Bought three of these about 20 years ago.Have one left, and haven't been able to find anything comprable. Worth every penny.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Nice blue color, 3 gallons. won't fit in my kitchen sink, but saves some trips.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Just love this watering can, it does the job with just a flick of the wrist and a gentle spray envelopes my flowers. Such a great angle to the spout, how could it not be efficient?
Comments about French Watering Can:
collects rain water
water outdoor pots
water new seedlings
Comments about French Watering Can:
I first purchased this watering can over 15 years ago at a garage sale and have used it throughout spring, summer and fall. It probably would of lasted another 15 years had one of my six kids not smashed it in the garage with a minivan. I was frantic about locating another one after reading on the bottom it was made in France. Gardeners Supply is the only site that I could find this product. I really think this is my number one must have gardening tool.
Comments about French Watering Can:
The can is great but the sprinkler head leaks... very frustrating for a product with such great reviews.
Comments about French Watering Can:
This is a great big watering can and saves me trips when watering my flowers. The red one is really red!
Comments about French Watering Can:
I live in a high rise condo and there are no faucets on the balconies, so having this large size watering can really cuts down on the number of trips to fill up. Also, it's easy to remove the rose for getting under leaves when watering.
Comments about French Watering Can:
it's perfect...all of my 1 gallon wattering containers are now history.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Haven't yet found a watering can with a rose that will water my plants without a thick trickle at the bottom of the rose that can damage delicate seedlings. This one is better than the last one I had, but still has the same problem. At the same time, it's big, lightweight, sturdy, and has a comfortable handle that allows variable hand placement.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I use this product to water my outside plants.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I use it to water my potted plants and to feed my banana plants. I love it. It holds allot of water saves time.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I purchased this for my new square foot garden. Definitely not worth the money. I found one almost exactly alike at my local drug store for [$]!!!
Comments about French Watering Can:
This Product helps me carry the water to my planted flower.I'm in a motorized chair. this product is Great to use.
Comments about French Watering Can:
The watering can itself is well-balanced, has a good large capacity, and is weather resistant. Unfortunately the neck of the removable rose has split and I am afraid it's about to become unusable in its second summer. The watering can is still sturdy but it's about to lose its "shower head".
It would be great to be able to get replacement heads!!
Comments about French Watering Can:
When can is full, water pours out of top opening as well as sprinkling out of spout.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I use this for some potted plants. I mostly use it to feed my banana plants works out great. Its so big I donot have to keep filling it. It works like a watering can should. I bought one at a home supply store it never worked right. This is the best watering can I ever bought. I like the red color too, easy to find !
Comments about French Watering Can:
Can dip the cans into rain barrel.
Balanced for carrying and watering.
Comments about French Watering Can:
This is a nice can, it is a bit pricey and not as "classy" as a galvanized version, but it is still nice. Good color and the spray is just right. Nice capacity.

Comments about French Watering Can:
I wanted a watering can that was actually big enough. I'm experimenting with collecting water from showers and washing machine rinse water, since we have to pay quite a bit for water. I can fill up the watering can and take it right out to the garden. I actually have two of them, but I'm not sure if at 60 years old I can carry both at the same time! We'll see. I looked around for quite a while to find a watering can that I liked. The ones in the stores were not balanced correctly. This can pours evenly and has a comfortable handle. There is something about the spout drawing water from the bottom of the can, not from the top. In other words, it does not pour all over the place from the hole in the top while you are trying to water. It's also very sturdy. It's a world of difference from those cheaply made cans you usually have to choose from.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I can fill up and water two of my 3X3 beds in one trip. Even full, it is easy to handle, and showers my plants gently.

Comments about French Watering Can:
Love the color, bigger than I expected, hope I can carry that much water, love the idea of saving trips to the faucet, have not used it yet so I do not know if it leaks after you hit certain water level.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Perfect size. No close water, so I refill with 3-gallon bottles. Large florette gives wide, fast coverage.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I bought my favorite blue French watering can many years ago, maybe thirty years. Tough as it is, it got partly crushed and cracked under our recent record snowfall. Reluctantly, I ordered a new one, in red this time. As it was being shipped, the blue one popped back into shape: with some seem seal, it's as good as new. Now I carry both at once, and bring a lot of water in one easy trip.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Living in the desert I water my potted plants every other day. The watering can hold enough water so I do not need to fill it constantly. I find that the spout leaks which is very annoying. I love the long wrap around handle.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I have owned one of these for many years. Used it for diluting all sorts of gardening things, and using rain water/shower water. It's been left outside, banged around, etc., still in perfect condition. Only need to get the hang of tilting it just right to let the water sprinkle out, instead of chugging out. Until we find a watering system that actually works for us, this is how we water all the veggies, herbs, chickens, etc.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I love the look of it. I cannot use it until spring so am unable to comment.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Fantastic product! Large capacity tank is still easy to handle and flow is gentle on plants. Easy to clean removable rose, durable construction, couldn't be happier with it!
Comments about French Watering Can:
Use it to water and fertilize roses
Comments about French Watering Can:
Loved it. It's big enough to hold alot of water without running back to the faucet all the time. and the spout has a nice even flow without crushing whatever your watering.
Comments about French Watering Can:
The sprinkler head removes easily for more direct watering and then replaces easily and stays on tightly.
Comments about French Watering Can:
This is the second time we purchased the French Watering can and we love them! We particularly love the large size- no more going to the faucet 6 times to fill it. The spray is perfect- not too heavy and not too light and it is easy to control.
Comments about French Watering Can:
The size is wonderful. Saves time and lots of steps.
Comments about French Watering Can:
We had been looking for a watering container and had not been able to find one that was of the quality we were looking for. We use it for watering flowers that need more frequent watering than the lawn does.
Comments about French Watering Can:
this was what i was looking for something that would hold enough water and easy to handle
the spout is a great size and does not pound down on delicate plants
Comments about French Watering Can:
This is a great size and isn't too heavy, even when full.
Comments about French Watering Can:
This watering can exceeds all my stringent requirements!! It is a good selection for watering large beds while watering softly. Perfect for seedlings!
Comments about French Watering Can:
great for water barrel to plants
Comments about French Watering Can:
Although billed as three gallon capacity, this can is actually 13 liters; almost three-and-a-half gallons. Important to know when measuring fertilizer & such. I like it better than the costlier ten liter Dramm cans which always end up leaking. I'd give it five stars, but haven't had it for too long, so can't attest to it's durability. Seems very sturdy, though.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Bought as a Christmas gift and I am sure it will be well received!
Comments about French Watering Can:
we water our turnip greens and cabbage we have no rain for at least 7 weeks the waters cans comes in handy in dry weather
Comments about French Watering Can:
Seems high priced for a plastic watering can and it isn't at all attractive but the capacity is great and it handles amazingly well. [...]
Comments about French Watering Can:
ITS a little bit heavy for an 80 year old but I like to fillit to about 2 gallons when I use it . IT IS A SUBSTANTIAL AND USEFUL WATERER.
Comments about French Watering Can:
What a great watering can, enough room at the top to add fertilizer. Water volume is substantial - metal tip will not break, and a smooth handle. Overall great quality watering can.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Love this large capacity watering can! We dug up our lawn, and have vegetables, annuals and perennials mixed up in our sustainable landscaping. Before I got the French Watering Can, it was miserable work to mix up my compost tea and bring it out to the diffent beds. Now, it takes no time since the can is so big--saves trips and waters where I want it to go.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Never spills on me. Easy to carry. Has sprung no leaks in six years of use.

