Star of Bethlehem is a member of the lily family native to the Holy Land, where its six-petaled flowers carpet the fields each spring. We've planted 30 bulbs in a decorative pressed tin container. The bulbs arrive sprouted and ready to bloom just 2–3 weeks after arrival. After the flowers have finished, they can be planted outdoors in the spring, where they'll multiply each year.

Comments about Star of Bethlehem in Cachepot:

I ordered this product for my mother for Christmas. The pressed tin was very pretty, but the foliage and flowers were disappointing and sparse. They looked nothing like the picture. We did get a good laugh at it though because overall it looked so pitiful!

We sent this as a gift to Northern friends. They loved it..said it was very pretty. I liked how the plants could be used outdoors later and the pot can be re-used also. If it is offered next Christmas I will send it to other friends as well.

Comments about Star of Bethlehem in Cachepot:

This plant was a gift to my daughter in law who lost her baby girl to stillbirth on December 23, 2007. I wanted her to have a wonderful memorial for her baby and our granddaughter. The bulbs bloomed sporadically and were very flimsy, not at all what I expected. At least she can plant them next fall and, perhaps, they will be beautiful in the spring of 10. One can only hope. Right now I am embarassed.

I was extremely disappointed. I grow many potted flowers, and this one never really took off. I got some tiny flowers in the first days and then it just wilted in spite of good care.

Comments about Star of Bethlehem in Cachepot:

There were two pots set in the tin. Each had several bulbs. I was pleased with the rapid growth and flowering. I can't wait to put them in my back garden with my Rose of Sharons. I looked it up in a plant book and found that they can be invasive. I'm hoping for some massive ground cover to help keep other seeds from sprouting.
