We have one of these Advent Gingerbread Houses, and my son (2) loves it. Last year he was too small for anything that would fit into the little drawers, so we just left them empty, and he enjoyed just looking at it, and turning it. This year he's still too little for any toys that you might be able to fit in the drawers (choking hazard) but we were able to put little "treats" in for him, like conversation hearts, m&m's and even yogurt melts. He loved it, and looked forward to opening a drawer each night. I bought another one after Christmas to save as a gift for next year.

This adorable Advent calendar is one of the best purchases I made this holiday season. I collect gingerbread items and this house is wonderfully made and decorated. I teach kindergarten and my five year olds all loved finding the correct date and getting their treat for the day. My own three boys also enjoyed the house when it came home at the holiday break. Friends all commented on how cute it was. The turntable base was inspired; makes it so much easier for children to access the little hidden treats. Love it!

Product is sturdy and well made. Price was great, i did lots of research and no one else has these cheaper than this ([$]). We have young children and this will be a family heriloom. Boxes are large enough to hold a few very small treats if you have more than one child. My only criticism is that the doors are hard for small fingers (toddler) to open.

This was an unplanned purchase that turned out to be a terrific gift. When I saw the gingerbread house on sale, I decided to buy it for my granddaughters (ages 5 and 2) for next year. I wasn't keen on adding more candy to their holidays, though, so I went to the craft store and easily found 24 small ornaments that fit in the drawers. I also bought a small artificial tree. When I gave this to the girls this Christmas, the older child was completely intrigued, checking out the drawers and windows. She is very excited about using it next year.

This is a really cute item for the money. It's pretty sturdy and if cared for it will last. I did not use the candy that came with it because for younger children the hard round candies are a choking hazard. I bought some chocolate coins and kisses and they fit in the little doors and windows perfectly.

I bought 3 of these for my grandchildren and grandnieces. It was a hit! However, my 3 yr old granddaughter pulled one of the drawers apart when it wouldn't pull out all the way. So, it could use better glue.

Love this advent calendar house! It is cheerful, well-made, and makes a very happy addition to our table. We will have this for years to come. I had the grandmas send tiny ornaments to put in each compartment, rather than the candy that was included. The compartments are not huge but they are big enough.

I purchased this advent calendar because it fit in with my gingerbread/candy theme. It's bright, colorful, and very attractive. It will be a nice heirloom to hand down to my daughter. The only "bad" thing I can say about it is one of the window inserts had come unglued in [...]and the corner of the base was unfortunately, smashed in shipping as well. I didn't want to return it, so I fixed it up myself the best I could. It's not really a product defect though...it was packed well; the corner just got ripped open.

I bought this for my teens who had 'outgrown' the usual chocolate pieces advent calendar. This lets me put a piece of their favorite candy or other token in the slots for each day. Works beautifully. The only thing I would have asked of this advent calendar is that the slot for the 24th have been bigger. It is the same size as the other slots, which makes it awkward to put in a special something for that last special day of the 24th.

Very nicely done; I was surprised. Instead of candy, however, I purchased some mini ornaments, put those in the drawers & doors and each day we take one out and hang it on a small tree. This is definitely a keeper.

I am very impressed with this item. I considered buying it for months and glad I finally did. It is a great deal at the sale price and definitely worth more.
The quality is fantastic. I am very picky about details and thought this may have paint flaws or wood pieces not lined up quite right, however I could not find one flaw...and I searched for one! Also the doors and drawers open easily and I do not foresee any problem with them wearing out over the years.
I would recommend this to anyone considering buying it. I think it would make a fantastic gift, especially for a family with young children who would enjoy using it year after year.

I bought one for our home and one for a gift to a new relative's baby. Not sure why they send candy with it, it's not going to be fresh. Very attractive, nice sized drawers for treats or gifts. An obvious enhancement would be a turntable, but if you have a lazy susan, that would be great to allow it to rotate to all drawers. You'll like it. Nice size and quality

I like this Advent Calendar house because it's unique and very usable every year. I have been looking for an advent calendar ever since my first granddaughter was born in 2002 but the quality of the ones I have seen were very poor. I wanted something that would last through the years. When I saw this one, I had to have it. When I received it, I was thrilled with the quality. The drawers and doors are perfect size for two small pieces of candy (one for each girl). I especially loved the gingerbread house concept as their favorite story is the Gingerbread Man. The only thing I didn't like is that the candy that came with this had to be discarded due to peanut allergies. With so many children having nut allergies, there needs to be a little bit more control on this.

this is a gift to our daughter, son in law and 2 grand daughters 3 and 9 mo. It will be a wonderful reminder each year of the love of their grandparents as we went to a miniature doll house store and have filled each box with unique items that relate to this family. I was able to order miniature coffee cups with each of their names on them. So each day these children will have such fun finding the suprisre for the day in the box. What a wonderful advent calendar! I was looking for one that was nice and wooden but they were all so expensive. I grabbed this when it was on sale and what a bargain it was!