Comments about French Watering Can:
I USE IT TO FEED SPECIFIC FERTILIZERS AT CERTAIN INTERVALS,
Comments about French Watering Can:
A wonderful size and design, but the bottom seam eventually starts to come apart and leak. Tried various glues and caulks to patch, but none would adhere to the plastic very well. Time for a new one.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Best ever watering can. Have given as gift at Christmas and on other special occasions with either baked goodies or other things inside.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Beautiful and well-made watering cans! I ordered two so I could carry one in each hand and walk balanced. The plastic is heavier than I expected. Secure the nozzle/rose on spout well or it will come off when watering.
Comments about French Watering Can:
My husband & I both love using this product. Carries more water then the old ones we have. Can carry two to the field with ease, (I'm 4'11")
also can take off the sprinkler top to fill our rain barrels, when needed.
Comments about French Watering Can:
So far, I like this can. Holds a lot and comfortable to use. Can't give it 5 stars until we see how it lasts.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Really had not seen one like this so I sort of took a chance buying it. When it arrived I at first thought it was overpriced for its quality, but after using it this summer, I can honestly say it's well worth the price. Love the 3 gal size, and it's not too heavy because of it's design (I'm over 65). The spout pours the water gently over even delicate plants & flowers, doesn't leak like many others and the removable spout is quick & easy (just pull it off). I can see why it's a customer favorite.

Comments about French Watering Can:
Large capacity but still easy to carry and pour!
Comments about French Watering Can:
I like the 3 gallon capacity, less time spent going back and forth to the rain barrel. Due to the large "shower head" it is not efficient when watering smaller pots and containers, but great for the vegetable and flower beds.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Great replacement for the watering can the kid across the street broke! It hold plenty of water, sprinkles well, and I really like the blue color. I also like that I can (which I did anyway) purchase a replacement rose for it which is great if the kid across the street get ahold of this one too.
Comments about French Watering Can:
IT IS NICE TO HAVE AN AFFORDABLE 3 GALLON WATERING CAN , UNLIKE ALL THE OTHER INFERIOR ITEMS SOLD AT THE BIG STORES [...].EYC.THANK YOU GARDENERS SUPPLY
Comments about French Watering Can:
We use this in our Edible Schoolyard and this watering can is easy to use for children (when not filled fully) and adults. It has great capacity and is so cute!
Comments about French Watering Can:
I use two of these watering cans daily for watering multiple community garden adopt-a-spots. They make a tough job very easy to handle.
Comments about French Watering Can:
The best ever!!!!
Comments about French Watering Can:
We conserve water by using rain barrels. This watering can holds alot of water, but is easy to carry from place to place.
Comments about French Watering Can:
My garden is a distance from my water supply. The size and comfort of the handle allow me to make many fewer trips back and forth to the spigot.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Great for watering just about anything. I love it!!
Comments about French Watering Can:
Lightweight and easy to use.
Comments about French Watering Can:
difficult to use (too heavy) when filled to 3 gal capacity, quite durable, large nozzle comes off easily to empty can adequately
Comments about French Watering Can:
The large volume of water it holds really helps with less trips to the hose to fill up. Not ackward to hold. The red color is nice and bright so you can quickly see where you left it in the garden. So very happy with this purchase.
Comments about French Watering Can:
In sunny regions do NOT leave in the sun. Mine, though 15 years old, is disintegrating before my eyes.
Comments about French Watering Can:
It is large enough to hold around 3 gallons of water so I don't have to refill as often, but it is heavy at first if you fill it up. I use it to apply fertilizer. It is exactly what I wanted!
Comments about French Watering Can:
We've used these watering cans for over 10 years. They are the best balanced and easiest to carry and pour that I've ever found.. only downside is the more recent versions we've had to re-drill the holes on the rose or else the spout falls off from too much water pressure. They last a long time (no rust!) but do degrade if left in direct sun all the time. proper winter storage helps.

Comments about French Watering Can:
This is a nice watering can, well balanced, and does not slosh water everywhere.
Comments about French Watering Can:
When filled with water this watering can is much too heavy to carry around your garden.
Comments about French Watering Can:
The watering can could be used with the nozzle on or off for the kind of watering need for each plant. Off brings a gentle but full flow, on brings a gentle sprinkle. The need to refill is limited due to the size of the watering can. It may be heavy at first, but with handle makes it easy to pour. A great item!
Comments about French Watering Can:
Works well
Comments about French Watering Can:
We live on the farm my husband grew up on and have a large garden. He had wanted a watering can that had a removable spout so that you could rinse out the debris that would fall in as it is left outside by the pump well/garden. Our 2 boys (9 & 10) used the old watering can my husband had searched everywhere for (with removable spout - not yours) for a battle and it broke quickly. Thanks for your durable and useful product!!
Comments about French Watering Can:
Excited to get this watering can knowing I wouldn't have to make so many trips back and forth filling smaller buckets. My HUGE potted Trees and Plants enjoy the food mixtures that fit in this can and with the spout that fits on the end, the water doesn't "KILL" the delicate new sprouts coming up! It IS a little heavy when full though, didn't count on that. But it is worth the lesser amount of trips. Also, very durable when thrown over to the hose areas, saving further steps...
Comments about French Watering Can:
Reasonable price. Good for watering individual plants in the garden and for filling the bird bath. Quite heavy if filled more than halfway and water leaks out of the sprinkler head.
Comments about French Watering Can:
just what I needed to water the plants along the driveway, too far away for the hose.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I bought this watering can a a gift for my elderly father who has to carry water to his flower garden. He likes the fact that it holds a lot and is well balanced.

