we plant about 200 trees a year on our hunting property in Michigans thumb. variety of soil from clay to sand to sandy loam to loam. we live over an hour away and do not have the luxury of frequent waterings. would not consider planting without terasorb!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
used the product for the first time to help plants on my porch survive summer sun. Hasn't really been put to the test yet, but am looking forward to success. Will keep posted.

Comments about Terra-Sorb:
My husband re-seeded areas of our lawn with one of those "all inclusive" seeding products, and little to nothing happened. I re-seeded the same areas 2-3 months later using the same seedng product, but I added TerraSorb crystals. We now have a beautiful thick lawn, and I'm tempted to sprinkle TerraSorb all over the yard except that it gets VERY slippery unless you put topsoil on top of it.
I have several above ground upside-down and right side up planters with veggies in them. The first year I had to water them twice a day (they're black and dry out VERY easily). Last year I put TerraSorb in the soil and watered them every other day. This year I put TerraSorb in the soil AND I used it as "mulch" over the top. I don't expect to have to water more than once in four days during the dry season.
The instructions online say to use the crystals DRY. I've found it's easier if you're planting to rehydrate them first, so you know how much space they'll take up wet. If you sprinkle them into your soil dry, it's easier BUT you can very easily use too much and when it rehydrates it can push your plants right our of the ground or overflow the container.
We planted trees in our local dog park last fall; a professional landscaper planted the large dog side, my husband and I planted the small dog side, using TerraSorb in the holes and around the trees. Our trees are doing at least as well as the professional ones, and they're able to grow faster because they're not water-stressed.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
So far I've had to water just as frequently. I haven't really noticed a difference, but maybe when the weather starts to become hotter it will pay off.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
This product makes growing plants in pots outdoors much easier in our hot summers. If I miss a day watering, my plants are not wilted and sad! Don't put too much in the pot while in its dry state, or your dirt will overflow.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Going away for a week is no longer as stressful worring about someone coming to water the plants.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I used this product in my vegetable garden where there is no sprinkler system.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Live in a dry climate and it holds the water well.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
To me, this stuff works great. However, I'm no expert, so I don't know if I'm using it correctly. I mixed about a quarter cup in the container where I planted two tomatoes. About three days later we experienced a record breaking rain. These pellets swelled so big that they came to the surface, but didn't dislodge my plants. Future proper watering have not produced similar results, so I think I used the proper amount. My first experience was using them in my bamboo with nothing else but rocks and water; that has been successful, so I though I would try it in dirt.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I am using this product since the last 3 years and absolutely LOVE it. Not only is it great in hanging baskets and potting plants. I also use it in my raised beds and veggie garden. The crystals help with the water consumption and keep all your plants
evenly moist for a few days, depending your location. It makes a gardeners life so much easier.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
This is the second time I purchased Terra-Sorb because I use it on all of my gardening plantings. I can water less frequently and not worry about being away for a few days. All of the plants have flourished with Terra-sorb around their roots. Excellent product!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I live in a dry, high altitude, windy area and must water container gardens daily. This product holds the water so I don't have to water so often.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
This product is such a time and water saver! I live in a dry, high altitude area and must water container plants daily in the summer. This product helps hold the water so I don't have to water so often!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I mix Terra Sorb in all my planting mixes for both inside and out. Tennessee summers can be brutal and so can dry, indoor winter air. Now my plants do not need to go through the stress of either overly dry or overly wet soil. I LOVE this product!
My biology students love to watch this "hydrophilic polymer" absorb water before we mix the wiggling result into our potting mix... whether we are exploring seed propagation or vegetative propagation, it really helps regulate water availability!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
These crystals really work! I mixed them in in my self-watering windowboxes this year along with a potting soil with a wetting agent. I watered less than once a week compared to everyday for my traditional pots.
One weird note: I used the crystals in a self-watering container, which basically turns into a bucket out in the rain because there aren't drainage holes. I left the container in the rain after planting and the jelly-filled crystals all floated to the surface! After a few days I took all the soil out and replanted because I couldn't tell if I had put the crystals in the correct bottom third of the soil. Once the containers were out of the rain and being used with the self-watering reservoir it never happened again and seemed to reduce watering a lot.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Living in NM, it's hot and dry during the summer. Any product that helps to conserve water is well worth it. Terra-Sorb is easy to use and cuts down on the amount of hand-watering I need to do in the flower garden. I haven't yet tried this product on houseplants, but I'll bet it would work as well.

Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I have two beds, one on either side of a walkway in the front of my house. Last fall when I moved in, the left side was constantly soaked from rain, so I figured that side would be wet. I planted impatiens on both sides, but I only added the crystals to the ones on the right side. I don't particularly like actually working with the crystals, but with gloves, it is ok. It has been fairly dry this summer, since the flood, and I haven't been watering too much, so my wet prediction for that left bed hasn't come true. Those plants are so little and pitiful, while the plants with the terra-sorb crystals are big and beautiful. I used the crystals with my veggie plants, too. They are pretty happy also and I am watering maybe every other day. I only used a few crystals per plant, didn't mix it in with the soil, but it seems to have been enough. I didn't think I'd know if it was really working, but my experiment has me convinced it does!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
This product is a gardener's best friend. Very easy to use and it protects the plants very well against tough, dry conditions.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I have trouble with raised beds drying out quickly. I discovered these after planting this season and added them around plants that were already established (both in vegetable beds and pots). I notice that even though the soil looks dry on top, I can reach down in where the crystals are, and the soil is moist. Before, the raised beds dried out much deeper. I also added some in with annual flowers that aren't as deep-rooted as perennials.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I've used this product for years. Spring of 2008, we used this when transplanting our fruit trees. It was the first summer the trees didn't look stressed and we didn't lose any trees in the winter because the soil was sufficiently moist.
I use this in my planters and the big vegetable garden.
One thing I would recommend is that you hydrate the crystals before you put put them in the soil. This way they will have fully expanded and the plants won't push up.
This product has cut my watering down to once a week. Very helpful when you have well water, another bonus is since I don't have to water everyday my electric bill is staying manageable.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I wanted an affordable way to cut down my watering labor for my container garden in the summer....and I found it in this product! Where I used to have to water every day or every other day, now I water once or twice a week! I really appreciate how this has made my garden easier to maintain for me.

easy to use, saves time and water
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I'd used these years ago in all my houseplants but hadn't been able to find them. They are great in potted plants to slowly release water and I'm also trying a few in my raised beds.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
This is the best stuff on earth! I have 8 pots outside that I have mixed this in with the soil. As well as Osmacote(sp). I have them all in full sun and have only added water 3 times in a 3 week period. I also have 6 self watering pots/window boxes and this is not needed in those. Terra-Sorb is great stuff! I have already suggested this to 3 people.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Addit ti my own soil mixture
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I used it to plant trees, bushes, outdoor flower pots. I will also use it to seed areas for grass.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I was actually shocked at how much these crystals expanded/absorbed. With just a small amount added to potted plants, potatoe bags, and vegetable gardens, I need to water much less frequently, which is truly a Blessing in our dry Colorado climate.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Great use for potted plants outside, not having to water them every day - can go about 3-4 days before watering thoroughly.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I used a similar product and ran out two years ago and couldn't find it again. I am so excited to use it again in my baskets.

Living in South Carolina I was looking for something to extend my watering some (especially) in my haning baskets that are lined with cocus liners. This product has really seemed to do the trick.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I just purchased a new home but have not moved there fulltime. As I transplant my favorite plants from old house (PA) to new (VA), I had to find a way to keep them watered for a week at a time. These terra-sorb crystals work fantastically. All of the transplants are thriving being watered well just once a week.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I travel and terra-sorb has saved many a basket!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Would not be without this product. I usually expand this product and then add to my soil. Do not have to water everyday. You won't be disappointed. I buy the large container and it has lasted me 2 seasons and had enough to share with friends as well.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Just added this in to my garden this year to help when the weather heats up here in Southern GA. When I watered the soil before planting, I could see how big the crystals grew from just a light watering! Can't wait to see how well everything grows this year!

Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I use this product in my raised bed vegetable gardening. I have used it for many years now and have never been disappointed. It cuts water use and extends the time between watering with no ill effects.
I would suggest that it is used as directed and mixed well with the soil to avoid over concentrating. I have had the crystals expand with water and push plants out of the ground if not mixed properly or if too much is used.
It's amazing how much water each crystal can absorb.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
We use this in all areas of our garden. Including
our grape vines that have been been put down this spring

Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I tried this product on my outside flower pots that are under my carport. I am very happy with the results. I didn't have to deep water every other day on my flowers. The product does what it says.........I am now able to water the plants every week...if not sufficient rainfall. I also have a water meter that I consult weekly for all my plants. Next spring, I can't wait to use this product on my fern beds and flower garden under the trees.......the trees steal any moisture they get their roots onto. Great Product.

Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I tried this product in my planters. The plants thrived so much so that I only water the planters once a week (or not at all with sufficient rainfall). I will now incorporate this product into my flower beds that lack sufficient water (under trees that take water away from my shade loving plants). I strongly recommend this product to everyone. Your plants will thank you for it.

Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I use Terra-sorb when I plant outdoor plants. It allows me to water less frequently and helps new transplants survive. I've also used it in all my hanging pots & on indoor plants that require moist soil. Great product!

I'd do a test pot to get a feel of just how much to use. Put dirt and the crystals, water then next day dump out to see if you used too much. If you did add more dirt or less crystals
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I use Terra-Sorb in all my containers, saving me from watering the plants everyday and helping me conserve water.

Comments about Terra-Sorb:
This is great stuff [...]use it when I am planting & just mix in the crystals with the soil. This is good for flowers, trees, & bushes. I have an area around my house where the gutters weren't catching all the rain water & in heavy rains, the water would seep into my cellar. I worked a whole jar into the soil next to my house & this little trick worked. I will have to replace it in 4-5 years as the Terra Sorb breaks down. However, it was a relatively inexpensive fix to a problem & a fix I could do by myself. Hiring a contractor would have been horribly expensive. Every gardener should try this product.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
In our porous soil, plants remain evenly watered for longer periods of time. They remain healthier, less stressed - and saves time & water.

Comments about Terra-Sorb:
This is the second jar I have ordered. It goes a LONG WAY. Do not use much. Tolerates being in the frozen ground and pots over the winter. Come Spring it was all reusable. Really helps when you go out of town for a few days.

Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I especially love that I don't have to worry so much about my plants drying out when I go away for a few days, or in the winter, after I have brought them in, I don't have to be worried that if I miss a few days checking them out in my basement, I won't suddenly find dead dried-out plants.

