Attractive, and feel/look durable. Only con: I have an unruly (read: not very flexible) hose, so occasionality, the hose flips up and gets caught on one of the branch nubs ... not a big deal. Overall I am quite pleased with them, as they've already saved a few border plants from an early demise due to near daily beatings they received before I made this purchase.

These hose guides look great on the corners of my garden and have protected my plants quite well. They are taller than most other hose guides and are both attractive and durable.

The instructions say to store them inside when not in use however I've left them out all summer without any problems. I will be taking them in for the winter.

Most hose guards either do not hold up to the stress of pulling a long hose past them, or look awful. I live in the country with a large yard and very long hoses (read stress on hose guards). An effective hose guard must be tall and sturdy, and these are the best I have found. The fact that they are great to look at is a wonderful plus. If they had longer spikes into the ground one could not place them during dry times. If they were any shorter, long hoses would skip over the top much of the time. These hose guards represent the best possible compromise between ability to install them, height, and asthetics. I have reordered 3 times for myself, and another time for a gift for my best friend. No other product comes close, and I have investigated!

These are delightful, whimsical and charming hose guides, but are also stout and strong! They always make me smile when I see them in my garden. We have very stony soil, so the only down side is that you CAN'T pound them in with a sledge hammer! My husband used a pick axe to open the holes, and we back-filled. They're not going anywhere! Time will tell how they withstand Catskill Mountain winters. Thank you for this lovely product!

These are the best hose guides I've found and reasonably priced. They are sturdy and stay where you put them, saving plants, planters and landscaping lights from being pulled over and broken by unruly garden hoses. I bought 3 more recently for a total of 6 now. They also add a great landing place for live birds - the cute little birds atop the guides fit right into the garden theme.

I just received these so I can't comment as to how well they weather. However, they are sturdy and a much more useful height than the shorter hose guides. The hose does not jump over these. I am thinking of ordering another set for the other side of the house.

Most hose guides are too short. As you move about your gardens watering the flowers hoses do not know to stay ground level. As the hose rides up this guide does the job. I have looked for a few years to find one that actually guides the hose around my flowers even as the hose rises. Buyer should know ahead of time that instructions say "store indoors when not in use." Also, would have liked cast iron, but description fails to say they are painted an ugly brown. I planned to use sticks as a hose guide, even reminded myself multiple times but they never seemed to make it into the garden. These birds just moved right in and are sitting there keeping those hoses away. I'm very pleased with them.

My hose guide is not only landscape attactive but it is an inocuous attraction. My development is very picky about lawn/garden ornaments. Bought this because it was neat. Set of three, one broken. (The metal sheared above hose guide, so product works but bird is gone. We put the bird in a hole on an angle of our hexagonal raised bed.) If you don't want the decorative bird attached or have loose soil it may work perfectly. One tap of a soft mallet and the bird came off. I may need more than one set for my home but tried lower hose guides and the hose slips right over them. I am dissappointed and hope it was a fluke.