Comments about French Watering Can:
Watering tomato plants in large containers in the garden. Watering new potted plants around the house and deck before I get the drip system going.
Comments about French Watering Can:
This can makes carrying three gallons of water pretty easy. Saves trips back and forth to spigot. Only issue I have is trying to pinpoint stream of water.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Good size: large, but not unwieldy. Large hole for filling. Good balanced grip. Lightweight (when empty). Good deal and less expensive than the classic galvanized steel.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I bought this to water plants in a 3x6 galvanized raised bed with cold frame cover. It is beautifully balanced and easy to direct the water precisely where I want to, in this case into the corners that are more difficult to reach because I have to aim past the metal framework of the cold frame. The removable shower spout doesn't leak nor does it get blocked. The water flows evenly and smoothly from start to finish, and though it is a heavy load, its design and balance make it easy to carry and easy to tilt when watering. I can't imagine being without it and now use it to spot water flowers and vegetables in the large garden.

Comments about French Watering Can:
This item will save a lot of steps for you as it holds a lot of water. Since I am fairly strong, I can manage the container full of water. However, if you can not carry a lot of water, I would not recommend this size. I love the way the water comes out as it does not beat your plants, it is like a nice summer shower.
Comments about French Watering Can:
My first watering can has lasted over 15 years, outlasting 3 commercial quality watering cans!
Comments about French Watering Can:
Well, of course it's heavy when it's full!
This watering can is built well and is solid. I think it will last for years. I like the large opening on top. It is very easy to fill, and I can reach my hand inside if I need to. The can is well-balanced, so water does not spill out from the top when I am using it.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I bought the can for the three gallon capacity. However, when it is full, it is heavy and slightly unmanageable. Otherwise, the spout has a lovely, directable spray. Although the style can is simple, it is also a little too bland in appearance.
Comments about French Watering Can:
For years, I used two 2.25 gallon cans to carry water to my gardens, but the extra 3 quarts in each hand with these cans saves me lots of time even though the difference doesn't sound like much.
The balance and handle design are great and the large opening allows me to fill these by hanging them by their handle on the spigot of my hydrant in the barn - no hose necessary. I do wish that a smaller spout was available as this one pours a wider shower than I need. Of course, it's removable for more precise, albeit harsher waterings, AND you can position it any way you like (facing up, down or in between).
Empty, these are lightweight yet sturdy. Water weighs 8 lbs per gallon, so if you can't carry 25 lbs, buy something smaller or simply don't fill these to the top.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Should have "3-gal." included in Headline. I was shopping for a large capacity watering can and they are not easy to find.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Holds a lot of water and can get heavy. But the handle design is excellent and allows you to manage the weight pretty easily. It also provides a nice gentle shower.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Great for watering outside plants. It holds a lot of water minimizing trips to the rain barrel. It isn't a precise watering tool so not really an indoor product.
Filled, it can be heavy so don't be fooled by the picture of "The Happy Waterer" showing no stress in the watering process. But of course, the more you water the less weight to deal with.
Comments about French Watering Can:
The can is durable, the spray is soft and easily directed, the handle size and shape allow one to balance the can no matter how full it is, and the can itself is lightweight. But full with 3 gallons of water, it's HEAVY, at more than 25 pounds.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I like the fact that it holds 3 gallons, saves me more steps back and forth. Thinking about getting another one for the other hand. Pours great!
Comments about French Watering Can:
The three gallon size is awkward and heavy--Two would be better. The huge sprinkler sprout is inefficient for potted plants, even 10" diameter ones.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I bought two, one was a gift for a first time gardener and she loved it.
I also told a niece in Ohio about the grow bags and they are working perfect for her. Now the deer aren't getting everything.
Comments about French Watering Can:
It is much easier to use than a traditional watering can.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Absolutely necessary for those areas which are not accessible from a hose or sprinkler!!! Lightweight and a great nozzle. A must-have!!!
Comments about French Watering Can:
This watering can is great! We water all of our vegetable and flower gardens manually from the rain barrels. With the old cans it used to take forever and I hated it. This watering can makes it so much easier to get the job done and I don't mind watering at all anymore. Less trips to fill it and it delivers a really good shower of water quickly to the plant roots, not a small slow trickle like my old cans. We will definitely be investing in a second one.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I bought one a few years ago; loved it; bought another. It was during a drought and I used one in bathroom to collect water which would have been wasted otherwise while I waited for it to get warm.
Same in kitchen. Now I still use them to conserve in the same manner, plus applying fertilizer, etc. that needs to be dissolved in water. Also, I gave one to my brother and another to a friend -- they love them too.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I had hoped to use this both inside and out but water leaks from around the spout so it can only be used outdoors. Other than that, it is fairly lightweight and an asset.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I love this can! Because it holds so much water, it makes trips back and forth minimal.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Have been looking for a water can to replace my Mom's and when I saw this one from Gardeners I thought it would be of good quality. Have not used yet but am very disappointed that the seam under the handle is rough. Not going to be very comfortable with water in it so I'm going to tape it along the seam. This one is sure much better than what you can get at[...] etc. but still disappointed.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Really nice watering can but it is big! When it is full, it is hard to carry around.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I finally have a watering can capavle of carrying all the water I need to fill my two bird baths in one trip. It also carries sufficient water to serve several plants without return trips to mt faucet. It is a quality product that permits me to do away with two other watering cans that I tried to carry at the sametime.
Comments about French Watering Can:
My only issue is that sometimes the nozzle falls off
Comments about French Watering Can:
As a gardener for 40+ years, I've used lots of different garden tools. Watering cans are one of those that seem somehow old-fashioned, and for awhile, after owning several different ones (all "high quality"), I gave up on them when one after another warped, leaked, was difficult to hold, carry and pour or otherwise became useless after one or two seasons. However, applying seaweed emulsions, or other organic amendments which are dissolved in water, is most easily and efficiently done with a watering can so I bought this one after reading reviews. It is perfect. In fact, I bought a second one. They are so well balanced that I can easily carry both when completely full. There is something different about wandering my gardens with watering cans in tow, adding my amendments to specific plants, and inspecting everything as I go. Using a watering can instead of a hose attachment is a little like being in a canoe rather than a motorboat. Quiet, peaceful and closer to nature.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Can is great for watering plants away from the hose/house or when you don't want to have to uncoil the hose and coil it back up. It has a large capacity which is what sets it apart. If you're like me, and would rather take 15 bags of groceries in one trip than to make two or three trips then this is the can for you.
