The center is difficult to enlarge - necessary as the tree grows. The ring does not fit well around shrubs that have many branches at ground level.

The rings make mowing around trees much easier and neater. Using around the bird feeder poles has reduced sprouting from bird seed in the lawn.

I have one around every tree to conserve water and reduce weeds. Friends always comment on how great they look. I would recommend a 30 inch size as going from 24 to 36 is drastic. I would also increase the opening size on the 36 inch variety.

I do love these tree mulch rings. They are thicker than the ones I have seen in stores. However, it is a little difficult to lay perfectly. After laying a couple, you figure it out. If you use a riding mower, be sure to go slowly if you drive over it. The wheel will pull it if you are not careful. But I am still glad I purchased them. They look beautiful.

Bought for my mother's new crabapple tree and it keeps the lawn mower away from the trunk. A bit too heavy for her to handle, but once in place it is a perfect solution for mulching. She loves how it looks, too.
