This was purchased as a Christmas present for my mother. She has gardened all her life. No instructions were included. Only one healthy tulip came up and it was a dark red. There was one other severely deformed tulip. Only two scillas and a few leaves. There appears to be one hyacinth attempting to come up. It is an ugly mess and not the beautiful gift pictured in the catalog that I had intended for my mother.

Well laid out basket, good quality basket. Flowers are a nice gift arrangement. They last quite a while as they come as sprouting bulbs. Not a good gift for the person who does not want to spend time watering as it will require several months from start to finish. Those that like house plants will like this a lot.

I ordered two of these to give as Christmas gifts [...] :)). They were gifts for my brothers-in-law and the wives...The men just smile over them, but my two "sisters" LOVE the "bulb garden"! They were so excited when they came! The flowers were just peeping up and I think they have had a lot of fun watching everything grow and change. One of the gals is a nurse and her basket has remained in her office. She said when she opens the door in the morning (after her office being shut up all night), the fragrance is wonderful and lingers all day... With our nasty Nebraska weather, your baskets have given them a bit of spring in their homes! I would definitely order again!

My husband bought this for me because he knows how I long for spring, living in the north east. It was hard to get the bulbs to move along. I finally put them out on an enclosed porch during the day (40-50 degrees) and only into the house at night, trying to duplicate real spring temps. Three narcissus are finally blooming and 2 scillas, but the tulips are standing still and there's no chance that the whole basket will bloom at once as shown in the photo. The up side is that the narcissus are very fragrant. And since I have no other garden to play with this time of year, I do have the time to fuss over this basket.

The bulb garden did not live up to expectations. A FEW of the scilla were first to bloom, followed by the hyacinth. The hyacinth bloomed white (not pink) and only began to turn pink when they started to wither and die........BEFORE the tulips bloomed. One of the tulips did not sprout at all, and none of them have bloomed yet (two weeks after arriving) even though the hyacinth are dying. The hyacinth were extremely aromatic - that was the one good thing about the bulb garden.

The tuplips were up about a half-inch when the basket arrived via Fed Ex. So far they have not grown ANY ever since. The hyacinths did pop through and just began blooming yesterday -- just in time for Christmas -- and they have a wonderful scent.

I remain hopeful that the tulips and other bulbs will produce blooms as time goes on.