My criticism of this can would be that it is not real attractive. It's simply plastic and functional, not ornamental. Would like to see a can like this made of copper or aluminum. It would be more expensive but also more attractive.
Comments about French Watering Can:
The neck on the sprinkler head cracked and split along the seam. This allows water to leak out all over the place.Only a heavy dose of duct tape keeps the head on and the leak under control. Needless to say this is unsightly and adds to the weight of the already heavy watering can. This was the first item I have bought from Gardeners that I have been disappointed in. Get a cheap one [...]instead.
Comments about French Watering Can:
This is the best watering can ever. It holds enough that I can do most of a flower garden before a refill and yet still carry the load. The wide opening is great for adding fertilizer and the spray end of the wand.
No complaints what so ever!
Comments about French Watering Can:
This is a great watering can for outdoors. I would not use it inside because I think the water would go everywhere. It's great to quickly water large pots or containers.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Great
Comments about French Watering Can:
This is great for gently watering your plants. The flow of water is not to fast. The capacity of water that it holds doesn't require a lot of refilling compared to smaller cans. The can is balanced while holding and has a comfortable hand grip. Even though it leaks, it's not a problem for outdoors watering.
Comments about French Watering Can:
My last blue French watering can moved with me in 1994 to New Hampshire. Last winter it got left in the unheated garage with water in it and the bottom kind of froze off.... But it was PERFECT for the previous 20 years!!!! Fills well, carries well, decent opening but doesn't slosh. Rose works well and cleans out well. I was afraid they didn't make them anymore and am so thrilled, I'm ordering TWO!
Comments about French Watering Can:
Good capacity and a great head. Easy to remove and clean.
BUT it is not easy to water with. Poor design of handle.
Comments about French Watering Can:
What I love about this watering can, besides the fact that it's great looking, is its capacity. There isn't another one on the market this big. I've run through alot of plastic watering cans and this is the only one I've found that's well balanced, sturdy, long lasting (had one for over 7 years till I left it out when water froze in it and the bottom broke out--my fault!) and doesn't require so many trips to the faucet. The only thing I don't like about it is the rose--it doesn't allow enough water to come out of it--I take it off most of the time. My first one of these had a large brass rose on it that I loved, but it broke and I must admit that this one is sturdier. Overall an unbeatable product.
Comments about French Watering Can:
The spout provides a generous yet gentle rain of water. Nicely balanced.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I'm on my 2nd French Watering Can. The first one lasted 15 years, but I had to replace the rosette (the weak point in this product). It's great for efficiently hauling water from the rain barrel out into the garden. I'd say this thing is best for serious gardeners. Folks with tiny pots of petunias are better off with something smaller.
Comments about French Watering Can:
The watering can is of high quality, the only negative aspect would be the size of the can and spray, it is a little large making watering of hanging basket a little difficult.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I knew it would be heavy, but it's the best.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I especially like the fine spray that comes when you use the rose attachment to water young plants
Comments about French Watering Can:
The watering can is very handy since its large capacity means fewer trips back and forth to the rain barrel. However, the injection molded spout that holds the sprinkler rose had a pinhole leak which I had to patch. So, I can't give it a perfect 5. Otherwise it is good value for the money.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I was disappointed that the color did match what it looked like on the website and the rose leaks.
Comments about French Watering Can:
nice for freshly sown seeds and seedlings - does not disturb soil
Comments about French Watering Can:
My past favorite watering can was metal and rusted out on me - with this one being made from plastic, this will not happen. The large capacity it holds is great and the removable spout is user friendly! Great red color too!
Comments about French Watering Can:
I write our company's monthly newsletter and write a column about my own gardening experiences. Here's what I wrote for our April 2010 newsletter:ENTRY: MARCH 25, 2010 (My Favorite Watering Can x5!)Just this morning I ordered my 5th watering can from my Gardener's Supply Company catalog. No, I don't use five watering cans at once. Rather, the first two I ordered from them ten or more years ago are finally needing to be replaced--I think I ran over one of them with the truck last fall. The watering can I'm talking about is not your standard watering can available locally at garden centers and home improvement stores. Nope, this watering can is the epitome of watering cans! Not only does it hold 3 gallons of water (instead of the normal 2 or less) for fewer trips, but it's incredibly durable and light weight (minus the truck encounter). The handle is wrap around so the can is very easy to carry and pour--given its size. I find three watering cans invaluable when fertilizing with water soluble fertilizers. Because of its 3 gallon capacity, I can already be watering with one while the next one is filling and dissolving the fertilizer. I fertilize with the three in rotation, drastically shortening the watering time for my hundreds of containers that need regular fertilizing. This watering can is a winner!
Comments about French Watering Can:
The spray is very efficient; however, once filled it is too heavy for me to use on my waist-high salad bar which requires daily watering.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Wonderfully light weight even when full of water.
Well balanced for pouring. Has a great shower head for watering plants or Grandkids.
Comments about French Watering Can:
This is my second French watering can. My first one lasted years and was very heavy duty. The new one doesn't seem to be as sturdy (time will tell) and the grip has a sharp edge on the underside making it uncomfortable to use (will have to find a way to smooth it down). Hope it will hold up as well as the last one, but the quality is not equal.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I like to hand water many of my plants/veggies especially when applying fertilizers. One of the many nice aspects of this watering can is that it is actually made in France - NOT CHINA!! I had a two gallon capacity can for years before it sprung a leak and I had a difficult time finding one its equal. Well, the French Watering Can is the the ticket! Wonderful garden colors, super THREE gallon capacity, adjustable pouring nozzle and the price is right! Don't settle for those lousy, cheap cans or the English ones that go for well over $100, this is the watering can for the serious gardener!!
Comments about French Watering Can:
Very durable
Comments about French Watering Can:
This watering can is easy to carry. I am short(5'2") and I have no trouble carrying this.
Comments about French Watering Can:
It holds a lot of water, and it was my biggest reason for getting this watering can.
It may be hard to lift for someone who is elderly or not as strong physically.
The only drawback is a rough bottom part. I like to use the upper part of my leg as I water for support of the can, and it kind of scrapes it. Wish they made a smooth base. And the color is a bit too bright for me - a little darker red would be best. And I wish it came in green, too, not just red and blue. Otherwise I like it - it serves the purpose, and saves me several trips back and forth.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I like the metal rose in particular. It gives a great distribution of water.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Very sturdy. It won't wear out ever!
Comments about French Watering Can:
I've had 2 of these and while I love the capacity and relative ease of use, I don't understand why you don't sell a replacement rose. The rose only lasts about one season then it leaks and cracks and leaks even more.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I use this watering can to water two planters I have out by the street. It is much easier than dragging the hose out there. It holds a lot of water and I love it!

