The original was sturdy with a classy elegant design. This hose butler is far too short to coil one hundred feet of hose. The silver assembly screws do not match the black hose butler. It does not look any better than a cheaper model which can be purchased at a big box store.

This is great for getting the hose off the ground to avoid collecting debris, dead leaves or providing a hiding place for pests. No hole-drilling in the outside wall of the house is required, just stable soil. Well-made in the USA.

This one is a default buy for me. I have one that I would classify as deluxe, and this one is not deluxe. That one has a separate little hose that goes to the house connector and a valve that connects to the longer hose. Metal is thinner on this than the other one. I was looking for ways to save my back when I water. I am tired of those hose reels - and I have had many different kinds. I find that some models, the hose gets tangled.
I also find that bending to crank up the hose is hard on my back. I had back surgery and am not able to squat well.
I put this hose holder in a part of a bed that is waist high, since there is a retaining wall. I just put it in the soil. Now, I can wind the hose up using my arms, and don't need to bend or squat. This is just a much easier system.
It is convenient and can be easily moved.

This product is superior to most- well made, sturdy, and won't flex or bend under the weight of a heavy hose. The bottom legs are long enough to support it when pushed into the ground. Getting to our hose caddy that was secured to the house was getting too difficult now that the shrubs are larger. I was breaking branches every time I yanked the hose from the caddy. So this hose hanger, or "butler" was a great solution. I placed it in front of one of the shrubs and no longer had to do a balancing,contorted dance to get to the hose. This one is sturdy. I purchased one at a discount store several years ago and it could not stand the weight of the hose and toppled over.
Design is simple. No rust visible after spring and summer here by the sea. I may coat it with sealer just to make sure the flat black paint stays handsome. I thought the price was right. Cheaper ones are available but the construction is usually very poor with weak points at the welding joints and the prongs are not long enough to support the weight of a large garden hose. This hose butler would make a nice gift.

I am so pleased with the quality of this hose keeper. It's not at all flimsy--very sturdy and sits solidly in the ground. We have very sandy soil here in SC, and most metal poles shoved into the ground tend to wobble around, but this hose keeper stands firm. I have 100' of heavy rubber hose looped on it, and it could hold twice that. It's also unobtrusive. My development does not permit those larger plastic hose reels to be left outside where they can be seen from the street. This holder is very good looking and easily can be hidden behind a shrub or tree. An excellent value--I think I'll have to order a second one come spring!

This is a nice way to store your hose. If you have an old house and so not want to have an ugly plastic eyesore holding up your hose this is a nice answer. It is vey pretty looking and compact. It is heavy duty also because when you turn off the hose and there is still some water in it this holds it up and does not bend or break.

It is also compact so you can put it in a corner or on the side of your house and it does not stick out.

The product is build very well, my concern was that it would not be strong enough to hold up the amount of hose that I had. But because of the material and it's structure it does an great job of holding the hose.

I had no room to hang/store a hose at the backyard hose bib. The hose used to just be loosely piled up and I kept tripping over it. This hose butler solved my problem - I stuck it in the ground about 4 ft. away, it crosses a path, and fits between two pavers. A great solution. I love it, and am going to get another one for the side yard hose. I do not like the hangers you have to attach to the house.
