Comments about Columnar Apples, 2 Trees:

Based on previous reviews, we were so excited to plant these. They arrived looking extremely healthy and we followed the planting instructions. One the trees took off with healthy bud growth and lush leaves, the other one did nothing. We watched and waited for the other apple tree to do something, but on further inspection we noticed that it was just a dead stick. The other apple tree with leaves was suddenly attacked by pests that ate all of the leaves, despite the pesticide that we sprayed on them. I guess I'll just go to a home improvement store and buy a cheaper bigger apple tree.

Comments about Columnar Apples, 2 Trees:

So far , they have lost their leaves as expected. I have them in medium pots, not sure when or if I'll need to move them to larger pots. They are sitting outside in my 10 sq. ft. bark covered area now. They will get rain this winter, but if it is dry for a long time, should I water them? If I need to move them, I have a dolly, but will have to go up about 10 steps to my deck, for they may be too heavy for me to carry. Any suggestions on pot size per plant height?

Comments about Columnar Apples, 2 Trees:

the trees arrived carefully packed in planting medium and looking healthy. I planted them carefully, and have been watering them deeply, at first every couple of days and now once a week as fall sets in. They are wonderful looking on sturdy little trunks and I'm very excited to see what spring brings.

Comments about Columnar Apples, 2 Trees:

I have great expectations for these trees. Of course it's too early to rate the apples, because I just got the trees, but if they are like the other items I have purchased from Gardener's Supply, I have no doubt that they will provide years of beauty and sustenance. Thank you for providing wonderful, useful products for gardeners of all skill levels!

I was so impressed with the packaging. I was expecting bareroots in plastic bages. I received a box that had the two trees in containers with moist soil. I just had to dig my holes and plant them. A month later they are still doing great.

I bought the apple trees this spring, and I use them as part of patio decoration. All the guests were amazed by how little room they occupy and by how beautifully they have grown. There were several flowers although they did not bear any apples. Since they look healthy, I look forward to having some fruit next year.

Comments about Columnar Apples, 2 Trees:

I have 2 Columnar Apple Trees on my patio for 5 years, growing apples (3 years). Look just as pictured. They are about 8' to 10' high now. Even if they did not grow any apples, they look so neat and decorative that I love them. Bonus: have no branches to shade the other flowers and vegetables growing. Have them in large pots, so you have to water them almost every day, but they can be moved easily. In ground, would not need so much care. In winter, I move them to a sheltered corner, cover with leaves, water occasionally until snow comes, so they don't dry out. Once snow covers them, need no care until springtime (snow melts). Purchased 2 more this year and now my patio looks like an English Garden, portable too. Really enjoy them. Apples are great!