Comments about French Watering Can:
Love the size and the light weight. The handle is very helpful. Why make a watering can where the rose (head) only slides on? I'll bet this head doesn't last the season.
Comments about French Watering Can:
While the concept is good and it waters in a rain fall fashion, once filled, it is very heavy for a petite person like myself to hold . I bought it to disperse liquid fertilzer lightly over the soil , but because of its weight, I have to refill often to accommplish my task.
Strong men & women- no problem. Petite people-think twice

Comments about French Watering Can:
The large capacity of this can is great, saves me several refills and trips. It is very well made, nice spread of water. It has a large head so it would not be appropriate for small house plants/containers.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Good basic watering can but average quality. The fitting around rose leaks a little, the handle has a plastic nib where joined that is annoying. But it is a good basic watering can for the garden with good capacity and an adequate rose.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I especially like the capacity as it saves extra trips to my rain barrel, but isn't too heavy to carry around. Love the distribution of water from the spout.
Comments about French Watering Can:
It is a little heavy, but 3 gallons of H20 weigh 24 pounds no matter what. The "rose" or faceplate is advertized to be stainless. If it isn't galvanized steel, I'm and astronaut. All-in-all, it is a good product at a fair price.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I bought it to water the plants in outdor pots. Much better than the hose.
Now I took it inside to carry water to my bird baths.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Sprinkles water on the seeds without disturbing the soil.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Easy to carry comfortably when full, and easy to direct gentle shower where needed. Love it!
Comments about French Watering Can:
I have used these watering cans for years to B1 all my new plantings. When our drought conditions put us on watering restictions I found a new use for them. I empty my rinse water from doing dishes into one outside my kitchen door and water my patio pots. I bought an extra one for outside my bathroom door to hold the cold water I collect before I start my shower.
I also bought 2 for gifts for friends who are conserving water in the same way!
Comments about French Watering Can:
After trying hit and miss with various watering cans purchased elsewhere, this one is a dream. I love the 3 gallon capacity and the big watering head. It is easy for me to haul around and water all my patio and porch containers. I also love that it comes in red.
Comments about French Watering Can:
The large capacity is a plus as well as the nice shower pattern but the rose should be a little more secure on the spout.
Comments about French Watering Can:
This watering can is so great, I had to have two. My husband uses them, too. Very sturdy construction.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Use for watering outdoor plants with my water barrel reservoir. Well proportioned when filled with water therefore easy to walk without lose of splashing water.
Comments about French Watering Can:
This is my second one - I purchased the first over 12 years ago ... it's been so long we can't remember - finally it wore out and if I had been more careful as not to leave it out in the dun, I'm sure it would still be fine. I love it for watering in the garden and for carrying water to the porch to transfer to a smaller watering can - it saves lots of trips back and forth to the faucet! This time I bought a red one and I love the color! I also love it because it is easy to remove the head so you can use it either way.
Comments about French Watering Can:
We use this for fertilizing our azaleas and rhododendrons. It's comfortable for short people like me and my husband who is ten inches taller.
Comments about French Watering Can:
The two things I like most about the French Watering Can are how well balanced it is and the fact that the spout is easily removeable and cleanable! It's a little large and gets too heavy if filled to the brim.
Comments about French Watering Can:
The three gallon capacity is great, and yet easy to carry.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Weekly I feed my flower pots a mix of epsom salts, blue fertilizer & water. There are nine pots just around the pool plus many others. It was taking so long with a smaller watering can. Now I just have to fill it three times to do everything. It is a little heavy for the first few seconds of watering, but the spray comes out soft and is easily guided.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I mix my fertilizer in it every other week as well as water plants every morning. It can be foliar or root targeted. Tough and sturdy.

Comments about French Watering Can:
This is a nicely designed watering can. The wraparound handle makes it easy to use and to control the rate of watering whether the can is full or partially empty. The can is perfect for container plants outdoors, or for fertilizing plants in beds. Regrettably, there is lots of mold flash. This is a minor annoyance, but it does interfere with the seal between the spout and the removable, repositional rose, allowing it to leak and reducing the can's usability indoors.
The can would be perfect if the manufacturer would re-align the molding shells, or have the line workers spend a bit more time grinding off the mold flash at the factory. I cleaned mine up a bit with a hand grinder, but I shouldn't have to do this.
Comments about French Watering Can:
It is so comfortable to use even if filled to the brim - doesn't hurt your hand. The spout makes it a flow like rain- great for the plants.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I SAW MY SISTER'S AND WAS JEALOUS, ESPECIALLY WHEN SHE TOLD ME THAT MY FATHER HAD PURCHASED ONE FOR HIMSELF AND ONE FOR HER, BUT NONE FOR ME!!! SO, I BOUGHT 3 TO SALVE MY HURT FEELINGS AND ALL IS BETTER! THS IS A GREAT PRODUCT. I AM USING 2 FOR MYSELF, AND THE 3RD WILL MAKE A PERFECT SHOWER GIFT FOR SOME YOUNG GARDENERS WHO WILL SOON BE MARRIED.