Comments about Terra-Sorb:
This is wonderful in potted plants and baskets. I also use it in the garden for large plants such as tomatoes. It lasts for years, so you get you money's worth. Just save the potting soil and reuse.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Works great, helps when I forget I need to water in these hot Iowa summers.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I use this product in my phalenopsis orchids and it works wonderfully. The granules keep them damp and comfortable not to wet. They are growing beautifully. They started blooming in february and are still blooming in mid june.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I use this in an outdoor planter and after a rain storm, absorbed too much water and flooded plant. Probably best used in house planters. I even used less than the amount that was needed and it absorbed way too much water. Great idea, but would use it in house planter or remember to take outdoor planter inside if possible.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
If possible, a dispenser spout that seals so I don't have to open the whole container.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I mixed some of the crystals into my Gardner's Revolution upside down tomato planter... and then sprinkled a layer between the water reservoir and the soil, with the watering strip lying on it. My plants are ecstatic. My next trial will be with the watering spikes... If I fill the spike with crystals, will it hold the water and only release it slowly to the plant? Time will tell... and I'll tell you when I find out!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I tested the granules in a cup of water . . .watching them absorb water and expand. It was well over a week before they dried out!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Things dry out fast in Texas during the summer. I've started adding these water crystals to just about everything I plant in pots or the ground and it really seems to help. A bit of advice, be sure to put the water crystals low in the pot or when they hydrate they will pop up to the top of the soil. Also, don't put too close to the roots or they will rot. For heavy water users in pots or hanging baskets I think the hydro mats are a little bit better. However, all in all, the crystals are an excellent product. I don't start the season without them.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
This does a wonderful job holding water without the pot getting too wet. However use with "fluffy potting soil" (with perlite). I made the mistake of buying the miracle grow soil and its very heavy. It seems to affect the absorption of water by the gel (or perhaps it keeps too much of the water in the soil to start with). I have also used it flower beds. South Carolina sun can be brutal on a flower bed, and the terra-sorb helps maintain moisture. In a bed you would normally water every day, you can go 2-4 days depending on the plants and how much terra sorb you added.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Mix it in the soil before planting. A little goes a long way!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Expands much larger than I realized.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I use it in all pots and have added it to soil in dry areas of my flower beds. I find it really does decrease the watering requirements of the pots and treated areas. However, you must not over use--follow recommended amounts carefully as if you over use, then you end up with too much moister in an area with subsequent root damage. Also, you must be sure the granulas are added deep into the pot or at least 6 inches in soil, as when the granulas become wet, will be on surface with potential subsequent damamge to root system and ineffective conservation of moisture.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
really does help conserve water and allows less chance of drying out on those hot summer days
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I can be a little more flexable in my watering schedule, and not be worried about my baskets drying up.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I love this stuff! After planting new plants we always have to keep things watered for awhile and also much throughout the hot summer. After planting this Spring and giving an initial thorough watering I rarely have had to water, never at all to ground plantings and rarely to my pots. What a water and time saver!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Great stuff!!! Wonderful to use on all your plants, does not break down and leave salt residue that harms your plants and your precious pots & containers over time. Especially helpful for those pots or window boxes that are awkward to water. Has cut my daily watering chores in 1/2. Saving me both time and $$$.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I live in the dry rocky mountains and anything that keeps a little moisture in my pots and hanging baskets is a great thing. Much better than buying the premixed soils with this kind of product added. I'd rather be able to use my own potting mix and use Terra sorb.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I learned about this product about 35 years ago, only it was called something else. It is a great product for water conservation. I used a compost tumbler to mix with garden soil before using in a new raised garden.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Love to mix this product in my soil, before planting . It helps keep the water longer in the soil, for my plants. Never worry about my plants drying out! I also use some in my potted plants, that I give to my friends in the hospital, helps keep them looking healthy, and fresh!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
THIS PRODUCT IS WONDERFUL AND ORGANIC. I ONLY HAVE TO WATER MY HOUSE PLANTS EVERY 3 WEEKS. I PURCHASED THE 1# CONTAINER TO USE ON MY OUTSIDE CONTAINER POTS THIS YEAR.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I have used outside in pots and vegetable garden
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
This seems to work best over the long run. I used it on all my new plantings, but if the plantings were weak to begin with, the crystals didn't work. Otherwise, all my other plantings look great.

Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I do mostly containers and like to trave also in the summer, so this is the best stuff. It will keep the plants moist and I have to water less. We have a summer home and are there only on weekend so I use this product and I only have to water once a week while we are there. Must be carefull and follow the instruction or your dirt will spill out if it rains and your plants don't need watering. So follow instructions. I recommend it to all of my friends.

Comments about Terra-Sorb:
You don't have to use much of these crystals in your pots as they absorb so much water. Saves me watering time. Also put in my garden beds as it tends to be dry in the summer here.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I have 2 window boxes on the south side of my house, because I live next to a parking lot my plants get baked. This is a phenomenal product to put in the soil. I also use it in all hanging baskets. Because of terra sorb I don't have to water daily. I can wait 2 - 3 days weather dependent of course. I live in Michigan so anything can happen and usually does. I have found that my hibiscus do not do well with it but that is the only thing that doesn't like it.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Keeps moisture in the soil during dry periods.

Comments about Terra-Sorb:

Comments about Terra-Sorb:
This product will have to prove its worth over time, but comparing the new plants with terra-sorb and those without....the ones with it are having much steadier growth with less need for watering.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I use Terra-Sorb in my veggie garden and in all of my potted plants - indoors and out. Since I live in Hot Humid Arizona, this product has certainly proved it's worth. It saves water so well that I don't have to water as often. It's easy to use and does what it's supposed to do! I love it.
Not so great?? - at first I used too much and my potted plants literally swelled out of their pots! Use a little in pots - it goes a long way.

Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Adding the crystals when potting plants or placing plants in the bed gives them an extra boost against transplant stress. Remember a small amount goes a long way, use only 2 T (in a 10" pot) scattered just under the root zone, cover with a little soil, water well and then plant. The soil and crystals must be wet before planting so that the crystals can absorb maximum water at the start. The crystals will release moisture to the plant as needed at the root zone. Don't let the plant completly dry out you can wick water (from a saucer) on pot plants or use a drip system on the yard plants. This is a water and time saver for all gardeners!

