I love the look of a single candle "burning" in a window and was looking for something battery operated that would stay put. The concept is great and that part of it worked great, but the candle itself would not stay lit. A great deal of fiddling with the bulb was required to get it to light at all and as soon as I let go of it, the bulb went out. Very disappointed!

We bought these candles so we have some for next Christmas season. The old wired ones are beginning to fall by the wayside and finding bulbs for them is an issue as well.

We did test the new ones before putting them away until December. Initial reaction was that they were very dim - turns out one of the batteries was dead or close thereto. With new batteries the light was acceptable for decoration.

great idea - unfortunately will not fit our windows, where window closes above the window will. wish it would have fit. ordered standard window candles instead.

Took some slight bending of bracket to get to fit in window. No wire but on/off is very slight difference in twisting bulb to small contact point. Ended up leaving on all season, one battery was sufficient.

I do prefer a nice white light but I find I like the soft glow more than I thought I would. I will probably order the white bulbs for next year and alternate them. Customers should know that it is the BULBS that contain the light sensor and that these can NOT be replaced with a store bought bulb; they are a specific type to this candle.

These candles were exactly what we were looking for.Mounted easily under the double hung windows. The LED bulbs use little battery power and have a warm glow. Great price and a great product! We even bought a second order for all of our windows.

I bought these window lights for the holidays. I was so excited to put them in the windows when they arrived. Although they did not fit in my windows exactly...they needed a thicker part to stay put in the windows. I added a round felt circle to the bottom...like you would put at the bottom of something so it would slide easier or not scratch a surface.....AND.......it WORKED! I love these lights. I do think that next year I will purchase white bulbs that illuminate more. Thanks!

I had ordered 3 candles with follage, one of the candles would not light on second year so ordered these without follage to replace the light part of the candle. The new bulbs were great, because they were also LED, but the new bulbs were colored to matched the rest of my bulbs. I put them up Thanksgiving weekend and they have lasted thru Christmas into New Years.

I was very disapointed in the illumination and must return these window lights. These lights are orange LED bulbs and have very low illumination. They look more like Halloween than Christmas and you can barely see them from the street. Great idea, as fixtures are very attractive but they don't work with our double hung windows.

I love the candles and am getting used to the yellow flame of the "warm-white" LED bulbs. They run a remarkably long time on just two AA batteries (1000-1500 hours), so I will live with the yellow flame in exchange for the great savings the LED bulbs offer on batteries.

I have seen "cool-white" LED bulbs that give a hard, eerie, blue-ish glow, so of the two white LED colors--warm or cool, I definitely prefer the "warm white" bulb.

I have six of the candles, four mounted in the front windows, and two slipped under a row of books on top of my piano, and the light caste is very soft from all of them.

The bulb itself has a delicate shape, as does the whole candle overall. I think the candles are beautiful during the day even when they are not lit, since the contours of the simple design are most evident then, as well as the warm color of the bronze holder, the candle itself, and the gentle white when the bulb is not turned on.

Unfortunately the candles did not fit as described in our double-hung windows, so we ended up mounting them permanently by drilling a hold through the metal and securing them that way, since we always intended to keep the holders up year round anyway (though sometimes without the candles inside). I used a tiny bit of dark paint to hide the screw.

There is a very simple way to take charge of when the candle is off or on and to bypass the light sensor all together. Just a simple turn of the bulb stops the connection to the battery! This is one more way to save on the batteries and only have the candles lit when you really want them on.

All in all, I love the candles. We live in a small colonial-style house in rural New England, and the holders are just right for the decor. I am glad to have securely mounted, simple and lovely, battery-operated candles (that are great during power outages as well as during holidays), and glad to be saving on batteries through the use of LED lights--even if they are yellow-ish when turned on. I definitely would recommend these candles to a friend.

Because of my windows we had to make them fit, but I do like the ease of use, I just wish that the light was brighter - it is not as easy to see from the road, but the dust to dawn and no cords hanging are great and I do like the looks from inside the house.

Check your windows before purchasing. Didn't work with our 30 new double-hung windows that have a lip to grab for opening. . .didn't allow the candle's L-shape bracket to be held in place when closing the window. I made it work by double-faced adhesive - still a little better than plugging in 30 window candles.

I love the way these look, however, they don't fit properly in my double hung windows. I just cannot get them to stand up straight. Still, the illumination looked ok from the outside until 2 of the bulbs burned out!! They do NOT last as long as they are advertised to and I can't find replacement bulbs so far.

Great idea, but they just aren't the quality I expected.

I was disapointed in the color of light. I just want a regular white/clear bulb but this bulb was more orange. Great for holloween but not for christmas. I checked out the "white" replacement bulbs that this company sells but the comments there said the light was actually blue. Why can't there be a regular white light. I also had difficulty installing these. My windows have a bit of a ledge at the bottom to grip when opening. These are not designed for that. I returned all of them.

Website advertises that, "Runs 1000-1500 hours on a set of batteries," but I have to replace the batteries every few nights. The lights advertised in the website picture are white but they sent ugly orange ones. The paint chips off as soon as you take them out of the box. It is nice that they automatically turn off in the daytime.

Be sure to purchase an extra for parts. I purchased 10 of these last year and was happy with the lights. Somehow I managed to lose the interior piece that allows the battery to operate on 1 of the candles. I ordered 2 more for back-ups and was annoyed to find that they changed the bulb. Last year it was a solid, clear bulb this year it is opaque, flexible rubber bulb. Two totally different effects. Although I only needed the inside part this year I planned to use these 2 in case I needed new bulbs. I certainly didn't need spend the extra money on mis-matched bulbs.

This is the first product I've bought from Gardener's that didn't live up to my expectations: not even a little bit. The color of the "candle" is orange. Ignore the picture shown for the product, and the description of a "natural glow"- it's ORANGE. The LED is brighter than most, so now I have [$] worth of bright orange candles that I'm not going to use. The description should be changed to note that it's orange.

just had a house tour and many visitors wanted to know where we found our window lights. Paperwork that comes does not tell you about the sensors in the candle. I had to call customer service to realize I needed to turn the sensor to the outside of the window so candle would come on at dusk. Maybe I should have realized that, but reading would have saved me frustration as I was ready to pack them up and send them back.

These are great. Well made and love the fact that I don't have to mess with extension cords! Throwing all my old plastic ones away. Did have to bend the support a bit to fit past the handles on the windows (Pella double hung windows), but that was easy to do by hand and didn't retract from the look at all. The only thing I would change is to make it a little brighter.

I am disappointed that the candles burn yellow, not white light. It doesn't quite have the desired effect with white light decor. They just do not match. They are made well and since I do not have window sills, they are a great design. If you do not mind the yellow flame effect then buy them. FYI, they do not flicker which is fine w/ me....