Comments about French Watering Can:
Go ahead & reward yourself! This awesome product has taken the chore out of watering my many vegetable & flower beds!!! Although expensive, it is definitely worth it! It holds so much that my trips to the rain barrels are more efficient. The easily removable head eliminates the frustration of clogs and broken threads. The even flow of the rose creates a gentle waterfall instead of drowning or crushing my seedlings. Besides, the red is simply fun & sexy. Don't go another season without it.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Used both to water lawn, flowers and small garden. Great head on container allows even distribution of water.
Comments about French Watering Can:
When it is completely full water will have a tendency to go everywhere.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I fill up all 5 of my 3 gallon watering cans and water till they are empty and then fill them all up again. It saves a lot of time! The spouts are strong but don't damage the plants with their spray. They do a very nice job!
Comments about French Watering Can:
The adjustable watering head delivers well placed and smooth water flow.
Comments about French Watering Can:
since it holds 3 gallons, if you fill, it can be a little heavy. however, it is well balanced. I just don't fill it all the way up.
Comments about French Watering Can:
This watering can is very sturdy and well-constructed. It makes taking care of my plants very easy.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I was hesitant at first thinking it would be too heavy to carry when full but it's not. Because of it size, I have fewer trips back and forth to the water barrel. I can't think of anything negative about it and would definitely recommend to everyone who gardens!
Comments about French Watering Can:
Watering with our original "big blue" was my little daughter's favorite when she helped me in the garden, though she could barely lift it. This year she is getting married, and we had a family ceremony when we finally replaced the can. Practically indestructable is the absolute truth! We would not settle for anything else.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Have been looking for a large, sturdy, watering can for a long time. Have at last found it. Will be buying another in the near future. Great colour as well as practical.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I've been looking for a nice watering can, but since I am a slight person, when this can is full it is too heavy for me to maneuver. I didn't think the spout worked that well.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I have tried several watering cans from gardening stores in my area, but this one is the best. Easy to fill, carry and use. Get one, you won't regret it!
Comments about French Watering Can:
it fits perfectly under my rain barrel spout.
Comments about French Watering Can:
The French watering cans are so good for my everyday garden and lawn uses that I purchased one at first and liked it so much that I purchased another. One red, one blue. I like the fact that these cans hold much more water than the standard watering cans, nearly twice as much. I use them to mix my granular fertilizer and they water my complete garden with just one trip to the spicket. The cans allow you to water directly on the plant rooot or on the leaves, as needed. You can also remove the spout for more direct root drenching. Plus, the cans are rust resistant. I would highly recommed these cans.
Comments about French Watering Can:
works well....holds a lot of water......small leaks out of nozzel when pouring
Comments about French Watering Can:
Overall a very useful product. Might have to order another.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I couldn't find anything this large in the stores, so I was delighted to find it at Gardener's Supply. Not so delightful is the fact that the rosette leaks, it's quite heavy to carry when full, and it didn't look as nice as it did in the picture. I mainly use this for mixing plant food and feeding.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Much to sloppy for indoors, better use outside. Comfortable to carry.
Comments about French Watering Can:
this is a great looking pot as well as extremely functional. i love the holding capacity. my husband can use this on the hill without having to return to get more water from the garden hose.
Comments about French Watering Can:
The picture is totally accurate. If you fill this watering can more than 1/2 full, you WILL need 2 hands to manuever it. That's OK, but just be aware that it's a little unwieldy. Having said that, it's really nice not to have to refill the watering can every 2 seconds. It's also great for watering patches of the lawn that are difficult to reach with our hose.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I love my blue watering can. Although it is heavy when full, I am able to manage it and even carry it up and down stairs and medium distances. The large capacity cuts down on trips to the faucet, and the can has made watering my extensive container garden and potted plants a much easier and enjoyable task. The gentle, full spray is wonderful.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I said it was difficult to use and that's because when it has 3 gallons of water (which is what I want) it is heavy. So while it is a con it is acceptable and I use a smaller can if necessary. But for getting plants fed with a liquid fertilizer, it can't be beat.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I use the watering can around the perimeter of my lawn, including flower beds & my vegetable garden. Here in California we have a serious drought and enforced water conservation. With the big 3 gallon capacity water can be applied with little waste and depending on how full you decide to start with you will get a pretty good work out after 8-10 trips. there is some leakage at the spout so wouldn't recommend it for small indoor jobs but it is great anywhere in the yard!
Comments about French Watering Can:
I love this watering can because my husband can leave it out side over the winter and it will be as good as new when the snow melts. He is a good guy but still after 27 years still in training!
Comments about French Watering Can:
I've bought this before so I knew I loved it. When my 8 year old can got irrepairably damaged, I ordered my new one. The sprinkling rose is perfect, and the can holds the amount of water that I can carry. It sprinkles a large area, gently, perfect for my perrenials. I don't bother with the hose, this is REAL watering. It delights me and the wonderful growing things!
Comments about French Watering Can:
The water pattern is just right. Soaks but doesn't run off.