Comments about Terra-Sorb:
This produst does help keep plants moist especially during dry seasons. Cuts the watering in most situations. The only thing I have found is to use less, not more of this product or it will lift out of the planters and pots. It works best if it is under the soil.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Helps my window boxes from drying out. Much less watering.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:

Comments about Terra-Sorb:
This product distributes easily, but MUST be worked VERY DEEP into the soil. I put it on our lawn and vegetable garden and worked it into only the top 4" of soil. After the first rain, the granuals swelled & worked themselves out of the soil. I spent the next 2 days raking and shoveling the "slimy" goo up. Product should be perfect for containers, but DON'T use it unless you can bury it 8-10" deep.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I live in a dessert area, so I need all the help I can get to preserve water in my garden. This is a very helpful way to keep my plants hydrated.

Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I own a working farm (120 acres). In order to take part in various USDA programs, a farm must have a conservation plan on file with the USDA. Part of my plan is to reforest the gullies that flow to a class 1 trout stream that were created by poor farming practices of the past. Every year I plant 1,500 DNR raised trees (average size 12-24"). There is no way that I could even think of watering them. So with each hole I make with my tree planting spud, I add a pinch of Terra-Sorb. Seems to work for me, I have a pretty good survival rate.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I used this product in my hanging planters last season, and will use it again this season. In AZ, the most difficult part of growing anything is keeping it moist enough. This product really works GREAT!
Currently, I am starting tomato seeds for this year's hanging planters and I've used it here too. So far, it is working amazingly well. My seeds are beginning to sprout and will be planted before the new year!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I use the Terra-Sorb in the garden outside when I put the plants in the ground and around others that are already established to save on water and the time that it takes to water.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I live in the south and summers can be brutal for outdoor plants. There is little rain in the hottest months, and plants can easily get stressed without help.
Terra-Sorb is a great help in keeping the moisture content of the plants at a more consistent level. Also, I don't have to water as often, which is a great time-saver for me.

Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Since I forget to water my houseplants, I thought this might help save the poor things. My white ginger plants are doing great after inserting this product into the soil with a probe. When you have plants that need daily watering & forget to do it or have many plants, this saves you time as well as the plants. Worth the price & goes a long way.

We use this produlct in our potted plants for resale andit definitely holds noistrue well Saves on watering every day. So far we have no negative comments about Terra Sorb.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
After suffering last year's drought, I'm looking for products that help plants use the water I give them. I don't believe in irrigation and plants in my garden have to prove themselves without too much attention from me. That's why I love TERRA-SORB. I use it when I'm planting a new addition. Just be sure to follow the simple directions on the label! If you're like me you think if one teaspoon is good, 4 teaspoons is better! WRONG. Use it like the instructions say. It doesn't take alot, and if you use too much, the stuff holds so much water it will bubble up from the ground!
IT WORKS! It really does, and it's unbelievable to me. I've spent a fortune on those bags of potting mixes that say they "control moisture". Now, I can get anykind of soil I want, even what is in my yard, and mix it with Terra-Sorb and you have the same effect as the high priced bagged soils. Just mix it with the soil in the bottom of the hole or planting pot and water well. It is truly amazing how much water it holds. And it just keeps it there, like a little mini-bar for your plant's roots when they get thirsty. It's water on demand. I can't wait to use this for my seed starting, you know, for those that say "never allow to dry out"....
Make the most of your watering efforts! Use Terra-Sorb. I'm sure glad I did!
Go ahead and order the big jug! You'll need it and it will save you money.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:

Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Great for minimizing transplant shock and for those times you can't water daily. I would love to see this product in a shake-style can with handle (like another brand I've used) so it's easier to use when wearing gloves. Also, I'm starting to believe that some plants need more crystals than others since some plants are wilting faster even though they had the same amount of crystals placed. Or maybe it just depends on the size of the plant. Either way, I try not plant anything without incorporating some crystals first. A must for containers!!!!

okay you NEED to read and follow direction on this one, but that is okay they are easy to follow. add to soil and mix, use a small amount (that is the part that needs to be read and followed)
it does work great, but if you over add you get a mound of the stuff spewing forth from your plants. it's best to use when acutally planting not after but you can mix it in after if you have to.

Greatly reduced the need to drag out the hose!!

