I wasn't sure what I would do with my LED ribbon light when I ordered it, but once it arrived and I saw how attractive it was, I used it as accent lighting along my fireplace mantle. The battery powering of this unit allows for operation in areas inconvenient to outlets (such as my fireplace mantle); however, I learned that while it can be on for a long while without fading, too many accidental over-nights on will be deleterious to your battery supply. Buy back-up batteries!

We have Crystal Christmas trees and I used the LED ribbon on a glass shelf with artificial snow and the trees - it was STRIKING!! - we got lots of compliments and plan to used them at Easter time with Easter decorations.

Used the two I purchased two different ways. The first was to drape across a glass and nickel console, laying it beneath cobalt glass, crystal vases, and a collection of silver and blue mercury glass objects. The second use was to create a bow for a wreath on the inside of my front entry door. My negatives on this product are personal (I didn't see/couldn't tell from the catalogue picture that the ribbon was patterned and I don't care for it and would prefer plain) and practical (the ribbon arrives folded and I was never fully successful getting the crimps out of the wired ribbon). It would work better (be less inflexible and easier to install) if the ribbon were rolled and not folded. Finally a longer lead from the battery box to the start of the ribbon would permit one to pursue greater options in camoflaging the box.

We laid the ribbon along the top of the garland on a short downstairs railing weaving it in and out of the garland. The gold color did not stand out when the lights were off but was very effective with the lights on. The lights have been on in the evening for several weeks and the batteries are still putting out the power.

I wanted to use it on my stair rail, which is only about 5 ft long, but I didn't notice that the ribbon is only 5 ft. So, I had to run it straight down and couldn't loop it at all. To loop it like shown in the photo, you have to order at least two for even a short rail like mine. This is better for use on a wreath. I wouldn't have bought this if I had realized that it was so short.