Comments about French Watering Can:
I have this watering can in the deep blue & really like it. This year I decided to order the red one. Quality wise, it is great. The red color is just too fire-engine red. I already purchased a can of Rustoleum Fusion paint (for plastics) in a deeper red. When I get around to it, I am going to spray paint this can a more subdued color so it blends in more with the garden & does not stand out in all its "garrishness."
Comments about French Watering Can:
It's the volume I want and need-most cans are too small to get done what I need done. This one is just right-I'll probably buy several more.
Comments about French Watering Can:
excellent handle design and 3 gallon capacity make this a great tool for watering individual plantings and small beds where setting up a sprinkler isn't practical. i recently purchased one to replace the first which lasted well over 10 years!
Comments about French Watering Can:
Combined with the light weight, the 3 gallon capacity allows me to water my vegetable garden with minimal trips to the spigot!
Comments about French Watering Can:
Excellent product, Very light
Comments about French Watering Can:
water plants beyond the reach of the water hose.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Sprinkler head comes off if not placed on tight. I like the amount it holds as well as the large sprinkler head.
Comments about French Watering Can:
This was not what I expected from the photo. It is simply cheap plastic and really not what I expected for what I paid. However, it does what it is expected to do.
Comments about French Watering Can:
holds enough water that i can water all the potted plants in one trip
Comments about French Watering Can:
excellent balance and handle so easy to use even when full. wish rose didn't fall off or get knocked off so easily. my neighbor has borrowed it and plans to buy one himself.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I bought this in conjunction with a rain barrel and have been using them a lot this summer. The watering can although a bit on the pricey side is a great product. Very durrable and weather resistant. In fact, I like it so much I just purchased another one, so I could fill one while emptying the other. (It's nice and big, but that means it takes a while to fill) I love that it can hold 3 gallons at a time, and it's still comfortable to hold and carry around. Also, I love that the end comes off, so it's very easy to clean the spout. Highly recommend
Comments about French Watering Can:
We couldn't find a can with a flat top that would not drip when we watered our indoor plants until we happened on this one. The size is good (my husband can fill it for fewer trips and I can make it a ittle lighter). The only drawback is that the sprinkler head does not screw on and there's no little knob on top to attach it to when we need a steady stream without a sprinkler -- which means we have to keep up with it.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Not worth the price. Holds a lot of water. Mine had blue plastic burrs stuck to the spout which made it a little unsightly.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I love the large size, less trips back and forth to refill it. I like that I can remove the spout for more precise watering.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Product is good quality and well built, however, where the sprinker head slips on to the spout leaks.
Comments about French Watering Can:
i love these i use them to empty my rain barrels, I actually have 4 of the 2 are filling and 2 are watering
Comments about French Watering Can:
exactly fits the purpose I bought them for
Comments about French Watering Can:
The large capacity can at a reasonable price is what attracted my attention.
I like the gentle sprinkle on my newly planted tomatoe & pepper plants.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Right size.
Right shape.
Easy to use.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Great size, little heavy when full but not too bad. Overall very good, but it does leak where the rose connects to the watering can. I ordered 2 watering cans and they both do the same.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I spend a lot of time gardening and have quite a few pots and hanging baskets. The French watering can carries a lot more water so I don't have to return to the faucet so often. It's very durable and stays upright when filling with a hose.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Use watering can to water . Great capacity, easy to carry and pour.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I use regularly in the garden. Very nice watering can
Comments about French Watering Can:
Holds a lot so less trips to the faucet
Comments about French Watering Can:
I have searched for quite a while to find a truly useful yet attractive watering can. I have found it in your red, french watering can! The size is useful as you do not have to refill as often and it is actually really cute on my garden bench. It does leak just a little at the edge of where the spout fits on the can but I will get over that...I would love another in a pale yellow if you decide to make more colors!!
Comments about French Watering Can:
I use the can to water my pots and boxes and I love it! It holds a large amount of water but is still very lightweight and easy to carry.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I absolutely recommend this watering can. It holds plenty of water so I'm not refilling it as often as with smaller watering cans. I have used metal watering cans that break and rust and I'm glad to find this one that won't rust or break easily. I have seven raised beds and this product makes watering a pleasure.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I can use the watering can even though it leaks but was very disappointed.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Light weight
Comments about French Watering Can:
I like having a large container so you don't have to keep getting more water.
It is heavy when full, but the handle is designed to be comfortable when holding. I really like mine. When I water plants in containers that are thick and cover the soil area, I remove the sprinkler top and use the spout only. You really have two water cans in one. I like mine.
Comments about French Watering Can:
i think for it's size the cons come with the territory. it is very heavy when full, and can be awkard to lug around ...because i fill it with water from my water barrel which is far from my garden, I like filling it infrequently. The nozzle can be removed for bigger watering needs.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Already had one, and liked it so well needed another to "balance" when I carry water. Now I have a blue one and a red one...just for fun!
Comments about French Watering Can:
This replaces a blue watering can (same model) that finally died after over 10 years of hard use (and was in the sun a lot). I use it without the rose on the spout--easier to direct a stream of water. This would be a perfect watering can if it weren't made of plastic. Oh well.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Very happy with this purchase. Great for my flower beds, baskets, and pots. Holds plenty of water which allows for less trips to my far away flowers.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I thought the red would be darker, more toward burgundy. Instead it is brighter, more toward orange. I like my blue watering can better.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I use this with my rain barrels so I can water my container plants, it can get quiet heavy because it holds alot of water.
Comments about French Watering Can:
This is a great watering can. I love the red color for pesticide application so I can easily identify it to keep it separate. The large capacity means fewer trips and it is easy to carry and pour despite the size.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Watering potted plants. My garden is small, ergo lots of plants in containers and pots.
Capacity, at three gallons I don't have to make as many trips to the faucet.
Well balanced and easy to handle.
The rosette is just a bit too large for smaller pots. Would like to see a kit of smaller rosettes and spouts.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I love being able to fill this easily and go a long way with it. The balance and grip are important to me as my spiggots are high and my gardens are in many places.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Opening is wide enough to easily stir and mix your solutions and big enough to hold a larger amount.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I love that it is big. Just a little too big for me. I fill about 2/3 and it is fine. I save water in a rain barrel and they work great together. My flowers are flourishing. Thanks
Comments about French Watering Can:
I really like the removable spray head. When I am using the spray head, the spraying is very soft.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I have many plants that need to be hand watered and I could not find any decent capacity watering can in any gardern center. I have had a French Watering can for about 12 years and wanted another watering can but could not find anything acceptable in any stores I visited. Now I have two which is easier for balancing while walking with them and I don't have to keep refilling them as much as the smaller watering cans in order to get my work done. They are a big time saver!

Well made, sturdy and holds plenty of water with out getting too heavy and hard to deal with. We bought 2 a couple of years ago and now we got 2 more. They're great to have all around the garden to water those young seedlings.

Comments about French Watering Can:
We use this in the back yard to water all our container plants that we can't reach with a hose. It holds enough so we don't have to go back to the spigot too often. When full, it isn't too heavy to carry.

Comments about French Watering Can:
I remove the rose and use just the spout to water my houseplants in the winter. In summer, the rose goes on and I use it to water seedlings and the houseplants that have moved outdoors. I love the capacity. Actually, I have two -- one for the "back garden" and one for the "front garden"
Comments about French Watering Can:
I had this bucket before. Husband sold it in yard sale when we were getting ready to move. Missed having it for watering gardens so ordered another one.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I use mine for watering my self-watering containers. It works well for the pool deck pots.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I can carry lots or little amounts of water....plus, the last one that I had lasted for at least 15 years.
Contrasted with others, the price makes me smile.
Comments about French Watering Can:
This watering can holds plenty of water, yet isn't too heavy. I can make less trips to the faucet while watering all my container plants!

Comments about French Watering Can:
too heavy and awkward - the spout is not a tight enough fit. I don't dare use it for indoor house plants.
Comments about French Watering Can:
These are the best watering cans I have ever had! I love the fact they hold 3 gallons, less trips to the water barrel!

Comments about French Watering Can:
This is my second french watering can. I'm not disappointed because the first one got so much use. It probably would still be OK, but I left it out for 2 winters. All the "cheapos" have tiny openings which are almost useless when adding fertilizer or other "chemicals". The bigger size is a time saver too. This is worth the money.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I love the color and beauty. I actually love how it looks in my garden. I just find it a little bulky and heavy when it's full.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Great for watering seeds in garden because of its gentle spout.
Comments about French Watering Can:
REPLACED TWO TWENTY YEAR OLDS, GREAT PRODUCT.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Most watering cans filled with 3 gallon are clumsy to carry but that is not the case with this style. Nor will it spill over from the top while you're carrying it. The handle is extremely comfortable and doesn't cut into the palm of your hand. I have 2 of these for myself plus I have given it as a gift.
Comments about French Watering Can:
This has been a great watering can for watering my shrubs and decorative plants outside of the house. The large capactiy eliminates constant refilling.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Easy to hold and use.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I am very please with the size. I can add plant boosters and water away.
Comments about French Watering Can:
This is great for watering the areas my drip system doesn't get to.
Comments about French Watering Can:
The large capacity means fewer trips to the water spigot when I'm watering pots. The rose is great for distributing the water over a wide area.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I am small and not that stong, and it works for me. The minute I picked it up full of water, I said, order two more. We use one for work and two for our gardens and plants. I wish a second rose were available for a more concentrated but gentle flow. We would gladly pay for it. Pass it on to the manufacturers.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I like the gentle releases of the water. It is great for young tender plants and watering newly planted seeds.
Comments about French Watering Can:
The watering can is very sturdy and holds up to the sun and heat here in the south. I recently gave one as a gift
Comments about French Watering Can:
I like being able to carry more water but it is hard to balance just one this large.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I love the sixe of this can..it is the largest one I have had..I think it will work out great for me
Comments about French Watering Can:
Drought area requires spare water use and this item is perfect. Plus, as I mentioned, lifting it is great upper body exercise. When directed toward the "thirstier plants" it's perfect for soaking them, without wasting a bit. If not uprighted, however, the spout loves to drip. Just need to pay attention while using. :)
Comments about French Watering Can:
Sexy red color--a standout!
Elegantly simple AND functional design.
Ergonomic handle, well balanced, feels good in the hand, easy to direct spray and balance when full or almost empty
NOT made in China--France! Tres bon!
Durable yet Lightweight--a plus for a community gardener who has to schlep in water to our plot before the city turns the water on
We still love our vintage metal watering can, but now reach for our "Can Can Rouge" first!
Comments about French Watering Can:
The seal around the spout/rose doesn't seal too well; water dribbles out from it while watering plants.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Easy to fill. Love this product for filling the bird baths around my yard.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I like this watering can because it delivers a good stream of water. It is sturdy and there is no way I can miss seeing where I have put it unlike my metal green can. I have not yet mastered how to get all the water out of the can in a spray rather than a big glug at the end. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Like the large opening so my hose nozzle fits inside the can for filling.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I use my watering cans to water my flower garden and pots around the pool. Love it, love it. Lightweight, awesome colors, and they look good in the yard.
Comments about French Watering Can:
If you get two then you are balanced when carrying and you don't have to make a lot of trips back to the rain barrel.

