    I could not open the battery compartment using a tiny screw driver that was exactly the right fit. I had to drill out the screw. When I installed the battery the light came on and the scene was really cute. The music box worked as it was supposed to.

    I ordered this tiny music box because I think grandmothers need to have magical things around ... smiles! and this is a wonderful little music box that, with a little imagination, transports the watcher/listener to an old fashioned Christmas square. It is lovely - I left one star off because the batteries and not very easy to install and they only dimly light one window .... but since I didn't even realize there was a light in the first place, it is no reason not to buy and enjoy this unique music box - also great for collectors and music box lovers!