So, how big could the crystals really get, right? The directions say use only a few crystals. So just for fun, I put a few crystals, maybe 1/4 of the scoop that comes in the container, into a 10-oz drinking glass and added some water. I filled the glass with water, and these few crystals held ALL of it - and probably would have held more! I'm so glad I did my little experiment before I used them in actual plants, because I would have used too many. I recommend trying this yourself, because you won't believe it until you see it! I can't wait to give some to my parents for their outdoor hanging baskets - the water just flows right through the fiber baskets and I think these will do the trick! Thank you so much!

I added Terra-Sorb to the soil I use in the flower pots on my porch. I don't have to water as often or worry about the soil drying out when I am away.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Very helpful with our drought conditions. I don't have to water my out door pots so often and it is helpful keeping transplants to the garden moist until they develop a good root system. However, read the directions and don't use too much. In a pot too many gradules will swell and push the soil and sometimes the plant right out of the pot. In the garden it looks like someone dumped clear jello around your plants.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I've added it to all my soil mixes! We've had a long dry spell and my plants are doing great with fewer waterings than I'd expect. I'm using it in my houseplant soil mix, too.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I have a container garden on my balcony and i have taken to adding these crystals to all my pots. they give you only one or two days extra between waterings but on a hot day or when i'm on vacation they may be the difference between coming home to a sad looking plant and a dead plant.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Before the last two years, I don't know how I got thru a summer without terra-sorb. Now so many of my friends and family members also use it and love it, even in upstate NY where we do get some rain! It provides an even supply of moisture to plants and keeps them healthy on some very hot days; tides the cemetary urns over until you can get out to water them, so they are not dry and straggley by mid-summer; and makes such a difference now all my neighbors wonder how my flowers look so great with my often long hospital hours.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I did use this product and I do love it! I put a teaspoon in my plant hangers and the plants do hold up if i forget to water them. I did order more for next year! AS it gets very muggy and hot here in Maine!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Terra-Sorb allows me to continue to have a lovely garden and use water responsibly. It is The Product for gardening in this age of global warming and climate change.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
It seems to help with giving the plant water while I am away, but some of the product comes out of the dirt and acutally lands on the deck where the plants are placed. It gets a little messy at times. I tried to follow precisely the directions that are printed on the container.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I use this for planting trees to starting my seeds. Hold moisture for a very long time and is very eco friendly. Also prevents water run off. Essential for the avid gardener. Save on your water and save your plants by watering less. This product is a sure thing!!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
The ideal use for this is to mix in with soil when planting but I have also used it successfully in established pots by digging small holes and dropping a few granules in.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Just like the product claims, mix with soil, add water and sit back! Simply amazing. Saves huge amounts of time for hot weather or windy climate dwellers. I am completely hooked.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Mix this magical stuff into your potting soil, and it will hold little pockets of moisture for your plant's roots to access. Especially useful for hanging pots that are hard to water, or plants like impatiens that seem to need water more than once a day when the temperatures are high.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Add to soil ammendment any time I plant any purchased plants
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
a little goes a long way
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
It really cuts down on the watering. I have a LARGE amount of containers, both outdoors and indoors. They are all glad recipients of this great product that keeps them uniformly watered without over-water or dry-out. It is a wonderful time saver since I don't have to water as often and the plants love it. I have recommended it to numerous gardening friends.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Use on all your indoor & outdoor plants, either
when you're repotting or just mix in soil.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
the terra-sorb has saved many of my indoor and outdoor plants. it is especially useful for when i go away on vacation or for a few days out of state. i give my plants a good watering and the terra-sorb keeps them happy for days. also, i have foud it tremendously helpful with windows boxes i have affixed to my fence. one side gets baking sun and those plants used to need a few waterings a day. i added the terra-sorb to those and i do not need to water them as frequently and like my house plants, i can leave for a few days nad they are fine. overall, love it!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I've used these crystals for over 20 years. They save plants from the draught/flood cycles that watering creates. I have usually used them for house plants but I live in an area that is just a little too hot and dry for fuchsia and my friends think mine are happy because of a magic green thumb. I tell them about the crystals but don't seem to believe it is that easy. It really is that easy.
They are also great for rooting cuttings.
It means you can water your house plants 1-2 times a week instead of every day or two.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I have used this product for years. It really helps keep containers moist. A little goes a long ways.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