Comments about French Watering Can:
I'd wanted one of these for a long time after reading all the great reviews and finally bought one. The plastic construction looked a little cheap but I tried it anyway. I enjoyed it immensely until the spout head fell off while I was watering some seedlings outside. After that, the spout head would just randomly come off even after repeated attempts to tighten and adjust it. I still use it but I wish it were of better quality for the price. Maybe mine was a lemon?
Comments about French Watering Can:
I have had a blue watering can for about ten years and love it. I have a big yard and lots of plants that I need to water with as few trips as possible. I ordered the red can so I can have one for my greenhouse.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Great product!
Comments about French Watering Can:
Product looks good but I am worried that the plastic will biodegrade and crack in a short period if left in garden and in sunlight.
Water tend to splash out in transit from hose bib to plants when completely full. Ok in outside garden but defeats the purpose.
Comments about French Watering Can:
The watering can is durable, but it can be quite heavy when it's completely full of water.
Comments about French Watering Can:
excellent for all around use.
only place it can't be used is on really small pots.
Best feature is that water doesn't slop all over when the can is full.
Comments about French Watering Can:
About twenty years ago I bought a watering can from you. It finally began to leak because I left it outdoors in freezing weather when it was full of water. This watering can is my replacement for that one. I like the way the water sprays out evenly.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I use it to prevent having to drag the hose around so much. Also use it to gently drench newly transplanted plants.
Comments about French Watering Can:
cut my trips to the faucet in half!
Comments about French Watering Can:
It works great for applying Bayer's "All in One" products to flowers, shrubs and around tree trunks
Comments about French Watering Can:
I like the gentle spray of water and large capacity
Comments about French Watering Can:
Well balanced and good size.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I've been looking for a watering can like this for a long time. I have already recommended it to two friends.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I have one of these in each hand and water my garden in 1/3 the time it used to take me. I save water and the plants get a more accurate watering.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I don't particularly like the design, especially the spout. The container needs measurement indicators on the inside. A dark green, black, brown, color option would be nice.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I love this product! It holds lots of water so I don't have to keep going back to refill it. I have good control over the amount and direction of the water flow. It's lighter than a metal can and I don't have to worry about rust if I leave it outside.
Comments about French Watering Can:
My balcony garden is a source of great enjoyment and delight. Before purchasing my watering can, I had to make three trips to the faucet to get all of my plants watered. Now I make just one trip. And using my new French watering can is pure joy. There is a sense of simple elegance in its design and utility and it looks lovely sitting among my plants as well!

Even though the watering can holds a good deal of water, the handle makes it easy to carry and pour. Having a number of smaller garden areas near the house, this watering can reduces my trips. The removable rose gives it an additional function such as when soaking small trees at the base.
Comments about French Watering Can:
Precise and gentle watering for your garden and larger container plantings. Larger size saves trips to the faucet, and is easier than hauling the hose out all the time. Buy 2 for better balance. A caution: Takes some strength to carry the can when full, as it will be quite heavy.
Comments about French Watering Can:
stream is large making it difficult to water a planter without also getting water all around the planter
Comments about French Watering Can:
The optimum size for a watering can is probably 5-6 L. At a huge 13 L this can is difficult to lift to shoulder height. Useful for in ground watering and large pots and tubs, especially if there is some distance from your water barrel to planting but not so useful for small pots, troughs and baskets. Buy two for balance.
Comments about French Watering Can:
This is a great watering can. It's large - at the limit of what I can carry - but I love the fewer trips made possible by the large volume.

I believe in having the right tool for the job, and as far as watering cans go you couldn't do much better than this one. Easy to carry when full. Nice even spray, gentle enough for seedlings. Removable rose is handy if you're filling self-watering containers. I liked it enough that I bought a second!

Comments about French Watering Can:
We have a rain barrel that we use to water our garden. With my old watering can I had to make several trips back and forth. I bought two of these and they are so balanced that it is easy to carry two full ones out to where they are needed, leaving less "back and forth" and saving loads of time!
Comments about French Watering Can:
this watering can is great--the only drawback is that it is pretty large so it may be difficult for some to handle
Comments about French Watering Can:
I really like this watering can. It does the job and requires less trips to fill up. Plus, with the weather getting cooler, I can put the hose away and just use this watering can for my fall flowers.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I have big pots all around the outside of my house. I'd rather carry one heavy watering can than go back three times for refills.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I was tired of using our small one gallon watering can and spent some time looking for an upgrade. This is a study plastic can in a good size. The only con I have is that the removable rose is hard to get on and off, but it's a small matter for us as we don't use it a lot.
Comments about French Watering Can:
It is readily available and reasonable weight for me. It works great for small single-plant waterings where the hose is not avialble or cannot reach. My 10-yr old likes it too.
Comments about French Watering Can:
I loved this watering can so much I bought a second one for myself (I find it easier to carry one on each side). I also bought a few for gifts for all of my gardening friends.
I love that it's perfectly balanced when you carry it and when you're watering. No water sloshes out the hole when you're water (a huge plus for my shoes & pants). I also love that it comes apart for easy cleaning!
I would highly recommend this product to everyone.
