will affect the size of the asparagus come harvest year. I just planted them this spring upon receiving the roots.

    I purchased 25 asparagus roots and proceeded to dig 25 deep holes in a section of our back yard (no room for a trench). Despite spacing planting over a couple weeks, every one of the roots survived and sprouted, and we gradually added compost to each one to foster growth. We are now letting the stalks go to seed this year as recommended. We're looking forward to ample asparagus in years to come. After hearing from friends that asparagus purchased elsewhere did not sprout, I would definitely recommend Gardener's Supply!

    unfortunately, it takes 3 years for asparagus to mature. 25 was enough for my 2-person household that i had enough to share with a relative. i established it for my cousin and she is thrilled! the first year's growth is very successful. can't wait to taste it!