This product cuts watering needs tremendously. My container herbs can survive my long weekends away.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Early in the season I only had to water my containers every 4 or 5 days. I did not use it in my veggie pots because as far as I know its effects on food have not been tested
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
IT'S A WONDERFUL PRODUCT FOR ALL PLANTS INDOOR AND OUTDOOR. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I don't know if I used too much or what, but while it seemed to reduce the need for watering, it really swells the dirt and the plants didn't seem to like that.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I love this product. It cut down on your watering.
I only have to water once a week. My flowers are in pots, because of the rock and clay.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
This product is a great time saver. I really do water less frequently.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
This season I potted about 40 containers in my Brooklyn back yard. Terra-Sorb was easy to mix into the soil and appears to have done a good job. I bought one container and for the 40 pots have only used about half of it. Judging by the dampness of the soil and compared to last year, I think I could get away with watering every other day or every third day with this. However, I generally give the plants at least a little water every day. I think after 2-3 months, the Terra-Sorb has about entirely decomposed.
The bottom line is that Terra-Sorb can't hurt. That is, unless you are going 100% organic. Then it would be a no-no.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I have only used the product for about a week, but appears to be a great product...would definately recommend to a friend.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
need to make sure its not on the surface where it can wash away
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I have been using this for many years and couldn't do without it. I work it into the soil of my gardens each year and include it in all my outdoor potted plants. I think it is great that the plants can go a longer time without being watered, saving both water and time.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Add a pinch at planting time to your windowboxes and they will rarely need attention.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Directions are clear and product is easy to use.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I was amazed at how much water these crystals absorb. 8 tbsp will absorb almost 5 gallons of water. I have used these crystals extensively in my gardens that have no shade and are exposed to the blistering FL. sun. I have also used them in potted plants that like alot of water such as new guinea impatients. These crystals have made it possible for me to water less frequently and still have beautiful plants (not wilted, drooping ones). One pound will go a long way.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
This is a great product but be sure you read the directions. Don't use too much. A little goes a long way.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Living in the city, doesn't give much room to plant. But I manage to have about 35 plants. So I need all the help I can conserve, particularly water! My plants requre less watering, and they bloom to their very best!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
The Terra-Sorb product is working great. It seems to work best in hanging pots, but I also have it in each pot (flower or vegetable) on my deck. I would be careful of the amount you add to the soil as with the more water the product absorbs, it could pop your plant out if you added too much product!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I've used this for years in all my outdoor planters and in all plants that I bring into my greenhouse for the winter (eliminates constant watering). Keeps plants healthier, since I usually neglect them. Very easy to use.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
A few sprinkles of this wonderful product holds a lot of water. Really helps my plants out in this dry climate.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I love that I don't have to water as frequently. It is great to go away for a few days and not worry that my plants will die from lack of water.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Keeps my plants from wilting in the summer heat.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
My outdoors plants usually suffer in the midsummer heat unless I water every day. Now with Terra Sorb, I water less often. This not only conserves water but my time as well!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I mixed the Terra-Sorb with my dirt before potting my summer plants. Now I only need to water 2-3 times per week instead of every day. This really helps when you have over 40 pots to water!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
We have been in stage 3 drought for the past year. In June, our temps hit 98F to 102F. We have to conserve every drop and recycle water every way possible. I have 2 larger cocoa-fiber lined planter stands in the baking sun in front of our windows. With no water resevoir, I would have to water these twice daily. Since adding these crystals, I can instead pour in a dish pan of recycled dish water twice a week and the plants flourish! Amazing!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Last year my potted plants died because of the excessive heat and drying out. This year everything looks good because I added it to the soil. I can skip 1 or 2 days of watering!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
I wish everything was so practical and useful. we used it on an area where we planted grass and that area is always very green compared to the rest.
Very useful when planting perennials as well. Read the directions carefully as my husband used WAY too much at first and it was like walking around on piles of jello! also, do not lazily throw it about on top of the lawn as i did with a little extra i had in the bottom of the jar--insta slippy-slide.
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
This is the product that helped several of my new plantings survive the summer!
Comments about Terra-Sorb:
Started adding to each new pot on the deck and trying to sprinkle into those more established. Expensive, container should have a spout or way to shake a teaspoon out at a time! Works exactly as promoted
